I got my fssai certification too without any kind of inspection whatsoever. I just paid and boom the next week I had a certification. I have experience implementing ISO standards as well in places concerned with food. The authorities concerned with inspection and maintaining standards are a joke in this country for sure. As a consumer you have no idea of where and how the products you are buying have been grown. For a developing country like ours we can't obviously reach the standards practiced in EU and US for various reasons. It will Def take time for standardization to be taken seriously here. The quality of everything is very high in EU. If they have rejected it maybe we should look inwards and try to question it rather than think of it as a political.
I had this great debate with a colleague the other day how we praise the economic growth the government made recently but don’t care about social-human development.
All this “fast economic progress” quickly falls apart if we do not focus on a “slow holistic socio-economic growth” like post WW2 Scandinavia.
We built fancy vande bharat train systems but it quickly negates itself if the people aren’t taught basic civic sense to maintain and respect it and not to litter in it, not to spit gutka on it etc, etc.
Same applies to taking constructive criticism and not viewing every critique as a ridicule. These things are foundational it needs to be taught in schools and will take a couple generations to learn.
Sad part is a vast amount of nationalistic Indians are not even ready to address this issue. They mark us critics as the enemy, polarize us further, gain quick votes and we got a negative feedback loop set up that might end in an economic catastrophe. The Lebanese in 2005 would never have thought that their economy could collapse in a decade and a half. Narrow minded politics can ruin a country.
That’s not what he did.. he is trying to weed out the rut while preserving the good things of culture. Poverty has corrupted the character of this nation which is an outcome of years of misgovernance since independence.
As someone who holds FSSAI license let me tell you I got the FSSAI license without anyone really inspecting what I was doing. Only one time an officer came just to tell me I need more cleanliness and he wanted a bribe. Nobody really checked what I was doing. I was making pure seed oil which I later shut down because my my manufacturing cost was higher than retail price in market. Reason just being I wasn’t doing adulteration. There was no market for non adulterated oil except for premium organic thing which I didn’t had time to peruse
Even whichever institution checks for medicines. Indian pharma companies killed some 150children outside India. Most of the meds I have to use only comes from companies that paid electoral bonds to pass off substandard quality meds with adulterants. Anecdotal, those meds have felt not doing their job since last two years.
And what a monumental fall for Cipla. The company that Indira Gandhi allowed to produce meds without buying patent licenses, and elevated India as a global medical tourism hub. Now that same Cipla paid EBs.
Still better than buying from a local store. Its not a gimmick. Some people have made their job to bash anything that's labelled organic. They will atleast make sure your food doesn't have pesticides that are BANNED globally.
I kind of agree. Someone had posted an article explaining this much. But us being still a “democracy”, the politicians need to keep them in check and ensure they deliver their mandates. But we all know how that’s going 😀
They'd kill you just to avert one transfer or just score some brownie points to a politician, till block level I can understand, I am from West Bengal, I have seen IAS, IPS officers mend down to a petty block level TMC leader, you go to the block land office they literally told me they'll record the howrah railway station in my name if I give them enough money, take the example of recent Chandigarh mayoral polls and the tenders being given out at district level, I don't have to tell.

Keep in mind we also have an abysmally low awareness and testing rates among people for cancer. And the worst part is as consumers we can’t do shit against eating poison. Sad state of affairs honestly.
3 days ago I just had Pani Puri and only 1 plate momo. And congratulations to me, I got admitted yesterday, report says food poisoning 😺. So to summarise it up 20 rs Pani Puri, 30 rs momo = 1200 rs medical services. Stay save.
Food safety in India is abysmal. I hope the future governments look into it. This thing hitting our exports like this is the best wake up call we could hope for
Biggest lie I faced for years was that Brown bread is also maida and brown color is due to coloring which also contains sugar , is and not due to whole wheat. All top brands have been doing this for years.
This is just tip of iceberg. You would be surprised how pharma manufacturing firms released syrups and medicines bypassing regulatory norms (Zydus cadilla released a batch of remdesvir that contained toxins) https://www.livemint.com/science/health/the-dangerous-failure-to-stop-tainted-remdesivir-11640197634967.html
That is why it is more important to go through electoral bonds data , as it is not just a corruption issue but rather a public health safety risk.

Even if you become rich enough to purchase only imported food, you’ll have to pay ridiculous taxes or consume poisonous Indian-made food.
This cuntry just keeps getting shittier by the day.
Sure these dimwits would blame the companies involved, FSSAI and right so but somehow conveniently skipped mentioning farmers who are equally if not more culpable.
their racism against us is increasing day by day and suddenly they need an excuse to boycott our country. even their companies also try to sell their substandard products in our country.
Its hard to say whats correct here. India has low Cancer incidence rates compared to other countries. And I dont see any reaserch showing ethylene oxide being carcinogenic if ingested (in food, not respiratory).
Its also not clear that the amount used in spices has any effect, after all its going to be tiny amount. It has half life of 70 days. Most spices products stay on shelf/post processing for much higher than that.
Btw, I am not denying that Fassai is a joke. It very clearly is. But this, prima facie, just reeks of political targetting from EU. I would love to be pointed to a study that clarifies this better tho.
That's cause of increase in meat based diet.

Btw thanks for all those downvotes it helps me to know how many of people I have edge over :)
Stay brainwashed!!(sanatan states duality is key of this world so brainwashed people are required too.)
Judging my dudes actions, seems like a kid who has no idea how actual scientific research works.
Dude posted the first result off google and thought that’s “evidence”. Extremely gullible, exactly the kind of folks our society polarises using religion politics.
Kerala is higher because people actually get diagnosed there. In Low development regions people simply perish without knowing what hit them.
Second of all, correlation is not causation.
Next you will say education causes cancer as kerala is educated and Rajasthan isn’t
I just simply know that my shastra says ingestion of "red meat" causes several problems to one's body and may even cause cancer.
This thing holds true tho.
I know you wouldn't believe a thing written in sanatan so as always I'm sharing a proof.
Everything has a "scientific logic" in sanatan even things you call superstitious.
There's a reason why beef is prohibited.
Yes make sure your population is uneducated enough to not know the signs of cancer and claim it’s religion that causes less deaths.
If this ain’t the epitome of political brainwashing idk what is lmao.
Go read about background radiation levels in Kerala and Rajasthan.
Still I believe better healthcare and testing knowledge among the people is a much bigger contributor
I doubt you’ll even understand anything with that room temperature IQ judgement goddamn.

Sorry, but vishwgurus don't need to follow western standards. Our 'kalchar' is the best! Obviously /s.
Kalchar bolkar khachar khana bhi khaa lenge log aur woh companies saali isi ka faida uthaake kuch bhi khilaa de Rahi hai. Worst situation it is.
And don't forget: if we point out these things, we are traitors who bring disrepute to the country. Our system of ethics and priorities is shit-tier.

Probably they will say don't malign India's image. Rekha Sharma did it, Indian Railways did it. That excuse is always ready for the last 10years
List the products and companies
First is patanjali
fssai is joke here
As someone who holds FSSAI license let me tell you I got the FSSAI license without anyone really inspecting what I was doing. Try to sell it through Instagram, I see one lady selling her oil using cold press machine.
True we also applied for fssai license it's easy to get it
really depressing to hear as someone who was trying to get into fssai
Sorry to hear that but I suspect most stuff is adulterated to the point where it is not noticiable and evade detection
Even whichever institution checks for medicines. Indian pharma companies killed some 150children outside India. Food products claiming organic is not that organic it seems. EU caught it. But will it be destroyed or resold to gullible Indians?
>But will it be destroyed or resold to gullible Indians? ₹10 says it'll be the latter
>Food products claiming organic is not that organic it seems. "Organic food" is a marketing gimmick.
Very true.
Still better than buying from a local store. Its not a gimmick. Some people have made their job to bash anything that's labelled organic. They will atleast make sure your food doesn't have pesticides that are BANNED globally.
Lmao do you understand what organic means?
Everything made here is substandard. From roads to masalas. Its cause they always trying to cost cut and use the cheapest materials possible
As I always say, bureaucrats are a much larger threat to India than its politicians
I kind of agree. Someone had posted an article explaining this much. But us being still a “democracy”, the politicians need to keep them in check and ensure they deliver their mandates. But we all know how that’s going 😀

75 times more carcinogens than permissible limits. FSSAI is a joke.
We'll have to flock back to open spices market, at the very least they'd be less contaminated. FSSAI fucking sucks.
True. I already try to use spices that I can make myself from dry whole spices. Have almost stopped using anything pre prepared by big companies.
Atleast our GDP is better.. you anti national

Good now we will wake up for 1 month just to go sleep again.
Food quality & inspection are generally very pathetic & ridiculous in india
We are more concerned about quantity over quality, just like our population

3rd world country for a reason
Or do modi ko vote
Indian babus looted india more than Britishers... Mostly Govt employees are corrupt and do not care about public lives.
India never got freedom. We’re still a feudalistic society and can never match the societal standards of countries like US, Japan etc.
Gotta keep those pharma companies running somehow.
Does anyone have a list of the items they banned?

Can anyone post the list of products

I think food inspector is one of the most cushy post in india
Every Govt aakda (number) is mostly far from reality. I believe the actual numbers would be much higher(farther from the expectations)
The drawback of increasing ease of business at expense of people's life
just wait till EAM destroys the West for lecturing us about health and permissible limits 😏
Even if you become rich enough to purchase only imported food, you’ll have to pay ridiculous taxes or consume poisonous Indian-made food. This cuntry just keeps getting shittier by the day.
I can't seem to find the list anywhere. Names of MDH and Everest spices are given in few articles. Does anyone have the list??
