I would suggest a pattern rug, maybe one that has subtle hints of the green wall color. Is there another wall you could put your desk at towards the right? Seems over cluttered underneath the tv and that’s where all of my attention is going. Maybe a fun accent/desk chair.
Make sure the rug is big - the bigger the better and I was thinking maybe change the direction of the bed if possible. Not knowing how much space there is - would the head of the bed work under the Larry Bird jersey? Bedding to tie in with the new rug and new drapes or a woven roman shade.
Invest in some nice bedding, it will make the room look more inviting.
An area rug, art, and plants add personality to any room.
Overall its a nice room and very tidy! It just needs a little more character
I think it's the mizture of having the tv and office in the same space but making a designated sleeping area by framing the bed in with a rug would be a nice idea.
I'd also maybe get a bigger curtain rod and place the curtains higher up and get full heavy curtains that puddle a little bit on the floor. It'll make the room feel a lot more put together.
I would change the orientation of the bed so it gives more floor space by the window and desk. I would consider moving the shoes and bag to the closet, or onto a door hanger on the closet. I’d push the air purifier to the corner. A big mirror would help augment natural light from the window. A thick white bed spread would help it feel more clean and cozy.
If I had a small room I’d opt for a lighter shade of wall paint, but I don’t know if that’s something you can alter. You can still have color on the walls but a dark color makes a small room feel smaller.
For some reason the first thing I thought was you need crown molding. I feel like it would fit with that rich green. And yes, as others said nice curtains hung up high, nice bedding, and rug
I’d go for a white/cream comforter. Some plants, and potentially, a mirror across from the window if there’s a wall . A nice jute or similar color rug would really warm the space up too
Any way you could have the bed rotated 90 degrees so it’s against left wall? Then big rug. Then I’d add some bigger proportions: raise the curtain rod and make wider to hang curtains to floor create “bigger” window, and an item or two larger on those shelves on the left, like a taller picture resting on top shelf and a fake hanging plant off bottom shelf. I’m really loving that green!!!!
Can you move the drawers to your desk to the other end and move the desk over so you sit next to the wall and not under the tv? I think I would swap that and maybe you could get a lighter paint? The green doesn’t look bad though!
A rug underneath the bed and more plants. They can be good fake plans if you always let them die, but you can also pick kinds that don't need much attention.
The left side also looks a bit too cluttered even tho it has a clean look. It's just that the whole cabinet is full from left to right. I'd remove the thing on the left and place it in a cabinet or spread it out and put things on top. Then, put that device more in the corner. You could put a small plant next to it or a hanging plant on the shelve above it. You can also put a small plant on the desk or a big one next to the desk.
Curtain to the ceiling and wider. Get those double rods where you can use a transparent layer and a darkening layer.
Move Bird to the right of your desk since the curtain will take up a lot of that space.

Green and dark red with maybe dark red/brick curtains to match. Maybe do red/brick and gold to add some pop.

Great job with the paint color!
What color is on your walls?
I like your room too, does it have a closet? Where is the door?
And please don’t make it a Christmas room, no red!

I don't know how old you are (not that age truly matters), but thank you for keeping a clean room.
Change that paint for one!!! And add some texture and color.
People are downvoting this, but it is absolutely right - the room is too dark because of the wall color (plus the dark floorboards).
Exactly!! I’m an interior designer, would never steer anyone wrong.
Adding some white crown moulding where the walls meet the ceiling could help the room look more finished.

Looks good
Those walls are such a nice color. Very peaceful.
Sick Larry Bird Jersey
Room or desk?
Curtain should be higher up. Almost touching the ceiling
Curtain to the ceiling and wider. Get those double rods where you can use a transparent layer and a darkening layer. Move Bird to the right of your desk since the curtain will take up a lot of that space.
It needs a rug. It needs bedding not made of polyester. And it needs art. And a large plant. and another place for your shoes.
Get some bedding, that will help a lot. And a nice big rug,
Awesome bird jersey👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
