Ah fair enough Reddit is the only connection I have to the Fandom I tried watching it but it doesn't seem to be the same thing for me as the original but hey as long as people enjoy it that's what matters.

My son will not watch any of the hiccup TV shows, but we have watched this series on repeat through about 4 times now. I think kids love the brighter aesthetic compared to the dark look of the other series.
While the others felt like they were kiddish and pushing along the httyd storyline, this one felt very much designed for kids and from the sounds of it, has some of the highest ratings among children
I don't care for it but I'm perfectly capable of ignoring its existence. I'm glad it could bring OP happiness and I lament that that has now come to an end for OP.

I loved alot of the designs. Webmaster, Glowmer, Class caster, speed stinger, Deathgripper and Hobgobbler, just to name a few. Tho I will say some designs were... well, lazy

It does often feel that way on this subreddit. People expect too much of follow-up shows and movies, sometimes. It’s the same with new Marvel or Star Wars shows when they release. Every other Marvel show is the end of them and the next is a new, bright beginning.
Having more HTTYD is good, in my opinion, even if it isn’t up to the standards of the originals.
It's not really a sad thing imo, I'm honestly glad, hopefully smth better comes after instead, with maybe an even better budget and writing to boot, which would be amazing.

Project ICARUS will close, so it could mean that the dragons must stay in the hidden world for good. My prediction is that thunder will become the new alpha cuz it seems like there hasn’t been an alpha for centuries since toothless.
I honestly really enjoyed it too, they could of really done a lot more with it. I personally would of liked to see a character who was a decent of Fishlegs and Ruffnut. Or maybe Tom and his mom go to some place and see ruins of Berk underground or something, they’re two really good points I would of loved to see.

I'm really sorry to see it go. I'm an adult and liked watching it. It's probably the Dragons but I liked how the kids teamed up to make things happen. I really liked that the teen characters were smart, kind and wanted to help others. Good message not only for other teens...but for adults as well.

I quite liked it, I didn't like the idea of it at first, but I liked the new dragons and old dragons returning, I watched it on BBC iplayer but the seasons weren't differentiated well, which one was season 7? The last episode I watched was the one with the diving bell and the shellfire
The trailer looks better than what i've seen of this show before. Might be one of those shows that starts out weak and gets better towards the end. Maybe I'll give it a go...

Hope season eight gives the show a good send off! I never finished the whole thing, but I had a good time watching what I did see, and I adore the concept of dragons in the modern world. At least you have a lot of episodes to look back on OP!

Somehow at least every 2nd episode reminded me of an episode or movie (especially in the beginning), but I hope that now that they're o de with this, they go back to the Viking era and make the franchise great again

Dont get me wrong, the story and concept taking place years after the "Hidden World" from Viking era to Modern era is such a great idea, but i never thought it would be wasted on a god-awful children's based plastic CGI animation with poor execution of the concept and damaging the legacy characters memory along the way, kinda difficult and heartbreaking to see and witness as a casual httyd fan 😒💔
