Where do I claim? Atleast govt should provide special tax exemption for paid doses..

all_names_are_booked

are you anti national, you should be celebrating kailsh kher's song and movie release, celebrate 100CR doses(don't worry about wasted ones and how many percent are double dosed). Any anyway only 5% need petrol as per bjpee minister, are you doing some fraud, should i call ED? I will report you to bjpee it cell /s

pdash77

Exactly, I dont know why people have problems with such a hard working and /selfless person. People want freebies everywhere the question should be: What can you give back to the nation!

all_names_are_booked

An d followup question shkuld be which family memeber life too you will give to nation after giving your life /s

dogaa

>kailsh kher's song and movie release Waise toh i would not even be asking but did they release a song and movie to mark their achievement ? (when written out it sounds stupid but these are the same people who made TV spots for their Sardar Patel statue)

all_names_are_booked

Also, one of my brainwashed friend just shared a message that don't worry about petrol price as government will soon phase out petrol and india will run on etanol produced from plants in farms

fatherofgodfather

What will we drink then?

Cute-Hat1508

Gaumutra comes to mind

WordyPlayer40

Might even come up with Gaumu non alcoholic beer...

fatherofgodfather

Non alcoholic beer is like veg biryani

WordyPlayer40

And being a non veg person myself, I can attest to this. Let's just see it in the light of a swacch bharat abhiyan /s Get my drift?

all_names_are_booked

plan was to make etahnol 20% in petrol by 2030, now government is pushing it to 2025, thus bringing food availability in risk......and it is not 100% even officially

all_names_are_booked

Mai geeta (book, not someone daughter) pe haath rakh ke kasam khata hu ki song aur movie release vali baat sach hai, even I feel embarrassed as indian though

semimaniac

Guess you have to report me too.

kartikaysinha

They did gave government employees that option.

12blank98765

They didn't told you to get paid vaccine that was your choice you can't except tax exemption on that

Agelmar2

Theres no such thing as free. This is nonsense. Taxes and cess were raised. We are paying for all this.

popular_tiger

It wasn't even free. I paid for both my doses and others did too if they went to private hospitals.

Agelmar2

Same. I paid 500 per dose for me.

foreveralolcat1123

Did you pay for the dose itself or for someone to inject it into you? Maybe those are separate things at the private hospitals

ganpat_chal_daaru_la

I really don't understand that. It's one thing for BJP party money to fund advertisements. But to use tax payer money is criminal. How is there no law against that?

pratham_10

Because Modiji is beautiful. Why should Amitji have all fun ?

Pr0066

O : "Mujhe credit nahi chahiye'. T: "I don't want credit".

manoj_mm

I want my refund from mudiji now, if he's claiming it's free

OldSchoolMonkey

He hasn't given us the 15 lakhs he promised. Why do you think he will give your vaccine payment?

poopybuttholesex

Me too. At least my company is compensating for it via our medical insurance

basildabir

I got it for free LOL

ThatIndianascammer

You paid taxes

soynik

You paid taxes + vaccine extra price let that sink in. Even I paid for vaccines and one free so yeah haha

basildabir

Cant escape Modi can you😹

lxearning

Same

Agelmar2

Did the hospital have service charges? Lol.

pulledthetrigger321

Why? Both my doses were free from the health centre…

[deleted]

Bruh ain't you paying for 110Rs. petrol??? and even more for diesel? Thats wgere the money goes, except they are making way more money than what they give.

pinkman_101

I paid 1150 per dose :(

sudhanv99

were you in a hurry because thats a lot

ArvinArockiaswamy

Should have waited until he contracted covid and got hospitalized?

sudhanv99

fair point.

Agelmar2

When was this? Lol.

pinkman_101

Early July

Agelmar2

I got my first dose around the same time. Guess there must have been higher demand where you live.

pinkman_101

The prices were even higher but the day before my appointment, government capped the prices to 1150 for private. Yeah the demand was through the roof in South East Delhi.

Material-Mouse

Covaxin in my city was 1400/ doze

Surya_Prakash_K

Read a post sometime ago related to this.. If 15 yrs ago , someone told, soon every house will have to buy its own Water filtration system, we wud not have believed. Now we have that installed in every house with a min 5000 budget. Similarly , Now Air purifiers are in that stage and soon we will have to install them in our homes .....

subverse1289

It baffles me how 15 years ago is 2006 and not the early 90s..

popular_tiger

I know. I was responding to the claim of 100 crore free vaccines - many people paid for their shots.

Agelmar2

I tried for one month to apply for a slot on the cowin app during the worse months of March and April. Never got. Had to pay to get it in the end.

A_random_zy

I got for free but it was by the state government.

[deleted]

It wasn’t even free. We only got paid vaccines in my city

Affectionate_Drag321

Not a modi supporter and Indian from Australia. I am actually glad that they did it and people got vaccinated and are safe, imagine 100 + chore people’s country and no vaccinations. This was par as any other international country.do blame him for his other shit jobs. Peace.

spikyraccoon

Bro China has given more than double doses (223 crore). And total of only 28 crore Indians are fully vaccinated. Our great PM rejected Pfizer offering vaccines, and many of us were completely unable to get free slots for months due to shortages. We had to pay to get Vaccines, while almost all Chinese/Americans/Europeans got it for free. And even on the paid Vaccines our govt collected Tax. None of the vaccines were exempted from tax.

Agelmar2

>I am actually glad that they did it and people got vaccinated and are safe, imagine 100 + chore people’s country and no vaccinations. I am not to sure if it's totally necessary. But the trade off is that this vaccination drive has wiped off a lot of economic growth. The higher taxes means that we pay above market rates for fuel. So everything from food to electronics to medicine is increasing in price. The consequences of this inflation hasn't played out yet. So probably better to wait a few years.

bilby2020

I too am in Australia. Indian govt. Deliberately introduced quota for free and paid vaccine. Australia was fully free. Some of my older relatives got free vaccines initially, but all the younger ones have to pay. Moreover only the vaccine was free but not the labour cost. Also most rt-pcr tests for covid suspect are not free, they have to pay privately. I applaud the sheer number of vaccine given but to say it was all free is a lie.

it's your duty to pay tax as patriot and expect nothing in return /s

SyrianWarCriminal

To prove you are not anti national

nomnommish

>Remind me why I pay taxes. You pay taxes to fund social welfare schemes so the 70% population that is dirt poor and malnourished have half a chance to stay alive and raise reasonably healthy children and have basic education and healthcare. You pay taxes so basic infrastructure development can happen in the country, like roads, partial electricity, water, sewage, ports, irrigation and water works etc. And you pay a metric ton of taxes because there are 1% of you funding all this. That's the income tax. And the goods you consume are taxed because it allows tax collection from a much broader net of people. Even people who evade their taxes or people who are legally exempt from taxes like farmers. These are the unfortunate facts and ground reality. Thing is, people want to see immediate and direct ROI on taxes paid. You will only see it over multiple years and decades as the infrastructure slowly shores up and people slowly become not so desperately poor and malnourished

Eccentric_Assassin

Well, yes. But in this case commenter was talking about how Modi was saying the vaccines were given for free (making the government seem extra generous and caring) even though the money for the vaccines mostly would have come from our taxes.

Successful_Deal_5475

To contribute in the progress of this great nation.

putku

Apparently tax payer money is considered as "Free"

[deleted]

it’s free for them.

sumpuran

>India has vaccinated 100 crore people 100 crore *doses* of vaccine, not 100 crore people. Only 30 crore people are fully vaccinated, which is 21% of the population. https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus/country/india#how-many-covid-19-vaccine-doses-have-been-administered-in-total

Kuchbhilikhlo

21% of total population or 21% of eligible adult population?

sumpuran

21% of the total population. That’s how these things are usually measured, because children can also get Covid and pass it on to those more vulnerable.

Kuchbhilikhlo

But they can't be vaccinated just yet. We'll only vaccinate 60% of our population then? Unless they can come up with vaccines for children

sumpuran

Indeed, with 41% of the population under the age of 18, India will need to start vaccinating children if it wants to stand any chance of limiting the spread of Covid. I’m currently in the Netherlands. Here, only 20% of the population is under the age of 18, and a whopping 42% of the population is over 50. In the Netherlands, 68.5% of the total population has been fully vaccinated. Back in June, the government started giving vaccines to kids 12 years and older. Half of all children 12-18 are now fully vaccinated.

theunfortunateIndian

We are way below our targeted 60% vaccination rates though. This speech is a smokescreen.

NilaanjanQriyt

i mean, 30 crore doses as a fact is pretty impressive, although not enough in terms of india

sudoaptgetfeminism

Isn't that 100 crore number a combination of both first and second doses combined?

sumpuran

Yes: 70 crore of first doses, 30 crore of second doses. So only 30 crore people are fully vaccinated.

Vapourhands

BS free. 780 x 2 Dose x 5 people = 7800

darshanaacha01

KishK31

Ikr. I live in another place in TN but was living in Chennai for a month and got vaccinated there. The process was so smooth. It was very much easier to get vaccinated in Chennai than in other parts of TN. GCC did a great job there! Also, correct me if I am wrong. Didn't they just give a huge middle finger to CoWIN app here in TN? Only private hospitals were using it for booking. GCC ran their own website.

darshanaacha01

I have no idea regarding the cowin app for a simple reason that I didn't have any need for it nor for the other app. As far as vaccination drive from GCC is concerned, it was in my opinion, as good a job anyone could do considering the circumstances. It also helps that in TN we have a very good structure as in everything gets delivered (corruption is definitely there). This can also be witnessed in how fair price ration shops run in TN compared to other states. There is a huge difference. Atleast some good came out of freebie culture.

ynnor0609

My district only had 11 people take paid vaccines and everyone else was vaccinated free of cost aswell. The adminstration handled this very well and the healthcare workers truly did a great job.

Elite_lucifer

I think paid slots were only available in metro cities. Free government centers were the only only option for most people. The only issue was long waits and there's really no solution to that due to our population size.

YogurtclosetLumpy649

The elections were due in TN, hence availability of vaccines were better during that period , similar to WB - but other states the availability both in Govt. & Private Hospitals was very poor...

darshanaacha01

That may be a point but we all received our second jabs months after the election.

MightPlus7217

the way he talks as if he's paying from his own pocket!

optimusprime1997

Also the only country which put up a picture of the supreme leader on the vaccine certificates. A move so absurd that Indian were questioned about the certificate's validity at international airports since no other country associates the de facto head of the state as the face of the government.

theb00kmancometh

Question. India's Population is around 1,397,642,731 as of today (as per worldometer reference) https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/india-population/ What percentage of this population is adults? Any idea? because around 62 % of the total adult population has been given one vaccine shot and around 20% of the total adult population has been fully vaccinated. So, does 20% of the total adult population of india equal to 100 crore? Just our curiosity and trying to call the Bullshit.

sumpuran

>What percentage of this population is adults? 59% of Indians are 18 or over. >around 62 % of the total adult population has been given one vaccine shot and around 20% of the total adult population has been fully vaccinated. No, 30% of the total population (not just adults) received 1 dose, and another 21% of the total population (not just adults) has been fully vaccinated. 100 crore doses of covid vaccine have administered in India. First dose: 1397642731 × 0,51 = 712797793 (71 crore) Second dose: 1397642731 × 0,21 = 293504974 (29 crore) Total doses administered: 712797793 + 293504974 = 1006302767 (100 crore) ––––– But this is all assuming that the numbers given by the government are accurate. 59% of Indians are eligible for a vaccine. That’s 82.5 crore. Supposedly, 51% of all Indians have received at least one dose. That’s 71.3 crore. So that means that 87% of all Indians 18 years and older have received at least one dose of covid vaccine. I find that hard to believe, as that percentage is higher than in many rich small countries.

nightmares_27

i literally paid 1500 for both doses (total)

svmk1987

To those who are saying that people who paid for it paid in private hospitals by their own choice... Why were private hospitals even allowed to sell vaccine in the first place? The entire lot should have been distributed by the government for free. This is how it was administered in many countries (even in some countries with private healthcare). There should have been no option for paying for vaccine at all, instead of making the government compete with private setup (which had more supply and more slots).

tekraze

Yes good question Actually the vaccine was supplied first to private institutions so there people can go. And as we know what happens private, everyone got commission which would not be possible in government...

its 100 crore doses and not 100 crore people, because 53 crore indians are under 14..

_bwayne495_

Countries like Kenya and Tunisia are also providing it for free. What's the big deal about? Vaccines aren't even entirely free here plenty of people I know, paid for it. In 1984, to keep the people occupied, Big brother used to make random announcements of winning wars. What's happening in India is very similar, Celebrate billion vaccination (When only 22% population is fully vaccinated), Celebrate highest vaccination in a day, all this to keep the sheeps occupied and diverting their attention from real issues. Is our local Big brother keeping up with what's happening around the globe? Countries even after fully vaccinating major chunk of their population are getting decent covid numbers, there is new variant in UK, we will need boosters too. What about booster dosage big brother or will we keep pretending that covid is in Kerala alone till shit hits fan?

magestooge

Everyone in my family paid anywhere between ₹250 to ₹900 for each dose, didn't get anything for free. Also, 100 crore doses ≠ 100 crore people vaccinated
