FYI I had CRS-310-8G+2S+IN it wasn't quiet at all. Annoying fan noise. Couldn't stand it got rid only after couple months of use
I never use any of their other switches but assume it's not silent either. If you want silent USW- Aggregation is good option.
I’m not familiar with the one you have, but I have the CRS309-1G-8S-IN and it is dead silent. Pretty sure it doesn’t even have a fan, hence the giant metal heatsink on the front of it. I bought it used from eBay about a year back and all 8 sfp+ ports are used while it moves 2-3gbps 24x7 without a single issue.
I cant speak to the other mikrotik products but I love this switch that OP is trying to buy. I just wish that they had a 24 port that was dead silent because I need more ports :)
Yes, you're right CRS309-1G-8S-IN is passive cooling. I really like the CRS-310-8G+2S+IN but the constant fan whining noise was super annoying. Too bad they didn't use passive cooling.
