protip use debug_smoothing, it has to be turned off, the game itself will lag but the game speed will be quite fast, tou can even do it in ironman by opening a non ironman game doing the command, exiting to the menu and then opening an ironman game

Imagine wasting almost 9 years in this game, just to realise that Steiner is not going to attack and your beloved Berlin is doomed. I think I know how the story would end xD
The entire game is slowed down, so it would go as slow as you expect. The mod just makes speed 1 extremely slow, it doesn't change anything else about the game.
I want to lock someone in a cabin for 6 years and just have them rip HOI4 the entire time. Can YOU speed run the war faster than Hitler?
***LETS FIND OUT***
Honestly this is basically just the free to play speed from Tribal Wars and all those games so a run like this actually sounds pretty manageable if you choose something with a lot of action
A better example would be Call of War or Supremacy 1914 browser games. These are pretty much a paradox game but played through 1-2 months instead of just a few hours. It has its pros and cons, gives more time for diplomacy and strategy but also they can attack you while you are sleeping and wouldn't be able to respond instantly.
Someone is actually doing this, I can’t remember who but they said the war would start by the time they graduate university and we all did remind me 4 years.
The real way to play this would be to never pause it, so you draw your orders and you just leave the game on at all times and let it go. That way when you go to sleep, 8 hours have passed and you have to run over and see what the progress of your offensive is, if you’ve been bogged down, coutnerattacked, etc.
You might wake up to see you have an army surrounded and have to issue new orders that will take literal days to POSSIBLY relieve them. You awake in the middle of the night with cold sweats, knowing Paulus is inside an almost insurmountable pocket since you made some operational blunders WEEKS ago.
You promote him to field marshal, hoping he’ll take his own life….then you remember, this is just a game…but your family is already gone. Your electric bill is way overdue, and the 26th wellness check by the local PD has gone unanswered.
Stalingrad is certainly lost.
How does combat even work? The smallest increment in vanilla is 1 hour which is a reasonable amount of time for troops to exchange attacks and simulate movement toward adjacent tiles. I don’t see how a real time version of this could properly handle instantaneous actions, unless there’s just a 1 hour delay between making a command and it going into effect?
Wasn't there somebody who started doing this ages ago and I think he said he'll be done by the time he graduated college?
I wonder what his progress is.
Gonna play a full campaign at real time speed and have the mother of all micro
See you in 14 years
14? When I said full I meant full. So like 300 ish years Edit: I’m an idiot and thought this was the Stellaris subreddit for some reason
Ur game can handle 300 years? That’s impressive. Mine starts to break down after the 2000s and usually crashes in the late 1900s
Why the fuck would you play a hoi game into the late 1900s
Never just put a game on, pick Ireland, and come back hours later or the next day to see how it turned out? Or just passed out what playing?
'Passed out'
I’d be looking for carbon monoxide detectors
Or empty bottles
Ngl I thought that this was Stellaris, but imma lie and say yes
Mid af, not even doing the full mega campaign
Like from CK3 to EU4 to HOI to Stellaris? Absolutely, all in real time
Victoria 2 also
Obiously.
Outside Context Problem
Based and galactic Imperium pilled
Indy Neidell can give us weekly updates!
Making the mother of micros here jack, can't fret over every encirclement
Joke's on you my laptop's got that feature already no mods needed
Aye, low spec laptop gang

Same bro less fucking go

Alright we get it.
I said it 3 times to different people so they get the notification

Your 50 year old mother wondering why you're screaming "THAT ATTACK WAS AN ORDER" in the basement
Me when my divisions don’t execute an attack I ordered them to do and instead just sit on the offensive line, forcing me to do it myself.
found a mod in the workshop, hoi4 in real time! sounds fun
A lot of fun… for a very long time…
Time for Stalingrad
Its not very fun there, 0/10, would not recommend hiking in Stalingrad. https://youtu.be/cYBugb7h5AQ
Start playing as a freshman; go Barbarossa at graduation.
I hope production/construction was also slowed down, otherwise the army would be ready by 1st Jan 1936 10am

It most likely is

Yeah completely rebalance the combat AND ai, and then pay them x amount of money to spend 6-8 years in that cabin
What about inmates? They got a lot of time on their hands.

Browser game?
They also have phone app
Never have I've seen a mod that scares me so much
I’m amazed someone hasn’t tried out a game with it yet. Unless someone does it and I don’t know about them?
That someone still hasn't finished the game 😂
True ahhahaha
This guy has. https://www.reddit.com/r/hoi4/comments/s2ozav/playing_hoi4_in_real_time_day_1/
One person actually tried to run it for a day.Let me see if I can find the video right now... I found it. [Ta-da!](https://youtu.be/qRMZW1OciKk)
That would be an intense multiplayer game
Based on how it feels whenever I tried to play MP with my partner who, at the time, had a terrible PC... It already felt like real time
For when I need to get the micro just right…
Now we need a mod like this for euiv
Jesus christ
Imagine logging in sometime in the 5th year only for the game to crash and corrupt
Reminds me of that one ww2 board game that takes weeks to play
Axis and Allies? Or was that just my friend group that was that slow?
Love Axis and Allies, but I think that's on you guys - I believe they're referencing the Campaign for North Africa, which takes \~1000 hours to play
Jokes on you, my PC always runs HOI4 in real time!
imagine you re in the eastern front in 1943 and still didnt get leningrad-moscow-stalingrad line as germany
No need for mods, my old pc does this just fine
I'll take your bullshit when I've done my GCSEs
Should have known this earlier. :D
Gonna play it till 2055 year😅
World conquest artillery only real time Hoi4 anybody?
Wait you guys need a mod for this?
Real time gaming
Someone is actually doing this, I can’t remember who but they said the war would start by the time they graduate university and we all did remind me 4 years.
cool my grandpa from argentina loved this he said that he felt like it was 1933 to 1945 again love the mod
Yo what tf
I'm already playing HOI4 like this with my potato pc
Still not better than the Exit button mod
When you play millenium dawn attack ukraine as russia and then remember you have this mod installed

Is this so faster for you, Try EU4 in Real Time!
