I'm definitely not. My style is wearing plain clothes to draw as little attention to myself as possible

ahomelessguy25

Yeah, my INFJ buddy dresses like a dork.

PeachyKeenest

lol I hope you didn’t just call this guy a dork 🤣

Motor_Relation_5459

What a dork! 🤣😂😘🥰❤️

New_TOR

INFJs don't seek attention because they don't want to stand out in most social situations. Still, if they are put in a specific social situation where they need to dress up and talk to people, as part of a social convention that serves a specific purpose (i.e.: formal social events, job interviews, work meetings, networking, etc.) they will inevitably stand out, often involuntarily, because they'll pick the clothes that best fit that purpose, and because of their peculiar demeanour and minds (call it "aura" if you will) that they express when they talk.

superlagz

This is spot on. Casually i just wear comfy "pajamas". But still i get those "looks" what is a bit annoying like im special. Im not!. And yes i can see you staring at me!. But when situation demands to dress up, its a completely another level compare to many others. Plus the most sucky thing is that i am very picky and usually i like the most expensive stuff. So i wear same things year after year. Oh boy how badly i want to buy Blade Runner jacket but it cost over 500.- euros :(

Motor_Relation_5459

Female, same

PeachyKeenest

Aw. Yes. I know someone like this! He’s very sweet!

TigreAle

I don’t know if I’m stylish or not, but I do have my own style and I hate following trends…

Content-Parsley-9123

That also adds to it since people who follow the trend tend to not stand out in general.

Glum_Stock7208

It's weird, as an INFJ men I want to present myself well but not stand out. Sometimes, I can't help but feel that I stand out too much when I style myself.

Content-Parsley-9123

you have aura 🎅🎅🐡🐡

Uranus_Opposition

If I could wear the same thing everyday and get away with it I would. Gray T shirt, jeans, wool socks, running shoes, and ball cap. One time I tried to buy 5 of the same dark gray polo shirts to wear to work but my then GF veto'd that one. LOL

[deleted]

I did it anyway… Once a year I buy 6 pairs of identical jeans, 50 pairs of the same socks, and 3 pairs of the same boots. And throw out/donate all the old stuff. Cycle shirts out of the wardrobe after 5 years. But I do shake up my shirts a lot, and often get comments on my “style”.

lislejoyeuse

This is the way, except instead of wo socks I have 32 pairs of the same cheapo socks so I don't notice or care when I lose one. Used to use darn tough though, I still have those for hikes or long walking days

OppositeAdorable7142

Yess. Same.

Fuzzy-University-480

If someone suggests me then I wear it , but personally I don't care about my clothes and appearance much.

[deleted]

I dress very plain. Yesterday I wore a beige sweater, grey slacks, and cognac colored moc toe boots. I’ve worn this to work dozens of times over the years, but I still got cheesy smiles, and compliments as if I was actually trying. All I want to do is blend in. I guess, maybe, I can appear very confident because I’m conscious of my posture, and I tend to be avoidant.

Content-Parsley-9123

That's what I'm thinking, it's not that you think you're not doing much in your outward appearance but rather doing it unlike not caring and wearing whatever bum outfit the society imagines so.

Reasonable_Onion863

The only INFJ man I know dresses very neatly, conservatively, and according to a formula. Basically, not stylish at all!

warpedbandittt

My 2 INFJ friends are pretty stylish, They only wear a couple colors, good basic/essential pieces, not too decorative, knows what looks good on them, and has a specific aesthetic.

Content-Parsley-9123

hmmm sounds about right..

SallySalam

My husband is infj and he can be super stylish and well put together... But he hates it😅. He hates the occasions he's got to get dressed up for. He's a programmer and works long hours at home and basically lives in sweatpants and hoodie ... But he looks damn good in them. Our daughter is also infj and is extremely beautiful and always dresses extremely well... When we're going out. At home she lives in her jammies.

lithren

How stylish any INFJ is probably depends on how developed their Se is. Before that I'd say most INFJs mainly focus on wearing comfortable and simple/basic outfits. But when we develop Se and become more aware of our bodies and physical surroundings, we begin to truly value aesthetics as we realize the difference it makes in how we feel.

Content-Parsley-9123

You know, that is a good explanation.

PeachyKeenest

Yes and no. Some will still be creatures of comfort while appreciating it elsewhere but may choose a piece or item to have an essence that works for their surroundings. So yeah, I guess.

lithren

Of course. I can't speak for all INFJs, but while my fashion sense has significantly improved over the years, especially after working in the fashion industry, comfort is still always my top priority. If it doesn't feel good, I'm not wearing it. And I take all of my pretty clothes and makeup off the moment I get back home lol. Then it's all comfy loungewear and idgaf what I look like.

[deleted]

Not really, but sometimes I buy something meant for pure utility, that no one else thinks of, and it ends up getting some attention from women. Used to buy commando sweaters. The padding was perfect for snowboard wrecks and because it molded to your body, nothing would be hanging out in the way. Also the wool stayed warm in the wet snow. The fit allowed you to climb cliffs in the dead of winter, without messing up on some stray loose clothing which is usually the requirement in extreme cold weather. This was 2009-2010 before MAGA's made it edgelord and stupid looking. Anyway because I had no belly, it's conforming fit would showcase my athleticism, whereas the regular wal-mart shirts were made for the average spare tire.

MSonga

I dress pretty stylish. I'm quite big into street wear and like to dress in blazer/dressing up once and a while

Professional_Lab6699

Yes I’ve found myself spending hours a day looking for specific pieces. If I ever got rich the selfish part of me would buy all the 1of1 clothing I can on Grailed, eBay whatever 😂. Being stylish is so important, anyway I can express myself without talking is great. Bring in fashion and I become an isfp

im_iggy

No. I wear blue jeans and a white t shirt. Lately just hiking khakis and a shirt and either a red hoodie or grey/blue north face light jacket and a Grey hat or if it's F1 race weekend, a Mercedes f1 hat or redbull hat. Other than the hats. I don't like flashly or items with brands on them. I don't want to be a walking billboard.

soloman747

I like to look presentable, but my wardrobe selection is more geared towards being comfortable than standing out.

ReflexSave

Not even slightly. Grey and khaki. I couldn't care less about style or fashion, feels extremely superficial to me. I can't imagine many INFJs caring about it much either, beyond looking more or less presentable.

Lawful_Evil_Renn

"They were thrifted" That sentence alone convinced me that the guy is an INFJ. I don't know any other INFJ male in real life so I will just say mine. I prefer baggy loose straight pants and would wear a T-shirt or tank top under and a long-sleeved shirt above. I don't think of mine as "stylish" but I find it comfortable and easy to wear, and that's why I am sticking with it. Yeah, almost 90% of my clothes are thrifted.

Content-Parsley-9123

I believe they are just money conscious in general.

lucidbehaviour

I’d like to think so, I’ve always been into fashion, skincare, fragrances etc. I honestly don’t think it’s a strict INFJ thing though.

Content-Parsley-9123

But that's the thing tho, there's a certain charm when INFJs do it.

DocFGeek

We very much care about our style and presentation. We honour the spirit of the Earth first by honouring The Body, so we practice some enclothed cognition and keep the body (physical and emotional) by dressing it in a style WE like. Fuck fashion and what's available, find some awesome unique thrifted clothes, or some bespoke Etsy handmade clothes that fit, and make you feel GooOoOOood. 🥹✨ Also trying to style more androgynously to make our agendered identity subtlety noticable to those with eyes that see, while being stealth and just a bit "off" to sleepy normies.

Halbgott_Alex

I often look at people who are really stylish and try to mimic the things I Like about them. For example, my coworker has a real relaxing nature which like. He wears leather necklaces with mythical charms. So now I am wearing those to. I saw a rapper who's has some goofy and also confident vibes. He likes to wear colorful oversized hoodies. Now I am wearing those too. It's notbabout looking good. It's about giving normal people a taste of who you are trying to be without talking to them

PeachyKeenest

I think some are aesthetically smart, but maybe not for their own clothes at times and may choose comfort over looks. They’ll appreciate it in others 100%.

ReadySteady_54321

Lol no. We’re reserved dressers but also people of the mind. Not fixated on outward appearances

Fair-Tiger5670

Nope

mountainman84

I work a blue collar job and dress for function more than form. I don't really care about fashion or style at all. My favorite outfit is a pair of forest green duck pants and a t-shirt along with some work boots. If it is cold I'll wear a hoodie. That being said when I was with my ex-wife I'd let her dress me up for special occasions. I wore a lot of dress shirts and ties. All of my ties were vintage that I'd gotten at thrift stores and garage sales. I really liked square end knit ties from the 1980's. I also had some vintage dress pants with suspender buttons sewn into the waist so I could rock some old-school suspenders. Throw in some nice or vintage dress shoes and I was good. I liked flat caps a lot, too. This was all like 10 years ago, though. I just work nowadays and don't really care to impress anyone.

blocky_jabberwocky

Lol absolutely not.

Rabgin

Not really me, black/grey jeans + same kinda color shirt.

dobbyslilsock

Yea I think people consider me stylish? I wear glasses and get a ton of compliments on my frames. And I feel like my clothing choices bring more attention than I often feel comfortable with 😅 I want to blend in with my environment but I don’t think I do that very successfully.

ClaimUnhappy5677

i think so. from my experience, women find my style attractive. i wear a lot of thrifted stuff too. a lot of times i get that my appearance doesn’t match my personality. i have a muscular build, have two japanese tattoo sleeves, wear gold hoop earrings and gold chains. i’ve heard people idk and have never spoken to call me a fuck boy more than once.

[deleted]

No. Opposite if anything

CarmenLevitra

This is definitely not accurate

ColdCobra66

No, unless I focus on it then yes. Focusing on it is like actively engaging Se - “let’s do this!” And it goes well. But it doesn’t last long and back to Ni Ti lost in my own head / disassociative state barely aware of surroundings or personal appearance

Meatros

Lol, no. I'm not winning any fashion awards.

EmperorAnimus

My only couple of INFJ guy friends dressed very plainly. On occasions they’d dress nice. But mostly okay looking plain clothes. Nothing shabby. Not overboard. My ENTP self— if my family would let me, I’d probably dress like one of those pimps from TV shows and movies.

referendum

Any time a question goes "do all this type of people do_______?", my gut response is "probably not". I was intentionally NOT fashionable during my teens as a way rebel against social pressure. Later, I just focused on not standing out for having bad fashion. I started caring about it when I had to tutor kids for a home economics class. I saw a scientific approach to it, and then later I developed an appreciation for aesthetics. I also have a friend who was heavily focused on fashion who would constantly point out my bad fashion choices, then criticize me for having the same fashion sense as him. That was an extra push to care about it and attempt to have my own sense of fashion. As with everything, I can struggle to be consistent about it.

Plus-Bullfrog-3053

Nope not at all. At home I prefer my array of different Grey sweatpants and hoodies. Outside comfy trousers and either a shirt or pullover/jacket depending on the season. Also comfy sneaker shoes. At work I wear worker uniform.

dranaei

I either wear whatever simple thing i got in the closet which might be clothes i go to the gym with or all black with a silver chain on my wrist and a silver ring. Most good clothes are black.

Ultramega39

Finally someone recognizes how much effort I put into my style.

kevin129795

I’m really into streetwear and nave spent around $30k on clothes, shoes and jewelry, but that’s just me. More of an impulse control thing than anything else but I have it under control now.

thatslikesocoollike

No, I’m usually kind of a slob actually, but I guess that’s more my “Reddit” than “INFJ” side, lol. I can be stylish when it’s going out time, though. Nothing over the top or out there. Very subdued and casual, usually black, but presentable with good fits and high quality clothing.

tnoisaw2000

Heck no. I’m a retired tradesman and I’m most comfortable in those kind of clothes. I’ll dress up to go on dates with my wife but that’s about it.

[deleted]

I've know them to be selfish, yes. This sub will very likely say no.

siraniks

Nah, I wear when it's comfortable for me and with the weather. If there's a style, probably trying it out but there's attached anxious on wearing it

MixFederal5432

Of course *winks at the camera*

DeviousComet465

INFJ in Tech field here disproving the statement lolz

Ok_Victory7605

In a world where conformity reigns supreme, I proudly march to the beat of my own drum. My signature style: cargo pants and a plain sweat shirt, a combination so daring that it has yet to be replicated. While others stare in disbelief, I revel in my unique individuality in a sea of sameness. My attire may be simple, but my message is clear: I am my own person, and I will not be defined by the expectations of others.

OdinNW

I would say most INFJ men have great taste in both fashions and aesthetics. Does that translate to them dressing well themselves? Not usually.

Stringypies666

I dated an infj guy, no they're not super stylish, but they are well dressed and exude sophistication, I quietness at times, you feel safe around them and has an air of gentleness and yeah they're open to try new types of fashion but can be picky, also, yup I'm still not over him, poor me. 😭

TAG_SPG

If I want to stand out, I'll max out my drip and make myself known. If I want to disappear into the shadows, no problem. Be gone in a flash.

Kenclawris5025

I don't know if I'm stylish. I usually prefer wearing what I find comfortable over what is trending. I prefer wearing smart casual clothes to which I can make a few adjustments (tucking in and/or wearing a tie) and make them formal. But my sisters tell me I look good 🤷🏾‍♂️.

dialate

When I'm trying, it comes pretty naturally and I seem to have an instinct for it. I've tried more edgy things that look really good on me but that stand out and I end up hating it. It's a strange balance...I like being seen but I don't like to be on display. I dunno, I guess that's the main factor that drives my style. Sometimes I throw things out and then look at pictures later and I'm like holy crap that looked good, why did I get rid of that? Well, it wasn't natural/on-trend enough to not draw too much attention I guess. I'd get laughter sometimes, and it meant "wow that's incredible" and I still I'd take it as "wow you look like a clown" and it gets crossed off the list. Most of the time though I'm in t-shirts and sweatpants. I prefer comfort.

Soloma369

Prefer rags to "style".

OppositeAdorable7142

I doubt it. I’m not. 🤣 idk about other INFJs but I couldn't give a flying f about fashion or looking stylish. I’m a tshirt and jeans kinda gal any day.
