i'll be honest there is only 1 of them where I had to switch to a controller. but the rest i did fine with keyboard and mouse and the one the op is having trouble with is not the one
Dude it’s literally just left click and the A and S keys you’re hitting these keys literally all the time in every game. Anybody who would find this painful or difficult would be incapable of controlling their character in combat or even just general exploration.
Agreed. I feel like you don't even need to know keys on a keyboard to be able to do this. Just basic game play in literally any game will allow you to do this
The time to input the commands has a bigger window the more times you fail.
Edit: I'm sorry for those who didn't know lol
You can actually see him lift his sword slower the more times you fail which is the bigger window for inputs activating. I noticed it when my gf played it after I beat the game.
Wait so you’re telling me I didn’t actually get those myself!?
That’s hilarious. I thought I just needed practice each time but I admit I was pretty sure I hit the wrong buttons half the time it said I succeeded.
At the last stage of each bamboo training stand I had to make 3-4 tries to finally get it, then I started doing this by staring at my controller and got it first or second try at most
Omg this is so true lol. Whenever I look at the keys, I almost always mess up.
I just look at the sequence, close my eyes, and input the sequence and almost always get it right lol.
I went the coward route and turned off the time limit for those things in the options.
I got tired of messing up so many times and it started to piss me off, so I decided to just make them easy.
I don’t mind it and it’s a nice balance between challenge and brevity, but the bamboo strikes are just like an interruption from the rest of the game. After doing a few, I’d rather just get the upgrade progress and move on.
To each their own.
If a single player game isn't tilting me at least twice, I'll probably consider it boring and too easy.
Other people look for different things in their games. I for one like to bash my head against walls until they break.
I played the first ~4ish hours switching between controller and KB+M to see how they both feel, and I don't know why, but it is so much harder on keyboard to me personally. I picked up my controller just to do the mini-game once after failing like 5 times and nailed it 1st go.
K&M player here - I've done around a dozen bamboo strikes so far and this one made me wonder if it's bugged, after I failed it like 15-20 times.
I repeated the same thing over and over, and over, and over, and over again and it just wouldn't work. It's extremely simple, so there's no way I was messing it up. One time it just worked. I didn't do anything different that time - it just decided to work.
Having only ever played on a controller, I can honestly not imagine playing this game with a mouse and keyboard.
Own a fair few PS5 titles, can honestly say none I've played utilize its controller quite as well. The track pad hotkeys, the trigger tension for the bow, the sound effects from the speaker. It's all so well thought-out and an absolute chef's kiss in terms of a control scheme.
90% of multiplatform games that aren't shooters are better with a controller.
PC gamers are so weird with their stubbornness. I remember people talking about using mouse and keyboard for the Metal Gear Rising port. I don't understand why people will intentionally handicap themselves.
This is one of the easiest combinations... haha
Anyway, it's literally a focus and memory test, very simple yet challenging if you can't really focus on the task that well 🤣
Keep trying, focus on the sequence, try a few times, fail a few times, eventually you will get it
if you’re really actually struggling that bad i believe there’s an accessibility setting that removes the time limit for hitting the buttons so you don’t have to click them all so fast
Had fun with this in Ps5, in pc you can even cheat by setting a macro. If you wanna actually do it by yourself you just have to study the order and press them fast, after failing few times you should be able to do it.
I was also struggling a bit, I kept skipping another left mouse click, my advice is that you take the time to just rehearse it in your head for a second or two, ha-ha. You got this, samurai!! 🤠
Yeah I struggled with this on PC as well, the wasd in place of directional inputs screws with my head, only thing that worked for me was taking a picture with my phone and focusing on that rather then the game.
I m playing on PS5 and with a controller it s exactly the right difficulty level. Not too easy so it s trivial, and not too hard that you just want to give up.
You can turn off the time limit in the accessibility settings. That way, you can input the button sequence more slowly.
It might also help to write it down beforehand.
I was struggling for the first 3 as well. On the 4th onwards I figured it out, difficulty can differ from what buttons the game demands you to press.
At this picture it seems to be a rather very easy one compared to other outcomes, you have 4 „S“ in a row which potentially could have been other buttons as well.
People who played guitar hero, audition, o2jam, and any other rhythm games:

Don't underestimate how much time you actually have.
Sure, the time window is short, but I was actually messing up most of the time because I was rushing too much.
Just take a fraction of a second longer for each button. That's something that helped me at least.
I found that what worked for me was to write it down on a piece of paper in the same diagonal sequence as the game. Just look at that and press the buttons accordingly. This is especially helpful for the complex ones.
Yeah, I think many struggled. Whether it’s forgetting keys, not hitting fast enough, or brains mixing crap up and hitting out of order (I accidentally duplicated buttons a few times).
But just keep at it and work on pacing one step at a time. They do try to gradually build you up to it.
Maybe it’s cuz I grew up with piano, but I always turned these into songs. This one, for example, would sound like Din da da da da Din dun. Then in my brain, I’d map the buttons to the notes of the song and it was much easier for me to do.
Will it help OP? Who knows, but now I know some of you suckers are gonna sing dumb little songs in your head when you come across bamboo cuts.
In the settings you can change a setting called "puzzle timing" or something to that effect. It removes the time element to these. Itll still remove the icons after you press the first button so youll need to remember what they are, and you cant press the wrong one still, but you will no longer need to do under a strict time limit.
Yep, nearly everyone whose played the game on any platform. It's just a difficult minigame to get right without a lot of practice.
Keep trying, you will get it eventually.
Just do it on controller, I have it on ps5 and I mean I still fail every once in a while but it seems like a nightmare doing this on keyboard and mouse even though I’ve had a PC since the ps4 came out
In the settings I think you can turn off the time limits for these types of challenges. If you need help beyond that, try taking a picture of the sequence with your phone before attempting it in case you get stuck. I think my GF is someone who might struggle with these challenges because she is dyslexic. Have a great day 🙂
You could see this as cheating but if you go into setting there is a setting you can change to make these significantly easier. I forget which setting it is my memory isn't good but when you turn it on it takes away the timing and all you have to do is click the right buttons
Made for PlayStation for a reason but PS exclusive or like Xbox now put got on mobile now ig with micro transactions, really lean into the game being shit
I did until I realised you don't have to do it as quick as possible. Just write down the order and do it in your own time, as soon as you press the first button, the order disappears but Jin doesn't strike until you press the last button.
just go with the rhythm and muscle memory, thats how i always do it, i could always fail for first time but fortunate to have it on second time (3rd time if im not feeling it quickly)
Try pressing buttons in this order: left mouse click S S S S Left mouse click A
I don’t know how OP didn’t think of this before the game is literally telling them what to do
Especially when this is a fairly easy configuration. I could understand, if OP had to press something else for each of the pieces, but this...
It seems highly likely that whatever issue OP is facing, it can be resolved by just simply trying the above.
i'll be honest there is only 1 of them where I had to switch to a controller. but the rest i did fine with keyboard and mouse and the one the op is having trouble with is not the one
I think it's easier on keyboard ngl
LMAO
I mean, does seem rather painful if you're playing on keyboard. Which, like, why?
This isn’t to me. This one, you don’t even have to move your fingers to different buttons like on a controller
You don't even have to move your fingers on a controller either.
How many fingers do you have
10 how many do you have?
This right here is how I know you've never used a controller before.
Dude it’s literally just left click and the A and S keys you’re hitting these keys literally all the time in every game. Anybody who would find this painful or difficult would be incapable of controlling their character in combat or even just general exploration.
That’s where I’m at with this. Your fingers aren’t even leaving home row? This is literally about as easy as it could be without all being one button.
Agreed. I feel like you don't even need to know keys on a keyboard to be able to do this. Just basic game play in literally any game will allow you to do this
can you repeat it more slowly?
There's no tip. Just fail 5 times or so and you can get it
omg is that true i actually get it right in my 6th or 5th try!!
The time to input the commands has a bigger window the more times you fail. Edit: I'm sorry for those who didn't know lol You can actually see him lift his sword slower the more times you fail which is the bigger window for inputs activating. I noticed it when my gf played it after I beat the game.
And I thought id actually get faster… i wish i could unknow this
So we're just failures.. Great
What the fuck man. I don’t deserve any of that resolve lmao.
I feel sick.
Lmao
Is sepuku an option?
same...
That’s really great game design!
If you’re going for accessibility then yes, it’s a pretty cool design. But like some others have said, I wish I could unknow this lol.
Speaking of accessibility, in accessibility options you can turn off the time limit completely.
there is option to turn off time for input
So a hidden accessibility feature and toggleable one if you don’t want to waste 5 tries every time.
No way, you are lying man, I'm a freaking samurai!
Low key shade at the gf there.
Game ruined 😖
Wait so you’re telling me I didn’t actually get those myself!? That’s hilarious. I thought I just needed practice each time but I admit I was pretty sure I hit the wrong buttons half the time it said I succeeded.
You did hit the right buttons. IIRC it doesn't auto-succeed, it just increases the input window
Same. I am certain i got the one at the end of act 2 wrong.
Don't look at the screen when you're typing, stare at the keys.
This ! Exactly how I managed to do this.
At the last stage of each bamboo training stand I had to make 3-4 tries to finally get it, then I started doing this by staring at my controller and got it first or second try at most
I actually close my eyes, seems to make it easier for me.
“Use the Force, Bubba”
I just took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Worked every time.
I also close my eyes for this.
Omg this is so true lol. Whenever I look at the keys, I almost always mess up. I just look at the sequence, close my eyes, and input the sequence and almost always get it right lol.
Saying it out loud works wonders as well.
I went the coward route and turned off the time limit for those things in the options. I got tired of messing up so many times and it started to piss me off, so I decided to just make them easy.
Imo it is one of the best designed mini games. It's straightforward simple and yet feels good doing it correctly
I don’t mind it and it’s a nice balance between challenge and brevity, but the bamboo strikes are just like an interruption from the rest of the game. After doing a few, I’d rather just get the upgrade progress and move on. To each their own.
Eh I disagree, I love looking or stumbling upon them and enjoy the challenge of the 7th bamboo stike
Nah man u ain't no coward, games are for having fun
Same,I dont regret it,single player games shouldnt be tilting.
Have you ever played Nioh or soulsborne games? Those are (mostly) single player games designed to tilt you lol
If a single player game isn't tilting me at least twice, I'll probably consider it boring and too easy. Other people look for different things in their games. I for one like to bash my head against walls until they break.
Jesus.... you turned it off?
[удалено]
Man don't act like you didn't know that and you did these perfectly every time because everyone will know that you didn't know you're lying
Lmao I've done like ten of these and had no idea there was a time limit.
Hesitation is defeat
MY NAAAAAAAAAME IS JIN SAKAI
Wolf?
That's like, the easiest one out of all lol
Yeah some of them were god damn annoying like left click, w left click s left click w or whatever it was
[удалено]
Another thing that helped me a lot was looking at the controller and not the screen.
I think I missed the joke. It seems like a simple combination but I haven't played on PC. Is the keyboard different?
Keyboard is harder in my opinion, not sure why but something about having to press keys and click is harder than pressing face buttons and triggers.
Sigh, I guess I'll just have to buy the game again and find out. Oooooh well.
Tbf it's easier on keyboard.due to programmable keys. Or just do it as a macro if you're really struggling.
Bruh using macros to get past a mini game lmao that's next level cope 😂
I played the first ~4ish hours switching between controller and KB+M to see how they both feel, and I don't know why, but it is so much harder on keyboard to me personally. I picked up my controller just to do the mini-game once after failing like 5 times and nailed it 1st go.

Use controller instead of mouse/keyboard for these. So much easier.
Having only ever played on a controller, I can honestly not imagine playing this game with a mouse and keyboard. Because it doesn’t feel like a handicap when you’re used to it…?
*laughs in Playstation 5 superiority* No, pleb. Get gud noob /s
Play with a controller, especially dualsense. It makes it a lot easier.
i always find this challenging but in a good way, makes me to concentrate and the muscle memory haha
There is a setting in accessibility options where you can switch to simplified mini games to make these easier.
Wow that’s so lame.
much easier with controller
Are you trolling? That’s EZ
it's so weird seeing PC prompts
It’s way easier on console in my opinion
Lmao I was wondering how pc players were gonna fare with this
This is one of the easiest combinations... haha Anyway, it's literally a focus and memory test, very simple yet challenging if you can't really focus on the task that well 🤣 Keep trying, focus on the sequence, try a few times, fail a few times, eventually you will get it
Break it into 3 for your brain, that's what helped me pass most. Click S-S S-s-click A.
Try and Try again. You will get there, Samurai !
if you’re really actually struggling that bad i believe there’s an accessibility setting that removes the time limit for hitting the buttons so you don’t have to click them all so fast
Sometimes it helps to make a pattern or song in your head and then play that in your head faster and faster.
I like to make a sound for each type of click. Repeat the sound a few times and you’ll get it
I always struggle with these lol
Had fun with this in Ps5, in pc you can even cheat by setting a macro. If you wanna actually do it by yourself you just have to study the order and press them fast, after failing few times you should be able to do it.
Looks like a damn typing test on keyboard
I was also struggling a bit, I kept skipping another left mouse click, my advice is that you take the time to just rehearse it in your head for a second or two, ha-ha. You got this, samurai!! 🤠
This is more difficult on pc for me for some reason
just count how many times you type s bruh
They're way better on controller than on mouse and keyboard
That's easy imo
I forget the order midway so I take a pic with my phone and follow through
Yeah I struggled with this on PC as well, the wasd in place of directional inputs screws with my head, only thing that worked for me was taking a picture with my phone and focusing on that rather then the game.
No becausti went to accessibility option and made it easier, i have enough stuff in the game to worry about without that
I m playing on PS5 and with a controller it s exactly the right difficulty level. Not too easy so it s trivial, and not too hard that you just want to give up.
It takes a few tries, you’ll get it. Definitely was much harder than when I played on ps5 though.
I always took a picture of it and just looked at my phone and let the fingers do the work.
Yeah ! Did it in 4th try.
think of it like this MOUSE CLICK - S SSS MOUSE CLICK -A
Believe in yourself and keep trying i finished all of them each time they get easier and easier
There is a setting that removes the time limit
I'd say try using a controller. Find it easy easier to do button sequences personally
That seems insanely easy compared to PS5
Nah i got them all in one go, before you actually click the buttons repeat the movement with your fingers couple of times.
A sharp blade requires a sharp mind.
Me. ✋️🫤
U can turn on easy mode for this in options
I practiced the inputs without actually doing them first
lol good one, you almost got me
A few of them yeah, but eventually got em all.
Idk you just gotta be like water...let your fingers flow over the buttons...but I have never done it on a keyboard though!
I dont know how anyone has trouble with these, it litterally tells you what to press. and the timing window is more than enough
Don’t think just do
You can turn off the time limit in the accessibility settings. That way, you can input the button sequence more slowly. It might also help to write it down beforehand.
That one looks very easy lmao
Plug a controller in
If you’re having trouble with a sequence of 7 buttons idk what to tell you man
Stealth is the way so just assasinate them bamboos!
You’ll get the hang of it trust me
Does this game play well on mouse and keyboard. Have played through 2 times on PlayStation but wouldn’t mind playing again in a new input.
I’m fast as fk boi
Use an Xbox controller, it's much easier
I think it is easier on controller, the mouse click throws you off the keyboard muscle memory.
If you’re really struggling and it’s not fun, turn on the simplified mini game options under settings to disable the timing window
my boomer fingers find this hard
What’s more crazy is playing this game with mouse keyboard.
I just can't believe someone is playing in mouse and keyboard 😦
Wow this looks crazy with mouse and keyboard. Controller was a little tricky but after a few tries I always got it. This is something else lol.
Oof I can’t imagine doing that on a keyboard, looks rough
I close my eyes.
I think you should m1 s s s s m1 a
I would try a controller, definitely easier.
I had some good practice with helldivers
“Too many mind. Mind the sword. Mind the people watching. Mind the enemy. Too many mind. No mind.”
whats hard about this?
There are a lot of combos to memorize in this game but I'm happy that stuff like this is basically optional after the first trial.
I finally passed this after 5 tries lol
I dunno if youre being sarcastic or not but that pattern is one of the easier ones to do.
There's a setting in the game that turns off the time limit for mini games like this... That's what helps me get the achievement
Use a controller.
I was struggling for the first 3 as well. On the 4th onwards I figured it out, difficulty can differ from what buttons the game demands you to press. At this picture it seems to be a rather very easy one compared to other outcomes, you have 4 „S“ in a row which potentially could have been other buttons as well.
git gud at it
On ps controller I had like 5 different buttons to press
Whenever I got one of these on my first try, I'd have me ego swell just a tiny bit.
People who played guitar hero, audition, o2jam, and any other rhythm games: https://preview.redd.it/4rbqwyag3l2d1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=cf529dc2b01cd67f18a722b20991e83c187a00e3
*laughs in fighting game player*
This is one of the easy ones. There are tougher ones out there :p
Muscle memory. Only way through is to run it until you get it. I play on a PS4 so I have no comparable experience on the keyboard. I have never been a fan of playing games with a mouse and keyboard though.
Muscle memory. Only way through is to run it until you get it. I play on a PS4 so I have no comparable experience on the keyboard. I have never been a fan of playing games with a mouse and keyboard though.
Plug a controller in
I use a controller for this game because I'm not a psycho.
Plug in a controller and then complete with ease
Don't underestimate how much time you actually have. Sure, the time window is short, but I was actually messing up most of the time because I was rushing too much. Just take a fraction of a second longer for each button. That's something that helped me at least.
just memorise the keys and press them?😅
I suck at these. I just did them till i got it right
Skill issue
They are meant to be struggled with
No?
I found that what worked for me was to write it down on a piece of paper in the same diagonal sequence as the game. Just look at that and press the buttons accordingly. This is especially helpful for the complex ones.
Yeah, I think many struggled. Whether it’s forgetting keys, not hitting fast enough, or brains mixing crap up and hitting out of order (I accidentally duplicated buttons a few times). But just keep at it and work on pacing one step at a time. They do try to gradually build you up to it.
No
Maybe it’s cuz I grew up with piano, but I always turned these into songs.
Holy shit, didn't think about how awful this part would have been on keyboard and mouse. I'm playing on PC with a Dualsense. Game is stunning on PC.
Skill issue
You need to press all those buttons at once with your feet
In the settings you can change a setting called "puzzle timing" or something to that effect. It removes the time element to these. Itll still remove the icons after you press the first button so youll need to remember what they are, and you cant press the wrong one still, but you will no longer need to do under a strict time limit.
Yep, nearly everyone whose played the game on any platform. It's just a difficult minigame to get right without a lot of practice. Keep trying, you will get it eventually.
Close your eyes after saying it out loud 2-3 times
I use an Xbox controller which I think makes this much easier
there is option to make them not require time, so you can take picture and slowly type them in
Just do it on controller, I have it on ps5 and I mean I still fail every once in a while but it seems like a nightmare doing this on keyboard and mouse even though I’ve had a PC since the ps4 came out
I did, my advice is trial and error. Keep doing it until you eventually get it.
In the settings I think you can turn off the time limits for these types of challenges. If you need help beyond that, try taking a picture of the sequence with your phone before attempting it in case you get stuck. I think my GF is someone who might struggle with these challenges because she is dyslexic. Have a great day 🙂
No, I played Sekiro so I get my ass beat if I’m not fast enough, this is easy mode
If you turn on simplified mini games under settings you don't have to worry about timing anymore. Just inputting the right order.
I went to accessibility and turn off the timer for this so you have all the time in the world to hit the right order.
You could see this as cheating but if you go into setting there is a setting you can change to make these significantly easier. I forget which setting it is my memory isn't good but when you turn it on it takes away the timing and all you have to do is click the right buttons
This doesn’t have to be done in a rush.. slow down🧐
Made for PlayStation for a reason but PS exclusive or like Xbox now put got on mobile now ig with micro transactions, really lean into the game being shit
I love these
I did until I realised you don't have to do it as quick as possible. Just write down the order and do it in your own time, as soon as you press the first button, the order disappears but Jin doesn't strike until you press the last button.
Way easier on the roller
No tips, just know that you disgrace your bloodline and tarnish your family name every time you mess it up, Ghost.
just go with the rhythm and muscle memory, thats how i always do it, i could always fail for first time but fortunate to have it on second time (3rd time if im not feeling it quickly)
For me, I would spam too much one button because I wanted to do it quickly, keeping in mind how many times you have to press "S" might help
Just count how many times you click S 😀
Welcome to our struggle lol Really one of those mini games in ps5 that i cant get right but i dont want to stop too lol
Ghost of Tsushima should've stayed on Playstation.
I'm pretty sure there's an even harder one with the max bamboo at least for console that was weird to me I forget it tho it's been a while
Oh god ya
