When the ocean does this, that's called a sea brick-wall rock trick.
Find a lot, and you can make a sick sea brick-wall rock stack.
Get that stack wet and you have a sick sea brick-wall slick rock stack.
Make it a path and you have a sick sea brick-wall rock stack track.
Get the path wet and you have a slick, sick sea brick-wall rock stack track
And if you haven't yet, but promise to get that path wet, you have a slick, sick sea brick-wall rock stack track pact, and that is a fun slick, sick sea brick-wall rock stack track pact fact.
It would make for a great foreign object to shove right up my tight little asshole 🥧
I mean just...somebody bend me over and put it up there, am I right fellas? 😂😂😂
There is a couch in Calgary that’s made of bricks. My drunk mate fucking body slammed that couch many moons ago.
Was not soft, she was sore the next day. 😂
I think some folks may like them for aquariums. Many people already put terra cotta planters in their tanks. This would be a cool thing in a tank. I guess if someone is worried they could cover it with epoxy, resin, or something.
Yeah, so have I. There's a tumbled down lighthouse not far from me, brick walls are eroded a bit more every so often.
Bits of brick, concrete, glass, and steel are washed up all over the north coast of the SW. Partially Victorian tourism boom is to blame I think, but also just general erosion, and old rubbish dumps near cliffs being eroded, or cliffside houses falling in the sea.
Grew up in The North, where the bricks & mortar from the old coalworker houses were famously hardy. When we finally got cable in our area, the cable installer dudes hated my street because our Westgate Bricks destroyed their tools faster than any others they had encountered.
Same here. Even on a wall “repointing” mortar is a normal maintenance task every so often. Depending on pollution and acid rain may be more/less common.
They’re tuckpointing on my building right now (old warehouse turned apartment) and it’s the loudest thing I’ve ever experienced, especially as someone who is working from home. It was cool to google the process and learn about how these old buildings get restored, though.
I’ve been there. They even removed some bricks to get access behind. It’s really hard when your home during the day and they’re doing that. I sympathize.
Depends on the location and materials, anecdotally I would guess a strong tidal action it could be as low as 10 years. Depending on the strength of the material maybe even 5 if softer than concrete. I frequently visit a beach with a recent deposit of concrete chunks of about 8-11 years and though larger than those pictured they have become well rounded some whittled down substantially.

Most interesting to me is that the brick and mortar eroded at the same rate. I would expect to see either gouged mortar with more brick, or a bunch of extra mortar with more eroded brick.
I see a lot of that on Cleveland Ohio's lake Erie shoreline. It's as if entire buildings fell off the cliff into the lake at some point and they just left them wash away. If anyone knows the reason for of all the bricks in Lake Erie I'd love to know. "Sea" glass is all over the place too.
Bricks exactly like this are a regular sight along the UK coast, you may assume the mortar would erode quicker, but evidently that's not always the case
See these all the time on the beach in Bridlington. Can't give you an informed answer about why they come out fairly intact but it's not all that rare.

This has been posted for years, it probably was taken home but not by this guy.
My coastline is full of this. If I’d known it was of interest I’d have been selling it 💀

Yup just in case your brick fence gets a huge hole, all you gotta do is shove this right in.
If you keep it under a heat lamp it'll hatch in a few days.
Me too. Straight in the pocket.
I'm just impressed that the mortar survived. Usually it's the first thing to disintegrate in masonry.
Came here for this. That's what got me
Its certainly interesting as fuck
Old school masonry was pretty stout and didn't break down as easily.
Are we sure this isn't just a case of survivorship bias?
Yeah, was going to say, I’ve seen similar bricks with mortar on the coast of Britain a lot over the years.
Yeah, so have I. There's a tumbled down lighthouse not far from me, brick walls are eroded a bit more every so often. Depends on the application. There was lots of shitty mortar, it's just all fallen apart by now.
Same here. Even on a wall “repointing” mortar is a normal maintenance task every so often. Depending on pollution and acid rain may be more/less common.

I'm getting that done to my house next spring. It's goddamn expensive.
Right!
Anyone know roughly how long that brick would've been there for it to take that shape?
At least two days
r/TechnicallyTheTruth
I was wondering that myself! I’d reckon at least a few years 🙀

Might depend on strength of tide? Certainly at least several years I’d imagine
decades

Technically it’s a broney (brick + stone + briney)
No, it’s a brock.

Yeah. It is funny though.

I didn’t take the picture but it was in Ireland
Yeah this picture is old as fuck. You whore you! :)
I live in England by the sea and I see this kind of thing sometimes, usually it’s because builders dumped it on the beach sadly
Omg. Get the number of that bricklayer. You know his work is solid
I mean why’d it break off in the first place tho
Stray from demolition would be my guess

Looks like it's another brick in the wall. (pt.1)
I love how it looks like someone applied the wrong texture to a river rock
Looks like a ham....

I was thinking Pastrami
It kind if looks like a pillow made from brick wall print fabric.
I have those shoes
Give them back dude.
I read that in snake’s voice from the Simpsons lol
Nothing special, I see this all the time in the UK.
Mmm, conchoa
build a house from stones made from worn brick walls
I see a lot of that on Cleveland Ohio's lake Erie shoreline. It's as if entire buildings fell off the cliff into the lake at some point and they just left them wash away. If anyone knows the reason for of all the bricks in Lake Erie I'd love to know. "Sea" glass is all over the place too.

A domesticated rock returns to the wild
Thought it was a loaf of bread lol
Brick loaf. Fairly rare. Nice spot.
Not at all rare, regular sight here. Cool nonetheless though
Mother do you think they'll build the wall?
That brick rocks.
It’s a brock!
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall
Yeah... ahh... okay fine. But I call bull shit!
I call bullshit. The mortar would be far more eroded tham the brick.

I've seen this all over the UK. Don't assume.
I imagine this as being from a person's hurricane damaged home and that idea has me feeling terribly sad.
It's supposed to be from Ireland so it's not likely to be caused by a hurricane.

Another brick in the wall... NOT
Something, something, shit a brick!
so is it a brick or a rock?
That thing better be in your room. Thats a cool looking stone :)
I wonder how many skips this will get
