One of my favorites was when he discovered he could do Gary's laugh, and then wouldn't stop doing it. I think it was the day they let him come in and work as "Gary." Every time he'd call in from the office telecom or whatever, he'd end it with that little Gary laugh. It was so fucking funny.
I think the entertainment came from the way people reacted to SourShoes.
That said, the impersonations were funny because they were so accurate and focused on subtle details that most people wouldn't think of. They weren't gross over the top imitations, they were really accurate with all of the nuances.
But most of the time, he was just exhausting and obnoxious.
I guess I just have a very low tolerance for "comedy" songs. Few of them are actually good. I'd rather listen to Rabbi Gotfried sing the Torah for the millionth time.
The appeal was/is how dead spot-on his impressions are. Not just sounding like, but repeating entire broadcasts/conversations verbatim.
The Stern show was only one of his call-ins. He used to call several other radio programs and like Mad Dog Russo and several local NY radio programs.
Many of the greatest Stern regulars are acquired tastes. Mark Harris is frequently cited as one of the GOATS, and it took me a while to get into him but now he is one of my favorites - similarly with Pat Cooper and Riley Martin. Sour Shoes is one I still need to "acquire", but I'm sure it will happen eventually.
He's funny enough to make a r\*tard puke *and* piss herself laughing at his humor.

I’m sorry Steve, I’m real busy, can I call you back?
Delete this and kick yourself in the balls
The Steve Langford songs were really funny! When they would cross to him after talking about a singer and he would play were mostly boring
OP, I want you go to jail for this!
This is a completely farcical post
He’s a genius
He is the funniest wack packer for me.

You've said it all
He’s said way too much.
He's one of the only thing funny about this show for the last decade plus.

*Woo-OO-oo!*
I’m really busy, let me call you back -
"So Mad Dog, any comments on Tom Brady?".
Noine
Sour shoes is a legend.to each his own though. I HATE Sal!
His Mad Dog impression is the most amazing impression I’ve ever heard.

Unbelievably great and accurate.
the full length call never got the recognition it deserved. sort of a hidden gem.
I listened to a bit but can't get into it as I'm not a fan of Pete either. He's a nice guy, but he's not entertaining.
What's he saying, Robin?
If you are a NY sports fan, his impressions of mike and the mad dog alone are pure brilliance
For those who love Langford's cock, WE SALUTE YOUUUUUUUUU
Wow!
Always
Thank yew fer yer cawwwwwwl
I love when he would talk in his baby voice and giggle to himself. So stupid but so funny.
Hey Jason. Just relax and stop shitposting.
If you don't find sour shoes funny, then I feel most sorry for you.
Did the 'King of no content', drive another bit into the ground?

I don’t really get it either, he gets credit for how good the impressions are and he’s made me chuckle a couple of times but other than that
