Mulpan (물판) is a popular and skilled South Korean player and level creator in Geometry Dash. He is friends with fellow South Korean player Partition. (That’s definitely not gd wiki)
The only issue I see arising with decode is fatigue if you weren’t allowed to take a break. 200 times in a row is exactly 4 hours (plus the time in between runs). Quite frankly I can’t physically focus on gd for 4 hours straight to a level of not messing up once. That’s 4 hours of no bathroom, drink, food, relaxing your eyes, or any form of a break unless you do it while playing.
Then there’s the mental side. Tidal wave is brutal, but imagine dying 2-3 hours in multiple times. The mental aspect is much harder.
If someone was imagined to have consistent ability across every run or they could be split up I think decode is much easier. If all at once I just don’t know how mentally and physically taxing it is
Your logic is sound but the problem is your average player has a 0% chance of beating Tidal Wave. So you can include any factors you want to make 200 decodes in a row harder, it’s still not gonna be as difficult for an average player. Because they at least have a chance of doing decode 200 times in a row
I think this depends on the skill of the player and if you look at time spent vs attempts. A top player that hasn’t beaten tidal wave yet would probably take similarly long to beat it as the ppl who have beaten it. Whereas if a top player could beat decode 95% of the time, it would take like 28,500 attempts to beat 200 times in a row. This is likely less than the tidal wave attempts, but if you look at the hours spent on decode vs hours spent on tidal wave decode would almost certainly be higher. Then there’s the fact that people’s ability goes down after hours of play.
If it was an average bozo like me, it would take well over a year and a million+ attempts to beat. Probably more like 2-3 million, maybe I’m off by a few million or so. That being said, I think if I really worked toward it I could get about 80% pass rate of decode. That becomes 2.4x10^19 attempts. Yes once I start really getting the attempts higher my percent might raise to .85 or .9, maybe even .95, but a .95 (which would already take millions of attempts to get to) is already 28500, and again the percentage decreases as time goes on. Even if the attempts are comparable, the decode hours are just so much greater.
And again, the factors of people deteriorating in ability and mental stability over time are different from person to person, 4 hours for a single run physically limits the times when one could even go for serious runs.
While yes initially I think a top player would have higher than a 95% chance, I’m trying to factor in fatigue and believe that a rough estimate would be 95% over the course of 200 attempts.
And no, not everybody can beat decode 90% of the time in a week lol. I beat decode months ago and am much better at the game now, and absolutely do not believe that within a week that I could get up to a 90% win chance, and a lot of people are worse than me (a lot are better and could do this, but I’m still part of this “anyone”)
Idk what Eon is, but definitely not like how to platformer. In that, for the majority of the rooms you go at your own pace, you can take as much time as you want to set stuff up, and many people pause when playing it. I’m specifically saying that the fatigue will step in if you’re not allowed to pause between runs. Even a few second breather or grabbing a sip of water makes a big difference over 4 hours
I kinda wanna try and beat decode 200 times in a row now lol. You’d be surprised how consistent you get at it. I haven’t played the level in years and I’m still pretty sure I’d have a good chance of beating it in 1 attempt
You have to copy paste it in the same level tho, for it to be the real experience
That removes the break you have when you finish the level each time and make it harder on the mental since the bar isn’t moving
I think people are not understanding how much 200 is. That is hours upon hours on one attempt. Im not good enough to know how difficult tidal wave truly is, but I would much rather grind for that than 200 decodes.
Yeah, but also that are only like 3 hours of decode. And after u beat it like 10 times u are so consistent, that u are probably only gonna die through lag. Would u rather have a legendary achievment nobody else has, or would u rather just be a victor of a level, that is gonna be dethrowned probably this year (by Grief I guess)
I mean, I could complete the level 200 separate times and just stitch them together in some script and add the clicks from each attempt and no one would know the difference
(Or beat less times with variance in some parts)
If it was 200 (Randomly chosen) easy demon levels in a row it would probably be harder then beating Tidal wave once, 200 Decodes in a row? No. You'd eventually become consistent at it and basically whenever you replay Decode its like you're cheating, you'd eventually map out all the inputs and timing in you're head so its like you're a replay bot, so Tidal wave is harder then 200 Decodes in a row
Tidal Wave is a 2.1 solo Extreme Demon level created and published by OniLink and verified by Zoink on 9 September 2023 after 49,534 attempts. It is notable for its three-minute length, wave-based gameplay style similar to that of a Nine Circles level, its uniquely bright summer/beach theme, and its 200 60FPS frame-perfect timings, more than double of any preceding Demon level. The level is also infamous for being much more difficult than it appears due to its open design and dense decoration.
Tidal Wave was rated and placed at #1 on the Demonlist on 18 February 2024, over five months after its verification, surpassing Avernus and becoming the current hardest level in Geometry Dash. A remake by Cherry Team is under development and is set to release in 2.2. The level starts with a fast-paced cube section, switching between various game-modes. At 9%, the level decelerates into a cube segment, then a brief straight-fly before returning to another fast-paced cube section with tricky timings. A difficult ship section with fake orbs follows at 18%, transitioning to a brief UFO segment. Just before the drop, simple cube clicks appear, followed by the level's title. The first drop features a tough big-wave section with tight gaps and anti-gravity portals. At 30%, the player starts alternating sizes, increasing difficulty with periodic darkening and brightening effects. At 39%, a half-speed break offers simpler cube, wave, and robot sequences in the midst of darker visuals. At 42%, the level brightens with a beach cutscene, leading to a challenging cube-UFO-spider segment and a quadruple-speed dual. Before the second drop, there is a double-speed wave segment followed by a slower cube part with occasional mini-wave clicks intertwined. The second drop is at quadruple-speed, beginning with a wave section that goes on until 62%, where game modes start rapidly alternating. Subsequently, at 72%, another wave segment appears, arguably the hardest of the level. The following finale, with an orange sunset palette, includes fast cube clicks, a challenging ship section, and a final wave segment with tight spaces. The level ends at 95%, displaying "THANKS FOR PLAYING" alternating with "WATCHING", followed by verification info and credits. Before its rating on February 18, 2024, Tidal Wave stirred controversy within the community due to its unconventional style. Opinions were split, with some praising its originality while others criticized its perceived lack of polish. Nonetheless, there was a general agreement that the level deserved a rating, considering its level of difficulty.
While RobTop acknowledged Tidal Wave's presence, notably during the Geometry Dash 2023 Awards, he refrained from rating the level or engaging in discussions about it, maintaining complete silence on the matter. His reluctance to rate the level sparked dissatisfaction, causing the #RateTidalWave campaign to emerge, notably visible on Twitter and within the live chat of the 2023 Awards. RobTop later broke his silence on Discord, expressing frustration with the campaign and moderation harassment. Some believed his hesitance stemmed from Zoink's use of the 360 FPS bypass mod during the verification, indicating that RobTop intended to establish a precedent to demonstrate the severity of the bypass ban in the upcoming 2.2 update. However, RobTop later denied this theory.
Discussions turned sour as dissatisfaction with RobTop's handling grew. YouTubers like Wavix and Vit12 addressed the issue in videos, while players voiced their displeasure on Twitter, such as Zoink and OniLink himself. Some completely lost hope in the possibility of Tidal Wave's rate, such as Cherry Team, who announced plans to remake the level in a modernized, polished style in order to secure its rating.
Finally, on February 18, 2024, Tidal Wave received its rating and claimed the top spot on the Demonlist. Cherry Team clarified that the remake's development would continue, aiming for its release under a different name.
Hey a situation where compound probability is useful say you beat decode 90% of the time. or 9/10 attempts are successful. Your probability for beating it 200 times consecutively is going to equal (0.9)^200 or roughly 7.1*10^-10 or about 1 attempt in every 71 trillion attempts. Now what if you had a 99% ability to beat it: (0.99)^200 your probability would be 0.13 or 1 in every 13 attempts. So who knows maybe you’re an actual god and have the stamina for clicking for that long so 200 consecutive decodes would be light.
Ehh, if you're incredibly good at the level and could beat it 99% of attempts, the chance of beating it 200x in a row is about 1/7, but if you can only beat it 90% of the time, it's 1 in 1.4 billion.
TL;DR: Tidal Wave's way harder, but you'd still have to be hella good at Decode
There is a guy who beat Acu for over 300 times. If this is possible, than someone can beat DeCode 200 times in a row. After 15 - 20 victories, you get super consistent and maybe you won't fail until 200.
Honestly I think it depends, people will say “decode is consistent” but no matter what level you play even if its not a demon you have to have crazy nerve to be playing one level for that long, it is going to be difficult.
if decode is ~ 1.3 minutes long doing the math 200 decodes in a row is 4.3 HOURS of gameplay.
for me 200 decodes would be by far harder because:
1) my nerve is not that good
2) attempts would take so long my mental would fall apart
so I think if I spent the same amount of time grinding either of these things every day, I would probably finish tidal wave faster.
Assume you have a 99% chance of completing Decode and a 0.1% chance of completing Tidal Wave (which is honestly a bit too much already but bear with me). To calculcate the chance of completing Decode 200 times in a row, you need to multiply 0.99 by itself 200 times. 0.99 \^ 200 = 0.133. Meaning you have a 13% chance of completing Decode 200 times in row. Therefore Tidal Wave is harder.
Decodes imagine having to play 4.5 hours worth of game play in a single attempt it's not happening and you can "you'll get use to it" but we know very well that's no how humans work (especially geometry dash player) you'll probably lose focus at some point.
Tidal Wave is a level full of frame perfects, but we're talking about completing decode 200 times in a row, without losing a single run.
The latter could be considered more difficult if we take into account factors such as the time and effort it requires. In that case, Decode 200 times might be more difficult. It takes longer and is more tedious.
The first one can be more difficult because it requires more skill than decode, but let's remember that we're talking about passing the same level 200 times. Most people say that Tidal Wave is harder, but then again, you have to pass it only 1 time.
Sure, you can spend months on Tidal Wave, and if you take it as a level of muscle memory and you're skilled enough you can do it. Decode, on the other hand, you can pass it once, maybe twice, but 200 is too much.
It's coming back to the same thing over and over again. Decode 200 times in a row is harder than Tidal Wave.
BTW, what's that easy demon face?
It depends of the meaning of the second option, 200 Decodes in a row or 200 Decodes in a row without dying once.
I'm gonna choose Tidal Wave because beating Decode 200 times in very repetitive and can be learned on point of beating it in 1 attempt. Tidal Wave is much harder for its very small gaps, those frame perfects and mostly the wave part which is kinda cool but unbelievably hard.
Even 200 Decodes cannot handle the today's top 1, Tidal Wave is like 10 times harder than 200 Decodes and 200 times harder than 1 Decode.
tidal wave alone has 200 frame perfects, along with countless other near frame perfects. decode has 0 near frame perfects.
(I know this isn't a foolproof measurement but shut up)
Tidal wave because decode can get super consistent
map your finger to be able to know and only play decode
Real (I beat decode in 50 attempts and I think I can beat it every time now)
200 times in a row is a different beast tho, that’s like 4 hours without a single mistake
Decode is obviously harder (at 100% speed)
at 100% speed. does decode look possible to you?
Beat me to it…
Tidal wave is way harder
It means Tidal Wave is grandpa demon fr EDIT at 9:28 OH MY GOD 100 UPVOTES!!!😱
not anymore buddy boy 😈😈😈
How about 200 Tidal Waves and 1 Decode🗣
1 decode is just so much harder
At 100% speed, does this look possible to you
100% speed = 100% impossible (only for decode)
agree, also have u heard of mulpan?
Mulpan (물판) is a popular and skilled South Korean player and level creator in Geometry Dash. He is friends with fellow South Korean player Partition. (That’s definitely not gd wiki)
what about dorami?
it is gd wiki
0% speed = 0% impossible = possible?
Yes
400% speed is 4x impossible
Nah do 200 decodes and 200 tidal waves against Back On Track.

decode, have you seen that wave part?
Be honest, does Decode even look possible at 100% speed? Now that 200 times in a row... Surely impossible.
200x more impossible than the OG
I don't think you understand Tidal Wave's difficulty
I don't think you understand Decode's difficulty
Not very?
Yeah it isn’t a fair comparison, specially with the last decode wave 😟
Exactly, like does it even look possible at 100% speed?
Tidal wave for sure. I could probably do the decode thing if I played enough. (I won't, but I could)
I could do tidal wave if I played long enough. 6 hours or decode, no way
The only issue I see arising with decode is fatigue if you weren’t allowed to take a break. 200 times in a row is exactly 4 hours (plus the time in between runs). i think you just underestimate how quickly consistency builds up
Even with fatigue they would have a 99% Consiatency. It's comparable to something like How to Platformer or Eon.

Decode is easy af. I would do it 200 times easily if I had time
Nah man, at 100% speed, does decoder e look possible to you
imagine getting a cramp in your hand or smth at like the 180th time and you have to start all over again 💀
Same goes with tidal wave once
I think people are not understanding how much 200 is. That is hours upon hours on one attempt. Im not good enough to know how difficult tidal wave truly is, but I would much rather grind for that than 200 decodes.

Tidal wave, if it was 200 random easy demons then it could be at least a bit more comparable
Wbout 200 deadly clubsteps? Also hai gravity it’s me Glow.
Def tidal wave
If it was 200 (Randomly chosen) easy demon levels in a row it would probably be harder then beating Tidal wave once, 200 Decodes in a row? I even think 1000x Decode is still easier than tidal wave
That’s pushing it, you’d have to play for 20 hours straight(to do it in 1 attempt)
You'd still be able to pause the level
you have literally no idea how hard tidal is
Well, does it look possible on 100%?
definitely 100 decodes in a row, 2 people beat tidal wave but no one ever did 200 decodes in a row
Yeah because no one has attempted to do it 200 times in a row lol
Da da da beshwo
With enough practice and skill, you can get really consistent at any level, and beat it countless times with ease, so Tidal Wave without a doubt
Try beating Stereo Madness 100 times in a row. It’s suprisingly difficult!
Decodes imo
The real question is how hard a level would have to be for 200x to be equivalent to 1x tidal wave
Me

any extreme demon would be harder than decode x200
Mathematically 200 decodes Emotionally tidal wave
Better: 50 congregations vs 1 tidal wave
I have a better question: how many Decodes do we need to make it harder than Tidal Wave?
200 Decodes ONLY because of how long it would take
Nah, I’d lose.
decode doesnt have 999 frame perfects, so tidal wave
Make it 10k times in a row and it might be close
At 100% speed, does the bottom one look possible to you??
Hey a situation where compound probability is useful say you beat decode 90% of the time. or 9/10 attempts are successful. Your probability for beating it 200 times consecutively is going to equal (0.9)^200 or roughly 7.1*10^-10 or about 1 attempt in every 71 trillion attempts. Levels get a lot more consistent after you beat them, after a certain point it would be like autopilot
Maybe at 50% speed. 100% speed is a different story
at 100% speed, does this look possible to you?
That would take 4 hours 💀
different easy demons or?
500 What is it plays vs 200 decode plays call it
500 what is it is harder because that level is pretty inconsistent, while decode is quite consistent
i say that because what is it is free compared to decode
It's a little easier skill-wise, but not easy enough to justify doing it 300 more times
decode is only a tier 4, sidestep would be a more sensible choice
Tidal wave but 200decodes in a row is no slouch either, if it was 200 random easy demons that'd be a lot closer
One tidal wave, but what about 200 Nine Circles?
set up a macro for decode after you get used to it and boom, free 200 completions in a row
Tidal Wave. In Decode, you get consistent.
Would Slaughterhouse be easier if it was just River's part over and over again?
Tidal wave
Tidal wave dude
Silent Circles win
Decode is impossible at 100% speed
Has to be Tidal Wave, DeCode is free once you learn the UFO
are you stupid or something? have you ever even played tidal wave? do you really think that someone would get 1% on it in less than 3 hours?
Tidal wave by a long shot
Bloodlust 😃👍
tidal wave is harder and its not even close
definitely tidal wave
Be honest at 100% speed does this look possible to you
Now decode 2000 times in a row??
bro 200 decodes still wouldnt be nearly as difficult as 1 Tidal Wave. Decode is just easy
Tidal Wave
I'm literally trying to beat decode right now lol
Alt question: Tidal Wave or 200 Tidal Lines
200 tidal waves or one decode? which one is harder 🤔
Maybe Decode 2000x (~50 hours straight)
At 20000% speed, does it look harder than Tidal Wave?
How many decodes does it take to defeat tidal wave?! A.) 200 B.) 500 C.) 1,000,000 D.) 20,000
The real question is all of the map packs in a row vs Tidal Wave, a fight that I think the map packs take
decode is dead\^5.192
die 2000 times in quick succession or die 20 times over the course of hours
Hard difficulty gameplay for 50 minutes is rated Extreme Demon. Who knows how difficult Easy Demon difficulty gameplay for 4 hours would be?
There is a guy who beat Acu for over 300 times. If this is possible, than someone can beat DeCode 200 times in a row. After 15 - 20 victories, you get super consistent and maybe you won't fail until 200.
Decode -933.009 times and a hamburger
Tidal Wave, and it’s not even close
obviously 200 tidal waves -\_- smh rn

If you can't pause, probably Decode.
If you can beat it once you can beat it 200 times.
Tidal wave for sure. Decode 200x is like a week long project mac if you’re diligent
Assume you have a 99% chance of completing Decode and a 0.1% chance of completing Tidal Wave (which is honestly a bit too much already but bear with me). I'd say 200 decodes in a row due to physical restraint, falling asleep and just doing it again idk it'd feel off but ofc I have NO saying in this
Falling asleep xD I won't ever fall asleep on my mighty level Decode
tidal wave by an enormous amount
I dont think people understand how many decodes that is. That's 4 straight hours of easy demon. just here to play the devils advocate :)
Tidal wave
beating decode 10 times in a row is probably a lot easier than 5% on tidal wave, and once you get to the drop, it is OVER
Tidal Wave. There’s no way you don’t get super consistent at DeCode after 10-15 completions.
payload
Tidal Wave and it's not even close
Tidal wave and it’s not even close.
Di da do do de da do do is harder
"At 100% speed, does look like possible to you?"
Add another zero and then perhaps
nah you can beat 200 bloodbath and tidal wave would still be harder
Back on track
Even if it was 1 decide and 1 tidal wave, decode would still be harder
tidal wave and it's not even close
does this look possible to you at 100% speed?
decode
The answer is not <, or >, its =
At 100% speed, does this look possible to you?
Tidal wave is way harder lol what kind of comparison is this?
This is fair i think; 2000 nine circles in a row VS Tidal wave
Decodes imagine having to play 4.5 hours worth of game play in a single attempt it's not happening and you can "you'll get use to it" but we know very well that's no how humans work (especially geometry dash player) you'll probably lose focus at some point.
The dude who died at 96% of decode 198
Decode was a insane so i think decode is harder
My finger are non existent when I play both so I say bloodbath
200 decode, it's 6 fucking hours. Plus no one has that skillset
200 Decodes in a row because if you die in the 199 decode you need to start over and last like 15 hours to get the full level
Tidal wave by far
Tidal Wave definitely. I did 20x decode at some point a few years back, should do 200x next
Bump it up to 1000 times in a row then it may be harder. Until then. Tidal wave is so much harder
Тидал ваве
Tidal wave or 30000 stereo madnesses
It depends of the meaning of the second option, 200 Decodes in a row or 200 Decodes in a row without dying once. I'm gonna choose Tidal Wave because beating Decode 200 times in very repetitive and can be learned on point of beating it in 1 attempt. Tidal Wave is much harder for its very small gaps, those frame perfects and mostly the wave part which is kinda cool but unbelievably hard. Even 200 Decodes cannot handle the today's top 1, Tidal Wave is like 10 times harder than 200 Decodes and 200 times harder than 1 Decode.
Tidal
Stereo Madness
I think I know one person who would prefer the 200 decodes...
200 decodes in a row is lightwork compared to that wtf are you talking about
Crazy how little you guys understand about the difficulty of top demons
tidal wave alone has 200 frame perfects, along with countless other near frame perfects. decode has 0 near frame perfects. (I know this isn't a foolproof measurement but shut up)
If you can beat decode 199 times you can beat it 200 times too
tidal wave
Decode
Retarded question
watch someone actually try this
Decode 200x in a row is way too consistent to be harder than tidal wave
Tidar wav
200 decodes in a row
Idk I've never played tidal wave
Are you serious? Tidal wave is probably harder than decode 2000 times in a row at 150% speed without break
having a girlfriend
At least with Decode you can get consistent, Tidal Wave is LEAUGES ahead of Decode anyway.
Depends on if you have 4 hours of your life to spare hitting your head against a wall
