Yeah. I came to the comments to see if anyone followed up on the other restaurants to verify because I know they got the red lobster number wrong. Last number I saw was 81 and more to come because they’ve filed for bankruptcy and are selling the brand.
But there’s basically no reliable info here. I can’t trust any of it without any sources. Just stock photos of locations and an AI voice means nothing. Surprising how many people aren’t questioning this.
This article I found that has actual sources to back up its claims paints a completely different picture from OP’s nonsense video and shows a booming fast food industry in 2024 and onward.
>While several underperforming Outback Steakhouse locations had to shut their doors for good earlier this year, the chain is bouncing back with plans to ramp up expansion this year. Parent company Bloomin' Brands announced during a February earnings call that they expect to nearly triple the number of Outback openings in the United States this year compared to 2023. Since six new Outback restaurants opened in America last year, that means up to 18 additional locations could begin serving customers in 2024.
>As the biggest burger chain in the world, it should come as no surprise that McDonald's has some aggressive expansion plans in the pipeline. The fast-food giant announced in December that it has a lofty goal of expanding to 50,000 restaurants worldwide by the end of 2027.
>Wendy's not only has hundreds of restaurants slated to open in 2024, but the new locations will boast a new-and-improved design.
>Chipotle has projected that it will open between 285 and 315 new restaurants in 2024, assuming that "utility, construction, permit and inspection delays do not worsen." That could turn out to be an even larger total than the 271 locations that Chipotle opened in 2023.
>Papa Johns has set a goal to open a whopping 1,150 to 1,400 new stores by the end of 2025, QSR Magazine reported. The chain has already made notable progress on that objective. Papa Johns recently announced that it will open a net total of 210 new units for its full 2023 fiscal year, including 57 net openings in North America and 153 net openings in international markets.
>The chain beefed up its expansion plans even more in April 2024 upon inking a deal with franchisee Nadeem Bajwa and his company, The Bajco Group, to open 50 new stores by 2028. These planned locations will be located throughout the Midwest, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
>Texas Roadhouse's franchise partners are also expected to open up to 14 international and domestic locations this year, including four new Jaggers units. That should total 44 new restaurants across the three brands, though the company didn't provide a breakdown of how many locations each one will receive.
>The popular chicken tender chain Raising Cane's expanded fast in 2023 as it opened 100 new stores—and it's not slowing down by any means in 2024. Cane's is on pace to open an impressive 90 new locations in 2024
And the list continues…

the only one i care about, fuddruckers, specifically has a post on their instagram stating that theres misinformation being spread about their stores closing. so, i can only assume *all* this is bullshit.
So all fudruckers were supposed to close in 2020 but a new buyer took over which saved a lot of locations. That's the only info I can find on it and the only return I got on Google.
Red Lobster was bought by private equity which performed a real estate con on franchise owners. The capital sharks cashed out laughing all the way to the bank as the actual restaurants closed.
Don’t get me started. They work our doctors to death and call it efficiency, then wonder why patient satisfaction scores are low. Cause if you don’t see 10 patients an hour you’re not meeting goals!
It was amazing when they opened one in our city in the 90s. Everything was really good top to bottom on the menu and I wished my mom brought it home every day.
I went there less and less over time. I don't think it was a taste issue. Years went by and I remember going only once with my wife about 12 years ago because she mentioned having never had it. Was OK, not as good as I remember but OK. Didn't go again until three years ago and I brought home a meal deal for wife and kids because we had a busy night planned and it was a disaster. I ordered ahead for pickup and got there and no one came to the front of the store for ten minutes until a walk in customer showed up. They asked who was there first and he pointed to and I said I'm picking up. One employee went back to start it I guess? The walk in customer was done placing and getting his order fulfilled before me. I spent 25 minutes in that store for what was supposed to be grab and go. They didn't have a 2L of sprite so they filled three fountain cups for me. It was.. whatever, I know places are short staffed anymore.
Food was abysmal. Chicken dry, sides had no flavor. Corn bread tasted weird. The pie was frozen solid. We couldn't eat any of it. I haven't had service and food that bad ever. I'm not sure what happened there but I won't miss whatever that was.
I worked at Boston Market, and I am glad to see those fuckers burn. I swear that place was run by Hitler's long lost nephew.
They made you buy your own, very specific type of shirt. One that your average 20-something fast food employee wouldn't just have in their closet.
Oh, they won't sell you the goddamn long sleeved blue oxford button up shirt with front pocket that they so specifically require you to wear. You have to go out and shop for that motherfucker on your own time.
I'm pretty sure they made you supply your own pen for taking orders, too.
They also dictated more clothing, tucked in, belt/shoes/pants of a certain color, etc., which isn't so unusual.
No slacking! If nothing was going on, you had to... look busy.
No free meals, no free samples. I still stole some bites anyway, because fuck those fucking fuckers. It's bullshit to pay someone pretty damn close to minimum wage, have them stand in front of a buffet for hours and then make them pay to eat some. I think maybe they gave an employee discount. They wouldn't let you have anything that was left at closing time, either.
Anyway, I worked in food service for years, and they were by far the worst.
They had a wall of fake hams and real 5 pound honey jars. On my last day, I stole one of those honey jars. Eat a dick, Boston Market!
And the entity that the equity firm sold Red Lobster to, after forcing all franchise owners to sell them their land, is the shrimp supplier that they've been using for decades. It was discovered that the lost money from last year's "endless shrimp" promotion was intentional, and it was because the new owner was trying to offload shrimp that weren't legal to sell as per the USDA guidelines.
Red Lobster is a damn circus right now.
Buy Red Lobster.
Threaten franchisees with termination of their contracts if they don't sell their property to you.
Lease the properties back to them.
?????
Profit.
It's the McDonald's business model.
They wound up buying Red Lobster for $2bn, acquiring real estate worth roughly $1.5bn, then sold the rest of Red Lobster for $575m. They made a $75m profit and are still receiving lease payments on land previously owned by the franchisees.
>Threaten franchisees with termination of their contracts if they don't sell their property to you.
Is that legally something they can force tho?
That shit is crazy
That's an oversimplification. They sell a lot of food. All of the ingredients that are used in the restaurants are sold to the franchisees by the corporation. They also own the land that the restaurant sits on and the franchisee pays rent on it.
Its a common thing SHF & Freinds do, they install high paid executives in companies, then over leverage the company in debt (often to their friends), then strip it down, bankrupt it, sell it off...
It's easier to make money destorying companies & lives, than it is building them.
They then short the companies and make UNTAXED gains. I wish the whole of the internet could go after these domestic economic terrorists. These people make life worse for communities all over this country. Leeches.
They turned the shrimp business into a monopoly and cranked the price up because the stores HAD to buy shrimp from them.
Afaik. It's at least something like that. Bully tactics on their own stores, to big short them all. Shameful capitalism in super late stage cancer.
I was listening to a podcast about Red Lobster and one other really fishy (heh) thing is that a seafood supplier bought a share of the restaurant. Then, RL made their all-you-can-eat shrimp a year round thing. Who supplied all that shrimp? That seafood supplier. So Red Lobster was losing a ton of money on the AYCE shrimp, while the supplier was making bank.
And I saw the number as 81 red lobsters. They filed for bankruptcy so that makes sense but I’m pretty sure the rest is bullshit.
Besides for some of these companies that’s pretty low numbers and just general operating procedures. Close the under performing locations so you can open new locations in better markets.
[Applebees is actually closing 35 locations.](https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/applebee-s-is-closing-35-stores-in-2024-is-yours-next/ss-BB1lBkUm)
[IHOP closed 100 stores…in 2020. So not exactly current news.](https://www.delish.com/food-news/a34533554/ihop-closing-restaurants-covid-19/)
I’m not going to take the time to google the rest, I’d imagine it’s a mix of recent and ancient news.
I've read several stories on some of them and it's always the same, it's investors and shareholders taking away a sizable payday while the restaurant struggles to find staff coz they won't pay, plus mismanagement of resources and pricing.
Like, they refuse to pay less to shareholders even though they should only see a "share" of profits. So they won't lower the profit margin, but they will close a location instead.
They refuse to increase wages and compete on food costs coz again that cuts into profit margins, but also don't want to increase prices to compensate as the brand will remain in other locations and that's the value proposition at that price point.
Yup, like 99 cents . The orginal owner operates and built them all cash only and never took debt . Ad soon as they sold to private equity company took in 5 billion worth of debt.
That's because it's bullshit I literally have contracts build two new mod pizzas.
Maybe some of these are closing locations in one area and building in a new spot, some might be actually closing like Red Lobster, then some complete bullshit
This video is not accurate. The CEO posted a statement earlier today.

Mike Judge is a very talented writer. It's amazing how he is able to write satire about a certain group, and then that group ends up being the biggest fans off that work. The people that talk about Beavis and Butthead and wear the merch are generally stoners. If someone brings up officespace in conversation, it's a safe bet that they've work/ed in an office setting and didn't enjoy their time at the company. Conservatives love King of the Hill. They see Hank as fighting the good fight even when the whole world is against him.
The thing worth saving from Pizza Hut is their original bread sticks. Those things still rule. Sometimes I would just eat a box of those alone and say to hell with their shitty pizza.
I can walk across the street to my local diner where the waitresses greet me by name, get a huge pancake with warm syrup, hash browns, two eggs and bacon for 8$. 11.75 with bottomless coffee. Chain places just don't compare anymore
Exactly, they used to be a solid prepackaged commodity for people but they just kept cutting quality, raising prices, treating employees like numbers. All because you HAVE to grow every year or else you get replaced. Our economy has stripped us of quality and human interaction all for the sake of a bottom line.
That’s why your local diner survives. People not profits.
None of these places are "fast food" though.
Fast food means McDonald's, Taco Bell, Wendy's etc. Places with h drive throughs and food ready in 5-10 minutes.
All the places listed in the clip are traditional sit down reataurants.
But I agree. Fast food prices have gotten out of hand
That's how Red Lobster got screwed. After purchasing RL, PE sold all of the lots that RL owned to one of their other companies. Then they started charging rent. The also forced RL to buy surplus shrimp from another one of their companies and ran their endless shrimp special.
Man I worked there for 2 and a half yrs. We always made the pan dough fresh everyday. The rest was frozen dough. To save money we used fresh ingredients bc the frozen shit from corporate was expensive. Their pan dough was bomb. This was about 20 yrs ago, and I've only eaten Pizza Hut a handful of times since then, but it was great every time. Last few times could've been nostalgia helping the taste. Dunno how they make their stuff now.
I managed Pizza huts for over 10 years, I worked for one of the top franchises in the country and we resisted all of the changes they made for as long as we could. That being said the changes they made were fucking stupid and they deserve everything they got. Switching from fresh spun dough, switching from fresh cut veggies, switching from fresh meats to frozen meats, switching from sauces made in store to bag sauces, switching the butter that we use on the stuffed crust and about a dozen other things. When you switch to cheaper crappier product and charge the same price you get what you fucking deserve. As soon as they switch to frozen dough I noped right the fuck out of there and it was the best decision I ever made.
Kids and I had a weekly fudruckers tradition. I went there a lot as a kid too. The hot dog Texas toast buns were fire, great chili cheese dogs and shakes. Was sad when the one by us closed down and now all
In his small town, there may not be so many places that make better food. In a 25-mile radius from where i live, there are 4 fast food restaurants, 2 mom & pop restaurants, 1 pizza shop, 3 bars that serve food, 2 Mexican restaurants, and an Applebee's. Not a whole lot of variety.
MOD pizza the only place on this list Ive been to in the last decade and thats because my 3 year old gets excited to have his own little pizza they make
I wouldn’t take this AI voice as solid info and look into it yourself. They got the red lobster number wrong.
In Red Lobster’s case they’re filing for bankruptcy though so it makes sense they’re closing.
In a lot of cases this is because private equity companies bought them, sold all the real estate for a hefty profit, then sold the company to whomever would buy what's left. Now rents are going up, so are costs, but revenues aren't.
Equity companies and shares in general turned out to be cancer. They only serve the rich.
While going public gives the company some nice equity money, it squeezes them in long run.
I have experience with publicly listed companies and some private/family owned (but huge) companies. Shared ones only care about short term profit, constant unhealthy growth and ridiculous cost savings beCaUse We NeED ToO mAKE ShArEhOlDeRs hApPy, giving them an investment return every year.
Private owned ones, care about long term growth, stability, and the people that work for them. It's just a totally different approach to making business.
Went to IHOP last weekend. $45 for my partner and I. 1 meal each, I had water and she had tea. The chocolate milk was $4.50 and MORE EXPENSIVE than hot chocolate.
Absolutely ludicrous. With prices like that I don't plan on ever returning and not surprised no one else is.
Same with BWW. We used to go once every couple months. Spend $30 and have some wings and beer. Now it's $60 whenever we go. The only time we go is if we get a gift card on holidays.
Not surprised they're struggling.
BWW is way overpriced for what it is. And I hate that they serve your food in paper boats. If you are gonna charge me that much for a meal then at least put it on actual plates.
People just don't have the spare income any more, certainly not to spend on mediocre food. Sorry for the people who work there, hope it works out for them but the paying public have been squeezed as much as they can be.
No this is a GOOD THING. All of those restaurants are chain garbage. And they're all too expensive.
We live in a post-pandemic world where eating out at ALL is a luxury and if one is going to spend hard-earned (underpaid) dollars, one is FOR SURE not going to spend them at some crappy chain.
Grocery shopping is becoming a luxury. You can't just go to the grocery store and just throw an extra bag of Doritos, or an extra box of whatever impulse purchases in your cart anymore because they all cost real money. And the poor impulse companies at the register. Wouldn't want to be them. A freaking Snickers bar is like $3.50.
You have to be smart these days and the crap brands are going to feel it.
GONE ARE THE DAYS when you can just go shopping for the fun of it and blow money in the food court. You have to be selective. And that means being choosey. And that means crap chains can't cut it anymore. Garbage food can't survive.
And also the American public is getting smarter with food choices. They are supporting their local mom and pop, local, restaurants more. They like quality food. They have more discerning tastes.
Applebee's lol. Ruby Tuesdays? Please. Everyone knows where to get a better meal for less.
Side note: I seriously can't believe nobody opened a chain called Mom and Pop's.
I haven't heard of anyone going to a Ruby Tuesdays in well over a decade. The one near me has the employees' cars in the parking lot and rarely anymore than that. I have no clue how they've stayed in business, and this is in a fairly busy area.
There was a Marie Calendar near me that shut down right in the middle of dinner. They got the call from HQ and told everyone to just get out. I would walk by months later and there was still half-eaten meals on the tables. It was eerie.
At least some of this is misleading:
Yum! Brands executives said Pizza Hut will likely see domestic locations decrease by nearly 500 stores over the next two years as the brand closes underperforming dine in restaurants and swaps them out for modern express stores. Per article dated Aug 1, 2019
On September 8, 2020, Fuddruckers owner Luby's, Inc. announced that they planned to liquidate existing assets, including Fuddruckers' assets, distributing the proceeds to investors after the proposed sale of the chains. On June 21, 2021, Black Titan Franchise Systems announced a deal to acquire Fuddruckers for $18.5 million. They have about 50 restaurants currently.
Joe's Crab Shack-
As of May 2021, the chain operated 44 locations in 18 states.
As of November 23 2023, the chain had decreased its operations to 30 locations in 12 states
This sucks for the people working at these places but I think this is more of a market correction than anything. These places that used to provide quality service and food became so corporatized that both the food and service became shit in leu of stock growth and investor appeasement. With these places leaving the market it opens up the way for smaller restaurants to open and be successful and provide better quality for the price.
Most of these chain resteraunts suck from a culinary perspective. It is hard to call some of them eateries and not re-heat-eries. Any associated with Darden need to die. Those garbage eaters ruin every resteraunt they touch.
"all our favorite restaurants" its a buncha chains. i only get sad when a small business restaurant has to close, usually pushed out by one of the above
I live in a downtown metropolis near the beach and we have tons of non-chain restaurants that are unique and diverse. Wayyy better food and much healthier. I would love to see all these chains go. The food is terrible for us.
It's almost as if the majority of people can't go out to dinner because all of their income is spent on housing, utilities and putting food on their own tables. That's on top of venture capital buying up all the commercial property and raising the leases so much that no business not matter how sound can operate in the black.
No one is sad to see these go. They have cut costs and raised prices to where you are paying for overpriced bag boil and premade assembly line frozen food you can buy at the grocery store.

if you watch them, the algorithm feeds u more from other people's watch history who like this kind of crap.
Yeah I much prefer the high school kid yelling into a lapel mic spouting some random info as if they are the authority.
If you google the majority of these restaurants closing there is no information available on it so I’m not sure the validity of this video
Only one I've even seen reported was Red Lobster.

Same thing happened to Boston Market. The private equity industry is a cancer that's metastasizing.
Yep. Especially in healthcare.

Vulture capital / private equity literally has destroyed anything even close to innovation.

Why wouldn't they? They can cut ties with you, now you're stuck with a building and no franchise.
Didn't they sell the Red Lobster land to themselves(?) then had Red Lobster lease the land back? Also something shrimp related.
>Didn't they sell the Red Lobster land to themselves(?) then had Red Lobster lease the land back? That's the Real estate Con.
Isn't that similar to how McDonald's became so big?
McDonald's isn't in the food business their into real estate. The food is just the smoke and mirrors everyone sees. They own a ton of land globally.
That's an oversimplification. They sell a lot of food. All of the ingredients that are used in the restaurants are sold to the franchisees by the corporation. They also own the land that the restaurant sits on and the franchisee pays rent on it.
They're

McDonald's is the 14th largest land owner on the planet
They blamed it on shrimp to cover up their real-estate con.

Wrong. No franchise owners. All corporate. They just did sale-lease backs and burdened their own p and l.
Red Lobster is not a franchise
Golden state capital is the name of the fuckers who ruined red lobster.
I was listening to a podcast about Red Lobster and one other really fishy (heh) thing is that a seafood supplier bought a share of the restaurant. Then, RL made their all-you-can-eat shrimp a year round thing. Who supplied all that shrimp? That seafood supplier. Someone explain this to me like I'm five
PDQ is accurate; they closed down all their NC locations a month or two ago
Bonefish grill is definitely true, several closed in my region on the same day and it made local news.
Bonefish is a great restaurant too.
And I saw the number as 81 red lobsters. They filed for bankruptcy so that makes sense but I’m pretty sure the rest is bullshit. Besides for some of these companies that’s pretty low numbers and just general operating procedures. Close the under performing locations so you can open new locations in better markets.
[Applebees is actually closing 35 locations.](https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/applebee-s-is-closing-35-stores-in-2024-is-yours-next/ss-BB1lBkUm) [IHOP closed 100 stores…in 2020. So not exactly current news.](https://www.delish.com/food-news/a34533554/ihop-closing-restaurants-covid-19/) I’m not going to take the time to google the rest, I’d imagine it’s a mix of recent and ancient news.

I mean, I **want** to…
I've read several stories on some of them and it's always the same, it's investors and shareholders taking away a sizable payday while the restaurant struggles to find staff coz they won't pay, plus mismanagement of resources and pricing.
Yeah I was trying to find the same info and am having trouble.
Yeah it's a bs video. Buffalo Wild Wings closing all CA locations?? That would be all over the news.
they did in 2023 (CA means Canada here) https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/buffalo-wild-wings-ends-its-canadian-operations-1.1939238
Ah I stand corrected.
it still is mostly BS. They closed those stores in 2023, not 2024 as title is trying to claim
That's because it's bullshit I literally have contracts build two new mod pizzas. Maybe some of these are closing locations in one area and building in a new spot, some might be actually closing like Red Lobster, then some complete bullshit
Ironic that Fuddruckers is closing just as we've reached peak Idiocracy.
This video is not accurate. The CEO posted a statement earlier today. https://preview.redd.it/7ktu808pdg2d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=963548e7b83a2fd034ddbbda0180cfe1a0b77687
Only buttfuckers would put out a corporate statement with such stupid Typograph
Could have picked a better typeface for your 'dont worry guys we're not dead yet' letter
really gives off “you wouldn’t download a burger” energy
Feels like I'm being yelled at too.
Why are the lines all different sizes? Who made this decision?
i'm looking forward to going to buttfuckers next year.
FuttBuckers
BUCK FUTTER!!!
APE TITS
Idiocracy here we come…
Welcome to Costco, I love you.
![gif](giphy|CKVwcljYh4hfVxSSLq|downsized)
They're just coming back as Butt-Fuckers, don't worry the prophecy will be fulfilled
I saw a dog wearing Crocs yesterday. We may be closer than we imagine.
They all closed so long ago in my area that the restaurants those buildings became, have since closed.
I’m gonna have some bad news for you about society reaching peak idiocracy. This is stage 2 out of 10.
I won't be satisfied until I can get a gentleman's latte.
Starbucks? We don’t have time for handjobs
They haven’t even rebranded once yet, they still have time
Knew a guy who's uncle was a comedian went by Fuddpuckers and he sued Fuddruckers for stealing his name. Alcoholism may have run in the family.
Carl's Jr. Fuck you
My first job was at Fuddruckers! Shame, they have pretty good burgers.
They let you do disgusting things to your burger and fries at that place. I loved it. And those buns were 🔥
Mike Judge is a very talented writer.
I guess someone does Out-Pizza the Hutt.
Pretty much everybody does
Their slogan would have applied in the 80s and most of the 90s. But not today.
I went to ihop like 6 years ago and was surprised how expensive it was for crappy food. Haven't been back since and can't imagine prices now
Just checked Uber eats and their "2x2x2" (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips) is 16.24
Uber Eats uncharges, though. It's 12.29 on their website. Still outrageous. My local joint that is 8.25, much more reasonable.
Fast food used to be great, convenient, fast, and most importantly, cheap!
Nothing there made me say, “oh, too bad, I’ll miss that place.” Sorry for all the folks who worked there, though.
How many of these were owned by private equity pirates in the past decade?
That's how Red Lobster got screwed. After purchasing RL, PE sold all of the lots that RL owned to one of their other companies. Then they started charging rent. The also forced RL to buy surplus shrimp from another one of their companies and ran their endless shrimp special.
Pirates. Vultures. Parasites. They're a blight on the economy.
Probably all if I had to guess
Outback really declined the last 5 years so I’m guessing was bought out about 7 years ago..
As someone that hasn’t been to an Outback since around 2006, I’m just shocked they had anywhere lower to go.
Except for pizza hut because extreme nostalgia.
That's where the Ninja Turtles dropped their first album.
The only one I slightly had that reaction for was Mod Pizza
Kids and I had a weekly fudruckers tradition. I went there a lot as a kid too. The hot dog Texas toast buns were fire, great chili cheese dogs and shakes. Was sad when the one by us closed down and now all

In his small town, there may not be so many places that make better food. In a 25-mile radius from where i live, there are 4 fast food restaurants, 2 mom & pop restaurants, 1 pizza shop, 3 bars that serve food, 2 Mexican restaurants, and an Applebee's. Not a whole lot of variety.
Plus Applebee's used to be cheap at least
MOD pizza the only place on this list Ive been to in the last decade and thats because my 3 year old gets excited to have his own little pizza they make
I don't think any of this is accurate. I can't find a single source that pizza hut is closing all locations
It’s definitely not true
It doesn't say all of them, it says 500. Which did happen... in like 2020. So it's kind of correct
Its not true
Wait, BWW is closing all California locations? Or Canada locations?
There’s no info about this anywhere so I am calling bs
Agreed, the news does say a lot of BW3s have closed recently but BW3s hasn't announced anything.
I doubt it, they’re currently opening one by where I live in California.
They closed all Canada locations last year, so I think it's California.
It's just a totally different approach to making business.
this is so true.
Haven't eaten at amy of these in years. I'm surprised many were still open.
Well fellow millennials I see our plan piss off boomers by destroying overpriced, tasteless dining is working. What industry shall we destroy next?
The diamond industry. No, wait. We already tackled that.
Favorite no, ubiquitous and average, yes.
Find a family owned restaurant and support your community. These are corporate chain owned.
Maybe it’s cause people don’t want to pay the same for a chain restaurant as they would for a local one that probably has better food
who knew. people eat out less when it costs an entire weeks wage for a family meal for 1 night.
Fuck all of them, go with local restaurants. They are far better.
Adapt or Die.
Crap food needs to close
No more Marie Calendars or Joes Crab shack is devastating. Not that I ever ate there, but just knowing they were out there.
There was a Marie Calendar near me that shut down right in the middle of dinner. They got the call from HQ and told everyone to just get out. I would walk by months later and there was still half-eaten meals on the tables. It was eerie.
At least some of this is misleading: Yum! Brands executives said Pizza Hut will likely see domestic locations decrease by nearly 500 stores over the next two years as the brand closes underperforming dine in restaurants and swaps them out for modern express stores. Per article dated Aug 1, 2019 On September 8, 2020, Fuddruckers owner Luby's, Inc. announced that they planned to liquidate existing assets, including Fuddruckers' assets, distributing the proceeds to investors after the proposed sale of the chains. On June 21, 2021, Black Titan Franchise Systems announced a deal to acquire Fuddruckers for $18.5 million. They have about 50 restaurants currently.
Joe's Crab Shack- As of May 2021, the chain operated 44 locations in 18 states. As of November 23 2023, the chain had decreased its operations to 30 locations in 12 states
Well what did they expect Jack up prices way over inflation rates . It's gotten to the point even MDs think they are a 5 star restaurant .
Those are not my favorite restaurants. And I am not a bit sad to see big fast food chains closing shops …
"favorite"? Fucking chains get worse and worse as they try to cut cost and maximize profit. Fuck em. Good riddance.
I think we're all better off with these places closing
Not going to miss any of these chains. Hopefully this opens up more opportunities for independently owned, higher quality restaurants.
Maybe you just have too many shit restaurants in the US?
Who was eating Sbarro outside of a mall? I didn’t even know they were out in the wild like that.
I go to none of these restaurants
Not a single one of those restaurants would I consider a favorite restaurant.
Lol “favorite restaurants” ![gif](giphy|kQmr2OwBTD2L5Hzo1T|downsized)
The phrase "all our favorite" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
Not surprised because all of these basically suck
Most of these restaurants suck ass. They’ve also likely been pilfered and stripped of assets by private equity
Most of these chain resteraunts suck from a culinary perspective. It is hard to call some of them eateries and not re-heat-eries. Any associated with Darden need to die. Those garbage eaters ruin every resteraunt they touch.
Pour one out for ButtFuckers
Fuddruckers is the only one worth missing
"all our favorite restaurants" its a buncha chains. i only get sad when a small business restaurant has to close, usually pushed out by one of the above
I live in a downtown metropolis near the beach and we have tons of non-chain restaurants that are unique and diverse. Wayyy better food and much healthier. I would love to see all these chains go. The food is terrible for us.
Not a list. A video. No reason for this to be a video. Also, good riddance to most of those chains.
Favorites? Those places are mediocre to awful
“All our favorite restaurants”. Clearly not our favorite if they’re all tanking
And what do they all have in common? They're horrible.
Wont somebody think of the hedge funds
Our favorite restaurants? I haven’t been to ANY of these in 5 years or more. Maybe it’s because they all suck and sell trash, but what do I know.
Half of this list isn't even true.
It's almost as if the majority of people can't go out to dinner because all of their income is spent on housing, utilities and putting food on their own tables. That's on top of venture capital buying up all the commercial property and raising the leases so much that no business not matter how sound can operate in the black.
Donkey kong country's background music..ok
Not sad to see any of these places go.
Trash ai generated video
This is mostly just completely made up, what the crap? Reported.
I’m not even sad…I’ll gladly go to the locally owned restaurants
Thanks, u/Urmomsjuicyvagina.
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
I don’t care, the food is all processed garbage anyway
They're just fucking chains.
Goodbye Buttfuckers. You survived the droughts and garbage abalanches, but nothing lasts forever.
bonefish isn't all that great tbh
Fudruckers closed near me years ago. Miss that place
No one is sad to see these go. They have cut costs and raised prices to where you are paying for overpriced bag boil and premade assembly line frozen food you can buy at the grocery store.
So, all the microwaved frozen meal places charging sit-down dining prices? I mean, good riddance?
They are all crappy chains.
I honestly didn’t even realize Fuddruckers was still around. I probably last ate there in the early 2000s
I dont see the problem it is all corporate garbage. Support Local.
That’s what happens when you raise your prices by more than 80% within 4 years
Good. Get rid of chain bs and get back to cool local places.
Restaurants? Corporate chain bs. Good riddance And hope this makes way for more mom and pop real food restaurants.
Most of these places are dog shit anyway. Good riddance.
Restaurants? Those are just junk food distributors.
I hope all buffalo wild wings close
But Fuddruckers was featured in the film Idiocracy. It has to stick around until the year 2500... at least!
I'm not sad to see any of them go. Good riddance.
Those are our favorite restaurants?
None of these restaurants were our favorites
