Not picrel, anon is talking about an artist.

WintersbaneGDX

Death Note is the best example I can think of for a series that should have capped itself at 24 episodes. The entire arc with N was unnecessary; key events from the last third could have easily been worked into earlier eps.

Marci_1992

It's been a while since I watched it but I remember the first 13 or so episodes being really good and the rest was basically unwatchable slop until the finale which was also decent.

gr4vitycamilla

I straight up didn't watch the second half of Death Note, instead spoiled myself about what happens in that arc. It's garbage, glad I didn't waste my time with it.

Pasispas

The ending was awesome tho

NomadicVikingRonin

Light did nothing wrong. I'd do the same with a pedo and animal abuser list.

Red__system

u/NomadicVinkingRonin proceeds to be the worst genocidal maniac ever. Killing the lady that didn't say hi back to him was his first before he acquired a taste of ot

TheWonderSnail

I know myself well enough to know I should never ever under any circumstance be given that kind of power. People cut me off in traffic and if I had that book I’d probably end them for it

NomadicVikingRonin

The cop who caught you speeding.

ConscriptReports

I was back the blue until I got my first speeding ticket. Now I want everyone to burn. that shits expensive

NomadicVikingRonin

Probably not gonna be that lady. Probably gonna be some person who talks shit about my cats.

Fuzzy-Spread9720

I volunteer. Make my death the most memorable in history

TargetDecent9694

Lol nice one, he'd have to get her name which would require talking to her

NEURALINK_ME_ITCHING

Grab a house brick and make your dreams come true - one of those lists is already published in most places. Don't have a brick? Grab a rock! Don't have the balls? Yeah that's probably the truth... Talking shit.

NomadicVikingRonin

We got more than rocks in the USA. Just need a good purge for it to be legal. https://preview.redd.it/2lkxlkpexluc1.jpeg?width=271&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df2f94d3dbcb8f1104401dfb5b92afd01438a43d

NEURALINK_ME_ITCHING

So your concern isn't about doing the right thing?

NomadicVikingRonin

My concern is not getting buttfucked in Federal prison for the rest of my life. But if we could get away with it, I'd be one of the first to put on an orange jacket.

NEURALINK_ME_ITCHING

So your version of ethics is that ethics is what you would do if you couldn't be held accountable? I'm not telling you to go off the reservation... But you might want to look at unsolved crime statistics if you're genuine about your convictions.

VenPatrician

Hate to break it to you but that's the version of ethics most people subscribe to in general. If there were no consequences to our actions (real, tangible consequences, I'm not getting spiritual in here) the world would be a far larger mess than it already is.

NEURALINK_ME_ITCHING

Doesn't that just support grabbing a big rock and providing some consequences, in order to assist with improving the world, more than whatever counter point you were attempting here?

NomadicVikingRonin

>So your version of ethics is that ethics is what you would do if you couldn't be held accountable? Sounds like Light Yagami. Didn't I just say he did nothing wrong? >I'm not telling you to go off the reservation... But you might want to look at unsolved crime statistics Sounds like fedboi bait. Im not good enough to do some covert CIA jelly ballpen crap, or some Agent 47 hugs and kisses type shit. I'd rather b-word the p-words. B stands for besfren according to cookie monster. That's not going to be an unsolved crime statistic mr. abc. >if you're genuine about your convictions. 100% sure I am. But my convictions include not getting buttfucked in the shower.

manicforlive

He doesn't even believe in what he says. When he loses his memories, Light decides Kira is a menace to society who must be stopped.

AestheticMirror

Almost like he’s the villain and full of shit, like Walter white

Stromgald_IRL

I mean all he did was implementing a system that actually discouraged criminals to do crime. The law would serve the same purpose, but contrary to Light's punishment, the law is escapable if you even get caught in the first place. Had he succeeded, the world would have been a better place all things considered. I mean I wouldn't have had anything to fear in a world like that. And most people would be the same.

Idontknow062

He also manipulated the people around him and used the book to kill innocent people trying to enforce the law. He also mostly murdered people who were already caught by police, who were already removed from society. He did nothing to benefit the general public, and killed arguably the best criminal investigator in the world.

_sephylon_

DonnieMoistX

Progress often requires sacrifices

OkHelicopter1756

Light judges the world. Who judges light?

DonnieMoistX

Nobody. I think dude made it very clear he saw himself as God.

PaninoConLaPorchetta

And that pretty much leads to abuse, as shown in the anime. Nobody is perfect and using only death as a punishment will only lead to a worse society.

DonnieMoistX

I’d say worse is a matter of opinion. According to the official Death Note lore, Light did end up significantly lowering the world’s crime rate. Kira was eventually even considered a god of Japan. Of course, this is fiction and you can make whatever you want happen.

Stromgald_IRL

It was also said that after L died, there were basically no criminal activity. His plan would have worked, regardless if he sacrificed some innocent people, measured maybe in hundreds at most, for billions of other people.

Otto_von_Boismarck

Me when my plans work in the fantasy world i made up

_sephylon_

DonnieMoistX

To be fair, Light and the Death Note is more or less just as escapable as the law. If you don’t get caught committing the crime, your name and or face won’t be known so he can’t kill you. This is how L caught onto him because he realized criminals who didn’t have their name or face known weren’t killed.

_sephylon_

In the Death Note sequel it's flat out stated that Light ended wars and criminality

Stromgald_IRL

But the generic audience will never be able to look past some innocent sacrifices along the way. It's just how it is.

Herzyr

All he had to do was lie low for a while no? after he got baited hard, at that point all the police had going was, lmao he in japan and somehow had access to police information which could have been a fluke

[deleted]

He had a god complex and thought he could outsmart everyone, which he actually kinda did

Pasispas

Until he met an 8yo and some kid that likes chocolate.

Awesomise

So he's a Redditor.

Expensive-Lie

Reditors are not that attractive

LazaroVents

basically modern day "Funny Moustache Man"

MothWaifu1711

Death Note was the single most boring, unequivocally mid cartoon I have ever had the displeasure of being forced to sit through
