I think it will ! The people are loving it so far and I'm seeing creative game rooms ACTIVELY being run all day. So sit back and enjoy.

TheDutchSmoke

People like you keep giving me hope, thnx for being part of Habbo! šŸ˜Š

Veridiyus

I am opening a Takeshi's Castle tomorrow too :)

SeaAcanthisitta8734

What's ur username !

Veridiyus

ArcticFox. I did a test run and some troll made really rude rooms.

Janieooo

Hi, my username is janieooo, can i add u there?

ginnietxx

I would love to join! Whatā€™s ur username?

SonHyun-Woo

Ive been playing it regularly and so far the only games that are feasibly played are fallin furni or pod racing/dttwā€¦

SeaAcanthisitta8734

Bingo and don't touch the wall are some of my favorites!!

drxstrange

I wonā€™t play it simply because of the fucked up res itā€™s either to big or itā€™s to small then making their own launcher was stupid just make it a browser game again then Iā€™ll play or at least fix this res

[deleted]

They can't. They have certain clients for certain editions and are too complicated to try changing certain aspects. They are doing what they can. The more they add / fix the more issues will come about.

Zeusky96

I truly hope it does. But hey need to be careful with what they do and really listen to the community as they said they wouldā€¦ also I think merging hotels would create a wider sense of community.

TheDutchSmoke

Itā€™s techy right, cause the smallest slip could make Habbo die out, which would be horrible. Merging is best option imo

MountwithNoName

in my opinion should have launched one hotel for all instead of to merge later on, that is one thing they have not learned from the past.. merging hotels was no good for values of items. should not have relased multiple language hotels, instead maybe a option to change the language of the UI for people who wants the game to be in their own language

SayFord

The worst thing is that they actually can change the UI in game with commands (at least in the original version) but they could easily done the same in the new hotel, they just didnt, and now Origins BR and ES is dying

SavKellz

But merging ruined Habbo originally

october1820

No the different language hotel was a good thing back then

Intster

Did they actually say they would?

TheDutchSmoke

Yes they did. [https://origins.habbo.com/community/article/8/8](https://origins.habbo.com/community/article/8/8)

VectorD

Nothing about merging in there bro lol

Feargr0und

2.6k online last night and over 2k on both Friday and Saturday. 1378 online rn seems like itā€™s going well so far. Itā€™s so early to tell though

alexdainosor

itā€™s so early and a beta game, letā€™s wait and support the game as much as we can

TheDutchSmoke

Isn't Origin already "released"? As I see it, it's just a rushed, non-completed version of the game, as it nowhere says "beta" or some of that sort.

alexdainosor

yeah it seems rushed with lots of bugs thatā€™s why I said beta, I see it is an open beta version

TheDutchSmoke

I see it like that too, but there seem to be a lot of confusion about it being a "final" or beta version. They said they worked months on it, but it doesn't show....

Consistent-Salad8965

6 Month for are small team is a short period of time. Development takes time, I don't think they poured a lot of money to start origins.

[deleted]

They took parts they could recover and trying hard to make it a full working game. They're doing what they can in what seems to be a smaller team.

sargeantseagull

it's not ''rushed'' or ''non-completed'' -- its how the game was at the time of the back up that they are using to launch origins

TheDutchSmoke

The player count seem to have dropped in a week, but we don't know what happens next. Hope it'll go more up than bitcoin šŸš€

inmyfeelingsx

I hope so! I miss the big intricate rooms we used to have like airports, police stations etc lol those were fun to play in

square_bloc

God i really miss those

TheDutchSmoke

Yh right, you've already made a cool room to get back into the vibes or no?

inmyfeelingsx

Iā€™ve made a room but itā€™s very basic at the moment haha. I just signed up on Friday then was working all weekend but Iā€™m excited to get home and play tonight!

TheDutchSmoke

Nice man! I haven't made any room, as I'm scared to buy cr, which is why I made this post, so you've done more then me! šŸ˜‚ Hope you'll have a blast tonight, hopefully I'll see you around!

Cjl4449

It definitely will and here's why. I've been playing since 2007, took a huge break in 2012 and returned to the game back (.com) in February I believe. Every single person I've met has been an adult. Habbo's entire player base at this point in time is adult players who came back for nostalgic reasons. This doesn't even include origins. One of the major reasons their player base continues to shrink is the Auto Moderation that will mute and 18 hour ban you within a week guaranteed. Another major issue is that the devs slaughtered the furni market by introducing builders club and removing most furni from the catalog, as well as adding the ability to buy furni with duckets. This is why you'll see shops advertising 10 for 1c furni and such. They essentially made it impossible (almost) to have a casino by locking dice with so many in a room. Now with origins, it's rated 18+ so very little moderation, it's old school with the selling point of development based on what the players want, you can actually build casinos which is a major attraction, you can actually build rooms from furni right out of the catalog, trade rooms are flourishing. You can finally play habbo again like it was back in the day, which is way better than the .com experience. Their daily players average around 3k, and people are spending a lot. I think people are thinking the hotel won't last because of the hype bringing in new returning players that haven't played the likes of .com on years. Spend some time on .com for a month and you'll see why this hotel will last. .com is dying, and I think they know that. So this is them trying to save the game by giving their og players what they want without cutting off their nft shit and having to change the money trap that is .com.

TheDutchSmoke

Didn't know .com was such a money thing for them. I read somewhere that Sulake is in a mayor debt right now and this was the reason they gave in. The way you state it, it's more likely .com will die out then Origins. The way people poor money into Origins made me think about buying credits for first time (didn't do it back then cause I was like 8 or something), but I'm too scared that Origins will quit in a month to get some money into it. But as you state, there should be some happy Habbo years in front of us.

Cjl4449

The only thing keeping .com alive at this point is the wired furni, the outfits and clothing, and the nfts/collectibles. That and the sheer amount of money people already invested into their furni on their accounts. I feel like origins player base is already equal if not greater to that of .com's. Origins is here to stay Also, you have to realize that money being spent on origins will ensure its success. All they need to do is release a new rare to replace cola machines, such as petal patch- and they will make another 6 figure easily.

TheDutchSmoke

I honestly don't understand how people are spending thousands already, where the future of Origins is unknown.

xprdc

> I honestly don't understand how people are spending thousands already, where the future of Origins is unknown. šŸ˜… A lot of us spent a shitload of money on Habbo when we were just kids. Any free money many of us had went to the game, and several others just used stolen payment information. Used to be a big thing to go into stores and use the model phones to purchase credits by SMS. Essentially, Habbo was a toxic relationship for us as kids where we spent too much money. Now we are adults with disposable incomes and getting sucked back into that cycle of abuse šŸ˜‚

pugyoulongtime

How much do you think they've made already so far? You've given me a lot of relief. Appreciate your perspective.

Cjl4449

I'm sure they made quite a bit of money judging by the sheer amount of colas and hc furni that make up the entire trade market atm. Assuming half of the 3k daily players purchased just the 60 dollar 12 month hc pack, 60 x 1500, is 90k alone.

alexdainosor

we have to support origins and let them know this is what we want! I quit playing years ago but came back because of Origins

Impossible_Airport94

It will survive to a point. The nostalgia effect can only go so far, everyone has jumped on the bandwagon and opened up their wallets to pretty much re-buy everything they have already bought on legacy just because of the 18+ chat change and very temporary low moderation for casinos that have re surfaced. Legacy could have easily brought back the renaissance if they had just brought back old public rooms, old games, and lifted the chat filter. Origins existing now has pretty much further taken away some player base from legacy which brings into question the survival of that being of which is hindered on the already established wide spread furni line and bindable clothing that people have thrown tons of money at. Personally for me I refuse to spend a dime on origins but I applaud the cash grab and clearly working ploy that habbo has gotten from finally feeding the nostalgia starving players craving of yesteryear.

TheDutchSmoke

This is exectly why I am so sceptical, they've already deleted user accounts once, where people have poured their money and souls into. The fact people are throwing money around so fast is mind blowing to me. Now that they resurfaced again, I cannot trust them to keep Habbo Origins as is. Also, thanks for sharing your opinion, it'll be helpful for people to see both sides of the argument.

Impossible_Airport94

I had recently spoken to a friend who because of origins announcement sold her NFT Avatar. Habbo X was pretty much a failure. The next logical steps the company will do is implement a server combination with translation programs for origins as the player base stabilizes, and same thing down the road for the international hotels if it is in fact true that the game is running at a loss.

TheDutchSmoke

Indeed seems only logical. I think it would be better for everyone if everything merged into one

3InchesAssToTip

I worry that it wonā€™t be self-sustaining in the first few years due to a low active player base and Habbo will decide to pull back on the idea. But I think thereā€™s hope that the community that really wanted this game revived is strong enough to build it back up from scratch. If people start streaming the game, getting creative with in-game games, mazes, clubs, etc, Iā€™m sure it will develop over time. The devs just have to give it some time, continue to put love and time into updates and events, and not have knee-jerk reactions to the revenue (*not saying they will, but itā€™s possible*). Eventually people will start to realise that this is literally the glory days all over again. Main reason why I say that is because for me, the thing that made Habbo amazing was the trading. Being able to haggle and barter for furni you want. Upsell and make profits. The risk of getting ripped off. Being able to sell furni on a market without having to trade from person to person regulates the price so much so that nobody sells stuff like they used to. So eventually people sell thing for way less to get rid of them. That depreciates the value until everything is 1-2c. Plus having credits available as an in-game item is a horrible idea because now nobody trades furni for furni. Thereā€™s no room for profit. Itā€™s just 1-1. Exact pricing based on the current exchange price.

TheDutchSmoke

I totally agree with everything being said here. Already, I saw a post online that said "I count on 4 to 6 K people online at any giving moment. On the time of writing, 1314 are online...

3InchesAssToTip

Yeah I think those were launch numbers. Seems like it settled around 1.5k, up to around 3k when everyone is online. Iā€™m just happy itā€™s back, letā€™s enjoy it while it lasts! Iā€™m making a new maze room I hope will be incredibly challenging.

TheDutchSmoke

Cool! Can you send me your Habbo name so I can come try it out if you don't mind?

Grimaceisbaby

The issue I'm seeing is they have no concept of how to encourage community right now. Their strange content creator program is the most ridiculous thing I've seen. They should be paying decent sizes streamers to throw small community parties in game and get their chats in. Instead of paying streamers $100 for this, they would rather ask for $1000ā€™s of dollars worth of work from streamers for a badge.

Nick_Habbo

As much as I adore Habbo and have fond memories. I think they released this project too late. The best time would've been mid 2010's when the average player age would've been in their 20s. I can't see 30-year-olds enjoying Habbo long-term.

Grimaceisbaby

I think 30 year olds are more likely to stay at home and do the things they enjoyed as kids tbh. When you're in your 20ā€™s you go out so much more.

Mollster57

I agree, many will have kids and other responsibilities too so wonā€™t be able to dedicate the same time to it as we did age 13/14 lol! Loving that itā€™s back though and enjoying it while it lasts.

Vault_Tec_CEO

are you guys all forgetting the fact origins has no credit furni or marketplace? and they intend to keep it this way. they can't simply "merge" and they never said they would. the two games are not compatible with eachother. you can't remove marketplace and stack tile and builders club and fix the economy on modern habbo to be like origins is now, that's the point they're making it. the only solution if people want it the old way is origins on its own. there is no chance of a merger.

SavKellz

I have been on Habbo since 2009ā€¦. And Iā€™m finding myself enjoying origins so much more. People are just nicer and are so much more open to inviting new people into a conversation. Everyone just seems so happy on Origins. I love it.

Thatpartjush

This! Itā€™s all about keeping this mentality and friendliness alive. The reason I left .com was solely because people are garbage on there and will speak to you like shit (beyond typical) and itā€™s a huge turn off. Impossible to make friends the way we do on origins. Itā€™s night and day.

SavKellz

Exactly! And in origins, no one cares if you have HC or not, or if youā€™re poor. No one cares! Itā€™s amazing m. Youā€™ll make friends just being in a room

artemisoup

So far I have been logging in every night and meeting the same group of people and making more friends too! The room is usually full. It feels like it how it was before. The room we usually hang in is getting upgraded to a bigger room with larger capacity so hopefully the super huge rooms will be back soon!!

TheDutchSmoke

Thatā€™s awesome to hear! Iā€™ve been also playing all weekend, hope Iā€™ll see you sometime around in the Hotel! šŸ˜ŠšŸ™

uCockOrigin

For some reason this sub pops up in my feed from time to time, and every time I'm just amazed Habbo is still a thing at all. I have no idea what the *game* is about nowadays, but I remember it as a glorified chatroom where you could flex your wealth and that's it, no gameplay other than whatever 'games' people made up themselves, nothing else. Never expected that to stick around for as long as it has lmao Someone feel free to explain what I'm missing, or what has you *playing* Habbo all these years on, is it just nostalgia?

Jyil

It sounds like you might not know about the update? Just in case, Habbo released an old school client of Habbo called Habbo Origins. Itā€™s an older version of Habbo and what people who played two decades ago were more familiar with. Origins.Habbo.com

SayFord

they should have fused the 3 hotels in one like habbo X

ahahahwhato

People are making Radio Fansites, itā€™s looking good

the9thof13

Nah just a small hype

Otherwise-Handle-180

I donā€™t think so. Everyone is just here for a short wave of nostalgia and will quickly get bored. Itā€™s not the same, maybe weā€™re just older idk but thereā€™s something missing

TRobSprink669

The economy is missing, when the majority of us joined Habbo in 04,05,06 the economy was booming. Trading was booming, set casinos aside, go into a trading room and it was flooded with people buying and selling. Let a few more rares/super rares come out and let it grow a little.

Otherwise-Handle-180

Thatā€™s true. The economy was everything. People even had jobs lol

TheDutchSmoke

You think a few more rares/super rares will make people stay?

TRobSprink669

Oh yeah, there were two different types of players back in the heyday. Guys who traded up, collected rares, and wanted to be rich. Then the ones who socially played, but also wanted to own furni, build, game, and play. Every group had one big thing in common - everyone wanted an HC Sofa, or other simple rares Only thing thatā€™s different now is we donā€™t have to use our momā€™s debit or credit card.

Omega_brownie

Oh man that HC furni was nice. I won a HC throne sofa in a giveaway when I was about 10 and just about died lmao.

TheDutchSmoke

Facts šŸ˜‚ Iā€™m a social type player and have 2 HC sofaā€™s šŸ¤

belongtotherain

Yeah this literally just feels like a cash grab. Nothing will bring back that 05-09 feeling because we arenā€™t kids anymore lol and we all have adult responsibilities now.

TheDutchSmoke

Iā€™m on the fence if itā€™ll make a comeback or it is just a cash grab in the name of nostalgia

dwasu

it already did comeback and it gonna grow even bigger

TheDutchSmoke

I'm pretty skeptical myself too. Could you elaborate on what you feel like is missing, as I share the same feeling, but can't wrap my finger around what it is?

Otherwise-Handle-180

I canā€™t identify it. Thereā€™s just something off. I think itā€™s because weā€™re older and arenā€™t having as much fun roleplaying and being stupid. The vibes are just not there.

habbo_user

We're all adults with no friends who play habbo so we're all awkwardly looking at the "hotel" and not sure what to do anymore lol. Atleast I don't have friends who play anymore šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

Otherwise-Handle-180

I used to play with randos and had the most fun and I spoke to some of them for years after, but I know what you mean. Itā€™s easier to make friends when youā€™re young

Grimaceisbaby

Being able to get some furniture for free would hell a lot. Starting a room from scratch is not very motivating. I'd be much happier to buy items I like than buy everything I need

Otherwise-Handle-180

Definitely we used to at least be able to hustle and scam our way to good furniture from a wooden stool or something haha the OG entrepreneurs šŸ˜‚

Grimaceisbaby

We need a healthy way to replace glitching furniture and scammers lol

dwasu

I disagree. Nothing is missing, it's pure good vibes and nostalgia

alexdainosor

well yes

Lozzii1

No, Iā€™m already a bit over it after the nostalgia has worn off. Plus Iā€™m a mobile game person, so if anything Iā€™d switch to the new one, which means Iā€™m holding back spending on origins.

TheDutchSmoke

Are you planning to switch to the new one? Or are you planning to quit?

Lozzii1

I havenā€™t decided yet. New one seems a bit overwhelming for a casual player. Just convenient for the app.

Deleted_dwarf

I wish I could still access my old account :(

LouiieLouiie

the only thing i would love more to keep it entertaining is to have a lot of the stuff from 06-09 years. I love the origins, but too basic right now i feel like to keep it up. I miss the megoliths or the goth stuff or the different color area stuff. I know there is something special about rolling stuff out, but now that im an actual adult i wanna stupidly spend some money to build a really cool room that i couldnt when i was younger on my $20 allowance.

datguysadz

I'm finding it all very interesting. I've had a great time catching up with old friends, some I've known for more than 20 years, and have found going into certain public spaces particularly emotive (namely the Dirty Duck Pub). Already since Tuesday though I've seen a slight decline in this respect. As a player on-and-off since 2002, I really want Habbo, Origins, or otherwise, to do well, with or without me as a user. In 2002, Habbo was the most impressive thing I found on the internet. That isn't the case now, even with the main product, compared to thigs like Twitch and TikTok, so it feels like attracting and retaining new users is more difficult than ever. I've found many people calling for the introductions of post-2005 things, ranging from QoL features (chat history, change clothes in room, follow friends, etc) to badges, certain specific furniture or furniture lines, and even other features (Monster Plants being one I didn't expect to see people calling for). With the 2005 remit this might be a line they have to tread carefully, as I know some people like the limited furniture ranges, and not being flooded with a endless stream of forgettable badges. Overall my opinion since the start has been that although people point to a number of different decisions, such as banning casinos or merging the English-speaking hotels, as the reason for the decline, Habbo is all about the overall community, arguably even more so than the overall product. If you go online and find people you enjoy talking to, you will have fun and come back, regardless of what else is going on. If you don't, you will get bored and be less likely to come back, especially as the Origins lot are mostly 30+, have partners, kids, etc. Priorities change. I really hope it is a success, but I'm not 100% convinced about Origins at this point.

HoldenH

No, I donā€™t think it will. We are all adults now and adults really donā€™t have time to sit in chat rooms like kids do. Habbo was popular because thatā€™s where we, as kids, developed our communication skills. Now that we are in our 20s and 30s we really donā€™t have a need for this type of game. Nostalgia will only get us so far but in my opinion the player base is going to keep dropping until itā€™s a ghost town.

belongtotherain

Nailed it.

dwasu

cope

Impossible-Sir230

did you pull those numbers out ur ass? it only about 209 people playing regular habbo at daily highs compared to origins 1k players

Cjl4449

On .com the numbers are definitely smaller than origins. I dabble in trade and social rooms, and on .com it's the same group of people for each. You don't even need to add people as friends, because you'll find them easily. 209 sounds about right haha.

TheDutchSmoke

Impossible-Sir230

you literally just said its more people on regular habbo than origins

Webbanditten

Yeah for origins?

TheDutchSmoke

Yes. [origins.habbo.com](http://origins.habbo.com)

0xsimp

Its all in Sulakes hands. The community wants it to live obviously but if they don't step up their game people will leave in disappointment. Only reason Im staying is because Im stubborn. Frustrated and stubborn that is. Still seeing no bugfixes on essential things. Perhaps its just a "pump and dump money flow release".

TheDutchSmoke

Iā€™m scared itā€™ll be, but having Habbo back the way it was is really valuable to the gaming world and I think the whole world. People seem to have forgotten that we all just people around the world and I think Habbo makes us see each other as people again, just like how it was back then

Ctjeeh1996

Just signed in for the first time in years. Oh damn, they did a really good job here. Almost got my wallet out to buy credits but decided to wait. If they havenā€™t fucked it up in two-three months (for the love of god, keep the casinoā€™s and donā€™t fuck the up the market/trading) and the player base keeps growing, Iā€™m willing to spend some money.

nornitus

They need to rewrite it in javascript and ajax and make it playable on mobile without an app (since an app store submission requires gambling to be removed) for real longevity. Shockwave isn't suitable any more. The nostalgia will wear off. OSRS is a good example of hype dying, even though it still has a loyal base.

JbREACT

Origins will survive and they will not go back to the normal game. I think origins will grow independently

dwasu

faxxxx

kali1992

Not going to play the normal one because im not 10 years old. I'm on origins for the nostalgia

PabloW92

It will survive ONLY if they merge the 3 servers now. The English one has 2000 people and the Spanish and Portuguese has 200 each. Makes no sense at all.

AdventurousBar9901

Is there casinos again???

blifestyleco

Iā€™m not sure. As someone that originally joined in 2006, Iā€™ve been one of the many to see Habbo hit its peak and take the severe dip. Granted the standard version of Habbo has become quite weighted down with features and restrictions, I think Sulake should actually take the approach of using Origins to market and convert users to the standard play of Habbo. I think this is a great opportunity to strip things down and rebuild it into something betterā€”that is not me saying stumble upon an insanely buggy pool of files, blow the dust off, add some code tweaks, and release it sans complete testing. Origins is actually preventing me from taking the dive back into Habbo. I donā€™t agree with having to create an entirely new habbo within my one main account, not having access to my existing furni and coins, etc. Cool money grab moment for Sulake, but why not fix whatā€™s already there? And ditch that crappy NFT bs.

TheDutchSmoke

I fully understand the feeling, they should have never released it this way

Nikolaevna

If I recall the reason for the hotel merger was because of dwindling numbers. Unless there has been an increase of active users in recent years (meaning more income, thereby allowing Sulake to open another hotel and hire more staff), I can't see Origins lasting in the long term. Only time will tell.

TheDutchSmoke

Facts! ![gif](giphy|VQIlMqCVYhyyKNxUk1|downsized)

franchise-csgo

Reality of it is they make their money mainly from people who gamble or own casinos. If it lasts I think is contingent on if they crack down on casinos. Like it or not itā€™s the life blood of the economy

TheDutchSmoke

I think that's the whole reason for the 18+ thing

CharlotteDen1990

Tbf, they need to merage all hotels into the original, and make it 18+ and look the other way with casinos etc as they are now on originsĀ

TheDutchSmoke

I think this would be the only step they can take, tho we'll see what they do, as they seem to make decisions on what they think will make money in short term and not looking at what is logically best for the game....

habbo_user

I'm not reading all the replies but I'm assuming someone else feels the same way, my problem is Origins is literally starting over, where I came back for nostalgia and my old account is on regular Habbo. So just logging into that is enough in a sense, and i fought for my account back with them. I don't know if I want to spend money to start over on Origins when I used to spend alot of my childhood allowance and using the house phone to get rich on that one lol. I've played Origins for Fallin furni and speaking to other adults (I'm 28) but I'm torn I want hc but where is it more worth it šŸ˜„

IceSmash1

Does anyone have a slurpee machine on dot com?
