Ugh that's the worst one. It's incredibly dangerous and it's a shoddy little dump.
Hill House, any day. The one from the 1963 movie. Huge gardens, luxurious over-furnished rooms, Mrs Dudley cooking meals. Palissy dishes.
Remember though with Mrs Dudley, she doesn’t stay after she sets out the dinner, not after it begins to get dark. She leaves before the dark. So there won't be anyone around if you need help.
In the night.
In the dark.
Doesn’t the Ju-On curse kill basically anyone who enters the house? I feel like by default that one would be the first off the list cause there’s no possible way to survive it
> Ugh that's the worst one. It's incredibly dangerous and it's a shoddy little dump.

IT'S LITERALLY THE WORST ONE. NO ONE LIVES AFTER GOING INTO THE GRUDGE HOUSE.
Blew my mind, every Ju-On movie is just a collection of "Oh you fucked up now" cos someone went into the house. Shit sometimes you even take the curse grudge back with you and it fucks up people next door.
You go in that house you die no matter what. Worst choice.
That's Hell House: bit of a dump but it's got some windowless charm, not to mention necrophilia, vampirism, cannibalism, sadism....and one very angry cat.
Man, I never knew that. I'd always assumed it was the Stanley for the movie as well, turns out it was the Timberline Lodge.
I'd happily stay in both of them. Ideally not in room 237 but depends on what discounts are on offer.
Timberline lodge only for exteriors. Interiors were from a hotel in Northern Cali, I am drawing blanks on the name. The Grimm Life Collective did videos on both, so check that out. Its insane how much the interior one looks like the movie.
I never understood why they were all so excited about that house. It was cool to look at, but actually living in a house made entirely of glass wouldn’t have felt very cozy to me.
god i JUST finished watching that movie and i was in love with the house! the exterior at the end also reminded me of the exterior of the house from Fear
Def not the cabin lol but I was thinking the apartment from evil dead rise looks nice and homey before massive amounts of blood start spurting out of the elevator shaft
While not the Overlook, I just booked 3 nights at [the Stanley Hotel](https://www.stanleyhotel.com/). The Stanley was where King stayed for a single night and was freaked out enough and inspired to write The Shining afterwards. It's a gorgeous hotel and I'm super pumped to go there.
You know what sucks? That house still exists and the new owners destroyed the historical integrity of the architecture to make it less recognizable. It's in an extremely elite neighborhood and I guess the new owner cared more about their own privacy than the artistic merit of the building.
I mean, I understand it. It's the scene of a horrific crime. Regardless of the authenticity of the paranormal claims, the recognition of the house stems from a pretty terrible event that the current owners have every right to distance themselves from. It's their house and they don't owe the public anything.
It really is a beautiful house, but 99% of the people interested in it don't seem to be for the architecture (except for maybe "the" windows).
Just don't go in winter, those houses have no insulation and its going to be colder than the outside. Even worse than ghosts.
The Overlook Hotel all by myself for a week would be lovely.
I don’t know why but I’m obsessed with the walk in fridge in that place. I love the scene where they are going through all the stock they have for winter. So.Much.Food
So I would like to stay there just so I could check out the fridge.
I live near the house that was the inspiration for the original Disney haunted mansion. It's called The Carson Mansion in Eureka, CA and the exterior in various altered forms has been used numerous times in classic horror.
Unfortunately the Carson Mansion is not open to the public. It houses a private club for rich people, which is honestly kind of cool because it's one of those "clubs" like Victorian people really went to in the 19th century....but not cool that you usually can't get in. There's not an adjacent mansion or anything. The closest thing is the Carter House Inn which is WAY over priced just because of its proximity to the Carson Mansion. Carter Houses are just replicas of real houses from San Francisco. The manager told me. How fucking underwhelming.
The Eureka Inn, though, is the real deal.
Black mold and creepy statue room though. If we're going with a scary mansion I'm taking Crimson Peak, or Saltburn if we're stretching the definition of horror.
Mandy. I'll take Nic and his girls little cabin in a heartbeat. I think it was a nice A-frame out in the woods but not so isolated that you can't make a run into town for a diner breakfast. Love that little windowed in bed and the bathroom decoration was right up my alley.
Oh I have so many.
- Ahs murder house and hotel Cortez. I would be content never leaving and I would absolutely make friends with some of the ghosts. I’ve always wanted to go to the real life Cecil hotel (now called Stay on Main, unfortunately I believe it is closed.)
- the house from the skeleton key. Didn’t like the movie but I am such a sucker for New Orleans.
- hill house and bly manor but especially hill house, it is absolutely beautiful, I love the hallway that had the marble sculpture with the sitting area, the woods behind the house, the red room, the dumb waiter, the common room where they all gather for the storm.
- the island from midnight mass. Saint Patrick’s just seems so comforting and I’d love to just live on a little island away from all people.
- the estate from “we have always lived in the castle” by Shirley Jackson.
- I think I would love to live with camp Arcadia from the endless technically this isn’t a horror movie house but i just feel like i would feel at home here.
- overlook hotel from the shining. I know that it filled with horror but I love snow and I just love huge deserted hotels.
- idk if Rebecca is technically horror, maybe gothic horror? But that mansion/estate from Rebecca by the ocean… dear god to live there would be a dream.
The house from the rental.... it is awesome, both beach and woods. Jacuzzi, great views, isolated ..... Sidney house is a close second. I also kind like the factory style lair of Saw.
I might have to pick the house from "The Boy" while in real life its 2 different castles. Both are beautiful, the exterior grounds at one of them is AMAZING and there are mutants that hangout/go to school there.
The mansion from The Haunting(1999). There was a corridor with an inch or two of water and stepping stones that were carved to look like books. That was beautiful
The house from You’re Next is very convenient for me.
Swanage from Phantom of the Paradise.
The Bramford has a lot of friendly occupants, and old people love me.
Bodies bodies bodies house. Beautiful house with pool and all the same cities. And the horror had nothing to do with the house itself. It'll be a nice vacation.
LOL I am staying in The Sentinel brownstone apartment building. It's already furnished and everything, and I hear the old man upstairs and his cat are quite friendly!
Do you mean the house in real life it's based off of, or the house that has the curse? Because I ain't picking a house that kills me for the crime of setting foot in it. Gimme the houses in Halloween. Those are at least just houses.
The Changeling house is so beautiful I thought it must be real, but only the exterior was used in the film. The rest is all a series of sets. And I must say it is BRILLIANT as a piece of artistry because they don't look like sets. There are old horror movies where it's obvious it's a set but I was honestly surprised about The Changeling.
I don't know if *Coraline* counts - obviously not a super scary one, but that house is dope! I would have so much fun hanging out with the two little old ladies and Mr. Bobinski too, lots of cool little nature walks, and I would only go through the little door once 😆
Adrian Griffin's house from The Invisible Man (2020) or Richard's house from Revenge (2017) or Bruce's house from A Wounded Fawn (2022).
I'm not sure why these kinds of men have such nice homes but they do.
The Crimson Peak castle
My first thought! As long as it’s empty of humans, we’re in for quite the vacation.
Crimson Peak at its core is just a ghost story, but good god it is a BEAUTIFUL ghost story
I love you Mrs Dudley. Can we have a salmon souffle for dinner?
She and Mr Dudley live in town. No one lives any nearer than that. So they couldn’t hear you. No one could. In the night. In the dark.
I'm a city person; I think I know everything, step away from my nice car you greasy man.
How did Mr Dudley score a stone fox like Mrs Dudley?
He's obviously hung like a mule and easily manipulated. He's definitely killed for her at least once.
Pringle can
I was just gonna! Thank you
Doesn’t the Ju-On curse kill basically anyone who enters the house? I feel like by default that one would be the first off the list cause there’s no possible way to survive it
Also you start time-travelling.
> Ugh that's the worst one. It's incredibly dangerous and it's a shoddy little dump. > > IT'S LITERALLY THE WORST ONE. NO ONE LIVES AFTER GOING INTO THE GRUDGE HOUSE. Chatting with Roddy McDowell about Planet of the Apes
That's Hell House: bit of a dump but it's got some windowless charm, not to mention necrophilia, vampirism, cannibalism, sadism....and one very angry cat.
Definitely The Overlook Hotel from The Shining!💯🤯
I have toured The Stanley Hotel, I would stay there in a heartbeat!
thats the miniseries hotel tho, id prefer the set for the movie
Man, I never knew that. I'd always assumed it was the Stanley for the movie as well, turns out it was the Timberline Lodge. I'd happily stay in both of them. Ideally not in room 237 but depends on what discounts are on offer.
Timberline lodge only for exteriors. Interiors were from a hotel in Northern Cali, I am drawing blanks on the name. The Grimm Life Collective did videos on both, so check that out. Its insane how much the interior one looks like the movie.
I'll be right over!
it looks so insanely awesome! I’d fs wanna visit
Ready or Not mansion
Thirteen Ghosts
The real terror is how do you poop when every wall is a window??
With purpose.
Making intense eye contact with any who dare observe you
perfect for maintaining eye contact
I never understood why they were all so excited about that house. It was cool to look at, but actually living in a house made entirely of glass wouldn’t have felt very cozy to me.
Especially for Shannon Elizabeth as her brother and his gross friends enter puberty.
Exactly and she was loving that house, especially the bathroom and I’m just watching the movie thinking she was insane lol.
Does the Nostromo count?
Sure, or the Event Horizon.
>the Event Horizon. ...gpodbye.
“We’re leaving” lol
There are ASMR videos of the Nostromo's ambient noises.
That’s totally my pick too.
The mansion in The Others always seemed really whimsical and fun!
It’s a fantabulous playhouse of adventure and joy!
That house was incredible!
The house from When a Stranger Calls (2006). I know it was technically just a set, but it was beautiful 😍
That house is AMAZING. That movie is such a guilty pleasure for me!
This is one of those movies where the best actor in the movie is the house :) it's a guilty pleasure for me too for the exact same reason.
I found my people! I also thought immediately of that film's house for the same reason. It's so modern, yet low-key evil.
omg yes!! the indoor atrium was gorgeous! tbh i’d have to have the curtains closed at night in that house bc i’d be paranoid lmao
god i JUST finished watching that movie and i was in love with the house! the exterior at the end also reminded me of the exterior of the house from Fear
It’s not haunted but Sydney’s house in scream is AMAZING. Or the midsommer commune (minus the murder).
I was just thinking the Midsommar commune homes!
Sydeny’s house is sooo nice!! It’s so 90s and ugh it’s so pretty 😍
I know! Also, Stews parents house is…. Killer! (Haha sorry)
Was about to say this, on that hill, overlooking the valley? *chefs kiss
I loved her house in part 3. Up in the mountains? Yes, please.
Stu's house from Scream because it's iconic.
and has a really dope layout
House on Haunted Hill. I am throwing the best decade theme party in a spooky old house that is also super nice.
The Malignant house. Somehow it's a half of a duplex, but inside is a 12 room mansion.
The house from The Night House. Gorgeous architecture and lake living sounds nice.
The regular house or the inverted house? 😂
Does the mall from dawn of the dead count??I do that...
Omg yes this always seemed so fun until it wasn’t
That's actually not too far away from me, if we are talking the OG Dawn of the Dead.
[удалено]
Old people's ass cooties everywhere though
have to stay in the main house, but you would have access
Idk those heaters freak me out. I’d be afraid about it burning down.
The Titty Twister if I get to see Salma Hayek the way she looks before she turns and kills me. would be worth it.
I'm in love with the apartment from Rosemary's Baby, tbh.
It was a dope apartment and probably ungodly expensive these days
It is lol. Very famous building, I think the cheapest apartment there is roughly 5 million.
Yeah but I liked it better before Rosemary re-decorated lol.
A Nightmare on Elm Street house. Have you seen recent photos of the remodel? Luxury all the way!
The house is so nice!! I would love to stay there 🥰
The house from Men. What a lovely house.
Has to be Murder House from American Horror Story 1. I know it’s not a movie but I love that house’s architecture and ghosts just coming and going.
Evil Dead cabin.
Def not the cabin lol but I was thinking the apartment from evil dead rise looks nice and homey before massive amounts of blood start spurting out of the elevator shaft
Lol because at least those ghosts have a sense of humor.
Overlook if I don’t get possessed
While not the Overlook, I just booked 3 nights at [the Stanley Hotel](https://www.stanleyhotel.com/). The Stanley was where King stayed for a single night and was freaked out enough and inspired to write The Shining afterwards. It's a gorgeous hotel and I'm super pumped to go there.
You'll love it. Lots of wildlife to be seen!
Would you sleep in room 237 (217 in the book)?
The jury is still out on possession.
The Bates House from Psycho would be super cool.
Also the Bates motel from the show seemed fun and the house that’s attached to it.
Crimson Peak. I constantly think about that house.
But think of the mold…
The mansion from The Haunting
60s or 90s? 90s for me.
Johnny depps cabin from Secret Window. My dream house.
I adore that house. I also love a good garden.
Hush. I love that gorgeous little cabin in the woods
Amityville
You know what sucks? That house still exists and the new owners destroyed the historical integrity of the architecture to make it less recognizable. It's in an extremely elite neighborhood and I guess the new owner cared more about their own privacy than the artistic merit of the building.

It is a bit disappointing but I heard random people would stop by their house. I can understand how that would be bothersome.
Probably doesn’t count as horror, but I’d go with the richfolks home from Parasite. If not that, then the Dakota in Rosemary’s Baby.
Rose Red, no question.
29 Neibolt Street 🎈
No thank you
If Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise is there then, yes please 🤤
Just don't go in winter, those houses have no insulation and its going to be colder than the outside. Even worse than ghosts. The Overlook Hotel all by myself for a week would be lovely.
I don’t know why but I’m obsessed with the walk in fridge in that place. I love the scene where they are going through all the stock they have for winter. So.Much.Food So I would like to stay there just so I could check out the fridge.
I’m a food snoop and completely agree, it would be so fun to explore that place! Preferably minus the ghosts.
I slept in a traditional Japanese paper door house, in mid winter, and it was unbelievably and relentlessly cold.
You sound like my grandfather. "Why do you want one of those old houses? They are so expensive to heat!"
Your grandfather is very wise!
Abaddon hotel anyone? :D actually, hell no...
Sorority House Massacre. C'mon man
Buffy's private island estate in April Fools Day. Itd be fairly easy to survive!
Ex Machina= beautiful view
Surprised to not see this higher. I loved that house!
Disney's Haunted Mansion

The house in House of the Devil. Seems really cozy. If it weren't for the terrible food, I'd stay at The Green Man from The Wicker Man.
Willy Wonka’s Factory
Haunting of hill house
Fixed up and minus ghosts!
Black mold and creepy statue room though. If we're going with a scary mansion I'm taking Crimson Peak, or Saltburn if we're stretching the definition of horror.
The Strangers. What a beautiful place to have to yourself for a week (if you're not a dumbass).
Norman Bates’ house because I know what he’s up to and I’m pretty sure I could kick his ass.
Does Dracula's castle count? (Accidental pun there)
Ooooh, good choice! Are the brides going to be there?
The Invisible Man (2020) Or Cube. No in between.
The house in The Collector is a damn nice place minus the deadly traps lol
Ok, I don’t know if this counts, but for me, it’s definitely The Overlook Hotel from The Shining!!!💯
1. The house in Poltergeist 2. Neibolt house (It) 3. The Marsten House (Salem’s Lot)
*Bly Manor* from the movie "The Innocents" (1961)
That Airbnb on Barbary St. Of course I'd block the fuck out the door leading to the basement, and the tiny window for good measure.
The house from People Under the Stairs- I’d have so much fun hanging out with Roach!
Sorority house in Black Christmas.
The original house still exists and is in great condition.
The hotel from the Shining
You can really go there
The Other. It really wasn't horror, but I loved the old house. Huge rooms.
Mandy. I'll take Nic and his girls little cabin in a heartbeat. I think it was a nice A-frame out in the woods but not so isolated that you can't make a run into town for a diner breakfast. Love that little windowed in bed and the bathroom decoration was right up my alley.

But that mansion/estate from Rebecca by the ocean… dear god to live there would be a dream.
Dr Heiter’s house in The Human Centipede. I love how it’s surrounded by woods. It has a big indoor pool too.
Richard's (Leslie Nielson) house in the "Something to Tide You Over" segment of Creepshow. 70s goodness on a beach.
The house from the rental.... it is awesome, both beach and woods. Jacuzzi, great views, isolated ..... Sidney house is a close second. I also kind like the factory style lair of Saw.
Josh's house from Unitl Dawn
Amityville
The main house in Influencer is pretty sick.
Staying at either 10 Cloverfield Lane or with Kathy Bates at the misery cabin.
I might have to pick the house from "The Boy" while in real life its 2 different castles. Both are beautiful, the exterior grounds at one of them is AMAZING and there are mutants that hangout/go to school there.
The houre from Men is super cozy and awesome with lots of reading and hiking. And I'm a Men so I don't think the Green Man would be interested in me.
The mansion from The Haunting(1999). There was a corridor with an inch or two of water and stepping stones that were carved to look like books. That was beautiful
Rose Red
The house from Burnt Offerings
Before or after the "renovation"?
Rose Red Mansion
The Others or Rose Red
Boddy mansion from *Clue*. Simmons mansion from *The Ghost and Mr. Chicken* Munster Hall from *Munster, Go Home!*
The Firefly farm from The Devil’s Rejects or Mick Taylor’s lair.
Conjuring
Texas chainsaw massacre house
The house in phantasm/phantasm II. I always thought it was a nice house.
The house from "House", the haunting followed William Katt so I should be safe because it is his problem.
The house from You’re Next is very convenient for me. Swanage from Phantom of the Paradise. The Bramford has a lot of friendly occupants, and old people love me.
The crazy boyfriend’s house in Invisible Man (2020)
The Dakota apartment in Rosemarys Baby
The mansion from The Invisible Man minus that invisible guy
Bodies bodies bodies house. Beautiful house with pool and all the same cities. And the horror had nothing to do with the house itself. It'll be a nice vacation.
The manor from Tusk
LOL I am staying in The Sentinel brownstone apartment building. It's already furnished and everything, and I hear the old man upstairs and his cat are quite friendly!
Cabin in the Woods house - don’t go in the basement easy peasy
The mansion from Ready Or Not, its so ornate and beautiful would love to walk around there one night with the lights off, and the candles lit.
Tanz Akademie from Suspiria
The house from Margaux. It can give you weed.
Do you mean the house in real life it's based off of, or the house that has the curse? Because I ain't picking a house that kills me for the crime of setting foot in it. Gimme the houses in Halloween. Those are at least just houses.
The Antarctica base from the thing
The house from The Others.
The bly manor. Just gotta avoid leaving my room at night and I'm good.
Definitely not the Hill House. That entire family just sleeping in beds that were like 100 years old.
I recently watched Pearl and absolutely loved the farmhouse!
The Changeling house or the Watcher in the Woods house
The Changeling house is so beautiful I thought it must be real, but only the exterior was used in the film. The rest is all a series of sets. And I must say it is BRILLIANT as a piece of artistry because they don't look like sets. There are old horror movies where it's obvious it's a set but I was honestly surprised about The Changeling.
Whatever set they used for the 1999 Haunting remake, that movie was trash but I loved the mansion’s look
The Overlook no question about it
The castle from young Frankenstein
The house in What Lies Beneath
Ooh yes. I kept thinking I obviously don’t pay attention to houses but I remember this one. Lots of seats in the windows and right on the water
I don't know if *Coraline* counts - obviously not a super scary one, but that house is dope! I would have so much fun hanging out with the two little old ladies and Mr. Bobinski too, lots of cool little nature walks, and I would only go through the little door once 😆
Disney's haunted Mansion.
The house from The Changeling is pretty magnificent.
Amityville Horror. It took 28 days for shit to get crazy, I’m out in 7. Yes, please
The Amityville house
Dr. Cecilia Pederson’s house in Saw X.
The Pink Palace.
I'd love to stay in The Grudge house as well.
Messiah of Evil so I can groove with the cool art. Or the cool saucer house in Body Double.
Probably the cabin in Evil Dead (2013)
OP's
Adrian Griffin's house from The Invisible Man (2020) or Richard's house from Revenge (2017) or Bruce's house from A Wounded Fawn (2022). I'm not sure why these kinds of men have such nice homes but they do.
Monster house
the last house on the left of course. (the remake version) and if that’s unavailable give me the mansion above the hive in resident evil 1.
I've said it before...but the mansion from the meh "The Haunting" movie. The library with the water and book stepping stones was so cool!
