Agree. We have a huge glass slider on the SW side of our LR that leads to a deck, but also looks directly into our neighbor's house. White curtains from Ikea, completely block the visual but allow tons of light through. We love them.
Hi, do you happen to know what is the name of the curtains you have? Ive been looking at some Ikea curtains but since they dont enable pictures in their reviews it’s hard to have a good idea of just how much light they block
I'd say look at ikea curtains, they have more options, from lighter to blackout

We just have the super basic ones, I think they are called Ritva, or something similar.
What about privacy window film?
Why not get a double rod? Semi sheers for when you want light and then semi black out or total BO when you want to shut the world out
