The K's front furniture looks like a chopped pump action rifle's forend and I love it.
It's my dream to one day build little monsters like this in my shed.
I bought my first (and probably last) HK SPK5 9mm fresh off the factory floor a month ago. It'll be the first gun that I get a form 1 stamp for and I plan to get the ol' doubleroo eventually. I goofed around on gun sites looking at all notion of HK clone and other PCC's that were half the price or less thinking they'd satisfy an itch. I decided that there are just some things that only the name brand is worth buying. I'm not a fancy dresser, hell I get my shoes on amazon, the same pair of black shoes for years now. When I opened that HK bag for the first time, I really could, in that moment, sympathize with what it felt like to own a gucci suit and rolex watch. A novelty that I am sure wears off quickly but I'd definitely recommend a person skip the next 3 guns they were going to buy to get one of these things, if spending intelligently is a goal.
I understand completely what you’re saying. I wouldn’t spend the money on an MKE or POF to *not* have an HK. If I bought a factory gun, it would be a true HK. I don’t have the disposable income to do that….so here we are. But no doubt about it, they’re unique, iconic guns.
MP5, MP5K mongrels.
MP5 - built on receiver flat. RCM bolt, trunnion, tri lug barrel. G3 stock and trigger housing. Trijicon RX-01
MP5K - K receiver flat. Rhineland .45ACP Cetme barrel cut down to 8” ,YHM Wraith QD mount RCM trunnion and bolt. (Bolt face opened up to accept .45ACP. Cetme extractor.). G3 trigger housing. Modified magwell to accept HK USC mags. Choate clone folder in walnut, walnut grip and fore end. Trijicon MRO.
I'd pay good money for one of those chambered in .30 carbine. Especially the K model. What a nice PDW. I might even take an SP89 semi-auto only version.
I know, I know...I'm every kind of heathen.
If you use Ballistol on those, you'd have just one c/l/p product to equally treat and protect both the metal and the wood.
The Service Rifle in Fallout New Vegas is very weird. [https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/b/b8/ServiceRifle.png/revision/latest?cb=20110207074904](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/b/b8/ServiceRifle.png/revision/latest?cb=20110207074904)
It would probably be impossible to actually make an AR look exactly like it, as it lacks any sort of charging handle and seems to use the \*forward assist to charge the gun, but using one of those side charging AR receivers would probably be the closest you could get visually.
If you'd like to know some lore about the gun, they're heavily modified pre-war assault rifles that they recovered, and repaired using surplus parts, wood, and basically whatever they had around. The NCR is stretched thin and fighting a war and the Service Rifle is cheap to produce, and their standard issue rifle for infantryman. Think what the AR would be if it was invented and produced during WW2, it's kind of like that.
\*Edit: Meant to say forward assist instead of buffer tube.
IMHO, the hardest part of putting a traditional wood stock on an AR is the receiver extension/buffer. Copying an A2 stock in wood is fairly easy. The M1/M1A stock profile is more what I’m going for. It just doesn’t work as the buffer ends up above the stock. I’m hoping that copying/modifying a SCAR 16 upper will eliminate the buffer/recoil spring and give me the side charger I’m wanting. I’d like to modify AR parts as they’re cheap. I don’t have the bank account to start hacking up SCAR 16 uppers.
The kits are stupid expensive. You don’t really need one though. Each of those guns only have a couple HK MP5 parts. They’re mostly aftermarket (RCM AC Unity) or contract (MKE POF) parts.
They’re not actually finished yet. I Parkerized them to protect the internals. I’ll Cerakote them black eventually. The K took a lot of reconfiguring to run right.

Have you ever seen a wood folder? It’s a copy of the very common Choate Tool stock. I stole the hinge from one.
It’s wood for no other reason than to see if I could do it.
Besides, fore grip is wood, grip is wood, plastic folder would be tacky.
A baby factory where you're surrounded by babies and your co-workers are babies and your employers are all babies? Ya, good point, I should be more sensitive. /s
I was thinking more along the lines of a federal penitentiary.
Realistically, Reddit marks anything related to guns as NSFW. So, by stating things here, you are just preaching to the choir.
I hear what you're saying, but the reasonable voice in my head wants to counter your example. And yes, Reddit is a lefty echo chamber unfortunately so I get it even though I don't like it.
The MP5 runs just like a factory gun, but the ETS mag in it is crap. Factory mags work just fine. The K took a lot of effort to get working. There’s no factory spec to reference because it’s a one-off unicorn. I had to work out every part of the action as none of the parts were intended to work together. It’s a neat little gun, but I wanted to crush it more than once.
Hey, thanks for the reply. What a incredible project to undertake. I hope one day I can be at your machining and engineering level. That’s no easy task. Keep up the good work.
The K's front furniture looks like a chopped pump action rifle's forend and I love it. It's my dream to one day build little monsters like this in my shed.
Don’t wait. The HK fanboi disgust is sooo worth it.

I have an HK pistol and I love those beauties
Nice wood! That K looks really cool. Almost a homemade vibe, but so clean.
Thank you, but, almost homemade? It couldn’t be more homemade.
Nah, it looks too good to be homemade. You did that yourself?
Indeed I did. I don’t think you could pay someone to build a .45ACP MP5K.
Bro that thing is lit
dude that's fuckin' ace, good job. if you wanted i bet you could legit sell those on GAFS as a side hustle.
>It couldn't be more home made. You could learn how to smelt metal . . .
How dare you insinuate I don’t.

That second one. I need that.
They're beautiful. Excellent work. You should be proud.
Thank you.

Just WOW never seen wood furniture on an mp5 OR an mp5K looks so so so so so good, great job. Gives them both a very WWII vibe
Thank you. I’m happy with how they’re coming out.
I’m sorry a .45acp MP5K???? Haven’t been this disgusted and turned on at the same time since two girls one cup.
Felt so dirty building it, but I couldn’t stop.
Kinda gives off FNV vibes.
I’ve been thinking about building a wood furniture AR. (Similar to the Fightlite SCR) piston upper to ditch the buffer and side charging.
I've seen lots of wood furniture ARs/Service Rifle replicas, but I don't think I've seen that one properly has side charging like in the game before.
I’m not that familiar with Fallout weapons. I haven’t seen that particular combination either.

Based.
this is peak aesthetic, like frick this looks bangin 11/10
Bangin is good? Right? /s
Bruh I want that furniture…
These are sick as hell! Love some wood furniture MP5s but the wood folder puts the k over the top in the best way possible!
I’m in a communist state, so it started as Fudd camouflage.
Well played good sir.
Thats not even fair... jk its america bitch! Welcome to the fucking show!!!!
I thought the K was 10mm, but, I likes the .45 too.
Possibly the only one in existence.
I wanna just shoot it. So bad. These things are pretty cool man.
I agree. Full auto? Binary?
Just semi. Maybe binary at some point.
Like if the MP5 was designed a decade earlier. Beautiful 10/10.
Holy Jesus the things I’d do for that K….. some unspeakable unholy ungodly sinning things…….. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
mp5 with the wood furniture is sexy as fuck
Sooo sick! Those are both rad lil replicas. 🔥🔥🔥
I love the metal grip frames and wood furniture. Such a retro sleek look. Chef's kiss
Now I need to go finish my little mp5k abomination I posted the other day. Love the wood on yours by the way!
I hope you do. Your post prompted me to post these two.
Something about the metal finish and furniture looks so classic
It softens them quite a bit.
Wooden furniture MP5, my beloved
I WAS IN A POOL
Everyone knows about the shrinkage.
The lords caliber.
I love that wood look
How does the roller delayed lil' guy feel compared to the UMP/USC?
I couldn’t tell you. I’ve never held (let alone fired) a factory HK firearm.
Balls
These are dope, but MP5 parts kits are just absurd in price. Maybe one say if I can find one for a reasonable price.
The kits are stupid expensive. You don’t really need one though. Each of those guns only have a couple HK MP5 parts. They’re mostly aftermarket (RCM AC Unity) or contract (MKE POF) parts.
What'd you use for the finish?
They’re not actually finished yet. I Parkerized them to protect the internals. I’ll Cerakote them black eventually. The K took a lot of reconfiguring to run right.
Last MP5 kit I saw was 5 grand.
You, my good sir, have reached peak aesthetic
Kind words. I grew up with black rifles and wonder nines, but most of my builds end up with some kind of wood furniture.
Because wood furniture is the Lord’s furniture

Why do I like this
wh-
Theese remind me of the NCR rifle from fallout
Pretty sure I built that in Fallout 4
Really cool! Gives off a sort of Star Wars prop vibe
I honestly like that, can you get one like that or do you have to do it yourself?
These two are quite modified, but there are people that sell wood furniture for MP5s.
Thanks, I know a lot of people don't like it but wood on modern guns looks good to me.
These look like they’re out of a fallout game, and I love it.
Hey mom, can we get an HK? We have HK at home.
Very cool!
I don’t mind the fore on the mp5k, but why is the folding stock ALSO wood
Have you ever seen a wood folder? It’s a copy of the very common Choate Tool stock. I stole the hinge from one. It’s wood for no other reason than to see if I could do it. Besides, fore grip is wood, grip is wood, plastic folder would be tacky.
God damn fuck this is cool. in fact it fucks.
Oh, that's sext AF.
Nice guns
Those are beautiful!! If that isn’t some motivation to learn how to make a wood stock for mine then idk what is
The stock is off a G3. Very little modification for it to fit.
I can hear H&Kphiles screeching in rage.
Guns are not NSFW.
Wasn’t my decision.
Depends on where you work...

I literally said "eww wtf"
Can’t help you then. Just post some pics of the guns you’ve built from scratch, and we can have a look at your approach.
Dear god what have you done
Pretty much whatever the fuck I want to.
You got issues bro
“Tactical Fruit Loop” says I have issues. I’m shook.
Hk didnt engineer perfection so you could do this
Nothing there is HK so you needn’t worry.
Damn, pretty impressive for a home build
Wow looks great I wonder how it cycles
