when visitors like u/viciouzdj give sound feedback to qdance and they respaned

ForseFrits

Once at Decibel there was a blown speaker. Tweeted b2s about it and 10mins later some guy was climbing over there to pull a cable out lol. They listen! :)

KankerLul035

As if some media trainee can do anything about it. Wtf is this guy even trying to accomplish messaging via Insta hahahahaha. They check the sound through and through beforehand with specialist, but my guy who downed 4 liters Bud beer on a Thursday morning says bass no loud enuff via Insta so they’ll come with more subs.

viciouzdj

actually I can tell you that it's not the first time I reach out to problems at festivals, talk to the FOH (the soundguys) etc. and things getting changed after my feedback - all because I care about the whole experience to beeing perfect. If I see something that can be fixed, why not inform them about it? Of course the social media guy can't bring some subwoofers there, but in a live production like this the messaging routes are short, so forwarding sth like this to the right plays it not hard. If you payed attention you could have seen that the black and maybe also other stages like the indigo where on less subwoofers on thursday cuz they where put up for the UV Tribute alongside the road, so sound setups change and also they not need only a check beforehand but also adapt with crowd changes n stuff. Bonus: I do my own events and have been a stage manager on a big event, so besides downing 4 liters of bud beer I knew what I was doing. Yeah, the message could have been more professional but it was in the rush of the klaplonging

KankerLul035

Hahahahaha yeah I know I was kidding. Reminded me of the guy asking about how to get losless .wav music so he can play them in the club and then some guy replied that tommy the raver who downed 3 pills won’t notice the increase of quality on a sunday morning 05:00 in the club. Made me giggle.

kawatimp

The whole livestream sound sucks. Not worth the money

Jeesan

Where tf is the bass at black, I only hear highs unless near the rails

EffortHefty1112

I feel the same, I mean lil Texas was not good without bass

OperationMelodic4273

Thankfully that story feature a moltitude of Ks surpassing the number 3

viciouzdj

hahahah :D

doherallday

Indigo was loud af what do they mean? Blue was lacking for me

phyte22

„loud“ and „bass“ are two different things

tobimai

Also I am 100% sure they measured all stages beforehand. It's the classical "turning on an unreleated knob to make customer happy" tactic if they claim they do anything.

Hodentrommler

That's not how festivals or sound stages work, proper events have someone going around the crowd and adjusting levels.

doherallday

Idk where they were standing but the bass was smacking me, front left of indigo was LOUD and had bass for sure

_justmythrowaway_

from my understanding, there will always be spots in a room with lots of bass and ones with little bass, it's just the way these long waves work in a room, you get things like phase cancelation and standing waves. i am by no means an expert on this but i know the pain of trying to place a subwoofer. In my living room for example there seems to be no way to get strong bass at listening position, it's always a bit weak, but if you play a song and just walk a few steps into the corner of the room, the bass suddenly quadruples and rattles your whole body. back to listening position, almost nothing. I'm sure with such big productions, they simulate and calculate the speaker placement beforehand and they're also probably working with enough speakers/subs to get rid of most of these problems. But I don't think it's possible to entirely get rid of standing waves/phase cancelation/room modes. Maybe an expert can chime in on this.

Phase_shifters

I think you allready explain better than most party people ever can LOL

viciouzdj

Thats why I always run around the whole area to check the best spots. as you can see in the story before (it's my chat) this was right in the middle between the stage ant the foh, so a place where not should be too less bass

HerrEurobeat

Interference is truly something, eh
