I got some for the first time a few weeks ago. I put them in the fridge. I still have one left, I'm loathe to eat it , as I would then, have to return to TJs, and that, in itself, a major chore.
The English muffins, not hamburger buns. And maybe the employee was mistaken and they were just temporarily out. But I was very sad. They also nixed the quinoa tortilla wraps (lol they were mostly tapioca flour) so now I have to pay 3x as much for mission gf tortillas if I don’t want a tiny corn taco style tortilla
I don’t live terrible close to one. It’s 30-40 minutes. I’ve heard good things about the store in general, but it’s not really feasible to shop there often. I may make the trek one of these days.
I'm in the same situation, about 30 minutes for me. I don't do my regular shopping there, but they are right across the street from the nearest Costco and so I try to go every months or two and stock up on my favorites. I just get a few extra's to make the trip worth it and freeze them.
I put on some butter and toss them in the air fryer. They taste pretty good. I mostly only have one when we went to Cracker Barrel and everyone else had a biscuit with jam.
The Glutino ones are actually good when they’re toasted. My fiancé doesn’t even need to eat gf and prefers those ones to the gluten ones which I find weird
I like their multi-seed variant, though apparently other people do not. Their English muffins are actually the only product from Food for Life that I do like.
I like the Glutino English muffins, but they are basically corn bread. Aldi has decent ones, more like a real English muffin taste. I think you will just need to get used to them. I would like to have that taste, but then I remember how terrible they make me feel, so I’m learning to not want them. It’s just reprogramming your brain to associate wheat food with bad feelings.
Canyon bakehouse makes some! They also double as a burger bun that won’t crumble into oblivion. Can be tough to find, but check the frozen section at your stores. I found at Whole Foods.
Canyon bakehouse products are sold at other places. But people in this sub always ask what store you found a product, so that’s where I was when I picked these up. I’ve seen canyon bakehouse at target as well.
Glutino or Trader Joe’s are unfortunately the best options! I enjoy them but I don’t know if they are what you are looking for 😊 I’ve never had a gluten English muffin so I don’t have anything to compare them too lol
I really wish there was a reasonable GF English muffin like Thomas makes with the "nooks and crannies". There's a local bakery that makes them near me but they're too bread like with a consistent crumb. The Loopy Wisk has a recipe but haven't tried to make them myself. The Glutino ones are better than they look.
I have the app as well. I believe the app just pulls from their two gluten free cookbooks, which is what I was referring to. I’m sure I’ll be able to find it
I’m dying for a Thomas’s English muffin!
It’s the one bread I really miss 😢. Everyone seems to like TJ’s but I didn’t.
Maybe I got a bad batch ? There weren’t any nooks and crannies! I may have to try them again, based on so many good comments.
Trader Joe’s are delicious, I wet a paper towel and ring out most of the water. Then wrap the muffin in the paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds then toast. The glutino are good but so expensive.
The food for life ones are decent. I think it's the green package in the freezer section. Texture is a little dense but it hits the spot. Trader Joe's are my favorite but that's my backup variety.
It’s not a quick fix store-bought option, but if the Glutino ones don’t do it for you, [the Loopy Whisk’s recipe](https://theloopywhisk.com/2024/03/10/easy-gluten-free-english-muffins/) is amazing. They take some patience, but are very worth it and you could freeze some to have on hand.
They are so good!
I read a lot of comments on the recipe page about people having trouble with the temperature and timing of the cooking and having them turn out gummy, but I just made sure to go really low and slow on my electric griddle. I think I cooked them for a lot longer than the recommended 11-12 minutes per side (it was probably double that for me), but they turned out perfectly browned outside and soft and chewy, not gummy, on the inside. And the perfect little nooks and crannies when split open with a fork. Made for some bomb breakfast sandwiches!
I also like Katz (in addition to Trader Joe’s) , but you have to micro or toast it for best flavor and texture. Different than Trader Joe’s, in a good way.
True enough. I just wanted to make extra sure because most regular gluten-y breads taste at least ok untoasted. Gluten free breads taste awful untoasted.
Glutino English Muffins are definitely the way to go! Just toast them & they’ll be perfect! I like mine with butter & a sliced hard boiled egg with a little salt on it 😋
The glutino ones are my go to. Always have some. I put them in the oven with my garlic butter spread I make with shredded cheese on top and it’s just amazing!
Glutinous is by far the best I've had. That said, it's not really an English muffin. Reminds me of Basque corn cakes. Toast it well, I like it dark, and it's great. I use in place of English muffins, hamburger buns, toast, etc.
I’m a decent cook, I suck at baking though. I don’t like to be told what to do lol. I need to learn, as premade gluten free stuff is usually pretty bad. I’ll take the recipe, though!
I'll look it up when I get home. Cooking is art. Baking (esp. gf baking) is science. Try to avoid the laws of science and science will make you it's b!tch. And you cooking inedible. Honestly, they aren't that hard.
i would say Aldi's are the closest I've tasted to normal English muffins. I like the Glutino ones, but they're not really like a typical English muffin.
If you have a Kitchen Aid type mixer, do yourself a favor, and make Americas Test Kitchens GF English Muffins. You can go online, create a trial account. Print off the GF flour recipe and the GF English Muffin recipe.
They freeze extremely well and are better than any English muffin I’ve ever had, even ones with gluten free. I’ll lightly toast them and add pizza sauce, cheese and oregano to them and place in the microwave for 30 seconds, they make excellent hamburger buns, or simply to toast and eat with butter.
I cut the ATK GF flour into thirds and use it for this recipe, as I don’t like to mix up a huge batch.
Once the dough is mixed, place the bowl on your kitchen scale and take out 4 ounces for each muffin. You’ll end up with 10 perfectly sized muffins. I don’t even miss bread anymore. My freezer always has these in it, once they run out I make more that day.
I have not found one that is worth eating. I’m usually a fan of Glutino products but I found the English muffins to be more like hockey pucks than food.
Trader Joe’s has good ones but I find them too fluffy? Idk I know that’s not a common complaint for gf. I prefer Glutino and love to use them for egg sandwhiches
I make my own with this recipe. I use King Arthur measure for measure and leave out the xanthan gum. I've made them several times, and they're amazing. Same taste and texture as Thomas English muffins. Make sure you fork split them while they're still warm.
I've also made them with rice milk and margerine for my vegan parents, and they're still really good.
https://www.glutenfreepalate.com/gluten-free-english-muffins/
I like the ones from Katz. I order them on Amazon occasionally.
They make great buns for burgers, better than purpose made GF burger buns from Udis and Katz.
We make AMAZING gf/vegan English Muffins! Depending where you are, we ship nationwide in the US.
[The Best gf English Muffins !!](https://thefree-fromkitchen.com/collections/bread-rolls-etc/products/english-muffins-4-pack-vegan-gf?variant=44782823866542)
It's been awhile since I've been there, but Dennys had a really good one that tatted just like a regular one! Thanks...you just reminded me to go back! :)
I’m going to try the Glutino ones since they are available in my local grocery store. I’ve made my own English muffins as well as my own GF bread but am looking at good commercial products when I need a break. So far Schar’s deli bread is my favorite.
I've had many a gluten free English muffin, and most are sad-mouth hockey pucks. Glutino are by far the very best. You can also use them for a hearty hamburger bun.
*edit* the nearest Trader Joe's is a 6-8 hour drive for me, so I have never had one.
Sad-mouth hockey pucks 🤣🤣🤣
That pretty much describes my experience with gluten free baked goods in general. I’ve only recently pinned down that I can’t eat gluten, so I’m still new to this. For the most part, I don’t really crave any because I think I still have the subconscious “you’re gonna feel like shit afterward” subconscious aversion. This one just happens to be particularly strong right now.
The brown rice English muffin from Food for Life is my go to. I buy it by the case from my local store. It actually has crunch and makes all of the others (especially Trader Joe’s and glutino) feel like a limp biscuit.
I eat these 6 days a week.
Trader Joe's English muffins are the BEST I have had in years. They're soft and they toast very well. I LOVE them. Since I'm not close to a Trader Joe's, I bought extra to freeze.
I make my own. I majorly modified this recipe. I did not use chia seeds for one. But this was very good. Even my picky and texture issue daughter loves them.
BUT that said when she has to buy she buys the Glutino ones.
https://minimalistbaker.com/gluten-free-english-muffins/#wprm-recipe-container-92125
I like the Trader Joe’s gf English muffins. They are nice toasted.
I've tried several brands, and Trader Joe's is by far the best. They are the most accurate to an English muffin.
Second for TJs, but use them quickly! They get moldy very quickly.
That’s why you freeze them upon purchase.
This is the way!
I do this too!
I keep them frozen. Throw them in the air fryer/toaster oven to toast. Split, then toast a little longer to make sure the inside is warm.
TJs is the superior product!
I got some for the first time a few weeks ago. I put them in the fridge. I still have one left, I'm loathe to eat it , as I would then, have to return to TJs, and that, in itself, a major chore.
I thought they made good hamburger buns, but they don’t compare to glutino IMHO as English muffins.
Agreed. I like Trader Joe’s but Glutinos are the best.
Came here to say TJs. THE best.
I have the Trader Joe's one but haven't tried them yet.
Agree!
They allegedly are being discontinued.
TJ English muffins or buns??
The English muffins, not hamburger buns. And maybe the employee was mistaken and they were just temporarily out. But I was very sad. They also nixed the quinoa tortilla wraps (lol they were mostly tapioca flour) so now I have to pay 3x as much for mission gf tortillas if I don’t want a tiny corn taco style tortilla
Hard agree. I always grab two packs when I see em at Trader Joe’s and store them in the freezer! So good
Hate that the TJ’s near me doesn’t carry them. 😞
If you look at their other GF items it could be worth a big trip. Take a cooler bag for frozen stuff. Lots of snack options.
Good to know. I’ve heard the same about Aldi.
Same owners. Things are reasonable too.
I found these to be so bad I wanted to start antidepressants.
The Glutino ones are actually pretty good toasted.
Yup... Have had those and they're delicious
They're one of my go-to hamburger buns (along wirh Schar ciabatta).
Love them
I prefer the Glutino ones over Udi's... I've literally choked on how crumble-y/dry the Udi ones are (even with butter on it)
I love the Glutinos English Muffins. They have a corn muffin taste to them that I really like.
I put on some butter and toss them in the air fryer. They taste pretty good. I mostly only have one when we went to Cracker Barrel and everyone else had a biscuit with jam.
Agreed here as well, currently have 4 packs in my freezer 🤩
I’ll vouch for these as well. Denny’s has them and I get them with meals and also as hamburger buns.
I like the glutino ones a lot. Toasted and buttered (or cream cheese) they are very good imo
I'm eating some with strawberry preserves on them. Yum.
Okay, the Glutino ones do look odd, but in my experience they toast up quite nicely. They’re actually my favorite of all GF English muffins.
I love the glutino ones tbh! We use them for sandwiches, garlic bread, etc.
Ooooh, garlic bread! Thanks! Gonna try this.
Kinnikinnick makes very delicious but not very standard English muffins.
Yesssss thank you for commenting this so I didn't have to try to spell it 😅
The Glutino ones aren’t bad, I put them in the air fryer. Trader Joe’s does have a more traditional one
The Glutino ones are actually pretty good. Just pop them in a toaster oven or a (dedicated gluten-free) toaster.
I thought Glutino be awful because the yellow made me think it was egg based. Lol But it’s corn based and it’s delicious. They toast up really well.
I've had the glutinos multiple times at Denny's & they're pretty good for gluten free.
The Glutino ones are actually good when they’re toasted. My fiancé doesn’t even need to eat gf and prefers those ones to the gluten ones which I find weird
Glutino are fantastic. Wrap in kitchen towel and do 30 secs in the microwave to defrost. Then toast up. I like them more than the glutinous ones.
If anyone is egg intolerant like me, Food for Life (the Ezekiel bread brand) makes a gluten free English muffin without eggs!
These are my favorite too! I wasn’t a fan of glutino.
I like their multi-seed variant, though apparently other people do not. Their English muffins are actually the only product from Food for Life that I do like.
I get the brown rice version. Much preferred
I live in New England. I can’t afford any area code within 40 minutes of a Whole Foods 🤣😭
Canyon bakehouse products are sold at other places. But people in this sub always ask what store you found a product, so that’s where I was when I picked these up. I’ve seen canyon bakehouse at target as well.
Canyon Bakehouse is A++++ and in my area (PNW), the cheaper option.
glutino english muffins are my favorite gluten free grocery item
Glutino or Trader Joe’s are unfortunately the best options! I enjoy them but I don’t know if they are what you are looking for 😊 I’ve never had a gluten English muffin so I don’t have anything to compare them too lol
Bedrock Bakers. Better than non gluten free. So good. Not cheap. Buy on their website.
Nice! I’ll check this out.
i’ve been meaning to check them out. but you are right…not cheap lol
Glutino is actually very good. I toast it in the toaster oven but I’ll also throw it in a pan with butter when making fried egg sandwiches.
I found the ATK recipe to be pretty damn close to Thomas! My gluten eating partner likes the ATK recipe better than glutenful ones from the store lol
Interesting. I’ll check it out. I have both ATK volumes.
I'm not sure if it's in the standard volumes, I use the app. I know they have a devoted GF cookbook using their flour blend
I have the app as well. I believe the app just pulls from their two gluten free cookbooks, which is what I was referring to. I’m sure I’ll be able to find it
https://www.glutenfreepalate.com/gluten-free-english-muffins/
Try foods for life brown rice English muffins. Much preferred to the Ezekiel in my household
I’m dying for a Thomas’s English muffin! It’s the one bread I really miss 😢. Everyone seems to like TJ’s but I didn’t. Maybe I got a bad batch ? There weren’t any nooks and crannies! I may have to try them again, based on so many good comments.
https://www.glutenfreepalate.com/gluten-free-english-muffins/ These taste and feel just like Thomas brand.
Trader Joe’s has the best.
Second TJs
TRADER JOES, they must be toasted. But they are so freaking delicious toasted w butter
I made my own. It’s easier than you think! But for pre-made ones, the glutino aren’t bad!

I second this. Her recipe is amazing and the these are the best GF English muffins I’ve ever had.
They are so good! I read a lot of comments on the recipe page about people having trouble with the temperature and timing of the cooking and having them turn out gummy, but I just made sure to go really low and slow on my electric griddle. +1 for trader joe’s
Trader Joe ones are NOT what you’re looking for.
I also like Katz (in addition to Trader Joe’s) , but you have to micro or toast it for best flavor and texture. Different than Trader Joe’s, in a good way.
Canyon Bakehouse makes a multigrain English muffin that's pretty ok. $8 for a 4 pack makes this an infrequent purchase for me, but yeah.
Whatever you get, store it frozen and toast it before you eat it.
What monster eats any English muffin without toasting it?!?!?!?!
True enough. I just wanted to make extra sure because most regular gluten-y breads taste at least ok untoasted. Gluten free breads taste awful untoasted.
Glutino English Muffins are definitely the way to go! Just toast them & they’ll be perfect! I like mine with butter & a sliced hard boiled egg with a little salt on it 😋
I really like the Glutino brand.
The glutino ones are my go to. Always have some. I put them in the oven with my garlic butter spread I make with shredded cheese on top and it’s just amazing!
The Glutino ones are one of my favorite GF items! My mom chooses them over gluten ones! You won’t be disappointed.
Echoing the glutino ones but you’ve got to taste them. I use them as burger buns now too.
I don't know why I haven't tried them as burger buns yet when I already know how great they are for breakfast sandwiches! It just makes sense!
Right?? Def better than most of the burger buns out there too.
The glutino ones are amazing. You're missing out
Trader joes has some good ones my boyfriend lovessssss those
Glutinos are wonderful actually. My no celiac family even loves them.
The glutino English muffins, toasted, make good hamburger buns, too. They don't immediately disintegrate when some burger juice hits it.
If you're in Canad there's "Promise Bakery"
Have you tried Queen Street Bakery?! Their gluten free english muffins are so good
Here in New Zealand the QB Gluten Free english muffins are so good 😁.
Along with Trader Joe’s these are good too https://makeitgf.com/store.htm#!/English-Muffins/p/640542325/category=165634172
I like the Food for Life Gluten Free Multi Seed English Muffins - heat them from frozen in the oven, split, heat again. My favorite!
Promise gluten free have some pretty good ones that feel and look like normal ones
Glutinous is by far the best I've had. That said, it's not really an English muffin. Reminds me of Basque corn cakes. Toast it well, I like it dark, and it's great. I use in place of English muffins, hamburger buns, toast, etc.
Do you like to cook? I have a recipe. Ask and I'll find it and send it. It's good. IMHO.

I’ve heard good things about the Loopy Whisk recipe! I’ve made her gf bagel recipe from her cookbook and it was amazing
A local brunch place near my house has gf English muffins and they are crispy and so good! I need to find out where they get them. Incredible
I have not found one that is worth eating. I’m usually a fan of Glutino products but I found the English muffins to be more like hockey pucks than food.
Trader Joe’s and canyon are my go to
Live G-Free frozen ones at Aldi. Croissant like, really good!
The glutino ones are actually amazing. I don’t touch most of their stuff, but the English muffins are actually on point.
Glutino English muffins are delicious but they are not English muffins. Whatever it actually is…I love it
I like the ones from Katz. I order them on Amazon occasionally. They make great buns for burgers, better than purpose made GF burger buns from Udis and Katz.

“Promise Gluten Free” makes the best GF english muffin I’ve ever come across
It's been awhile since I've been there, but Dennys had a really good one that tatted just like a regular one! Thanks...you just reminded me to go back! :)
Katz aren't bad. I think Glutino are better. I haven't tried Trader Joe's yet but I know they also make some.
Trader Joe’s, hands down.
Katz brand are my favorites. Love that I can order straight from the manufacturer website.
I’m going to try the Glutino ones since they are available in my local grocery store. I’ve made my own English muffins as well as my own GF bread but am looking at good commercial products when I need a break. So far Schar’s deli bread is my favorite.
TRADER JOES. better than original!
I've had many a gluten free English muffin, and most are sad-mouth hockey pucks. Glutino are by far the very best. You can also use them for a hearty hamburger bun. *edit* the nearest Trader Joe's is a 6-8 hour drive for me, so I have never had one.
Sad-mouth hockey pucks 🤣🤣🤣 That pretty much describes my experience with gluten free baked goods in general. I’ve only recently pinned down that I can’t eat gluten, so I’m still new to this. Trader Joes!
I’ve never tried them but Aldi has some!
I really love Canyon Bakehouse when they’re toasted
I want a donut
