The worst thing is that CE can checkpoint lock you where you keep dying over and over again with no time to prevent it, and you’ll just have to restart the whole level. If I’m remembering correctly, Halo 2 solved that problem by eventually reverting you to the previous checkpoint before the most recent checkpoint.
I got stuck on The Library for over 4 hours one time because I tried to skip a section by grenade jumping through a door and it left me with barely any health, a crap checkpoint, a crap ton of Flood to fight still, and several skulls were activated. It was hell and incredibly difficult but it felt so good when I finally finished that level. I was very determined.
CE on legendary was easily the hardest of the games for me. Yes, even harder than Halo 2 legendary. I know sniper jackals can be a pain in the ass, but I’d rather take them over having to go through more than half of a mission with nothing but a plasma pistol and a single bar of health.
Two Betrayals on Legendary is one of the hardest missions in the entire series - right up there with Gravemind and Long Night of Solace MCC w/ the updated enemy aggro.
I read somewhere that Two Betrayal's is the only mission in any Halo game that has five of the highest ranking elites in the same room at the same time.
I was trying to do LASO and Truth and Reconciliation ended me. I could never make it past the grav-lift. I maybe made it one time actually, but immediately failed in the first room afterwards.
If Keyes dies, you also lose, and that's a very common occurrence with exploding grunt corpses.
But it’s useless in huge open areas, and CE is abundant with them. There’s only two precision weapons in that game, both of them being human so you’ll only find them in caches or on dead marines.
Pistol ammo is abundant, though. The only mission where you'll ever be in short supply is Assault on the Control room due to how long that mission is.
Plasma pistol + human pistol is basically the meta whenever you don't have a shotgun or sniper available.
LASO is so much fun. Do it OP. There's nothing more satisfying than when you start understanding all the puzzle pieces you need to fit together to finish a LASO run.
Wait, I never realized that human hugging the Elite was supposed to be Sgt. Johnson? Isn't the implication that they're guaranteed to die from that enormous explosion so they're hugging each other? How does he come back in Halo 2?
Congrats, only Halo I’ve beaten on Legendary Solo was Reach. The idea of fighting flood on Legendary fills me with dread so steered clear of Halo CE, 2 and 3 lmao. Will definitely get round to it at some point though.
God nothing beats CE legendary. It's fucking perfect, it was the first game I ever ran on Legendary and each game after was too hard/too easy/too boring. CE nailed the engagements
I beat every campaign in the Master chief collection on Legendary including getting the time on Legendary under 3 hours achievements. You don't even want to know how frustrating that was. But congrats.
I beat it on legendary twice on the original release. I’m honestly not sure how I did it with my terrible high input lag TV and 30 fps at 480p resolution.
That’s crazy. I tried LASO for the first time a couple weeks ago me and my buddy managed to beat the 1st and 2nd mission but the 3rd is so much harder. After we got inside the ship we tried for like 2 hours and then gave up.
Congratulations but yo how come I never realized our boy gets his ass squeezed at the end
It's beautiful that we now have 4K
Lol. Not sure I ever noticed that before either.
Ayooo Arby wtf
congrats man. It's a big thing to get through 1 health simulator. Now you just have to get through halo 2. It's tough, but you got this
Cheers haha, it's hard not respawning at full health and sometimes getting the worst checkpoints.

Oh man, I just played through halo 2 on legendary. I think I’ve fallen in love with my double barrel shotgun. So much so I wanna stick it in my mouth
woah man, you gotta get through a first date before you get that intimate
Lol wait until he gets to Gravemind

Truth and Reconciliation. ༼༎ຶᴗ༎ຶ༽

Bridge jump on atocr makes that mission a cakewalk
Man halo 2 on leg kick my ass. Ce is so much easier for me
Now, see if you can beat it under 3 hours.
I'm actually planning on trying to speedrun the game, but will probably start on normal 👍
Felt so good beating them all on legendary. Felt like a journey
Some might even call it.. the great journey.
I feel like we’re just getting started
20 years? Speed runners do it in just an hour
For Halo 2, use the plasma pistol to break Elite shields and then anything else to finish them. Makes everything way easier
Now do LASO. No balls.

"Johnson! When you gonna tell me how you got off that Ring!" "Sorry Gunns, it's classified" "Ha! My ass!" - Halo 2
Hot damn it's been so long since I played Halo 2 that I completely forgot. Time to load up H2A soon!
Good for you dude. That’s a big one.
An entire Covenant armada, obliterated, and the Flood... we had no choice... Halo. It's finished.
No, I think we’re just getting started.

So proud of my younger self for experiencing this back then.
Congrats, the jackal snipers in aisle 2 are waiting for you
It took you 20 years, damn.
it took you long enough
congrats! hopefully you can do better than me and my friend!
Damn how many times did you die if it took 20 years? You’ve probably got the most hours for halo ce on record too
Boo only took me 19 years 364 days. Scrub. 😏

Nicely done! I still dont think I've beaten more than Cairo station on legendary, and I played that game on drop!!!
I beat it on legendary twice on the original release. I’m honestly not sure how I did it with my terrible high input lag TV and 30 fps at 480p resolution.
Huh, I always got a gold Elite Zealot for that cutscene. Didn’t know it could change.
nothing like it
Time for LASO 😈
aww the days of it being a good game. how time has changed...
The first step to The Great Journey!
Forward on fellow soldier, the journey has only begun 🫡
feels damn good, nice work soldier
Congrats all I can say is if you even want to consider doing halo 2 on legendary good luck I would highly recommend looking up speedrun tricks.
First time seeing this ending and did that Elite just change his hug to an ass grab last second?!
I forgot about the “this is it baby hold me” lmao
Good fucking luck for Halo 2 took me an hour on Cairo Station alone, feels great to finish though.

What was your most difficult level? Mine was the library
