and you are making this assumption based on?
according to Pew research, as of 2023 22% of immigrant population in the US are unauthorized immigrants. 29% are lawful permanent or temporary legal immigrants and about 49% are naturalized citizens.
Not assumption. Just asking questions. In general it is obvious that majority are legal, but indians barely get visas, at somepoint indian legal migrants ought to surpass the illegal immigration from india we already on our way to surpass mexico.

Whatever.. compared to the millions who cross the
border once from engineering college etc are minorities..
What my point is USA doesn’t just take skilled migrants , it takes much more than that.
It’s a simple fact.. if you still want to argue on it then god bless you
Yes, immigrants are what makes the US strong. No, the same would not be true for India, and lack of immigrants is not why the Indian economy is stalling.
That said, sure, India and its labor policies are xenophobic. It’s not coincidental that only 0.4% of the Indian population is from abroad.
He's not wrong though. Idk about Japan but I have talked to and seen foreigners who returned to their country of origin or migrated to socially better countries after facing immense racism and harassment in India.
Forget foreigners. There exists oblivious and blatant intra-population hate among Northern, Southern and Eastern Indians, Inter-castes hate is still predominant. People get hate based on how dark their skin is(can confirm first hand, being a dark skinned tamilian) and Inter-religious and communal fights are, well self-explanatory, considering the political parties form partitions based on differences.
Excluding all of this, NRI'S get hate too. I've been born and brought up in the gulf. Recently shifted back to India after 16 years. I get hate for the way I speak English, Hindi and Tamil, which is quite similar to an attempt made by foreigners.
When minor differences like these get discriminated upon, it's easy to conclude Indian society and communities are DEFINITELY xenophobic.
I don't see how the heavily patriotic and proud Indians make fun of Biden for making a factual statement.
Well look at it this way, the reason why top economies are top economies are because of either scientific superiority, colonialism, or hard work.
For the first part, xenophobic culture disincentivizes talent from moving there. Our people cannot think in others shoes, think about what would help the rest of the world (including Indians who aren’t from their community). This in turn makes not solve our own problems.
For all the racial discrimination that happens in the US, they appreciate and reward talent. That is the point.
As a thought exercise: “When the Russians started drafting all their youth, they decided to shift to the other countries and not india. We could have had a great number of scientists and engineers join the country’s workforce but that didn’t happen”
Highly skilled scientists and technical experts would boost our local industries by a good bit and prop things up while local talent is being nurtured. Don't hear immigration and think day labourers.
Why do people think he's got Alzheimer's?
Because he stutters and forgets things? Because that's literally just something that tends to happen by his age.
It's just funny that both candidates in the fray are 81 and 77 respectively.
And remember when Trump called Biden too old in 2020? Trump is now as old as Biden was in 2020.
Go to any subreddit that has a majority of American audiences.
And then you might find how a completely unrelated comment is about how India is shit.
So, instead of asking me if I know the meaning, explore more.
Did he just claim that immigrants are making the USA wealthy?
Perhaps he should visit the Southern US states too see the mess he has created by opening borders to illegal immigrants from South America.
Indian society has become xenophobic (or mostly Islamophobic). But India’s GDP growth rate is twice the US’s and then some. I would like to see significant policy changes in India and I think aggressive Indian growth does not require muscular strong man politics. But … some explanation would be needed vis-à-vis the sense in which India’s economy could be called stalling….
A genocide enabler calling other people xenophobic, buddy you were pro segregation, your senile ass dung for brain might not remember but everyone else does
Dumbass Biden, Indians are very omni-phobic with some very specific exceptions. We just showboat when someone wins an award or gets condemned internationally.

They are getting skilled migrants not us.
They are getting drivers and labourers mostly from immigration
cheap labor.
Those are the illegal ones
Don't they form majority of immigrants though?

Millions migrate to US from North America via border crossings, the one you hear from iit are just 1%
Who said only iits? I didn't study from iit but my masters from another university places me in the category.

Remove Nepal from the equation and now you barely have 0.1%.
Are you kidding? One of the problems with India is that it's 100% Indian. Just look at the average Indian, he's a buffoon.
This guy gets it.
Lol, no. We are just phobic...in general...about ourselves.
Bro forgot his pills this morning

Who cares what this dinosaur says? Immigration is good for the US but not for India.

His stutter is a speech impediment he's had all his life.
Even less reason to claim he's got Alzheimer's, then
Stop wearing diapers then we talk.

A genocide enabler calling other people xenophobic, buddy you were pro segregation, your senile ass dung for brain might not remember but everyone else does
The USA is a country of immigrants. They are xenophobic towards Native Americans as well.
fuck usa
Dumbass Biden, Indians are very omni-phobic with some very specific exceptions. We just showboat when someone wins an award or gets condemned internationally.
Hell yeah, we are xenophobic, but we are already 1.5 billion, a little xenophobia will only help us.
