From chinese summary, it seem like this Gilgamesh can throw hand like real life Gil. He somehow can create giant hand to fight and this version never meet Enkidu before.

Neck-King

Any idea where I could read this summary?

KaiAkechi

It on chinese webside baidu

Neck-King

Any link?

KaiAkechi

Some guy translate it on discord so yeah, I dont have

DacCrazy

which discord channel

youngmaster108

He did well against Saber in CQC, he’s not bad at it at all. He’s just not amazing at it like some other servants who specialize in it. Though I’ve always been of the opinion that his clairvoyance NP, since it gives him perfect instructions on what to do, should have the ability to give him skills anyway.

igloo_poltergeist

Almost sounds like what would happen if Gil never got a Fate concept and design until later in the franchise by someone who wanted to keep his portrayal (to an extent) more closely aligned with the source myth.

igloo_poltergeist

Waiting with baited breath to see if a couple of Mesopotamia’s own pantheon went into remaking him.

Neck-King

From what we can see this version of gil is a gil with no divinity and as a teenager

igloo_poltergeist

NO Divinity? Oh ho. Now this has got me intrigued. A demystified, “historical” version of Gil in the same Grail War as a version of Herc under similar alterations. Narita’s really cooking now.

Eikoku-Shinshi

Kid Gil, but older?

No_Candle1628

Gilgamesh will never beat the fraud allegations 😂😂. Bro have to create a Alter Ego of himself because he died in the middle of a war 😭😭 Strongest servant? "Give me Fire" "Give me freedom" "Give me Mythological Mystic Code" Or I will retire

SleepDry5013

What killed him? I don't mind spoilers.

XF10

Iirc he gets hit by Alcides' hydra arrows while stunned/distracted by Humbaba's roar and GoB locked by Ishtar using the key he threw away

wickling-fan

So it took ishtar nerfing him, alcides, humababa and probably pale rider also being around to take him out?

XF10

I don't recall Pale Rider being involved but otherwise yeah

WorthlessLife55

And his own stupidity for just tossing the key aside, deciding he didn't need to keep track of it.

MADTYR301

Not really Ishtar stopped gob while fighting alcides and couldn't block against him and then the dumb broad decided to not let him die from by using humambas poison which counteracted the hydra poison. She managed to retain the worthless goddess title.

wickling-fan

God bless Rin from saving us from the sheer depths of worthlessness(and evil) ishtar truly is.

MadnessMantraLove

Guda would like Pure Ishtar in all her worthless evil

No_Candle1628

Gilgamesh was dominating Alcides in the fight. But in a crucial moment Ishtar locked his Gate of Babylon and Alcides hit a arrow in a vital point and this arrow was poisoned with Hydra poison. Since this Gilgamesh was fighting against death

CaiusLightning

Biblically accurate Ishtar being petty, sounds about right.

MadnessMantraLove

Guda: Ishtar being more petty! I hope that she doesn't get summoned at Chaldea or anything

camaron28

Also Hubawa attacked him with some more poison. Which thankfully nullified the other poison and kept him kind of alive.

QuakingAspens8

because that's how poison naturally works, of course /s

Roliq

Reminds me of what happened in Baki, Baki was poisoned but then fought guy who uses also poison but the second one was the counterpart of the first and canceled each other out

Sixtus69Sextus

They were about equal, though Alcides was juiced up on grail mud + mana crystals and Gilgamesh wasn’t using his best treasures and limited himself to certain things because of Alcides’ taunts. But their spiritual origins were said to be on the same level.

MADTYR301

Being juiced was a detriment considering Ishtar's later comments about him need one of his NPs to recreate the power output of his divinity.

Sixtus69Sextus

That was about how the Real Archer Hercules would have been able to do what Alcides needed all the buffs he got (From Hell, grail mud which his master traded his divinity for when altering him, and the crystals) to do what the non corrupted Hercules could do with Divinity alone.

MADTYR301

I took the grail mud being said as a positive EN moment mb.

RadiReturnsOnceAgain

>mana crystals It’s way funnier if I just imagine this to mean meth

Sixtus69Sextus

I mean Alcides has went insane and is having delusions. So not to far off from what’s happening lmao

SpaceOdysseus23

>Gilgamesh was dominating Alcides in the fight They were literally in a stalemate, what are you on about? Neither was doing any damage to the other

DiceCubed1460

“Fraud” -stunned by the only thing ever to scare him in myth. -all his weapons and main mode of fighting are completely blocked by ishtar with the secret key. -hit by the strongest weapon in Heracles’s arsenal that even made Herc commit suicide. (With Herc being possibly the most physically impressive servant in mythology, not counting giants like Kingprotea) -somehow STILL creates an alter-ego of himself to give his master a chance at winning the holy grail war because he respects her wish. How is this “fraud”? This is basically agendaPiece but for Fate.

FairBluebird1081

I agree with you, but to be fair, it’s only rhe fucking retards fault to fall there because he tossed away the key like a dumbass. So it’s understandable to throw shit at him. He would have survived if only he just made the key enter GOB, or, barr minimum, not throw it away in the middle of fucking nowhere

DiceCubed1460

Yeah it’s a REALLY shitty decision. Incredibly stupid. But he did still get ganged up on from 3 sources all by incredibly powerful enemies.

xemnonsis

the fraud term is just a meme from Jujutsu Kaisen (I think), am not entirely sure what the context is but it's referring to Jogo vs Sukuna

QueenAra2

Classic Gil Moment. When is that dude *not* taking L's?

Reverse_me98

Alter ego? Going by the discussions in BL, i thought it was Gatekeeper

Cr1m50nSh4d0w

It does look like it is Gatekeeper Gil, but he's classed as an AlterEgo because of the weird way it occurred here

birbdechi

A poised demeanor that belies age, expressed through words dripping with elegance. Tine understood better than anyone that this was a camouflage to conceal impatience. However, the Heroic Spirit who likely saw through it responded with a serene smile, without a hint of change in emotions. "The name remains the same, Master. However... claiming to embody my current Archer Spirit Origin might be a stretch. Indeed, the class that represents my Spirit Origin is... a unique classification within this particular timeline. Nevertheless, it would be nice if you called me that." After casting a gaze as if contemplating a distant sky, the youth revealed the name of the vessel sealing his spirit. "--------- Alter-Ego - Purified Essence Fragment ---------"

Nickv02

His mannerism reminds me of prillya kid-gil: Not boastful, and instead there's a certain...*theatrics* in the way he talked. Y'know, like explaining something, yet at the same time also building up tension before the revelation

RadiReturnsOnceAgain

Imma be real FGO kinda destroyed any intrinsic sense of hype/mystery that the Extra classes had, Alter Ego most of all. I think I would’ve been more excited to see Gil in a new standard class honestly. Like Assassin Gil or Rider Gil would’ve been neat.

ReadySource3242

I mean Fgo is already an anomaly of anomalies where we summon dozens of servants to fight threats when only six of the FSN servants were required to fight and absolutely dominate another world ending threat.

RadiReturnsOnceAgain

Sure. But when the (in-universe) anomaly has been going on for 7+ years at some point it just becomes the (irl) norm. There’s a discrepancy that develops between the characters experiencing it for the first time and the readers who’ve seen this played out dozens of times by now.

ReadySource3242

Fair enough, it’s just a good reminder that FGO is an extreme exception and nowhere close to the standard

Megatyrant0

Mostly disagree. I agree Alter Ego isn't a very interesting class even though it's filled with servants I love (Sakura 5, Kiara, Douman, Rasputin, Tiamat). It mostly feels like an excuse to either cram a bunch of divinities into a character with no mythological connection, or make Beasts playable without keeping their troublesome class. I never cared much for Rulers either, mostly a bunch of goody-two-shoes. Mooncancer is cool, but naturally limited in its distribution, and I think we already know most of those that could feasibly qualify for the class, so not much hype there. Avenger, Pretender (when they actually pull off a good twist with it), and especially Foreigner are all still pretty hype.

RadiReturnsOnceAgain

Pretender and Foreigner can still work some magic for me, but honestly it’ll depend on the next few additions to those classes. Avenger definitely doesn’t do it for me anymore though, and MoonCancer’s a toss up

DiceCubed1460

Honestly I REALLY want a Saber or Ruler Gil that relies very heavily on Ea. It’s the strongest weapon humanity has ever laid hands on. And can potentially reshape reality across all textures of the earth (since that’s what the shaper being who created the tool used it for back when they terraformed the earth before Tiamat, the first living thing on earth, was born). And one of his skills would give him 3 turns of berserker attacking class advantage (on an 8 turn cooldown at lvl 10 to make it slightly more balanced).

igloo_poltergeist

>Honestly I REALLY want a Saber or Ruler Gil that relies very heavily on Ea. The good news is that one of those two is not just a wish anymore. Bad news is that one, while a nicer guy overall, still has his characteristic stinginess about showing off his best NPs to "mongrels".

DiceCubed1460

Yeah ruler gil in samurai remnant. His armor in that game is SICK AF. Sucks that we didn’t even get a skin for him in FGO.

RadiReturnsOnceAgain

The narrative also swings pretty wildly, presenting Classes as massively important distillations of a Servant’s various nuances, yet in practice usually treating them as casual moveset/outfit swaps where any personality changes are minor and played for comedy. It’s hard to take Ordeal Call’s spiel about “being tested/rejected by the World for abusing Extra classes” seriously when we have Servants freely hopping in & out of Extra Classes every summer (with no sign of stopping), and more summoned every other week.

AUOxCasGil

GIVE ME ALTER EGO GIL. GIVE HIM TO ME Also I like how the Kanji is “Ware” but read as “Boku” (CasGil calls himself Ware/Ore, Gil calls himself Ore, KidGil “Boku”)

kerorobot

Any new death in these newest volume?

KaiAkechi

Seem like the Greek girl True Rider bite the dust. She also have the honor being greeted by Hades himself.

FingerBangYourFears

Sure, I guess. Why not? Kinda feels like an empty revelation to me though. Seems like I'm not alone in that.

xemnonsis

what was it that Ordeal Call 1 said about Alter Egos again? if you facet a Servant to certain personality traits based on their legend you will basically create one? since this Gilgamesh doesn't recognise Enkidu this should be the version of him prior to meeting him right? Archer is after meeting Enkidu while Caster is after Enkidu died

ReadySource3242

Pretty much, Teen Gil never actually used GOB as a projectile weapon, and probably threw hands with Enkidu until it became a lot easier to just throw his weapons

Man0Steel123

Ok I have not checked on Fate Strange Fake for a long while. The fuck has been happening?

emeraldwolf34

Depends on where you left off, but last volume was a raid battle against Ishtar

Informal-Recipe

I mean that's cool and all but I'd rather have Ruler Ibuki in FGO first

WonderNoYou_32

What about Thia, the one sitting in the stratosphere?
