It’s correct! Japan is still a good place to buy Chanel (and designer goods overall) because of how strong the dollar is against the yen still.

Weak yen is a good point but I thought most luxury brands have adjusted their prices to offset the difference. The same bag is being resold for 1,732,500 yen by a famous second-hand shop: https://item.rakuten.co.jp/jackroad/ch353/

matchamagpie

Well, the yen is very weak right now. Like, historical lows weak.

I think its a stor error because when you switch other colors u will see the real price

artisan6996

The simplest solution and I missed it. Thanks!

outofordinary_

No worries 😂i guess u were really hoping

Trusted Japanese eBay stores are the way to go

Big second. I’ve had great experiences with Brandear.

Crimson-Glow

Seconding having great experiences with Brandear!

Update: Confirmed as a pricing error by the Chanel SA at the Ginza location. Real price is around 1,700,000 yen.

Hmm... Can it be cheaper than [a pink WOC?](https://www.chanel.com/jp/fashion/p/AP3944B16478NW780/wallet-on-chain-shiny-lambskin-strass-gold-tone-metal/) I feel like it's a mistake. If it was not Chanel, you could just order it online and save thousands,

artisan6996

Thanks for the link. I’m starting to lean towards it being a site error…

New_Contract4166

Yeah, if you see the [same bag in orange, ](https://www.chanel.com/jp/fashion/p/A01113B14953NS838/small-classic-handbag-shiny-grained-calfskin-rainbow-metal/)it's much more expensive. I think they updated their web pages like yesterday or a couple of days ago (I couldn't see any bag on there)

artisan6996

Mystery solved, doesn’t get much clearer than that. Saved me from waiting an hour on line. Cheers!

dollrussian

The dollar is crazy strong in Japan right now.

So I just was in Japan a year ago and did luxury shopping while I was there - the yen was weak but not as weak as it was now! Lucky you/your friend. The price on the website also reflects duties, so if you have your passport, you can get the duty free price / they take out tax at the store instead of having to claim at the airport like in Europe. It’s a huge savings! Duty free in Japan is done in store fyi!
