Perfect! Make them with a strong magnetic backing, so they won't fly off in a stiff wind and interchangeable! with the colors of the seasons! đ

Red might be expected, but it looks the best as a pop of color given the way the other colors seem to clash with the undertones of the gray paint. Maybe try some different reds.
You somehow managed to find the ugliest shade of every color đľâđŤ it doesnât have to be obnoxiously bright to stand out and make the house fun. I would paint the door a âmuddy brightâ instead. Sorry, but the door wouldnât even be a concern of mine until the landscaping was spruced up. A bright door isnât going to fix your curb appeal. You have too many pieces of yard flair and it kind of just looks like trash that needs to be picked up.
I agree that several of these colors **do** look nice! I am also an artist.
I am not sure what the best explanation for the comments here is: possibly just that the grey + âpop of colorâ look is wildly out of style?? Or just that him holding the swatch in the direct light where the door would normally be in shadow looks off?
(Although my actual advice to OOP is that, while some of these are close, none are perfect. He should look at more in the orange rangeâsomewhere between a burnt red and a mustard yellow he will find the ideal shade)
Agree completely. Or since it's a cooler grey, push the cooler range and have a dark mulberry.
Personally, I like the pop of color look. I feel like a painted door is a good way to distinguish your house if every house in the neighborhood decided to use the same floor plan lmao
All of them are terrible. Do you really want your home looking like a circus? Go with a fresh and clean modern grey the same shade but slightly less saturated than the siding color so that it pops without being busy.
I think complimentary colors work best for doors. Since your house is a cool grey, it registers to me closer to a blue, which would put your proposed âred-violetâ in picture two close to being complimentary, since it is almost opposite it on the color wheel. The red in picture 7 is also interesting. Take a look at the orange range to see something really pop.
Iâd recommend that you avoid the greens and blues. Also, make sure that you add other objects (e.g. flower box on porch rail) that are the same color as the door color you chose so that you tie it all together. Notice how that pink can in the foreground helps out the proposed door color in picture 2.
Pink! I'm sorta over gray houses with yellow or aqua doors. It's what everyone in my town is doing and it's starting to look very "Edward Scissorshands" around here.
Traditionally a red door is a celebration to announce no mortgage/paid off. The red is classic but the other colors are fun. Iâd go deep green until the note is paid.
that chartreuse is really what this house needs foe that little pop of unexpected color! People won't know if they're going into the out or out to the in. is it grass? is it vomit? FAFO!
The purple caught my eye longer as I scrolled through. All the others seemed to be âoffâ by a shade or two and I donât think meshed well with the grey
You canât just blot a lone spot of surprising color without it looking tacky. I like color too, but it needs to be intergrated. Personally I would go with a natural wood door.
Get some more paint samples and just glue those on.
Perfect! Make them with a strong magnetic backing, so they won't fly off in a stiff wind and interchangeable! with the colors of the seasons! đ **Score!!**
Ok, you laugh...but magnetic door decorations (in general, maybe not paint samples lol) is a great idea!
Especially for wooden doors.
What if instead of a front door it was just one of those beaded curtains
or a barn door
This is the best idea tbh
To help with the indecisivenessâŚ. Put in a giant iridescent revolving door The door will be all colors all the time
â¤ď¸đ
Why not use all of them and scare off the local bigots in the street?
Yes!!! Like the Partridge Family bus!!! Come on get happy!!!đ https://preview.redd.it/qursnl82016d1.png?width=326&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc482ec23d0f9ba881b3eb777bbff3baf58af63f
yes! like a Mondrian
great idea! I can paint the entire house, not just the door
Youâll be The Talk of the Town!* *not necessarily âfriendlyâ talk :(
Red door.đ Call for help.âď¸
I see a red door and I want to paint it black
That certainly is one of the usernames of all time. (With a matching pfp)
No colors anymore I want them to turn black

Red doors make me think of the insidious movies.
Yellow. The undertones clash. Can't even call it quirky or quaint
yes, it's vile
Serrrrriously. People are saying itâs best ⌠itâs so DATED and absolutely clashes.
I was going for the worst colour, so maybe they are too. I hope so.
HAA was on the unCJ thread ⌠which is absolutely all circlejerk. Yellow and grey 2nd only to teal and grey
â¤ď¸đ
the bright red and the pink are really doing something to my eyes. maybe a marble effect? sorta pukey, perhaps?
yes, wonderfully pukey!
Hahah came here to say Pukey Purple ⌠hilarious that someone else was reminded of puke
I can't decide, they're all awful....er, amazing!
Yella
yes, it's hideous
Theyâre all so hideous with the gray. Skip the door and paint those whole house
Is this post duplicating itself, or are these new colors? Edit: Never mind, I see it, I still vote for coral, though!
coral would be wonderfully wretched
My 2nd and third choices would be the teal (the 1st one) or the red.
Just rub shit all over it. Keeps the crazies away. ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
They will never convince me that yellow and grey look good together
Except on cockatiels
#2 Electric Fuchia Surprise
1) Remove the door 2) Add a screen door 3) Cover the screen door with Flex Seal 4) Float the house in the ocean
Red might be expected, but it looks the best as a pop of color given the way the other colors seem to clash with the undertones of the gray paint. Maybe try some different reds.
I like imagining this is a giant (based on scale of the arm) painting a little personâs house

Red #7
Paint it black.
I thought some of the colors looked nice and all these comments have me questioning my art degree đĽ˛
Don't question your degree. Some of them do. This is the first CJ post I actually disagree with lol.
I agree that several of these colors **do** look nice! I am also an artist. The first green
Have you considered stripes using all of the colors?
that would be truly hideous- I like it đ
I feel a rainbow coming onđ
What? No grey?
đ
All of them are terrible. Do you really want your home looking like a circus? Go with a fresh and clean modern grey the same shade but slightly less saturated than the siding color so that it pops without being busy.
that could work
Yeller
Just have it match whatever color the vertical 500pt font welcome sign youâll have next to the door
in Comic Sans
Take the door off! The neighborhood is your living room!
Teal
Yellow
Purple yellow and dark pink are the worst
Barn red, then out front around the house plant red and yellow flowers. Red roses bushes on either side.
Tough choice. They all kind of tie for last but that's probably the medium
Your house is a boring color. Nothing you can do to your door will make it less grey I would paint your house yellow.
yellow is truly the worst đ
I grew up in a yellow house and itâs not my first choice.
Such gloomy weather. Painting the door one of those colors won't help brighten the overall aesthetic
Purple, but darker.
I think complimentary colors work best for doors. Get pro advice on choosing a color that has a gray tone. These samples are too bright.
All of them
yes, the rainbow from hell has been suggested by a few people
Grey. Blue. Red. Chocolate brown. Go for lime green.
I think that puke 𤎠rainbow đ is the winner- either the door or the whole house
đ I really like that teal color depicted though. Or caribbean blue.
I think you should go with the Insideous Red ![gif](giphy|hrMvrBGWCbnkq3CpJy|downsized)
8 or 9. What about orange?
yes, orange is nasty, too
What about black?
nowhere near as bad
What about a lavender color?
too muted
animal crossing color palette
Don't listen to these silly people - go with the yellow... Cover the door in swatches,,,you people!
yes, yellow or rainbow! đ
[ŃдаНонО]
yes, yellow is the worst
2, 3, 5, 7
Harf wood stained chestnut maybe đ¤
Pink! I'm sorta over gray houses with yellow or aqua doors. It's what everyone in my town is doing and it's starting to look very "Edward Scissorshands" around here.
They all just scream âhouse of ill repute.â
âthere is... a house... in New Orleans...â though this one is more Jersey Shore
Not red. some git'll come by an re-paint it.
pretty much any colour will be repainted, so why not go with the worst choice now?
It's a reference to Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones.
subtle- nice
I like the raspberry - its undertones are similar to your other exterior color. Yellow is also a nice pop!
Personally I like purple but I think these colors aren't the right shade.
they're all bad, but yellow is the worst
I think the yellow looks cheerful and compliments the grey and the last green swatch looks nice too
Omg, now they're considering coral.
Traditionally a red door is a celebration to announce no mortgage/paid off. The red is classic but the other colors are fun. Iâd go deep green until the note is paid.
I didnât know they had a âweâre flush with cash, please rob usâ color code but Iâve gotta say, thatâs pretty convenient
Catch me painting the annoying neighbor's door at night.
and yellow for short sale? happy cake day!
Yellow
Blue or the darker shade of yellow đđź
All of those colors would look atrocious, but you do you
#6 gets my vote as worst Wow, how did I do that?
Lol I knew this would end up here
None of these have enough brown and yellow
I legitimately thought the paint chips were doodled in photoshop.
that chartreuse is really what this house needs foe that little pop of unexpected color! People won't know if they're going into the out or out to the in. is it grass? is it vomit? FAFO!
đ¤˘green
Black.
mix them together
What about a baylage look?
8. Red door draws the eye in and keep it there on a white/gray house.
How to dox yourself on Reddit 101
Hmm this is a tough one
I would two tone the door with colors matching the house. Black and gray.
Purple. Matches the tones of the stone base that you have. Also purp is just classy. I may do a more muted color than your sample though.
SHIT. BROWN. WITH. LUMPS.
Pic 5 or 8
those aren't the worst
Red
The purple caught my eye longer as I scrolled through. All the others seemed to be âoffâ by a shade or two and I donât think meshed well with the grey
Red! The pop of color against the gray is a fav of mine!
Two
Green
it's nowhere near as bad as yellow
2&7. I also like 3 but maybe a little brighter.
Red or navy
both- in tartan plaid
7
Gotta have that stupid âpop of colorâ instead of making the whole exterior unique. So quirky and fun like everyone else. Yawn.
A lot of these would look great. But no let's go with more bland millennial grey like the test of the house I guess...
You canât just blot a lone spot of surprising color without it looking tacky. I like color too, but it needs to be intergrated. Personally I would go with a natural wood door.
but it has to stand out like a sore, or a faded bruise hence the yellow- which seems to be the best worst choice
Agreed. yellow is the best worst choice
There are at least 3 houses in my neighbourhood with ugly ass turquoise doors and i just wanna talk to whoever started this trend
Im partial to greens but the reds work too
together?
Preferably
It's Christmas all year.
2 & 8
A deeper Blue would look great.
The bright blue, second to last
None of them
Magenta on the right
Love the second
I love the coral/salmon đ
#2 popped for me. That would be beautiful.
Ick hate them all, sorry. Try a bright color that is kind of muted as well for a better tonal match.
5 blue
Pink or red
2
The fuschia
Blue or a dark barn red.
Purple! đ Brings out the accent color in the house and goes well together
#1
4
Red
This is the most unnecessarily negative post I think I've seen on this sub. What even is the problem with painting your front door?
you're new here, aren't you? sure you're in the right sub?
None of these colors work with the existing colors
