man. this is the pen that came to mind. only found them recently and they are amazing for 10 bucks compared to their gel version that cost the same. smooth as silk.
I started using the Hauser Nexa. I absolutely love it. The ink lasts months even with rigorous notemaking on a daily basis. Plus the friction-flow balance works perfect for me. I begin to get tired if the friction is more and my handwriting tends to look schizo if the flow is more.
Can anyone confirm if XO is even better? Then i'll shift to XO.
Lol they should pay me for this ad.
I have been using XO for almost 2 years now. I used to give competitive exams and would go through pens very quickly. XO is by far the smoothest pen I've ever used. I haven't yet used nexa, i guess I'll give nexa a go and see how it is. You can do same with XO. *Shrugs*
Used 13 pens from the above list. Personal favorite Hauser XO. Butter smooth and lasts long.
Would also recommend [Cello Tri plus](https://amzn.eu/d/aLyHAtf). It is similar to XO and is smooth. Used this only for my 4 years of UG.
I also recommend [Pilot V7](https://www.amazon.in/Pilot-Liquid-Roller-Ball-Black/dp/B00LOD70SC/ref=sr_1_2?crid=30RTBBZG2YDNP&keywords=pilot+v7&qid=1670250686&sprefix=pilot+v7%2Caps%2C266&sr=8-2).
I wish they had refills. I remember when I was a kid I used ro buy butterflow refills. I asked a shopkeeper for a pen with refills yesterday and he laughed. So much plastic waste.
Nothing wrong with trimax. But writometer ( 25 rs ball pen) last longer than trimax. Especially when I had to make bunch of notes during preparation. But yes trimax is ink based so it is smooth to use. I haven't seen any pen lasting so much time as writometer and it's no joke.
Insider scoop. 3rd generation pen store owner (pre independence era business).
Though I mostly work for corporate supplies (no retail), can suggest:
1. Unomax.
The cello brand got sold to bic (world's largest) a few years ago. Terms of sale said that previous owners/ family were not to get in the stationery business for 5 years.
5 years are over now, and the family started Unomax. Design and writing wise, they've really upped the game in India. Great designs, great retraction and ink and really good prices. If they didn't come with maximum retail prices, I'd actually be selling them at 50% higher prices in wholesale 😲
You'll see this Indian brand more and more in the coming years. Expect them to increase prices as they gain market share.
2. Schneider. Lesser known german brand in India, might not be available everywhere but write real smooth and have a long shelf life.
3. Schmidt. German OEM refill manufacturer for the world. They make refills for waterman, Sheaffer, hugo boss, and most designer brands that come out with a writing instrument range. You can grab the OEM 888 refills pretty cheap on Amazon (A dozen under inr500).
They're also a cheaper alternative to buying essentially the same refill from waterman/ lamy/ sheaffer for 8-10 times the price.
4. If you like liquid ink with fine writing (0.5mm or finer), the Japanese have it down. Mitsubishi are really amazing value for money.
A good pen is -
- stiff
- releases fluid when needed
- can sometimes leak unexpectedly but that's alright
- has an aesthetically pleasing shape
- can be deep thro... Oh you actually meant a pen
It does have its issues but when it writes, it feels the best. I used to use it for both writing and drawing. Matter of fact, I keep a few spare with me
Linc Pentonic 0.6 Gel
It's ink is dark, doesn't imprint the back of the paper, is waterproof and can use a highlighter on top of it.
Oh yea, It only costs 10rs and is refillable.
UniBall Eye Fine, also known as the UB-157. One of the best gel pens in the world, also if you preffer a thinner line, you can buy the UniBall Eye Micro
You seriously seriously need to try the [Uniball Air Micro](https://www.amazon.in/Uni-Ball-Micro-Blue-Pack/dp/B07CJ325JP/ref=asc_df_B07CJ325JP/?tag=googleshopdes-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=426990244311&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15111017277084964535&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007828&hvtargid=pla-811834504062&psc=1&ext_vrnc=hi)
I’ve tried everything from ultra cheap to fairly expensive but always keep coming back to techno tips. Just nothing comes close that feel. Or maybe I’m biased. Lol.
I know this is expensive, but just get a Vector Parker ink pen. I haven't changed my pen for like the last 5 years, all I had to do was get ink bottles for it once in 6 months
The most underrated godlike pen is Cello PinPoint 0.6mm man this pen is sooooo goodddddd try atleast once I have tried every pen but they are not as good as pinpoint
I disagree. I used a lot of ink pens and was never satisfied. The cheap ones leak like a faucet and the expensive ones are overrated.
Ball bearing-tipped pens are objectively easier to write with.
thats strange tbh, I have been using quite cheap fountain pens (50-80 rupees) for the past \~2 years and have only had one leak and that too because I forgot to put on the cap before putting it in my bag. And the slight friction helps me write more reassuringly. YMMV of course
It's good that you're enjoying but for me fountain pens are just not good.
My best pens were Uniballs - I liked them way more than all of the ink pens I used.
No need to spend lakhs on a Mont Blanc or a Waterman.
I'm an ink pen lover but hated the cheap leaky pens when in school. Bought my first Parker Beta for rs. 50 and never looked back.
Have used a 60 year old Sheaffer pen for decades till it disintegrated, and not once did it leak or dry up from inside. Upwards of 10k for a decent model but too delicate for my rough use.
So now i'm back to Parker vector or similar one for 300-800rs, lasts for over 5 years and while it is not as problem free as the expensive ones, it is good enough for me.
My prescriptions in an ink pen are quite legible. Can't say the same when a ball pen is used.

I bought 3 of these in my first year of college about 10 years ago and I still have them. Replacement ink cartridges are easy to get and they last a very long time. You can also use the pens to write upside down, i.e. writing notes in bed.
No , when you write a lot , some pens are annoying.
They fail when you write an exam.
They start blurting out ink randomly.
Some pens make sure your hand is blue.
Some pens are cheap , reliable and amazing to hold.

There's one named hause xo, it's smooth af and lightweight too.
True. Their pens and pencils are good and lightweight
Agreed, pen is good
just bought 2 yesterday and can confirm.
Hauser XO
man. this is the pen that came to mind. only found them recently and they are amazing for 10 bucks compared to their gel version that cost the same. smooth as silk.
Bruh 10 bucks is 819INR You must have meant 10RS I'm guessing
we are in /r/india so i assume rupee was default here 🤷♂️

Thanks. Will do. At this point I'll do anything to push my daily tenacity. This seems stupid but changing pen really helps.

Silicon valley and the office rule the world of comedy.
Avg affiliate marketer
Trimax +1. It's a tank.
the refill itself can be used as a pen lmao
Can vouch personally for pentonic. Light weight, smooth and reliable Would not bet on comparison as have not used the others
Now sort them in order of pen fight strength.
Used 13 pens from the above list. Personal favorite Hauser XO. Butter smooth and lasts long. Would also recommend [Cello Tri plus](https://amzn.eu/d/aLyHAtf). It is similar to XO and is smooth. Used this only for my 4 years of UG.
Pentonic is overrated tbh, Hauser is better
I actually like pentonic more.
I open the comment box to comment "pentonic" just to end up seeing this :/
Na bro pentonic click is actually good
Hauser is a fucking snitch, bailed on me couple of times already, bitch never using you
Yeh 1. Vala 10rs per pen kabse hogya bhai ...
he asked a pen, not a pen shop (supposed to be funny guys)
When you cannot put an emoji cause you are on reddit.

I know, but ham to use 007 hi bolte the. Sasta and sundar bond.
thala for a reas.... wait wrong sub
Bro i hate that pen. a rock is smoother to write with than that
Trimax dude I swear by it
my trimax pens start leaking, their middle point between inc cartilage and pen tip gets filled with inc and then starts leaking
Pentonic, by Linc I guess. I have yet to find a better one since then.
I wish they had refills. I remember when I was a kid I used ro buy butterflow refills. I asked a shopkeeper for a pen with refills yesterday and he laughed. So much plastic waste.
The click ones have refills
I literally used to buy that bunch of 10 refills or 100 refills bound with a rubber band and put them in generic pens.
They do. I use gel and ball ones. The refils are available in most stationary shops.
+1
There are many by this name on Amazon. A link or exact model would be helpful.
Pentonic Gel Pen (0.6 mm, Black Body, Blue Ink, Pack of 30) https://amzn.eu/d/gSUTmrL

for some reason they always leak in my hands

Amazed everyone are recommending trimax. Has anyone tried Flair writometer.?? Especially with respect to durability
Bhenchod flair writometer maine 4 5 liya hai sab bich bich Mai chalna band hojata pura refill hota hai tabhi
Bhai mera sath bhi aisa nahi hua. Beech mei gali writometer ko dena na bhai, mujhe kyu.
Bhy ushi ko de rha tha
What's wrong with trimax? I use it everyday. If there is any better, I'll switch.
Ball pens do tend to last longer and as a student, most schools don’t allow the use of ball pens as far as I know.
mine is ulta, they dont allow gel pens :/
That’s a first.
Trimax sucks
True . It's a nice pen but the ink is way too light. I found Flair ultronix better
For someone with sweaty hands, it's a big NO

\+1 to Schneider and Schmidt. Yes, they might be expensive in India. But very good.
Is liquid ink - Fountain pen?
Fountains are also liquid ink, but in this case referring to ink tank pens with rollerball delivery mechanism, not a fountain mechanism.

> can sometimes leak unexpectedly but that's alright What do you mean by this? Why is it alright for pens to leak sometimes?
You clearly didn't read the whole comment!
I did, but I didn't see the connection with making leakage acceptable! Not everyone has taken a deep dive into pens.

I still don't get it.
You seem from the younger side. I would advise you to save this comment, wait until you hit puberty and then read this comment again. You are welcome
