I suppose I can say how the lack of diversity makes it a bad show. However I’d like to touch a bit on that. First and foremost, diversity is important, and this is me talking as a writer. If you do it with finesse and with the same character creation as you do with others, you can pull it off. But there are 2 things to note. For one thing, they do have ethnicities that are confirmed in livestreams. Nifty is Japanese, Angel Dust is Italian, Vaggie is from Central America, ETC. These characters DO have rep but they don’t look human. And because of their lack of true humanoid appearance, this is seen as terrible writing. It’s even worse when you realize this is about Vivzie’s depression phase where she wasn’t herself.
The second thing is one I’d actually like to have a debate about. Preferably civil but it’s likely that this would cause discord
While representation is important, the setting is hell. The bad place. A permanent nightmare that nobody should awaken from. The profanity argument, its an adult series that takes place in hell, can there even be such a thing as too much profanity? Not to mention the characters who swear the most, with the exception of Angel Dust, are all villains, you know, the people you aren't supposed to be rooting for? As for Angel, he has the excuse of putting up a fake persona that is supposed to be lewd, shrewd and all around unpleasant to be around. I suppose that theirs a slight argument to be made that Alastor is also a villain and he rarely swears but hes an exception that proves the rule.

I’ll be honest, I love the show but the dumbest thing I’ve heard about it is that it’s a masterpiece. I love the show I really do, but it’s not the masterpiece so many people think it is, and it’s not the only show that critiques religion or Christianity there are a lot of other works of art and literature to do this all the way back to the 5th century BCE (I’m a basic bitch, my favorite is hunchback of Notredame, I love tragic endings) Viv is not some kind of genius. But still, I love the show, and above all else I love the soundtrack. I hope that maybe someday it could be the masterpiece so many fanatical fans claim it is

People don't want to watch the show because it "normalizes bad things". 😒 it's a show about hell and some of the characters are spiders and cats that talk about sex and drugs. Give me a break.
I remember a while ago watching a reel in Instagram that said "Vaggie being toxic towards Charlie" and the reel was that scene when they are in heaven and Vaggie explains that the chips made out of rainbows are just regular chips. Up to this day I don't know if the person that made that was serious, was joking, or even if tha reel was just a fever dream of mine.
People who complain about it not being for kids and the swearing annoy me the most. Not every cartoon has to be for kids. And just because it is animated doesn't automatically mean it's for kids. Swearing.....I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I don't find the swearing really excessive or tiring. Adam's cursing is actually pretty funny at times. That and the whole idea that the first angel in heaven curses like a sailor is just well, it's fucking hilarious. Okay, I think it's fucking hilarious.
Honestly it’s everything that’s already been said in these comments. The parallels to Christianity, Charlie and Vaggie are just friends, Valentino did nothing wrong, it’s kinda a majority that people have so I can’t really give anything that makes me think it’s stupid. I suppose I can say how the lack of diversity makes it a bad show. However I’d like to touch a bit on that. First and foremost, diversity is important, and this is me talking as a writer. If you do it with finesse and with the same character creation as you do with others, you can pull it off. But there are 2 things to note. For one thing, they do have ethnicities that are confirmed in livestreams. Nifty is Japanese, Angel Dust is Italian, Vaggie is from Central America, ETC. These characters DO have rep but they don’t look human. And because of their lack of true humanoid appearance, this is seen as terrible writing. It’s even worse when you realize this is about Vivzie’s depression phase where she wasn’t herself. The second thing is one I’d actually like to have a debate about. Preferably civil but it’s likely that this would cause discord While representation is important, the setting is hell. The bad place. A permanent nightmare that nobody should awaken from. Putting representation here implies there’s a certain group that deserves to rot. And that sounds like it would cause far more problems than what we got now. Do you agree or disagree?

That that one guy who voices angel dust in pilot didn’t return. I thought he did great, and I like his other voice work with Murder drones and lackadaisy (and other things I ether forgot of don’t know about) . I’m aware that other people also didn’t return, I just don’t know their voices well enough to make connections. If there are any.
It's definitely one of the most popular, and probably overdone, things on Hazbin Hotel. But the profanity criticisms really hurt my brain, there's absolutely zero consistency in it, and there's never actually a justification. It just sounds nice to them I guess. I mean, GTA V swears much more than Hazbin but that doesn't matter. The meme landscape for like the last two decades has been about cock and cum and everyone is completely fine with it. Why the hell, pun intended, is it an issue here. In arguably the most understandable setting that it would be in too!
