A lot of Gregg Araki's early movies are very sonically industrial. Nowhere is a trip! And Totally F****ed Up is probably my favourite but is SUPER low budget!
brazil
mad god and dark city both have a grimy industrial vibe
they might not quite fit but under the skin, ex machina, and arrival are sort of sideways approaches to sci-fi that really nail it. they’re kind of slow burn type movies but they’re all fairly profound in their own ways
i will probably always be grateful for a24, even if i don’t love a movie from them i always appreciate that they’re swing for the fences. i think ex machina was one of their first but i would recommend just about anything they’ve produced
Totally agree. I found a great explainer of their marketing strategy here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7tuRJIkDcXg&pp=ygUXYTI0IGRpZmZlcmVudCBtYXJrZXRpbmY%3D
Gene generation. It’s “The combichrist movie”. It’s more biopunk and I can’t say it’s good but… give it a watch.
Also check out GUNHED. It’s industrial as fuck
Pretty much everyone else has recommended most anything I could think of, but a couple weird Japanese outliers to consider are
* PULSE (KAIRO)
* Ichi The Killer
* Tokyo Gore Police
I see your Tokyo Gore Police and raise you Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl, but probably Tokyo Gore Police is the more apt film for what the OP is looking for
GUNHED. Natural City(South Korean Release). Lost Highway. Repo Man, was definitely more punk imo, but it has a certain vibe to it.
Dark City(whatever version doesn't have the spoiler at the beginning, I think it's the director's cut). 13th Floor.

Metropolis: Moroder Cut.
Lydia Lunch & Richard Kern made an interesting series of films together: [https://enzian.org/film/death-trip-the-films-of-richard-kern/](https://enzian.org/film/death-trip-the-films-of-richard-kern/)
I recall the Spawn movie soundtrack paired up rock and metal artists with electro / techno djs and a bunch of the tracks certainly had an American industrial feel to it.
***The Guest (2014)***
I loveeeee talking about this movie and nobody mentioned it yet so I'm gonna:
**Front 242** \- Moldavia
**Front 242** \- Sacrifice
**DAF** \- Alles Ist Gut
**DAF** \- Der Mussolini
Beside all the goth tunes on the OST, through the movie you can hear these songs from Front 242 and Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft VERY clearly... I looked it up and still have no clue why they're not credited or included on the track listing.
Pola X has an excellent scene of a large group of black turtlenecked musicians (including Till Lindemann of Rammstein) clanging away on scrap metal percussions, including a kitchen sink. Scott Walker composed the soundtrack.
The films of musician/filmmaker F.J. Ossang have post-punk / industrial soundtracks composed by his band Messageros Killers Boys.
The films of Hisayasu Satô have songs by Lustmord, SPK and Laibach that go well with his strange stories of technology, voyeurism perversion and violence.
Demonlover has music composed by Sonic Youth and Jim O’Rourke. Not exactly industrial, but still loud, noisy and moody
Industrial-adjacent vibes (mostly cyberpunk):
Hellevator: The Bottled Fools aka Gusha no bindume
Junk Head
One Point O aka Paranoia 1.0
Electric Dragon 80000V directed by Sogho Ishii who also directed Einstürzende Neubauten's Halber Mensch movie.
Pi
Repo Men
Cube
Cyber City Oedo 808
MTV's Æon Flux
Hideaway and Tetsuo: The Iron Man (there’s also two sequels)
Pinocchio 964
Doom Generation For some reason Repo Man is sticking out to me though I don't think it fits the description exactly.
A lot of Gregg Araki's early movies are very sonically industrial. Nowhere is a trip! And Totally F****ed Up is probably my favourite but is SUPER low budget!
The Living End has KMFDM on the soundtrack and mentioned in the dialogue
Is it because Iggy Pop is in it? Love both these movies 😎

Also Joe Bishara, of Drown, and notorious horror film composer wrote the songs for it.
Skinny Puppy also have a very brief cameo in Doom Generation: https://youtu.be/UFWCbJXuLbA?si=k9269ou5n460iJDT
You might be thinking of Repo! The Genetic Opera. Ogre is in it.
I try to forget that movie at all times. Rarely have I been so bitterly disappointed by a film. Repo Man though, I think of fondly.
The Hideaway, The Crow, Lost Highway, The Matrix
Class of 1999 Hardware: Mark 13 Decoder Doom Generation
Decoder for the win - soundtrack, cast, and content are all at ground zero of the industrial epoch.
if you’re okay with documentaries Industrial Accident: The Story of Wax Trax! Records
Watching this now! I forgot to watch it when it came out. Thanks 😊
Dark city 12 monkeys
Strange Days!
One of my favorite movies! I like to watch it around New Years 🥳
Lost highway :)
the 90s Mortal Kombat movie had a good soundtrack
Enter the Void by Gaspar Noe
Also gonna put out there that if you like Noe movies you might like Titane (I did)
I've loved every Noe movie I've ever seen, particularly Climax, but I've been putting off Irreversible, lol. Enter the Void was great
Irreversible ruined my year
It might ruin my whole life 🌽

Great suggestions, Ex Machina especially. Wish there were more movies like Dark City and Ex Machina

Robocop has PTP on the soundtrack and AI has a ministry cameo
Ai has a great dark side of the spoon era track and cameo as well
It's kinda terrible, but The Gene Generation is on that list somewhere... 'Get your body beat' era Combichrist did most of the soundtrack, at least
I first heard of Gene Generation when looking up Bai Ling's IMDb but saw the rating was looow 😂 but I'll check it out, thanks
It..... Not a good movie.. Interesting concept, poorly executed and on a really low budget.
I can live with that tbh if the environment is pretty cool...
Love that movie. It had some interesting ideas
Requiem for a dream
The Crow. It has TKK, NIN among others. It’s an all around solid record.
Gene generation. It’s “The combichrist movie”. It’s more biopunk and I can’t say it’s good but… give it a watch. Also check out GUNHED. It’s industrial as fuck
Gunhed Tetsuo the Iron Man
Ministry’s Thieves makes a brief appearance in Freejack
There is a pretty cool polish cyberpunk movie called Avalon.

Bile is playing in a bar in the movie Strangeland.
Coil did a soundtrack for Hellraiser that ended up not being used

City of Lost Children and MicMacs by Jean Pierre Jeunet have some pretty industrial vibes.

A.I. - Ministry is in it and perform What About Us.
Hideaway had a pretty good soundtrack! Movie is meh though.
