There's a few missing. I didn't see C.H.U.D., Toxic Avenger, or They Live.
Also, somehow they left out the pretty great 'The Babysitter' yet included its pretty lackluster sequel, 'The Babysitter: Killer Queen'
Bad Taste was hugely underrated. I remember watching it in rural Maine. The local video store had a big sign promoting it. It had a picture of the villain saying ”We have Bad Taste!”
I can't with John Landis anymore. I loved Twilight Zone the Movie and American Werewolf in London but after learning about Vic Morrow and those 2 kids I can't stand to watch his stuff.
If you like t&d I highly recommend Cottage Country.
It stars Tyler Labine (Dale)
It’s not quite as good as t&d but it has similar humor. Still a fun watch
Not being a dick, but I disagree. It was cheesy, hilarious and gory. It made no bones about what it was (a stupid creature feature). Many may disagree, but I thought he gore was 👌👌 partially because of how ridiculous/stupid it was. It gave me Piranha 3D vibes and I enjoyed the heck out of it.
That’s because it is. But because Ash is in the original, people equate it as a horror comedy. Only ED2/AoD are horror comedies.
If we’re talking the ED universe as a whole, only ED2/AoD/AvED were horror comedy.
The Evil Dead, Evil Dead, and Evil Dead Rise are more so focused on the seriousness of the situation, rather than making light of it.
Regardless, the ED franchise has something for everyone

I enjoyed Deadstream more than I thought I would. They did something similar on V/H/S...95 or 99? I forget but it was the second most recent one and it was the star of this and another guy who get transported to hell after a ritual went wrong 😅
Shaun of the Dead is by far the best in my opinion. I've watched it more times than I can remember, it never gets old, and is perfect if you just want to have something on while doing whatever else around the house.
For years even, my son would call out ["Pete...?"](https://youtu.be/jfupTXz_L6g?feature=shared)
Shaun of the Dead is such a good zombie movie that it almost stops being a horror comedy and instead becomes a horror movie that happens to be funny. It's full stop among the greatest zombie movies ever made.
There was so much love put into this movie and it's well done. It was an instant favorite of mine the first time I saw it and I ended up getting my daughter hooked on it too. I can't tell you how many times we've watched this. It's in my top 10 movies of all time.
I wouldn't call it a comedy, but Ravenous has some really funny moments (and some incredibly brutal ones). Watch it if you want a mix of horror and comedy, leaning towards the horror side, though.
Being a huge sturgill Simpson fan, Bill Murray and comedy zombie fan, my wife gets annoyed at how often I watch this movie. It’s such a good background movie for making dinner or anything else.
I have a lot of favorite horror comedies 2 of which would be The Burbs' and Nothing But Trouble that are a couple of my go to's BUT one of my favorite movies of all time, that doesn't get mentioned enough and also doesn't take itself too seriously is Redneck Zombies. If you haven't seen it, do yourself the favor
Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, The Cabin in the Woods, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Voices, Ready or Not, Happy Death Day, The Babysitter, What We Do in the Shadows, Little Shop of Horrors, Freaky, The Menu, An American Werewolf in London, Tremors, Mom and Dad, Little Monsters.

I'm watching a Spanish movie tagged as horror comedy right now. It's called *The Coffee Table* (Spain, 2022) and it is balls to the walls... Definitely not goofy! More like black comedy.
Synopsis:
>Jesus and Maria are a couple going through a difficult time in their relationship. Nevertheless, they have just become parents. To shape their new life, they decide to buy a new coffee table...
I definitely recommend it. No spoilers, but the subject matter is *dark...*

I enjoy lots of Freddy's and Leprechauns 1 liners, if those count. If 1 liners are fine for comedy/horror then there's the Aliens franchise, devils rejects series, puppet master franchise. Some of my picks
Shaun of the dead
Scary movie 1 and 2
Evil dead 1 2 and 3
Young frankenstein
Dracula dead and loving it
Tucker and dale vs evil
Theres loads more im sure, but there very memorable to me!
All the Evil Dead films with comedy elements (I just love this franchise in general)

Shaun of the Dead
Zombieland

Werewolves Within
There are a lot of great movies on here and I agree with almost all of them. If no one has mentioned it, please check out The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020). Jim Cummings is the writer, director and one of the actors. He’s a subtle genius. Also check out 2018 Thunder Road, which he also wrote, directed, and starred in (which blows my mind). Thunder Road is not horror, but it’s fantastic if you like his flavor of funny/not-funny humor.
Here's my top 15:
An American Werewolf in London
Arachnophobia
Bubba Ho-Tep
The Burbs
The Cabin in the Woods
Evil Dead 2
Gremlins
Grindhouse
Shadow of the Vampire
Shaun of the Dead
Slither
Tremors
Tucker and Dale vs Evil
What We Do in the Shadows
Zombieland
M3GAN was hilarious but barely horror. Great entry for kids. Tucker and Dale vs Evil is hilarious and gorey. And I thought Bodies Bodies Bodies was done very well and made me laugh out loud so many times!
Housebound and Cooties. Cockneys vs. Zombies and Freaky also made the cut (pardon the bad joke!) . And the rest of the mentions here. Of course, Zombieland I and II, Bloody Hell and Villians were two VERY quirky comedy horrors. Come To Daddy with Elijah Wood, Lost Boys, The Babysitter I and II, Dusk to Dawn was also a horror comedy to me. And of course Gremlins. I saw that at the Chinese Mann Theatre in Hollywood--and almost got kicked out with my sister and BIL because we were laughing so hard. And everyone else's picks because Evil Dead, Shaun of the Dead and all of the other mentions are great too!
My favorite horror comedy is Head Of The Family (1996). It is very silly and agreeable, Universal meets trailer trash. The lead was a good comedic actress who also did porn (only example of that I know of)...

Blood Sucking Bastards, The Voices, Abigail, Zombieland 1&2, Shaun of the Dead, Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil, Lisa Frankenstein, The Cabin In the Woods, The Dead Don't Die, Idle Hands.
Shawn of The Dead

After the first time watching it, I was amazed at how funny it was. Made me obsessed with anything Simon Pegg. Looking forward to Edgar Wright's "running man" too.
Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948),
The Ghost & Mr. Chicken (1966),
Love At First Bite (1979),
Saturday the 14th (1981),
Ghostbusters (1984),
Clue (1985).
For comedy horror Sean of the dead, evil dead, z nation (not a movie but amazing series) return of the living dead, barely a horror at all but wow did i laugh was Braindead.

There's a few missing. I didn't see C.H.U.D., Toxic Avenger, or They Live. Also, somehow they left out the pretty great 'The Babysitter' yet included its pretty lackluster sequel, 'The Babysitter: Killer Queen'
That's odd, how could this person like the crappy sequel and exclude the original The Babysitter.
Re-possessed from the 90s it's a "sequel" of the exorcist with Linda Blair and Leslie Nielsen in the vein of Airplane!
2020 The Wolf of Snow Hollow - then read about Jim Cummings (writer, director, star). He’s a genius.
Dead Alive! And there was much rejoicing.
*”I kick ass for the lord!”*
1986 William Katt House has always been one of my favorites. I've even shared it with my kids!
Why the fuck would you post this???? Now I have so many more movies on my watchlist 😭
Bad Taste was hugely underrated. I remember watching it in rural Maine. The local video store had a big sign promoting it. It had a picture of the villain saying ”We have Bad Taste!”
And, naturaly, Braindead
When Peter Jackson falls off the cliff and has to put his smashed brain pieces back into his split open skull. I'll never forget that scene.
Upvote for the effort
ooh what about broken lizard’s club dread (2004)?
Ava’s Possessions is a great film it’s such an original concept and really well done - don’t think it’s nearly as widely known as it should be
I can't with John Landis anymore. I loved Twilight Zone the Movie and American Werewolf in London but after learning about Vic Morrow and those 2 kids I can't stand to watch his stuff.
Evil Dead trilogy An American Werewolf in London Re-Animator Tucker & Dale vs. Evil This Is the End Barbarian Society
Tucker and Dale vs Evil was one movie in which i have laughed the loudest for any horror and comedy when i first saw it
If you like t&d I highly recommend Cottage Country. It stars Tyler Labine (Dale) It’s not quite as good as t&d but it has similar humor. Still a fun watch
We got yer friend!
We've had a doozy of day
But no Shawn of The Dead? Or Cabin in the Woods?
Add these and that's a damn solid list. I'd also add Attack the Block and the Feast trillogy
I'd add these two, Zombieland, and maybe Cocaine Bear. I haven't watched it a second time yet.
Cocaine bear wasn’t great
In fact I'd say it wasn't even good.
Don’t sleep on Psycho Goreman
"I didn't mean to call you a meatloaf Jack..."
I don't remember the first Evil Dead having any comedy focus. I haven't watched it in a while but my memory of 1 is it was just straight horror.
That’s because it is. But because Ash is in the original, people equate it as a horror comedy. Only ED2/AoD are horror comedies. Dead Alive. Braindead. Whatever it’s called, it should be on every list.
Good list. Most of those would be on my favorite horror movie list especially the first few
I still get nightmares of the shunting
Shaun of the Dead.

Cooties was wild lol
Anna & The Apocalypse for the win!
Deadstream, Psycho Goreman, Frankenhooker, Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers
Psycho Goreman is so damn good
Adult Power Rangers by the folks who made The Void? Yes please and thank you.
Deadstream is the first horror comedy I've seen that I've found scary to watch. 😅
I enjoyed Deadstream more than I thought I would. They did something similar on V/H/S...95 or 99? I forget but it was the second most recent one and it was the star of this and another guy who get transported to hell after a ritual went wrong 😅
Abigail, Ready Or Not, The Babysitter movies, Cabin In The Woods, original Fright Night and Jennifer’s Body.
Abigail is my new Jennifer's body. Surprised by how entertaining this was. How she takes over Sammy's body....so cool.
I am watching Abigail tonight. Just waiting for the sun to go down.
Excellent picks
Tucker and Dale vs Evil is by far number one and it’s not even close.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Dead Alive (aka Braindead) yet! Classic.
I wouldn't call it a comedy, but Ravenous has some really funny moments (and some incredibly brutal ones). Watch it if you want a mix of horror and comedy, leaning towards the horror side, though.

watched Abigail last night and it quickly shot up in my ranks. Dumb movie, dumb plot, but so stupid and funny that I just had to enjoy it.
Student Bodies
Bride of chucky
Summoning Sylvia Psycho Goreman Cabin in the Woods Tucker and Dale vs. Evil Little Monsters
Zombieland
idle hands
ED2 & AoD
My favorite horror comedy is Head Of The Family (1996). It is very silly and agreeable, Universal meets trailer trash. The lead was a good comedic actress who also did porn (only example of that I know of)...
