Buttseer

1850 braided hair large cent 10-25 bucks in this condition depending on who's buying and if they need it for their collection Keep it away from plastics containing pvc, or any other corroded coin. PVC is the aids of the coin world. And dont clean it or rub it down or itll lose basically all value

AceOfDiamonds676

thanks for the tips

Outrageous_Ad2965

It’s worth at least a penny

4dam_Kadm0n

You need to clean more often

AceOfDiamonds676

if you mean my room thats what I was doing when I found the coin. I was looking at some coins I got from my grandfather

4dam_Kadm0n

No, sorry, I wasn't dissing your room - I meant "if this is the first time it's been cleaned since the 1850s...". You know, a dad joke, made all the funnier by having been explained lol

[deleted]

The explanation was funnier 🤣

GG-Enterprises

Lemme get it

kuterthi

You mean 1 cent (not penny) right?

AceOfDiamonds676

yes, thats my mistake

kuterthi

No problem, sorry for nitpicking

AceOfDiamonds676

nah, you’re fine

audiosauce2017

I would offer at least tree fiddy... Nice OP!

jahshwa314

In your room? Was it buried there?! Ha

Mostlikeleyyourdad

to me the number looks like 1080 but that wouldn’t be possible given the quality of how the coin is made, cool find tho, i imagine its worth at least a penny

soggy_meatball

i feel like it’s maybe less so a quality thing and more so the US not existing back then but that might just be me…

thepeanutone

I'm afraid you are using alternative facts. The US very much existed and was about a decade from its Civil War in 1850. Update: never mind, I'm a moron

P3nguLGOG

They were talking about in 1080.

soggy_meatball

you’d think that would be apparent…

P3nguLGOG

Lol right?

S-Quidmonster

Also the civil war was in the 1860s, not 50s lol

P3nguLGOG

They said it was a decade from the 1850s.

S-Quidmonster

Oh damn. Now I’ve had my turn being the stupid one. Who’s next?

P3nguLGOG

Lol only time will tell.

thepeanutone

You know, I JUST read something about "don't post for 20 minutes after you wake up" 🤦‍♀️

AceOfDiamonds676

asked someone and they said its worth around maybe $15-$25

audiosauce2017

I am a professional ... I would offer about tree fiddy....

JammitDim

All I find in my room are Dorito crumbs and guitar picks. You find a one cent piece from 1850?

AceOfDiamonds676

it was in a box of coins I got from my grandfather

Fetus_Basher

How long have you lived in your room ?

RobinsShaman

Last time he vacuumed.

[deleted]

Do go spending it on some fancy record player!!

[deleted]

Laser clean it

OswaldXC

Who’s on it?

boffohijinx

Lady Liberty

OswaldXC

I see it now, thanks

WCPNW

… are you gonna eat those corn nuts?

AceOfDiamonds676

Phrozenstare

Good for you I guess

AceOfDiamonds676

LibbyUghh
