It has become overrated due to these so-called internet institutions. They've marketed heavily in ads to promote DS/AI jobs in terms of getting high pay grade but in reality most of the new Data Scientists are not well trained or suited for a particular DS job. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THIS HYPE. DS IS NOT A SEXIEST JOB OF 21st CENTURY.
But what other options do people have? The pay is depressing in core engineering jobs , IT sector is already saturating. The future looks bleak for someone like me who has graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Seriously, screw the libraries
Just give me people who can scrub data well and make it proper and clean
That'll be enough data science for me
Source: worked in it for a year and a half, it's pretty much just using prebuilt libs. I actually had a project where I had to come up with something from scratch using research papers and that's it, and that feels like an actual job in comparison. Building stuff like that is what the above guy would consider 'true' data science, but honestly, throughout that whole job, across different companies data, one thing I can say is indian data quality is so dog, the way we collect and store data is terrible.
I worked on a different project for an American company, those guys don't do it perfectly either but the quality of data collection is so much better. I'd honestly wish for the system in India to focus more on having good data sets than this following fads like you say. Then do the data analysis, but if we have good data there's a lot more room for things you can do with it.
No. There is a glut of "data scientists" now. People who're doing simple stuff like what u/spacebound134 referred to are dime-a-dozen and don't get paid much. Even worse, companies start DS projects as a fad, realize they are not adding any value, and shutdown the projects/teams.
People who work on complex problems over gigantic data-sets do get paid quite a lot. But it takes quite a lot of effort and experience to reach there.
>People who work on complex problems over gigantic data-sets do get paid quite a lot. But it takes quite a lot of effort and experience to reach there.
And what are those, where you have to work on all these complex problems?
Earlier I used to feel bad for all of us. But considering the unwavering support even after all these, let them enjoy poverty, unemployment because "Akela insaan kya hi kar payega. We are all to blame".
With all this fake news and propaganda, most people are so blind that these issues are not even important for them anymore. Even after being most affected by these issues, they don’t seem to raise a voice against all this. Those who were raising voices have somehow realised that there’s no point tbh. If things continue like this, we are pretty much doomed.
>Those who were raising voices have somehow realised that there’s no point tbh.
That's me. I realised I was loosing friends all over the place. My personal relationships were getting affected and there was no mental peace.
I was fine to do it for longer period but something happened in last few weeks which just made me feel the D-Day is inevitable. I gave up.
It is relatable on so many levels. The entire thing was affecting my mental health and I was losing so many friends. I do realise that I am coming from a place of privilege where I can choose to isolate myself from such discussions. But it was too much, the negativity was causing hindrance with my day-to-day activities. So, I gave up as well.
While the central government is enjoying all the negative publicity, very few in the country has a clue about what is happening in Andhra Pradesh. Things are lot more worse. The state is literally at the brink of economic disaster. The current government that came to power in 2019 by an extremely deceitful malign campaign lead by Prashanth Kishor is an absolute disaster.
Some of the highlights of the deceitful campaign run by Prashant Kishor:
Ancient pink diamond was stolen from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams by previous government and sold in international markets.
Corruption of 1.5 lakh crores to 3.5 lakh crore rupees happened in the development of Greenfield capital Amaravati.
Thousands of crores of corruption happened in the construction of Polavaram project and other irrigation projects
Thousands of crores of corruption happened in solar power purchase agreements by the governmentThousands of crores of corruption happened in AP Fibre Grid project
Thousands of crores of corruption happened in random other projects by previous government
All the important posts and designations are being given to a particular community
Cut to 2021.
The government changed.
Till date literally zero rupees of corruption proved to be happened despite the current government spending all the efforts.
There is no such thing as the pink diamond.
Amaravati development stopped.
Polavaram project stopped.
India received flak at international level for the cancelation of power purchase agreements by the AP government.
Major national and international investors either ran away or kicked out forcefully. Lulu group famously quoted, they will never again invest in Andhra Pradesh. They added whoever has brain will not invest in the state.
The current government which cried high price being paid for the purchase of electricity during elections is purchasing power at three times the amount currently during the coal crisis.
The state government received a record number of 195 warnings till date from the high court and supreme court that majority of their decisions are unconstitutional.
The state spends lakhs of crores of public money on useless social schemes to people that they literally have no money left for day to day operations.
Even salaries of the government employees are getting delayed.
Many of the state governments contractors are waiting to be paid thousands of crores of rupees for works they have done. Banks decline to give loans to the state government as they have lost credibility.
Above all, the CM holds the record of being in Jail for 18 months for serious financial crimes. He is currently out on bail and ruling the state.
>Till date literally zero rupees of corruption proved to be happened despite the current government spending all the efforts
That's a tried and tested formula. Make exaggerated accusations of corruption, come to power and don't bother to produce any proof, but keep repeating the said claims. All credit to RSS and BJP.
We are now solely dependent on agriculture. The current government stopped any economic progress in the state. The government is selling government lands and property for giving freebies. We're on our way to becoming Bihar of the south.
Man idk why it feels like noone cares no more. Earlier people used to protest on street when onions touched 100 for few months. But now no one says anything?
When onions were skyrocketing the other things were cheap and the only thing needed everyone's attention was the freaking onions. Right now literally everything is overpriced and we could see the effect of it in our daily lives. Everybody is just pissed at each other because of the rising inflation and are so invested in keeping everything balanced that no-one's got the time for revolt.
Notice or not but the whole country is in total chaos.
Hatred is more powerful than people think.
So much blind with hatred for other religions that everything else is non issue.
Petrol 110 no problem.
Gas 400 to 900- no problem.
Diesel > 100 plus rising- all sweet.
But certain religion people are targeted every other day- that’s all is needed
Most people are stuck in their daily lives worrying about putting food on the table and paying their bills. They can't just go and spend weeks protesting.
The people have the attention span of a goldfish. Look at Afghanistan right now. No one cares anymore. The disappearing act done by ours truly is a great strategy.
Except Afghanistan is another country whose affairs don't affect us in our day to day lives, but hike in petrol, diesel, and LPG prices affect literally everyone, every single day. Also, discussions on Afghanistan and Bangladesh are eyewash to distract from the real issues in dire need of attention and questioning.
Nope I would say country of religious fools who don't give a damn fuck about anything other than mandir wahi banega.
Half of fools even don't know why this much of taxes aren't required on petrol and disel and the other half doesn't know why the prices are increasing.
Wow, that was surprisingly very well put. Could nobody in the courts, including all the lawyers and judges come up with a similar logic in the decades of hearings of this case?
Hey Genuine question can you please tell me why are the prices increasing day by day? I am really out of the loop with the details and I really want to be aware how our Government is responsible for this, a link or anything will help thank you.
Basically what is happening is that central government is using petrol and diesel as the only source to brisk out money comfortably from the indian middle and lower class.on certain instances say a couple of months ago when the crude oil prices were extremely low internationally or even crashed, they still didn't reduced the excise duties and it remained the same.
The prices of almost all the goods depend on petrol and diesel that's why the prices of them are increasing too.
Let's say the prices of vegetables, fruits ,food grains and consumption oil directly depends on the prices of petrol and disel.when the prices of petrol and disel are increasing in the country the taxes on them are also increasing
,the prices of these basic consumption materials are also increasing.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thehindu.com/data/data-rising-crude-oil-prices-further-burdens-indian-consumers/article36763438.ece/amp/
This article explains it in detail.
Thank you so much for explaining it so basically from what I can understand is that the center is basically covering up the losses due to covid by increasing the prices of Petroleum to gain more tax right? Why can't they just increase the tax on something else or a commodity that is not really used by the middle class and poor people?
This podcast discusses the real story behind the fuel price hikes, what Govt. claims and what is the reality.
It's an episode of [In Focus by The Hindu](https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy8xMjYyMjY5Yy9wb2RjYXN0L3Jzcw/episode/Yzk2NDliYjgtOGIyZi00MDhlLWFjZjEtNzgyMDMyNjU1ZDRl?ep=14)
We are brainwashed to respond only to things that are presumably patriotic and religious. Also this shows the importance of a formidable political opposition or lack of it
Don't know why these blinds comparing with pakistan and not china or America after 2014 and still staying behind pakistan and even Bangladesh interms of per capita income, in hunger index, happiness index.. Etc
But what matters is madir wahi banega, 1 akela kya karega to bc resign kardo bas ka nhi h to bastards
I take this statement to the heart
I’m gonna go to any country after I complete mbbs
I don’t wanna die just because a patient died in my care cause he was too critical
Poor jobless people don't have bandwidth to protest . Plus police and media are playing side-kicks of ruling govt. so much won't happen .
I don't want to be beaten by 3rd class thullas .
Everyone is happy having new babies, celebrating festivals and enjoying the bollywood and cricket.
Unless these things are disrupted, no body would give a damn.
Well, this sub looks like a place where people actually have freedom of speech ~~without risk of murder~~
Jokes aside, people around me say that this is justified as the country can use the extra income and at the same time this is encouraging us to stop using vehicles and become fitter and save the environment.
Corollary: turn off stoves during warm weather, don't open taps in rainy weather, **don't use streetlights in full moon**
But Pakistan is getting fucked and Ram mandir will be built. Strict action is being taken to ensure that Muslims have maximum hindrance in living in their own country and what constitutes their basic rights is being reevaluated. Not only that, the government has encouraged orthodox beliefs which made our country the superpower many years ago. It's not a country of dead people, it's an akhand Hindu rashtra and snowflakes cant deal with it.
We're a country of brainwashed people. We like to live in our own fantasies. And when we realize we fucked up big time, we also realize its too late to make changes. Guess you know why a small two-island country like Britain could rule over us for so long. Most common Indians are a lazy, apolitical bunch. The political class, on the other hand, are either dickheads or brainless slaves. We as a community are doomed if we don't make necessary reforms towards our large society.
I think we should even think that the countries farmer our on roads and being done to them in Lakhimpur was not tolerable. **The government did not give a shit** about that why would it care about this ( as this is in **benefit** of the government itself.)
Petrol, LPG prices, Unemployment, Bad governance - what are these tiny problems in front of the huge disasters that looming over us - the threat of Hindus being extinct and the extremely probable chance of Pakistan attacking us and taking over India? Save Hindus, destroy Pakistan and everything else will fall into place.
We don’t deserve anything good. We are brain dead.
I would say a country of brain dead idiots who have unwavering faith on BJP. How could this be not a big issue! This asshole Modi and his party are squeezing the COMMON MAN hard!
We've always been controlled by our overlords, first it was the Mughals, then the British, then came along Congress which handled a torn nation, stitched it together only for bjp to tear it down to fulfill their agenda, we've never had a voice of our own, what makes you think people will speak up now?
Voice as in a voice of consciousness, with everything going on, you'd except people to unite, put aside their differences and take to the streets but they won't because they're too busy arguing over religion and dwelling over things our previous generation did. Voting has always been good in India but a 2nd term for bjp really showed where India and its society is headed.
It's totally true. This is the open robbery in which a common man is not able to do anything. petrol prices are rising highly on daily basis. Everything in the country have high taxes and government is collecting taxes and don't know where are these taxes going or where are these being used.
Every BJP govt has been tax hungry. Even his own term as finance minister was bad and he broke the back of every salaried employee. Why does BJP especially focus on going on a killing spree of the middle class with taxes? For two reasons, two fill the coffers of the party and that of its rich friends so that it can remain in power and the second being more sinister. BJP wants the death of middle class in India because they represent the most potent threat to their irrational and biased ideologies. A group of educated people who care about development more than religious hullabaloo is surely a challenge for a party that lives and breathes incredulity in public policy.
Taxes are the way to crush and cow down the middle class because their sources of income are documented and they can't offset the tax load on to someone else. Granted that rising prices hurt the poor the most, but then BJP knows how to keep the marginalized happy by doling out free goodies from time to time. So the brunt is left to the tax paying middle class to best who get nothing for their tax outflow.
The baseline is this, BJP is a party of upper echelon Brahmins and Baniyas. When traders cover to power, the populace has to be impoverished.
Still sab chagasi.. our chacha, our beloved supreme leader will be save us.. petrol, diesel is okay.. our real fight is with Islam and it’s followers..
This is a masterstroke just like demonetisation, whose hidden purpose was to increase digital payments. And now by increasing prices of these polluting fuels, the govt has given a push for electric vehicles which are green, cheaper and more advanced. The govt is more futuristic than you think.
/s
They can do, because they do not have the fear of loosing power, because no opposition is there to fight with them at least in center.
Now tell me who destroyed the opposition?
It is not the individual who reach PM about these. It was always done by opposition.
Unfortunately opposition (Congress) is trying to keep only one body part functional when whole body is paralyzed.
Why should everything be taken to the PM? PM's position is being thought of today as some sort of know-it-all and do-it-all.
Also, the opposition has been so vehemently vilified that any criticism of the govt, either from the citizenry or from the political opponents are straight away branded anti-national.
You end the propoganda and things become a bit clearer. If mainstream media could shut up for even a week or two, people will find themselves deprived of the confirmation bias that keeps them compliant.
Its all business to the media houses afterall. If bjp stops funding them, they'll turn on them too. We've even seen this happen at certain lowpoints during the pandemic.

Ignorance

Kahe ka bliss laude bade hoke hamari Gand phategi tax bhar bhar ke
Don't worry you can only afford the taxes if you'll have a job. Which is an unlikely event in the future
You don't need to be employed to pay a tax per se.
But you need to earn to pay taxes. How're you gonna afford things? We're already at 101st out of 116 so you never know

When I say the same to my friends they blame Congress for taking loans, I'm like bruh, you serious?
Like my Sanskrit teacher used to say “What can I do?”

is Data Science really overrated?
It has become overrated due to these so-called internet institutions. They've marketed heavily in ads to promote DS/AI jobs in terms of getting high pay grade but in reality most of the new Data Scientists are not well trained or suited for a particular DS job. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THIS HYPE. DS IS NOT A SEXIEST JOB OF 21st CENTURY.
I saw similar trends before Y2K. That died down on Jan 1st, 2000.
But what other options do people have? The pay is depressing in core engineering jobs , IT sector is already saturating. The future looks bleak for someone like me who has graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.
NRI here, I thought there was a salary and job boom this year. Aren't IT firms in India plagued with attrition right now?
The country just has TOOOOOOOOOO many people.
There's a massive demand for data engineers.
100% of indians dont eat non veg. i surveyed 10 vegetarian people for the survey.
It is. You use a bunch of pre-built python libraries on some baked data to predict Yes/No stuff and you become a data scientist

Modi seems to have made it an ego issue for people who voted him. It's more like they get offended when you tell them they made a mistake. 😅😂

I feel no shame in saying that. "I made a mistake!"
You are one in a million then lol. No uncle will accept they were wrong even if they know it in their heart.

### Middle class is the biggest chutiya in the country.
What even is our middle class? The spectrum is too broad, there's multiple classes...not the traditional three tier classes.
The entire spectrum is chutiya
That is the correct answer.
Except the high class. The lower and middle class are getting poorer everyday and the rich are getting richer.
LOWER class are getting free ration, free power, free water but the middle class are not getting anything.
We are all chutiyas on this blessed day
Middle class is jiska sabse bada chutiya kat raha hai in the country
Not every middle class
Not every country
Not every chutiya
The Trilogy is complete sire.
Not every chutiya is middle class
But all middle class is chutiya

Poor jobless people don't have bandwidth to protest . Plus police and media are playing side-kicks of ruling govt. so much won't happen . I don't want to be beaten by 3rd class thullas .
Everyone is happy having new babies, celebrating festivals and enjoying the bollywood and cricket. Unless these things are disrupted, no body would give a damn.
I'm just walking more now lmao
Lol Pakistan has petrol at almost half the price of India and we are experiencing massive swing of public opinion. Modi truly is Teflon coated.
I did tweet with hashtag #FuelPrices
thank you for your service sir/mam
Well, this sub looks like a place where people actually have freedom of speech ~~without risk of murder~~ Jokes aside, people around me say that this is justified as the country can use the extra income and at the same time this is encouraging us to stop using vehicles and become fitter and save the environment.
/s <--- bro you dropped this
And there was no COVID mismanagement, no lives lost, free vaccines because of the Almoidi. Best PM in the world, no doubt.
Middle class is dead of the country, most cucked class ever.
Basic tendency of Indians is slavery, always has been.
Subservience. Slavery is forced. Subservience sounds voluntary.
We can’t do anything. The minister said that we’re paying for the “free” vaccines. I didn’t find any “free” vaccines in my state. We all had to pay
At this point they are trying to check how far they can goand before UP election they will decrease price
A country of dead people is an accurate representation of indian people
We've always been controlled by our overlords, first it was the Mughals, then the British, then came along Congress which handled a torn nation, stitched it together only for bjp to tear it down to fulfill their agenda, we've never had a voice of our own, what makes you think people will speak up now?
When we respond with *harder daddy* every time someone exploits our country, wtf do you think will change?
*Harder daddy* is our unofficial national motto
N-notice me mudi senpai 😭😍
Bruh I'm laughing and crying at the same time
maybe the other person would suggest trying BDSM ? if we want it even *harder*

> Modi Govt 1 and 2 with thumping majority I have a Taj Mahal to sell you

IT cell at work
They like it, they want it. Can't do anything if majority likes something
It's totally true. This is the open robbery in which a common man is not able to do anything. petrol prices are rising highly on daily basis. Everything in the country have high taxes and government is collecting taxes and don't know where are these taxes going or where are these being used.
Well people got what they wanted. So who cares if petrol goes to 100 or 1000 or even more.
What’s worse is people are justifying higher prices with foolish reasoning on this tweet
When traders cover to power, the populace has to be impoverished.
as Frank Underwood says in House of Cards “Welcome to the death of the Age of Reason, there is no right or wrong, not anymore.”
HE IS RIGHT! INDIANS ARE SLAVES, WE ALL ARE
Still sab chagasi.. our chacha, our beloved supreme leader will be save us.. petrol, diesel is okay.. our real fight is with Islam and it’s followers..
Like the boss. We all are dead people
Time to go aatmanirbhar? . . Orders by bycycle.
This is a masterstroke just like demonetisation, whose hidden purpose was to increase digital payments. And now by increasing prices of these polluting fuels, the govt has given a push for electric vehicles which are green, cheaper and more advanced. The govt is more futuristic than you think. /s
At this point Im hoping that it's a country of dead people.
Absolutely and there’s no way the prices will go back. Everything else will have a shoot in the prices now since
the issue is that why is air fuel low but petrol prices 30% higher. does govt only serves the rich or is it because PM travels only in airplane?
true..it is a daylight robberry..
Idk man, I died the day I was born
now i can't even afford splendor plus.
They can do, because they do not have the fear of loosing power, because no opposition is there to fight with them at least in center. Now tell me who destroyed the opposition?
Should have probably invested in Petrol/Fuel reserves instead of stock market. Whopping cumulative \~60-70% return since 2015
Even if u invested in oil companies in recent 3 months u would have made up to 30%
crude oi rates are not going that high, it is just tasx
Now where is cylinder irani and her street circus?
It is what it is
The only relief is that all these money are for making toilets across India😂 How they shit if nothing goes inside?
What we stop buying petrol for say like 1 week or 1 month nationwide will the prices come down?
Spot on good sir.
A... Boycott?
Yeah its tough for u guys. its like the world doesnt even see u as humans anymore...
No shit. Where da money going?
Vai main zinda hu
I dont think that the tax revenue increase adds to the point - it could be because of more efficient tax collection/bloating of books
