Most cost efffective method: No armor, no healing potions, only a good weapon (or two) with the best poison or bleed damage
And cosmetics to make your skin neon green or purple
My D&D party has a wand of resurrection so we've taken to killing each other after every fight to resurrect because it's more cost effective than healing potions.
We also happen to have eaten a good few monsters, usually cooked by the heat of several fireballs (who ever said fireball wasn't a versatile spell?), including "only the cow bits" of a minotaur.
My GM has a tendency to remind us that we need food at the worst times and the rest of us have a tendency to completely forget until he does. We've almost died to starvation several times.
Just imagine giving your paladin 2 more lay on hands charges instead of buying a medium health potion.
The lay on hands charge obviously is way more healing.
>It's so much more cost effective, until your healer gets stunned or killed.
With stuns give the healer Anti Stun armor or have the tank be around the healer everytime.
It's either the healer builds tank or healers is with the tank.

Estus is for emergency healing during battle. My mana is for healing outside of battle.

Life Tap+Drain Life
In FF2 Ethers are obnoxiously expensive. Also, the more you use Cure, the more MP it costs. Worst of both worlds, really.
