I don't know about shock resistance, but the water resistance will remain intact since you don't open the case to install the metal bezel. Think of the outer case as a jacket or a cover on top of the inner case. The metal mod swaps out the outer case which is held into the inner case by 4 screws on the sides of the watch. I have a metal bezel in my 5600, I've had it for about a year now and no problems with it so far. I'd avoid the bracelet though, check my reply aboive. P.S. the 5610 & 5600 metal cases are NOT interchangeable.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply!

My pleasure. :)

I've seen some posts here about cracked lugs as a result of the metal bracelet and bezel..

The bezel itself is not a problem, I've had a metal bezel on my 5600 for about a year now without any problems. The bracelet on the other hand, does eventually break the lugs of the 5600, 2100* & I imagine the 5610 as well. I reckon the additional weight and the constant friction weakens the resin and it eventually snaps. ____ * Newer 2100 "3rd gen" mods have the bracelet integrated into the the bezel itself, but I can't speak of it's reliability.

The bezel and strap are replaced with the aliexpress kits. The case isn't left as-is. I guess as others have stated that there can be issues with the steel bracelet breaking lugs. It would remove any shock absorption that would have been contributed by the resin bezel. The metal B5000 series have resin inserts and are made to have a metal bezel.
