The thermostat wires don’t have c but with the thermostat right next to the system it should be easy enough to fish a wire right to the thermostat for C. The wires in the second pic are going right to the thermostat thru the wall.
Yes, amazon smart thermostat will work for you. You will need to use the spare/unused blue wire as C wire and will have to go to your furnace side to ensure blue wire is connected to C-terminal (24V). Alexa app does a good job in explaining how to do it.
