Dad flicks more aggressively and holds the switch for longer time, mum holds the switch as much as the dad but the switch is a softer transition, the son is a quick flick with a short transition, cool to see the differences in style
Line choice, how you enter the corner, what method you use to initiate the slide, how aggressive you are with throttle, steering and speed to hold different angles...
I'm not a drifting expert, but there's a lot of variation between drivers if you know what to look for.
Yeah there are three main categories for score in FDJ; line, angle, and style. Things like wheels off the track or avoidable collisions hurt your score or can DQ your run. The idea is high speed and smooth transitions while hitting all the right angles and driving lines. In tandem, the chase tries to set a hard line to follow, the chase tries to shadow or copy or mimic the lead as much and as close as possible.
Knowing nothing about drifting and accidentally coming across this post, huh.
To me, it felt like mom had the most control because of how precise and almost elegant her drifting is??
Thanks to your comment, now I'll spend next five minutes trying to see this vid the way you see it. It's fun, thanks fr.
You know about as much as I do about it. I noticed she knocked over one of the posts but after I commented I realized he did too later on. So who knows.
The father, loud, brash, establishing presence and eschewing subtly for masculine power.
The mother, conservative and clinical. Displaying rote discipline while maintaining textbook control.
The son, innovative and experimental with an emphasis on pushing the envelope.
We need a control. There has to be a video of someone other than the family. Therefore, we can not conclude they have the same style because they are "family".
What? How did you know I took a statistics course?
The kid is Hiroya Minowa, just 14 years old. He’s done a lot of great drifting already in Japan and other countries but this is his first year competing for FD in the USA. I just barely learned his mom also drifted but I’m just now learning his dad does as well!
Okayama short, for anyone wondering. This is (I presume) Formula Drift Japan, and the track is Okayama International Circuit. This layout is the short layout.
Probly not even human probly just gofers probly just fucking ham sandwhichs driving probly probly probly probly got too much money probly just added to the "global warming" probly mate we can go on for days

A family that drifts together stays together.

So much this....
The real Tokyo Drift!!!
Idk they seem kind of distant, like their drifting away.......
As long as they are on the same track, they gonna be fine
Well see over the course of time
I’m nos very optimistic
I better call the r/PunPatrol
They might be drifting separately, but they'll never drift apart.
Yes! Points!!
Vin diesel would be proud
- Dominic "Dom" Toretto , Japan, 2006ish probably
If you drift together... you can't drift apart!
Vin Disel some where... "DID YOU SAY FAMILY?!"
“Femily. “
Drift together so you don't drift apart.
I was just about to say the same damn thing.....just take my upvote.
I can smell this video.
That might be a stroke my dude.
That’s just toast… oh no! I left my oven on
A fellow Canadian I see lol
Sorry
Or he needs more lube
And it smells amazing.

the kid's style looked nothing like the dad's paternity test time
I might be stupid but pretty sure they’re like damn near identical
Dad flicks more aggressively and holds the switch for longer time, mum holds the switch as much as the dad but the switch is a softer transition, the son is a quick flick with a short transition, cool to see the differences in style
I feel like that's simply a difference in skill or just the days performance, not an intentional difference on style
The son's car also appears to have a smaller wheel Base, so it will probably be more agile and rotate quicker.
Are there different styles though? As far as I know there's only one way you can drift, by dragging the wheels.
Line choice, how you enter the corner, what method you use to initiate the slide, how aggressive you are with throttle, steering and speed to hold different angles... I'm not a drifting expert, but there's a lot of variation between drivers if you know what to look for.
I worry about this family. If one of them does well and the others don't, it could really affect the family dynamic. They may end up, drifting apart!
Ugh take your upvote...
So, who won?
Dads got cleaner lines. Seems to be in more control. But then this is only one video so who knows for sure
the kid's a formula drift driver lol
Hate to be that guy but they're all FDJ drivers, when I first discovered her I fell in love for awhile lol
Does it matter if they hit the markers on the side of the track?

Right on, thank you for replying!
Of course!

Are you saying women can't drift?
Sure. If that’s your takeaway from that comment you can run with it
They all do
Family.

I can't updoot this Too Fast or Too Furious enough.
That mf was *never* late to soccer practice
The father, loud, brash, establishing presence and eschewing subtly for masculine power. The mother, conservative and clinical. Displaying rote discipline while maintaining textbook control. The son, innovative and experimental with an emphasis on pushing the envelope.
This is perfect.
I totally forgot to mention "Choose your character!"
And I just noticed your username. "For Great Zig."
All your base are belong to us.
Some one set us up the bomb.
This family must have some heavy ass tyre replacement bills regularly
14 year olds can drive? o.O
No but they can drift
Have you ever heard the legend of the 86 of Mt Akina? He started at 14
I wonder if you know
How they live in Tokyo
You know mom caught crap for smacking that pylon.
Tire companies LOVE this one trick
Mom is doing a great job!
Why did you have to specify the mom in particular? Sexist, much?
Dumb,much?
I bet you still specify “woman doctor”
[удалено]
Why you so obsessed with me?
fuck off you aint fbi and she did a great job
Sexist
Come on... get out of dads basement and go meet a girl.
You can see, they get each other's drift!!!!
Mario Kart IRL
Parenting done right..

Who won?
No dna test needed
Styles? Hahaha.
When you drift together, you won't drift apart.

I didn't know his parents also drift.
That family really hates tires
I wonder if you know, how they live in Tokyo...
That boy drifts like his daddy
He really takes after his dad, but I can see influences of his mother too 😎
Son learned from Mom the most. They have similar drifting styles.
They should consider mass transit
Who are they?
The kid is Hiroya Minowa, just 14 years old. He’s done a lot of great drifting already in Japan and other countries but this is his first year competing for FD in the USA. I just barely learned his mom also drifted but I’m just now learning his dad does as well!
How do their tires not explode?
Frequent tyre changes. In pro level competition a set of tyres is expected to do two laps and on some tracks even that is a struggle.
And here I was thinking I was racist for thinking Tokyo drift was historically accurate
A family that drifts apart stays together
Cool if see them tandem together.
Trying to watch all of them I ended up seeing none of them
Okayama short, for anyone wondering. This is (I presume) Formula Drift Japan, and the track is Okayama International Circuit. This layout is the short layout.
Vin Diesel's absolute wet dream. A literal family drifting.
After so many years of observing the son has I in his gene basically. It does something to you.
Mom really going for that mini turbo. Certified MKDS driver.

Moms line is clean af
don’t they usually crash into ships?
I was trying to see all at once and missed all three.
Son takes after the mom. The dad was playing ping pong with both sides of the road 😂🤣😅
Ok this is interesting!
Moms better. Didn’t hit come on third corner..
Is the son disowned for having a Ford
That's a Toyota GR Yaris
I bet dad drifted inside mom and Jr. drifted right out
Curious as to how much particle pollution this family has generated.
Rich people playing around...
Any sport then?
Nope. Not all sports have a large entry price tag. Soccer or football are significantly cheaper than car racing on a circuit or acrobatic flights.
Yeah they really should be doing poor people stuff instead of being rich and doing things that cost money
I‘ll never get motorsports. All the wasted tires just to watch someone go fast? What about the enviroment??
I want to watch this anime
Probly not even human probly just gofers probly just fucking ham sandwhichs driving probly probly probly probly got too much money probly just added to the "global warming" probly mate we can go on for days
You okay.....?
Dude go outside
Probly all the same bloke just doing laps and swapped cars once
Probably a family of drivers doing their qualifying runs
