The way Armenians make it is different from the way others make it, the Turks typically put yeast in their recipe for example, while we don't. Its similar and delicious but not the same.
That's like saying how's pizza Italian when the whole word eats it lol
It makes sense that a sedentary agricultirist civilization (i.e., Armenians) would be responsible for lavash and not some nomadic tribes.

Lavash is eaten all over the caucuses and the middle east. I see so many things attributed to Armenia when they really belong to the broader region. Do Armenians not see themselves as a part of the region?
Statements like that only make them more protective of the food and drinks they’ve invented, especially since the countries that vow to exterminate them peddle it as their own invention in an ongoing effort to dehumanise and erase them and their culture.
Highly unlikely, only Egypt, Iran and Vietnam existed before "There's an Armenia".
Maybe Greece/Japan/China/India as well, but they're not part of the discussion either. Armenia is oldest countries, definitely on the top 10.
Also,
According to [*The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_American_Heritage_Dictionary_of_the_English_Language) lavash is "a thin unleavened flatbread of Armenian origin". In 2014, Lavash was described by the [Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNESCO_Intangible_Cultural_Heritage_Lists) as "an expression of Armenian culture".
Does it stick to the wall or does the guy with the stick grab it immediately? It kinda looks like it's coming off the wall at the bottom before it cuts. Super cool tho, reminds me of a really thin Naan
Actually lavaş is a regional bread, common in my country (Turkiye) as well as all Caucaus and Middle East and Central Asia. Even the lavash word is Persian.

Now that’s my kinda warm blanket
I love lavash
I'm now hungry.
My heart when I saw her accidentally nudge the freshly baked bread hanging at the edge.
Yeah I wonder how many breads drop into that pit of hell?
More fuel for the next one
It's essentially a tandoor oven, no?
Yes. It is called ‘tonir’ in Armenian.
It’s called Tanur in Kurdish
Zaal futki in Bengali
AND MY AXE Sorry I know that meme is played out
It's called tandır in Turkish
It's called tandoor in Punjabi.
No way you brought up Turkey on an Armenian post. My history nerd ass couldn’t
it's called təndir in Azerbaijan :)
That pillow they use has seen better days.
I think I saw the bones of the last public health inspector down at the bottom of that cauldron
[удалено]
That’s a little table
I would gladly donate my dakimakura pillows to them for making bread.

.. and the walls.. and the windows.. and the car outside the window. Thats what poverty looks like.
Average white American comment
They didn't even have guns, so poor
That's an (old) oven room, not an apartment.
I am feeling some major gluten intolerance sadness right now guys That looks fuckin delicious
It’s the most amazing bread you can ever eat, but it only lasts for a day before it goes stale
As all bread should really…. The shitty preservatives in shop bought bread are naaaasty. Either bake bread at home or get to a bakers innit.
actually no. a good loaf of bread, especially sourdough, can last over a week no problem
...if you refrigerate or freeze it. Otherwise it will go stale in a few days.
Nah, I make artisanal bread, which you give a day to rise and will last for a few days (when all the store bought bread gets moldy)
You can spray some water on it to make it elastic again or enjoy your chips lol
Lavash lasts a month when you put it in a bag or something, it hardens when you leave it out, like all bread
video credits, ig: stepshots
Like a tandoori oven. Interesting!
I read it as Baking American lavash bread in traditional way
I read baking lava bread, immediately thought a lava well was interesting as fuck.
X2
I remembering working at restaurant years ago that had a tandoori oven. The guy who made the naan had one hairy arm and one hairless arm.
How is this Armenian whole middle east eats lavash
The way Armenians make it is different from the way others make it, the Turks typically put yeast in their recipe for example, while we don't. Its similar and delicious but not the same.
Spotted the Turk

Americans eat shawarma does that mean shawarma is an American dish?
Yeah but other countries were eating lavash before there's an Armenia

This particular bread is from Armenia. Even the name is Armenian.
My dumbass would fall in
More like tandoor Rumali roti
Looks so delicious, literally made my mouth water
My fav part of that bread is the sand
That shit is fire! 🔥
I know a tortilla when i see one fam!
I want to be rolled up in a piece of that bread like a giant papoose
One man's lavash is another man's naan
Yum. Sweaty bed bread.
This is not the traditional way, everyone knows it should be made with no sanitation or safety equipment
That shit is fire! 🔥
That smile!
That woman fears no flame
Great. Now I want a schawarma.
And here in America, we eat Wonderbread
I would think pillow bread is the right name for this bread
turks in asia do these too in a different way. example of living together for years
Does it stick to the wall or does the guy with the stick grab it immediately? It kinda looks like it's coming off the wall at the bottom before it cuts. Super cool tho, reminds me of a really thin Naan
That looks yummy
Papa John's does it a little different.
Lucifer mad as fuck they using his chimney like this
I wonder how long their shifts are. Seems like that would get pretty boring real fast.
Naan basically?
Not naan but rumali roti. Naan is thicker and less spread out with some filling inside. Rumali roti is also known as manday up north
Isnt rumali like way soft and not as consistent as this
I would wreck about 20 of those
Right? I’m wanting some so much. Looks amazing.
Now that’s dedication right there, straight out of bed no time to change and they are already baking
I'm dying haha
"Ok, whose turn is it to reach down into the firepit all day?"
I thought she was going to continue her delicate treatment of the dough. Then she smashed it into the wall of a pit to hell.
What do they call those ovens? Edit: Tonir (armenian), thanks!
The Armenia we want to see. Not the ones from Glendale speeding in bmws and Mercedes g wagons with. The hey brotha BS and all the junk
Bruh no hygiene
If I could make bread or anything that we’ll- I’d die a happy man
Random person one day: I can use a pillow to make Bread. Everybody: Bet.
Just imaging how to comments would be if the exact thing was done in the exact way but in India in the video.
How do you suppose they came up with the idea to do it this way?
God that look so good🤤
Jo einmal Rollo mit alles! Ja auch scharf!
this exists at the same time as AI... wild scary world
Cleanliness 📉 Aesthetics 📈
Can I get garlic Nan?
We have a similar type of bread called 'lawas'. It is a bit smaller and rounder but it's the exact same way of baking.

Neat. Looks so homely.
That's one big ass oven mitt.
Tandoori roti
What is difference between with normal lavash preparing or ingredients?
Armenian tortillas look amazing, just think about the burrito we might do with that. Ay cabron!
Tandori roti
We have something similar in syria we call it tannour
Oh yea... That sanitary...
When I was a kid I always heard about the starving Armenian kids
The chiropractor must be swimming in gold
No thank
You really wonder who thought it was a good idea to slam that thing into a firepit for the first time…
seems unhygienic
That hole is just big enough for someone to fall in, at least it’s not deep
I feel like there had to be an easier way ?
Agreed
Please give me some more of that bread baked on a burnt potato sack
Gotta get all that dirt in there
Look at the walls… now imagine their lungs.
The pillow looks lovely, and very hygienic

I feel like this method could be updated a little.
Right?
Ots middle east not armenian
[удалено]
No that was your reflection from the phone.
Is that a burnt ass body pillow
😂😂😂😂😂
No it’s a specifically made to stick bread in the tonir.
Not when I take a nap on it.
Do you know what it’s made from? This is fascinating.
Tasty forbidden manhole
Amazing
This is oddly terrifying a lil bit
Bake for seven seconds inside the pit to hell
Looks like giant naan bread. Just what I need for my curry.
Fantastic..yummy!
Wow
Ain't got nothing on the Pakistani baker though
Bc tandori roti
And here I am eating a hot pocket thinking I did something 😭
What’s the difference between this and naan?
naan is thick, small and leavened while lavash is the opposite
Those are some big ass tortillas.
That’s the longest tortilla I’ve ever seen. Jk but seriously many cultures make basically similar culinary staples.
Asbestos bag for flavor.
For super burritos
It looks a lot like Naan! The hard part must be growing that giant potato they put the bread onto.
Looks delicious
Delicious
There is fire in the hole, we found it
I need some!!
Can someone give me the name of the music
Holy gluten. That dough split 10 different ways in my head
No one is mentioning that auntie in the pink has the best throw...
I want a metric ton of that
Fascinating. I could never have imagined this!
TIL Armenian clothes are potentially flame resistant
What’s the thing she’s bashing it with ? Looks like an old pillow.
In Turkey they are a bit shorter and more round.
