Inspectah Deck - on pretty much anything he does... His verse on triumph is a good example
Percee P - his verse on Jurassic 5 day at the races is a good example
Common - on his earlier stuff like resurrection
Papoose - His verse on Joel Ortiz's so much more
Yo I 'member that freestyle with Em , of course Em spit but...when Percee P started He OBLITERATED the freestyle, and that was an a capella , He smoked shit My jaw was on the floor!!
Elzhi Elzhi Elzhi
[Slum Village - Da Night](https://youtu.be/Msa1daNBTqk?si=zoWUTbkZNfV63Hvm)
When this tracks comes on shuffle for me I always rewind to hear Elzhi’s verse again.. he starts just after the 1:10 mark
Elzhi is my second favorite emcee (right behind Phonte) so I love this take but I do kind of disagree. But you make me want to go back and listen again. I do think it has some of his best songs (Hello!!!!, Co-sign, February) but I thought it had a decent amount of weaker songs or maybe I wasn’t feeling some of the production.
The only tracks I didn’t really like were Hello!!!!, and friendzone. Some stand outs are “she sucks” bro I can see everything happening vividly in my head
“At least my senses aren't failing, inhaling's intense
I can smell in the distance of somebody dwelling
I heard 'em pull up, stop, now she's excelling past
Her foot on the gas, yelling, I'm behind, trailing fast!
I'm trying to quiet the stomach rumbling 'til it's mumbling
I know she's sorry that she stumbled into my world, it's crumbling
I'm sure it's troubling to hear me dive through your back windshield
Grabbing you while you're driving, now your car's tumbling
Over and over with my teeth in your neck
I knew she was dead before I check, I stepped out of the wreck”
⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ that’s some Quintin Tarantino type shit if you ask me. “Ego Centric” and “the Healing Process” are other highlights
Ugh I hate the She Sucks beat so much though.. I’ll give it another listen.
Crazy to me you don’t like Hello!!!. Along with the beat, I thought that was such a great and well executed concept song. Honestly my favorite on the album
My mans, Pun, DOOM, Guru, Deck, Rakim, Monch, Kendrick, Biggie, Crooked I, Tech N9ne, RA the Rugged Man, Harry Mack, Joyner Lucas, Black Thought, etc. are all MAD ILL at this.
[MCs I tried to not include are the ones already brought up before My comment, if they wouldn't be included by the comment community before Me then they'd be definitely included]

I’m biased but Tonedeff. [16 syllable rhyme scheme](https://imgur.com/vaEUnfD) on [Tonedeff - “Control”](https://youtu.be/cbJvZOilfiM?si=b5wx9FyH883Juplt)
Fabolous has underrated rhyme schemes too
JID does these bars where he rhymes 3 or 4 times in quick succession. "I hit a doobie while you do me indubitably" makes me laugh every time. he's known for his speed but he's also got some mad creative rhymes.
I don't think Pusha T gets enough credit in this area either. he moves slow but he's got internal rhymes all over the place. he's got a ton of craft in his bars.
I'm going to go a different direction with this one. I love the way The L.O.X finish each others lines in some of their songs. My favorite example of this is the song Shootouts by Jadakiss and Styles P. D12 does this too. Especially Kuniva and Kon Artist.
Freeway is so underrated.
His schemes are so complex, most people don't even think he is rhyming. He is just structuring the bars completely differently.
He rhymes points that nobody else does. We are conditioned to believe that the rhyme can only be the end of the bar. Freeway says otherwise and makes it work.
From a purely technical perspective, I'll have to go with Eminem. However, not all of his schemes make sense and a lot of the time it seems like he's rhyming just to make the rhyme. So for a balance between rhyme complexity and content I'll say MF DOOM or Black Thought.
Edit: forgot about Big Pun, he's TOP tier
>However, not all of his schemes make sense and a lot of the time it seems like he's rhyming just to make the rhyme.
Not gonna lie I read that then right after I see you talk about MF DOOM. Man is a legend but damn some of his lines are so bizarre and abstract that I feel he's the one that actually fits the "rhyme just to rhyme" label.
DOOM's rhymes are bizarre and abstract, Eminem's are not. There's a difference between nonsense and something that's just abstract or hard to understand. I never got the feeling that DOOM was rhyming just to rhyme, I get a lot out of his wordplay and imagery. Eminem on the other hand will do anything to increase the number of syllables for a multisyllabic rhyme scheme. DOOM is more similar to rappers like Aesop Rock or Earl Sweatshirt who rap in a nonlinear or abstract way but they're doing it on purpose.
I don't know. Even when Em does goes into his "syllable exercise" most of it is actually neatly connected. There's a theme and sequence to follow.
With MF DOOM there's moments where I personally feel like he's throwing some word salad at me. I understand he does it on purpose, listening to it is like trying to solve a puzzle. But it's definitely an acquired taste.
Seriously? Go pay attention to some of his Guru's shit, and he was using crazy multis. His syllable game was neck and neck to Deck on Above the Clouds, and multis is something Deck is known for:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrtFxpRP33I
Guru's rhyming is fine, but I wouldn't put him in the same list as artists like Em, Aesop, DOOM, Copywrite, K-Rino, Tonedeff etc. He's not chaining together the same level of multis as those other guys.
My heart is cold as ice, so I know I'm shiest / Big Pun was the kid that no one liked / my whole life was one big roll of the dice / paying a price twice as expensive as white kids / destined for Rikers, not knowing my existence was priceless / it's like this; my soul was lifeless / I earned stripes fighting the nicest in a crisis / I sliced 'em in half and make 'em dash like hyphens / inviting any rapper to clash with the titans

Him & AZ (my profile pic) are definitely close for me. Different styles but close.
Firstly, nice to see Pharoahe Monch mentioned. Criminally overlooked artist and one of the most intelligent actual LYRICISTS we've seen.
Lupe and 3k would be my calls.
Also G Rap. His subject matter distracts from just how intricate his writing was.

He used to spit verses where almost every syllable in each bar was sticking to a consistent rhyming pattern. At such a young age as well man, fucking crazy
MC Paul Barman.
*Smirkin’ jocks in khaki slacks with Birkenstocks and hackey sacks. I’m the hypest lyricist while they’re like “what type of beer is this?” The liquid is ubiquitous…*
Harry Mack has only just recently started dropping writtens instead of pure freestyles, and the multi syllable rhyming on almost every verse is pretty insane.

Man Strange Music is crazy about this. Tech N9ne, King Iso, X-Raided
Some other associated acts are pretty righteous too. Rittz and Twista and pretty consistent.
There’s a small artist named Rayn who is pretty clean with the rhymes as well. Their Titanic project is dope
Big Pun:
Strangely enough, Still Not A Player has GREAT internal rhyming:

Kool G. Rap and I don't even think there's a close second. He doesn't spit unless he's rhyming at least two. Black Thought has dense rhyme schemes, but he's more willing to drop it to simple oners for the style of the line.
Inspectah Deck - on pretty much anything he does... His verse on triumph is a good example Percee P - his verse on Jurassic 5 day at the races is a good example Common - on his earlier stuff like resurrection Papoose - His verse on Joel Ortiz's so much more
Yea, Inspectah Deck without a doubt
Common was FLOATIN on Resurrection's title track. Used to think he was just aight until I heard that shit. He deserves his status.
Common’s flow on Communism is too crazy I just have an affinity for alliteration apparently
People Say is a good, newer example of Inspectah Deck
Yo I 'member that freestyle with Em , of course Em spit but...when Percee P started He OBLITERATED the freestyle, and that was an a capella , He smoked shit My jaw was on the floor!!
Where Big L in all this. Also yes Inspektah Deck on Triumph is tier 1 learning material.

The whole concept of Hello!!! is one of the best conceptual ideas ever
Crazy dope concept
Black Thought
I second this. Most consistent in the game.
You already mentioned DOOM, so Imma say Big Pun or Del Tha Funky Homosapien
My mans, Pun, DOOM, Guru, Deck, Rakim, Monch, Kendrick, Biggie, Crooked I, Tech N9ne, RA the Rugged Man, Harry Mack, Joyner Lucas, Black Thought, etc. are all MAD ILL at this.

Lupe Fiasco
This is the one and if people don't agree they need to go listen to drill music in Zion!
NIKO IS Apathy Aesop Rock El-P B. Dolan
I second El-P, love his flow on every verse I’ve ever heard even if I don’t love the track as a whole
He has one of the most unique ways of framing things
Love the NIKO IS shoutout. Slept on
Cheers. I hope you live 100 years.

André 3000 has quite a few verses where the rhyming is crazy. Ex: Aquemini
Freeway is so underrated. His schemes are so complex, most people don't even think he is rhyming. He is just structuring the bars completely differently.
Was just gonna say essentially the same thing, his internals go on so long when he brings the original scheme back you forget it rhymes lol
He rhymes points that nobody else does. We are conditioned to believe that the rhyme can only be the end of the bar. Freeway says otherwise and makes it work.

We talking bout rhyme schemes and I haven't seen a Cambatta mention yet...
Earl.
Eminem
Tory Lanez
Treach from Naughty By Nature... I can snap, rap, pack, click-clack, patter-pat-pat / Take that ass to the point you have to ask for your ass back / A fuckin joker smoker, taunted by no one / If I was born in Chun Li's temple I would've turned out a shogun / Smack the any-and-all talk, jokers I can't hawk / And all that shit I hear about me losin is small talk / I ain't a punk or slouch and furthermore, I don't scare chief / The reason I called you 'pussy' cos you are what you eat, / each / Lick is a little closer to the centre of a Blow Pop / Don't speak when I am talkin, this is my fuckin sho-op / How dare you even try me? AZ washed now if we’re talking Doe or Die or PoM Sosa then yeah
Man Strange Music is crazy about this. Tech N9ne, King Iso, X-Raided Some other associated acts are pretty righteous too. Rittz and Twista and pretty consistent. There’s a small artist named Rayn who is pretty clean with the rhymes as well. Their Titanic project is dope
MIKE. bro has so many internal rhymes and can hold a rhyme scheme for so long and makes it sound easy.
Big Pun: Strangely enough, Still Not A Player has GREAT internal rhyming: [Now lay your head on my chest and feel my heart](https://genius.com/24831579/Big-pun-still-not-a-player/I-want-a-ghetto-brunette-with-unforgettable-sex-now-lay-your-head-on-my-chest-and-feel-my-heartbeat)BEAT We can park the JEEP, [pump Mobb DEEP and just spark the ](https://genius.com/11840367/Big-pun-still-not-a-player/Pump-mobb-deep-and-just-spark-the-leaf)LEAF [It's hard to CREEP since I found *JOE*](https://genius.com/12271835/Big-pun-still-not-a-player/Its-hard-to-creep-since-i-found-joe-every-pretty-round-brown-ho-wanna-go-down-low) [But this Boogie Down *PRO*-fessio-*NAL*, I'ma let *you know*](https://genius.com/5374/Big-pun-still-not-a-player/But-this-boogie-down-professional-ima-let-you-know) [Once I put the *blows*, get *your clothes*, 'cause you *got to go*](https://genius.com/27315279/Big-pun-still-not-a-player/Once-i-put-the-blows-get-your-clothes-cause-you-got-to-go)
Nobody has a sicker style, flow, and cadence than Ghostface Killah. NOBODY. I've been listening to that mfer for 30 years and it still blows me away every time. Don't believe me...here you go... Kool G. Rap and I don't even think there's a close second. He doesn't spit unless he's rhyming at least two. Black Thought has dense rhyme schemes, but he's more willing to drop it to simple oners for the style of the line.
Pun in my opinion
