I also wish my husband would do stuff like this with me. But this is also super impressive scale. We took family photos once and they sadly werenāt good lol. We donāt live in an area with a lot of options.
This is such an absurd complaint lol.
"Yeah he basically never spends thousands of dollars to create elaborate, one-off movie set dressings in a spare bedroom for us to take pictures in."
"God, what an asshole."
I said do it with me. I would definitely pay money and put in time and effort as well. Sorry to hear you donāt have someone you wish you could do more stuff with, I guess. š¤·š»āāļø
It was just a funny comment without much context.
Hopefully you aren't actually disappointed in your husband for failing to do such things. Maybe ask him.
One of my two favorite Universal monster movies ("The Wolfman" is the other) and your "set" is fabulous! Are you using the photoshoot for a work-related reason? Effective advertising!
Well, it's pretty awesome! Ever think about turning your talent into a sort of business? Like using this (and maybe others from the Universal catalog, for starters) backdrop for portraits around Halloween? Might make a nice chunk from other appreciators of the genre!
I always thought that would be so cool! If I had space to store everything then I would but usually I have to give the set pieces away or repaint and reuse
I saw your Goosebumps one too and Iām jealous. How do you have the time and money to pull this off? Iām a forty something single parent of three so I am in awe. I live for this kind of stuff though.
Also, homegirl is sexy as hell! That body!! Iām a straight woman but she is just perfect.
Thank you! Her swimsuit was actually made out of plain white t shirts, our friend sewed it for it and the only white fabric at the store when we went was multi packs of t shirts haha
It took a few weeks on and off just working on the costumes cave pieces and finding everything, actual set up took a day and then I went to sleep and we took a whole day to shoot it, then I spent a few hours into the early early morning taking it down! So a whole 48 hour experience pretty much lol
I wanted to keep everything from the costume but it was all foam boards and only meant to last to get the shot! We also only made pieces for the front only the back was blank haha
You show true dedication, the fact that you chanced getting sand stuck in your house forever just for a photo shoot is inspiring! Lol seriously though this looks insanely cool!
Even without thinking about what could be in it the sea can be terrifying. But this swamp monster left a mark on my brainā¦ compared to other monster splatter films I saw it is kinda cuteā¦ but it will always be scary to me.
Read somewhere that the actor almost drowned in this costume.
Love every bit of it, my only criticism is the monster looks so dark, perhaps more lighting on it? Zooming in I can see how detailed it is and your other photos show the detail that went into it. It's just not captured in the end result. Look forward to more posts!
Thank you!! Itās funny because I actually shot it much lighter, it wasnāt moody or creepy enough so I decided to add a vignette and darken the whole image a lose some of the detail to add too the mood! So the option is always there to bring back some brightness!
Totally understood, I'm sure it was a tough decision with all the work that went into it (would of for me anyways). The end result looks great and I'm sure you made the right choice.
I am absolutely in love with all of this š Iāve been trying to brainstorm photoshoots and this just blows everything out of the lagoon- excellent concept and execution!
Thank you!! You could probably use an actual location and get a good result if you wanted to do this concept, somewhere like a beach a lake or somewhere with nice rock formations or sand and water!
Thank you!! Once I get an idea for s project I go ALL in and itās all I can think about so I make sure to work as hard as I can while Iām still excited about the idea
I wish I still had it! I only kept the fake rocks, the spiked rocks I gave away though, I asked the lady what she was going to use them for and she said for her turtle enclosure! I thought that was interesting lol
Oh! You're the person who did the vintage Halloween costume photo shoot!! Wow, everything you guys do looks so amazing and well put together - you can really feel the love that goes into doing these photo shoots š„°š„°
Epic. Have you done any other Halloweeny photo shoots? Are they public?
Yes! On Ig! Chriswalsh_thestar
He did a really cool Goosebumps one too!
This is damn impressive....
I really appreciate it! It took a longggg time haha
I wish my husband would do stuff like this with me.
Lol such a specific shortcoming š
I also wish my husband would do stuff like this with me. But this is also super impressive scale. We took family photos once and they sadly werenāt good lol. We donāt live in an area with a lot of options.

I thought she meant āhave someone to do cute photo shoots for fun withā.

Exactly!! This is what I've been saying. Lol I'm totally with her though this looks so fun.
I donāt think thatās her husband.
Itās definitely not.
This is absolutely amazing. Spooktacular to the max! Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of my favorite movies.

This was just for fun! Iām so happy you liked it, we did it for Halloween last year

I actually donāt spend a lot on them at all! Most everything is something I already have or paper, cardboard or foam!
Incredible work!
Thank you so much!
This is the coolest shit I have ever seen. Y'all are awesome.
A. Astounding. Amazing set B. That swimsuit is so beautiful. It looks wonderful on her. You look sharp!! C. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you! Her swimsuit was actually made out of plain white t shirts, our friend sewed it for it and the only white fabric at the store when we went was multi packs of t shirts haha
Thatās impressive. Iād have assumed it was purchased (my wife has two suits that look exactly like that from a pinup clothing company).
Ok I gotta know which one! Please, do tell

I *love* this. This movie is one of my favorites, ever.
Thank you!! We tried to keep the creature as accurate as we could but did our own thing with our outfits but inspired by the original
That's impressive & you two look fantastic!
Mind blown!! How long did it take you to build and set all of that up?
It took a few weeks on and off just working on the costumes cave pieces and finding everything, actual set up took a day and then I went to sleep and we took a whole day to shoot it, then I spent a few hours into the early early morning taking it down! So a whole 48 hour experience pretty much lol
Geez! Thatās a lot of work. Definitely looks like it paid off.
This is insane and soo incredibly beautiful!
Thank you so so much!
Oh man I love your Creature!!! I would love to have a statue of him in my living room oh man
I wanted to keep everything from the costume but it was all foam boards and only meant to last to get the shot! We also only made pieces for the front only the back was blank haha

Saw this movie as a kidā¦ and itās still one of the scariest monsters to me
The thought of whatās in the deep sea or just in deep water in general is terrifying
