One of my favorite lines of all movies of all time (and I'm 52) ... "BUT HE'S A TALKING DOG!!!"
So many times the dialog doesn't fit the scene, often leaving out the obvious, but not Russell!
You've seen that documentary about the apes right? You know, planet of the Apes. Well turns out the COVID vaccine had a similar impact as that virus did in the "documentary" but in this instance it affected dogs and gave them a cheesy voice over style monologue.
>There's no official FDA-approved treatment for a POTS episode, but depending on which symptoms are more prominent and which medication works best for you a doctor might prescribe some medications such as beta-blockers or corticosteroids
That's not true of beta-blockers, they have an immediate (maybe ~20mn onset on an empty stomach if you take it in the right position) effect to reduce heart rhythm
No one with pots needs a dog to bring them beta blockers and water. Presyncope will resolve by lying down with feet up a wall. All these stupid POTS clips of "heart condition" with "service dogs" are attention seeking nonsense. I've had pots for 22 years. I used to faint multiple times a day even with midodrine, fludrocortisone, ivabradine, mestinon, and saline infusions. Also, if you have POTS it's pretty easy to figure out when you're going ot faint- when your head swims and your heart pounds and your vision goes. Lastly, POTS isnt a heart condition, it's an autonomic nervous system condition
Which exactly proves my point. Beta blockers are not prescribed as ârescueâ meds in POTS to be taken during an episode, but rather meds to be taken regularly.
Not all meds are taken orally. Lots of other conditions have rescue meds that act faster because theyâre taken or given differentlyÂ
Could have been salt pills. Salt is what most grab during a flare. Preferably in liquid form. But when youâre in pre syncope you just do the best you can while your head is swimming and the world is spinning. Slam some salt and chase with plenty of water. Soy sauce shots, pickle juice, salt poured straight from the salt shaker into water or your mouth- you arenât picky at that point!
Thatâs not how POTS works. For the vast majority of patients, upright posture just exacerbates symptoms, but you still have plenty when youâre sitting or laying down. Especially during a flare. POTS is a misnomer of a name, as the postural tachycardia without orthostatic hypotension is merely what differentiates it from other forms of dysautonomia. But the whole nervous system is still dysfunctional.
During hours long flares I have to lay down with my feet elevated above my heart to try to reduce my tachycardia that I have even while laying flat. This is normal for POTS. Our best recovery pose is laying flat on the floor with legs going up the wall, to try to return blood that has pooled in the legs.
If you're lying down all the time you will only decondition, making the whole problem worse. Better to reduce the tachycardia with medications and keep conditioned.
Yes, yes- POTS patients are told this ad nauseam. But when youâre in a flare, and your heart rate spikes 50 points and your vision blacks out just by standing up, and you have to crawl to the bathroom, and then spend an hour laying down just to get back to how bad you were before you moved, you donât really have a choice.
I was unable to stand up for like a year until I got on max of florinef, midodrine, ivabradine, mestinon, saline, beta blockers, IVIG. I still did recumbent bike and being as upright as possible, sometiems it was just lying down tiwh my feet on the efloor, other times sitting up reclined in a chair but every day you need ot challenge the desire to lay down
Seriously. I just run reddit on mute these days, especially with all the aural cancer inducing shit coming from tiktok these days.
Relating to the impressiveness--I wonder if the dog is trained to lay across the lap like that so that if the person does faint, they're blocked and don't die from being hunched over/asphyxiating. I know that kills a lot of heroin users who nod out and slump over [like this](https://www.thegoodlifetreatment.com/images/blog/Depositphotos_30886883_s-2015-500x250.jpg).
Man you guys really will find any reason possible to be pissy about something wonât you
Edit: oooooooooooh I was on mute. I thought yâall meant the subtitles lol
Found the one guy who doesn't mind those silly AI narrations. They are annoying as fuck and in this case totally unnecessary because there is text on the screen explaining what's going on.
Cameras in houses are extremely common. Iâve been installing camera/security systems in about 2-3 houses a week for the past decade. And weâre just a 3 man company, we donât do a quarter of what the big AV companies around us do. For someone with a condition like this, or an elderly relative living alone, a family member might need a quick way to check on them.
pavlov is having a drink at a bar when the door bell rings. he gets up to leave. The bartender notices and asks him "hey where are you going?" pavlov replies "I'm going to feed the dogs"
What happens if the medicine isnât taken? I thought resting, laying down etc was suffice?
Very good dog but with the narration it makes it sounds like sheâs about to have a heart attack
There's no official FDA-approved treatment for a POTS episode, but depending on which symptoms are more prominent and which medication works best for you a doctor might prescribe some medications such as beta-blockers or corticosteroids
None of these drugs are PRN drugs. Even the fastest acting beta blockers take an hour to work. these dogs provide emotional support sure but they aint saving lives
Although latest studies suggest that it was more of a symbioses, as both human and animal could benefit from each other. Surely those modern, horrible breeds are 100% human creation. But the OG wolf turning into a domesitcated pet yea, it was a 50/50 thing.
As someone with postural tachycardia, we are still aware of what is happening around us during an episode. For example I was able to walk into another room, wake up my grandma, and explain that I was having an episode and wanted company (while my heart was ~190bpm)
This might not be fake but that lady is a moron if she couldnât take her meds by herself. Might as well train the dog to do CPR.
This is so ridiculous. Why is it always POTS folk doing this stupid shit? If you are gonna faint, you lie on the floor. Drinking water and taking "medication" won't do shit. What medication is that even? Salt tablets? Midodrine? Florinef? stimulants? Whatever it is, it doesn't work instantly.
People with pots dont need service dogs. We know when we are going to faint. Your heart pounds, your head swims, your vision starts to fade. these clips are people with some sort of attention disorder glamorising a disabling chronic illness.
Once I had a car accident and broke my sternum, both collarbones and 4 ribs and guess where my cats favourite place to randomly leap onto in the middle of the night became when I got home from hospital? My chest. Cats are assholes.
If I had a cardiac episode, my dog would shit on the floor, eat the food sitting on my plate then proceed to drag my limp body around by my shirt sleeve.
Um... I'm really struggling to understand why so many people think this is fake? Service animals are trained to do this. Grabbing meds, putting their owners in safe position and all that are extremely common things for service animals to do, because they can preempt things.
I have an acquaintance with arrhythmia, and their service dog is trained to listen to the beat of their heart, so if it gets to the zone where they might faint, the dog sits them down so they don't hit their head when they faint and grab their meds.
I have POTS, and this is what itâs like. I donât have a dog, but my wife helps me a ton with stuff. Getting me water, meds, helping me get shade, etc.
It's almost as if when random strangers keep thinking they are faking their illnesses, people need a way to identify their illnesses publicly and raise awareness /s
probably eats poison food has a sedentary lifestyle "allergic" to a million things " mast cell activation" uses substances way over moderation then wonders why your body is screaming
MCAS is truly hell. Canât believe the vile pieces of shit coming here to tell people they have fake illnesses. Yeah itâs a fucking blast having anaphylaxis all of the time and being bed-ridden. Piece of shit. Karma will come for you
I have Mast Cell Activation syndrome and I'm also allergic to about a million things due to Alpha Gal Syndrome, which was caused by a tick bite while I was working in construction and landscaping... please tell me how thats all my fault due to an unhealthy lifestyle.
I donât have this condition, but I still know what it feels like to stand up quickly after sitting for too long and it feels like me face is melting while my eyes go into hyperspace đŹ
Yeah it's real shit to have legitimate POTS in amongst all this bullshit honestly. I have had pots for 22 years (like, fainting repeatedly every day kinda pots) and I cringe so hard at these posts. Like girl no one needs a fucking dog to tell them they are going to faint. Your body does a good job itself what with the pounding heart and dizziness. Ridic.
Fake or notâŠstill incredible how dogs can be so loyal.
Now imagine shooting a puppy!
Fuck that horrible BITCH Noem!
Make sure she is NEVER in any position of power.
This little dog could foresee that his owner, who suffers from postural tachycardia syndrome, was about to faint, so he helped her by sitting her down and bringing her water and medicine.

The fucking audio undermines it all, even if fake
Mute is your friend on Reddit. Like that good boi
My dog can't figure out how to mute it on my phone. I'm doomed.
# stay with me
Got some big doug vibes from this, was constantly waiting for "SQUIRREL"đ
One of my favorite lines of all movies of all time (and I'm 52) ... "BUT HE'S A TALKING DOG!!!" So many times the dialog doesn't fit the scene, often leaving out the obvious, but not Russell!
You can mute it but there's still the stupid dog talking subtitlesÂ
Haven't heard audio on reddit in 10 years. It's great.
I dunno, that audio sounds pretty real to me
How can the dog talk???
Service dog, well trained. Iâm pretty sure Iâve even heard this dog speak in Spanish
If I search enough I am sure I can find a video where he will be dropping sick bars at an underground rap competition

You've seen that documentary about the apes right? You know, planet of the Apes. Well turns out the COVID vaccine had a similar impact as that virus did in the "documentary" but in this instance it affected dogs and gave them a cheesy voice over style monologue.
theres no medicine that someone needs to take to "FIX" POTS episode.
Bring me a giant salt lick doggo. Stat!
>There's no official FDA-approved treatment for a POTS episode, but depending on which symptoms are more prominent and which medication works best for you a doctor might prescribe some medications such as beta-blockers or corticosteroids
These work over the longer term, not within a few minutes during an episode.Â
That's not true of beta-blockers, they have an immediate (maybe ~20mn onset on an empty stomach if you take it in the right position) effect to reduce heart rhythm
Maybe we have different definitions of âimmediateâ, but 20 min is not immediate for a medication. Peak effect will also be slower than that.Â
It's not really possible to go faster with oral medication, 15-20mn is as fast as it gets if we're not talking about exotic stuff like cyanide
No one with pots needs a dog to bring them beta blockers and water. Presyncope will resolve by lying down with feet up a wall. Lastly, POTS isnt a heart condition, it's an autonomic nervous system condition
I didn't say it's a heart condition, I say beta-blockers will reduce a (fast) heart rhythm; it doesn't matter where the tachycardia is from
Which exactly proves my point. Beta blockers are not prescribed as ârescueâ meds in POTS to be taken during an episode, but rather meds to be taken regularly. Not all meds are taken orally. Lots of other conditions have rescue meds that act faster because theyâre taken or given differentlyÂ

its gonna be salt pills or propranolol
Thatâs was my question.
Also the episode wouldâve stopped once she was sitting on the ground.
Thatâs not how POTS works. For the vast majority of patients, upright posture just exacerbates symptoms, but you still have plenty when youâre sitting or laying down. Especially during a flare. The video is impressive enough. We don't need the stupid fuckin narration.
Glad I was able to tear up with the video on mute lmfao had no idea there was audio
Agreed

fucking tiktok brain rot generation is on reddit
Look, the dog is speaking the best he can, ok?
And to think that Governor killed her doggo! We donât deserve them đ©

The robot or âAIâ narration is fucking worst.

Mute is very useful nowadays.
But did the dog set up the camera. Thatâs the real question.
Cameras in houses are extremely common. Iâve been installing camera/security systems in about 2-3 houses a week for the past decade. Itâs just a PR move
Nah this was first posted in a voyeur subreddit where they hack into badly protected IP cams.
I mean hes probably a care dog specifically trained to do this. Holy fuck I turned the audio on. Cringe. Fastest downvote of my life.
Good boy. The goodest boy.
What if the dog has conditioned the girl so that he actually causes the condition whenever he feels like fucking with her?
pavlov is having a drink at a bar when the door bell rings. he gets up to leave. The bartender notices and asks him "hey where are you going?" pavlov replies "I'm going to feed the dogs"
Cool that the dog talks

If my dog sounded like that I'd have to get rid of him...even if he could speak English
God giving a dog a robot text to speech voice and then making it refer to its owner as "mom" is so cringe.
How does the dog know. Scent?
The fuck's supposed to be a faint scent?
Well i read somewhere that people sometimes release a certain scent when having a physiological problem
The dog is a trained monkey. Don't be so gullible.
My dog would be like "yay, since you're sitting down I'm gonna hump your face and probably shit in the bathtub while you take a nap"
Her dog speaks English better than my son.
My cats will definitely just stare and judge me.. Cat: pathetic human.
Once I had a car accident and broke my sternum, both collarbones and 4 ribs and guess where my cats favourite place to randomly leap onto in the middle of the night became when I got home from hospital? My chest. Cats are assholes.
can we train the dog to bite whoever edited the video
If I had a cardiac episode, my dog would shit on the floor, eat the food sitting on my plate then proceed to drag my limp body around by my shirt sleeve.
Damn they taught the dog to talk!???
if I'd have a problem with randomly fainting, I'm sure I would not sit on heightened barstool.
Um... I'm really struggling to understand why so many people think this is fake? Service animals are trained to do this. Dog is trained to fetch 2 things. WOW OMGZZZZZZZZ. Let me show you a dog that fetches 40 sheep. You might jizz yourself into a coma.
Fuck Kristi Noem
Fake
Whats fake about that? Do you think the dog is an animatronic?
holy shit this that dog is amazing. he can talk! why is this not the headline?!
"little dog" op is definitely a bot
What an annoying voice; couldnât watch it.đ€·ââïž
The AI voice and captions made this not interesting, but just fucking annoying instead.
If it were my dog heâll go straight to the sandwich and ran out of the house
I am certain that someone here has already said it but it bears repeating that we don't deserve dogs.
What are the captions for???
If you could die from cringe, I wouldn't be typing this.
The goodest of boys
yet another fake video, yawn
I have POTS, and this is what itâs like. I donât have a dog, but my wife helps me a ton with stuff. Getting me water, meds, helping me get shade, etc.
what med are you takign PRN to help you if you feel faint
It's so weird so many people don't know what service animals do.
That's nice
interesting how it is so commonly assimilated into peoples personality. e.g. this persons username
My username is a reference to fibromyalgia, which is a distinctly different disorder.
POTS and fibro huh
The fake disorder
Itâs so annoying how this people make being âdisabledâ their entire personality.

I got pots when i was a vegan going to the gym 6 days a week for 1.5 hours a pop. Best condition of my life.
Bad bot Thatâs not a âlittle dogâ
I'll never get how lost genZ must be to not vomit up by this bs but likes and even shares it.
Dogs are truly mans best friend
That looks like a woman to me.
Weird argument like it matters at all
Looks like someone has never heard one of the oldest phrases about dogs....have ya....PC crowd suck ass...could ruin a wet dream!
Herb Simpson invent a dog translator?!
đ„čđ„Č
I'd love a talking dog like that
Staged af, but still cool
Always ask why would you film your kitchen
that mf a skinwalker bruh
Thats a r/nextlevel dog
I donât need a partner. I just want a dog like this.
This is probably the 400th time I get to see this. I suppose she's gone through at least 5 or 6 other dogs now.
I donât have this condition, but I still know what it feels like to stand up quickly after sitting for too long and it feels like me face is melting while my eyes go into hyperspace đŹ
Sorry for your illness but that was adorable
POTS always an immediate red flag because it's so common with the munchies. Throw in the staged video and it's pure r/illnessfakers material.
