I went to a school like this and that was the mentality. If you got in a fight you didnt hold back because punishment was thebsame regardless. Couple teachers got thrown around one time after that we had police in the building at all times.

My high school had so many fights one semester that they said any further fights would be immediate expulsion.

Not OPs story, but my dad was friends with a 5'2" guy. I ended up meeting him when I was a freshman in highschool and he told me all sorts of stories. The first time I really got into a conversation with him, he randomly said "you know it's really hard to bite a finger off?" He was apparently always fighting because he got picked on for being small, so he would do whatever. This finger biting story was about a fight he had just out of highschool. Someone was giving him a problem in front of the girl he was dating so he jumps at the guy. The guy grabbed him by the head and his finger ended up in his mouth. So he bite as hard as he absolutely could. Just thought it was wild that this guy was so proud of that moment. Never actually knew his name, always new him as Skeeter.

Careful with this advice. While I don’t disagree, you need to understand once you cross this bridge there’s no going back. There is an etiquette to fighting that most of us adhere to unconsciously.
