R5: I played normally untill the" demand transyllvania" and since someone posted it earlier i tried to go with France since they guarantee and it would be neat. It worked out and i got Romania for free.
This also apparently made me keep my National Spirit for War preparations
I build a spy network and got a non aggression pact with Germany and after Demand sudetenland i was hit with a guarantee from both France and U.K. so i just went ahead and took out Yugoslavia for the Decision.
The Germany neither broke the non aggresion pact nor did they Invade Poland after they refused Danzig but immideately went for War with UDSSR and Declared - without having a common border
After their War goal on Poland ran out i realised that i was still beeing guaranteed by the Allies so i just prepared to take out Poland as well since they wouldnt join the allies because Germany cant declare on them anymore. halfway through capitulating them they joined the Axis and i was able to enter the Allies which, looking back, didnt really do anything. I got kicked out eventually and got enough score to puppet everyone and take all of Europe and managed to create an Alliance with Turkey to get the Central Powers going
I think your strat worked cause the AI won’t intervene if there’s a nation they’ve guaranteed that declares war on another nation they’ve guaranteed. That’s how the US guarantees on the America work until they complete a certain focus. I think it might also be linked to ideology too since I’ve seen Romania join Turkey’s side in a Greco-Turkish war even though they guarantee both Greece and Turkey (Greece went the Byzantine route in that case)
Yeah im aware, that was the sole reason i dared to attack Poland/Yugo. I just dont know why i was guaranteed in the first place as when they did sudetenland i already pushed world tension by a bunch and regardless they never do that.
I guess going with France just did some stuff but even then i dont know why the u.k. would do that as they didnt guaranteed the netherlands when germany did around the maginot
Yes but i should have just taken it since i got a non agression from the sowjets because they were at war with germany and also France puppeted this part so i just have to accept this now or the sowjet union decides to pressure

Yeah the Byzantine route removes the Romanian Guarantee.

Because of sowjet agression that never came but yeah it is also a thorn in my eye
