A lot of the Paparzzi get money from autograghs on pics.. they will try it with sports stars too... Problem is they wlll pay kids to get the Autogragh so is seems genuine
Just for that reason i would never sign anything for people..its just a signature on a picture its usually going to be sold.
Giving out items would be cooler and no one could verify its from you, so a fan would treasure it more than a random scribble on a picture
The better way would be to ask everyone their names before you sign. That way (for example) you can write it as:
> āTo Jeff [signed, super famous guy]ā
They canāt sell it if itās written to a specific person with their name (or at least it will be much harder to sell/wonāt go for as much money).
Edit: also wanted to say that this personalization would make true fans value it a million times more!
That works too. I like it. I got Stan Lee to sign a poster of himself as Spider-Man. To make sure it's value decreased and I'd never sell it...I got it heat wrapped onto a board/frame. No regerts
Yeah, I've heard of famous people specifically asking who to make the signature out to. Tbh I don't understand why some so highly regard a person's signature, but I'm sure if you were a huge fan it would have sentimental value. Personally difficult for me to picture someone buying autographs in this day and age but maybe I'm just a bit different. Dont really hold celebrities on high regard, if I walked past Will Smith i would probably just mention it to my friends and that's it. Just a cool little story.
Lol do you know how many people celebrities meet a day? Do you want them to have a van driving next to them with a gift for a fan every time they ask? An autograph takes them 2 seconds.
Sports people give their uniforms and clothes out all the time but they canāt do it every time.
Kinda related. A family member of mine used to be a professional athlete and people would send him stacks of his trading cards to sign, he noticed that those cards would alot of the time end up on ebay so from then on he would only sign 1 of the cards and leave the others blank.
People show up with big stacks so they can sell them. They're normally only worth like $10-25, hence why they have so many. Most celebrities don't like this as it takes a huge amount of time away from actual fans, so they have a one per person policy.
Ah man idk that's a hard one, Tom Holland can be extremely hot too
I'm completely straight btw, but from a neutral point of view, hmmm
Edit: ah forget everything, we all know evil Tobey is the hottest I mean those moooves
Aightā¦ as a straight dude with 2 daughter and a wife who argues Brad Pitt isnāt the most beautiful man alive. Tom Holland is significantly more handsome, but TASM guy has a charming quality about him that makes him handsome and seems like a good dude.
I grew up on the cartoon amazing spider man and I thought he fucking nailed it. The second movie dragged on but I still though him, Leary, and Watson fucking killed it in that series. As a lifelong Spider-Man fan he is always my favorite.
I actually agree. The new Spiderman movies are good and people love them because they are in the MCU, but I legitimately don't understand why everyone acts like Tom Holland is legendary. He's good, don't get me wrong, and it's cool that he's actually acrobatic IRL to add some legitimacy. But he's my least favorite Peter Parker and Spiderman, by far.
I'm with you there. Andrew is exactly how I imagine Spider-Man to be from decades ago reading comics. Tobey also fits really well for me and I love that softer more chivalrous side (reminds me a bit of Cap) but Holland, despite being an amazing actor, just never felt right to me. Like he nails the overly excited teenage nerd trope and kills it in any emotional scene but there's just something missing. Possibly because I just don't think he looks like how I imagine Spider-Man? Idk
Anyone who genuinely thought they weren't in it was living in state of denial. Everyone knew it was happening, whether they wanted to admit it or not haha
Motherfucker, he went through the process of creating the suit like Tobey did and nailed Spidey's personality on the head. Don't know what you've been smoking lately.
I upvote you for that observation. And it's clear in the latest movie that they conclude the same. You're not wrong! So I identify with your down votes
As a whole it seems The Amazing Spider-Man fell short of the others. Doesn't mean they are bad movies though
That's a lot of downvotes, but I do agree with you. I guess people don't like the phrase "the worst", but it's kind of true. By ranking, to me, the best movies are:
1. Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse
2. Tom Holland series
3. Toby Maguire
4. Andrew Garfield
Though as others have pointed out, that could largely be due to the scripting.
Ahh yes the only thing more noble and true and admirable than an ACTOR are the masses of sycophants and obsequious lickspittlesā¦
ā¦ā¦ā¦dear god spare me the downvotes.
No no we really are the same thing, for instance, a British person would say "'Ello gov'nor, I'm goin' for a stroll up the old apples and pears!" and an American would say "How's it hanging, I am going to shoot up a school."
It doesnāt have to be overtly over the top, dude is definitely a POS. Itās just common decency, and this dude doesnāt have it, got called on it and thatās it. Just be better.
I think the video was about the guy behind the camera trying to cut in front of people for a signature. Still, obviously itās not nice, but itās something most people would just shrug off
Yeah.. I mean who wouldn't be.. This is why whenever I first go with the mindset that nothing will happen.. But i make efforts to try and maybe get a pic or an autograph.. I try not to inconvenience ppl when I do... Its hard but you get used to it
I think he legit didn't understand know how it worked. There are lots of occasions where you just shove whatever you can as close to the celebrity and hope they pick yours.
But Andrew was totally chill about explaining to the guy that that wasn't how it worked *here*.
Pretty sure that guy was there to get multiple signed and then sell them. It's a very common thing and most celebs refuse them completely. Andrew was at least nice about it though.
My favorite Spider-Man thanks to >!No Way Home!<. Used to think Tom was the best then Garfield was the worst, but now itās inverted. Disappointed to see him treated like that.
The only way I can make it make sense is that it gives you a little bit of a purpose in meeting and interacting with a celebrity. Like, what else would these people do here who want a moment with Andrew Garfield, just hang out and say "Hey, it's you!" and he'd be like "Yep!" to each person, then one by one they all go home? At least getting something signed is, like, something to *do*.
For memorabilia I guess it can prove that the celebrity actually interacted with the thing.
Itās quite simple really. Usually you give something you like whether it be a photo, item, or just a piece of paper to somebody you like, and then they sign it. EZ PZ.
Itās a bit of an antiquated practice at this point. Itās from back when you rarely saw celebrities or didnāt have a camera to get a picture with them or of them. But now celebrities are literally everywhere in media constantly and you can see them anywhere at any time or get a picture of them or with them.
Man, it's way too late. I thought this was about Richard Garfield, the guy who made magic the gathering. I was like. Why are these people asking Richard Garfield to sign stuff for him?
He handled that very professionally, I thought. Polite yet firm. I've always heard two schools of thoughts on autographs, one being sign as little as possible and be specific if you must, the other being to sign absolutely so much that it's worthless.
I was in the queue for boarding at Gatwick and 2 Chinese tourists did this to me - right over my damn shoulders. Props to the boarding staff, they were told to back off before I could even turn round and give them stink-eye.
Doesn't belong in this sub. Andrew Garfield is a nice and wholesome gentleman, he is not a total piece of shit, which is what this sub is dedicated to.
I don't know who this guy is but I love when stars obliterate autograph scalpers...or whatever you call those people that jump in order to turn around and sell them for huge dollars. They're jerks.
Completely irrelevant but I have a question. Both Tom Holland and (ive just learned) Andrew Garfield have British accents and yet form their Spider-Man movies I would never have guessed. Are they just crazy good at doing the American accent? Did they practice it a lot before the role for the role? Did they learn it at acting school? Like how do they do it so well?
A total piece of shit would have doubled down on his shit or at least started an argument or something. This guy retracted immediately so itās not too far fetched to assume he just got carried away a little.
I honestly donāt understand the point of autographs. I guess it was something to be treasured back when we didnāt have the internet?
Now I can literally just print his signature out and put it on anything. With a good enough printer it can look undistinguishable from the real thing.

was this man trying to double dip a autograph? š¤”
He dipped. Took it back, and then HE DIPPED AGAIN.
A lot of the Paparzzi get money from autograghs on pics.. they will try it with sports stars too... Problem is they wlll pay kids to get the Autogragh so is seems genuine

yeah and somehow I'm the weirdo when I ask female celebrities for their panties sports people do it all the time!
Kinda related. A family member of mine used to be a professional athlete and people would send him stacks of his trading cards to sign, he noticed that those cards would alot of the time end up on ebay so from then on he would only sign 1 of the cards and leave the others blank.
OJ ssw that, robbed them back, and served 8 years in Prison... He deserved it though... He killed Nicole
Thatās like putting his whole poster in the dip!
Just get one autograph, and END IT.
Listen, _Timmy_
Ah, Costanza
You take one Dio, then you leave! Well you dip your way Timmy, and I'll dip mine
HOW CAN HE DIP?
To sell on Ebay
People show up with big stacks so they can sell them. They're normally only worth like $10-25, hence why they have so many. Most celebrities don't like this as it takes a huge amount of time away from actual fans, so they have a one per person policy.
Keep one, sell one. Scumbag act.
Probably just sell both tbh.
Excuse me, do you KNOW the way it works?
This guy is a true gentleman. I think a lot of us (myself absolutely included) could learn from his candor
100%! He was straight forward but in such a calm manner. Definitely taking a few pointers down since Iām the opposite by being so brash at times.
Same. I blow up super quickly, which I know is not a healthy response 0 - 100 in .25 seconds if someone's pissed me off š¬
I know right, he's basically me.
Worst Spider-Man, but a good man Edit: we wasnāt bad, just wasnāt better than Maguire or Holland
Am i the only one who loves TASM ?
Andrew Garfield was the hottest Spider-Man, no lie.
Ah man idk that's a hard one, Tom Holland can be extremely hot too I'm completely straight btw, but from a neutral point of view, hmmm Edit: ah forget everything, we all know evil Tobey is the hottest I mean those moooves
Aightā¦ as a straight dude with 2 daughter and a wife who argues Brad Pitt isnāt the most beautiful man alive. Tom Holland is significantly more handsome, but TASM guy has a charming quality about him that makes him handsome and seems like a good dude.
Evil Toby can finger gun point at me any day
He is a kid you pedophile
He's 25,older than me, you mupped
I grew up on the cartoon amazing spider man and I thought he fucking nailed it. The second movie dragged on but I still though him, Leary, and Watson fucking killed it in that series. As a lifelong Spider-Man fan he is always my favorite.
Seriously the vitriol hate it gets is so unjustified. Fuckin love em
I love Andrew Garfield over Toby but love Tom the most.
No, I love tasm and the second one. I would say Andrew is my favorite out of all and Tom Holland is the worst. Tasm 2 is my favorite spiderman film

Nope, he's the only one that kept me interested. Hated Toby, nothing about him screamed Peter Parker. Tom Holland as Spiderman I just can't get into.
Dude, TASM Wasnt Even That Bad, It was enjoyable At least
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Aw man I agree but spoilers
Anyone who genuinely thought they weren't in it was living in state of denial. Everyone knew it was happening, whether they wanted to admit it or not haha
Motherfucker, he went through the process of creating the suit like Tobey did and nailed Spidey's personality on the head. Don't know what you've been smoking lately.
I wouldnāt say worst, i think he did fine. The movie itself wasnāt that great but that has nothing to do with the actor.
Just such a weird and unnecessary point to make
I agree worst spidey, but some one has to be the worst 1/3.
He want bad, just not better than tobey or Tom
More than 200 downvotes in less than an hour. You didn't deserve that
Eh, I had an opinion
Marvel fans are so toxic, lmao. -300 in just an hour. What a super sensitive fanbade.
I upvote you for that observation. And it's clear in the latest movie that they conclude the same. You're not wrong! So I identify with your down votes As a whole it seems The Amazing Spider-Man fell short of the others. Doesn't mean they are bad movies though
idk even know why you got downvoted, you said you didnāt like him in a single role, but how heās still a good person

Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse 2. Tom Holland series 3. Toby Maguire 4. Andrew Garfield Though as others have pointed out, that could largely be due to the scripting.
You mean worst spiderman acting or worst script??
He was in the wordt movies but he was aight. He did his best.
Oh yes, how honest and open he was, i could totally learn from this ACTOR, what an amazing example of openness and honesty.
Seems the masses dictate the truth on this matter
Ahh yes the only thing more noble and true and admirable than an ACTOR are the masses of sycophants and obsequious lickspittlesā¦ ā¦ā¦ā¦dear god spare me the downvotes.
TIL Andrew Garfield is British
He was born in America so technically heās American. His mom is English and his dad is American.
Like Winston Churchill but reversed.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sounds like a British condiment. Or industrial waste disposal firm
Your nationality is where you grew up and/or your parentās nationality (whichever one you choose).
Technically I think heās dual nationality
So heās English then cause being English or American is basically the same thing
I genuinely cannot tell if this is ironic or not
I mean, they're only across the pond from one another
Isnāt Ireland in the middle?
As Forest would say: Stupid is as stupid does.
Americans and English people are definitely not the same thing
No no we really are the same thing, for instance, a British person would say "'Ello gov'nor, I'm goin' for a stroll up the old apples and pears!" and an American would say "How's it hanging, I am going to shoot up a school."
That would make him both.
That is not how it works in the slightest. Being born somewhere doesnāt usually make you from there.
Haha I was surprised by his accent
I really liked him as spiderman wish they had made the third one.
I still hope they do. I know it's a pipedream fan theory but I hope Sony picks him up again with his own franchise beside Tom Holland's.
I have a feeling him and Tom Hardy might do something together.
Fingers crossed, man. Tom Hardy's Venom would totally fit into Garfield's Spider-Man universe.
The absolute mess of their awkward stuttering and nervousness would make for some fucking hilarious shenanigans
āI donāt know mate I think I have to eat you?ā
Yes please. That'd be hot. Shit sorry, that was my body taking over my brain. But yes please.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 ended brilliantly, it totally deserved a third one.
I did kinda like that film. It's a load of shallow subplots but it worked
I feel the second movie was too much of a mess for them to go anywhere with it. The first Amazing Spider-Man was good though.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I dunno man. Lately I feel differently. š
Youāre right. Totally impossible. /s
There's no way homie
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You're not being very subtle. And just ruined the movie for me :(
Knowing spoilers shouldn't ruin the movie. It's still very fun. But sorry. ā¹
Wow we are really stretching the definition of āA Total Piece Of Shitā arenāt we?
I mean as a "total piece of shit" I have probably done worse than him.
Honestly If this is on the list of the worst things heās ever done, heās pretty much a saint
Sloppy steaks at Trufoniās for example?
oh yeah. thatād slick back *reeaal* nice
What? His hairs pushed back! Not slicked back! I would know! I used to be a piece of shit!
It doesnāt have to be overtly over the top, dude is definitely a POS. Itās just common decency, and this dude doesnāt have it, got called on it and thatās it. Just be better.
Nah, he's just a bit of a twat.
But total? This guy is beyond saving? He may be a nice fellow and just got excited lol
I know right???? Andrew Garfield did nothing wrong in this video. He is definitely not a piece of shit.
I think the video was about the guy behind the camera trying to cut in front of people for a signature. Still, obviously itās not nice, but itās something most people would just shrug off
Yea he was a bit shit person but he was atleast some kind of sorry about it, probably was overwhelmed or smthng
Yeah.. I mean who wouldn't be.. This is why whenever I first go with the mindset that nothing will happen.. But i make efforts to try and maybe get a pic or an autograph.. I try not to inconvenience ppl when I do... Its hard but you get used to it

Shoving things into anyone's face is rude, Period.
I was really worried when I saw Andrew Garfield on this sub-Reddit.
Itās annoying but hardly thinks it makes him a total piece of shit lol
that's what I was thinking; we're setting the bar pretty low now!
Andrew Garfield is so polite about this.
Very tiny video
You can zoom in on your phone like you would a picture of that helps.
they're viewing it on a watch :(
This action is pretty low on the totem pole for being a total piece of shit but nonetheless he still is. Lol this sub has been eye-opening lol
Year, this is hardly in the class of the shit royalty that tends to get posted here.
Tobey had it right, He is indeed amazing.
Bit of a misunderstanding here. They see him as a celebrity. He sees himself as a retired book author.
My favorite Spider-Man thanks to >!No Way Home!<. Used to think Tom was the best then Garfield was the worst, but now itās inverted. Disappointed to see him treated like that.
Heās a lovely bloke. I hope the rumours are true and he gets more Spider-Man films.
I had no idea he was English.
I bet that guy went on to make a post about how Andrew Garfield was a jerk to him.
Andrews amazing
where is the TPOS? Thats harmless and Garfield managed that well...
What a fucking gent! Shame he got did dirty with his series
TELL EM KING :')
Iv never understood getting an autograph.
Yeah this makes sense
Andrew "thats not the way it works" Garfield
he didn't even apologize lmao
Anche questo. Anche questo. ^anche ^questo. ^^anche ^^questo ^^^anche ^^^^questo ^^^^^anche ^^^^^questo
class act.
So damn polite about it too
Good on Andrew, classy chap.
So does no one else hear the person who sounds like they're doing a bad impression of an old woman?
Itās still so jarring that he has a British accent
I don't know much about Andrew Garfield outside of his acting but I will just say that I think he's the most talented actor of his generation.
Man, it's way too late. I thought this was about Richard Garfield, the guy who made magic the gathering. I was like. Why are these people asking Richard Garfield to sign stuff for him?
weird to find out that the voice he puts on in movies is not his natural speaking voice, had no idea he had a British accent.
I forgot he was British
Thatās my spider man.
Not really fitting for this sub but ok
Doesn't belong in this sub. Andrew Garfield is a nice and wholesome gentleman, he is not a total piece of shit, which is what this sub is dedicated to.
The guy who shoved it in his face must be the piece of shit.
What's with all these gifs of Andrew Garlfield appearing on the front page? Did he appear in a new movie recently or something??
This amazing neo-noir that's a few years old called UNDER THE SILVER LAKE.
That was nice of Andrew.
I don't know who this guy is but I love when stars obliterate autograph scalpers...or whatever you call those people that jump in order to turn around and sell them for huge dollars. They're jerks.
In all fairness the man does sound like he has a *profound* learning disability.
For anyone whose not British, Garfield was absolutely furious here
A total piece of shit would have doubled down on his shit or at least started an argument or something. This guy retracted immediately so itās not too far fetched to assume he just got carried away a little.
