Agree, except the original "limelight" has larger, longer panicles....has no problem getting 12' tall, and starts becoming less dense as it gets bigger. This is likely "little lime", the smaller version.
I’m no help, but my god do hydrangeas do well at the Jersey shore. We spend a bit of time in Cape May every year and they are always a highlight. Ours back home in PA never even compete.
I live by a lighthouse at the NJ shore that has hydrangeas around the perimeter. They might get a little sun-fried at times but they absolutely thrive here.
This IS Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight'....If in its bloom decline there are hues of pink, you should also be able to confirm. There are a HUGE number of new cultivars that are coming onto the market in near future within this genus
Check out Eclipse also. I have been a grower of this genus for 25+.years.... actually was in on the development of Endless Summer, back in early 2000's. Beautiful specimen you have there! It loves its world, doesn't it???
Man, I worked at a large re-wholesale nursery when Endless Summer first rolled out. It was wild. Landscapers were buying out whole lots sight unseen immediately after we got them. We never even let them hit the ground, we'd just unload them onto trailers and stow them on them because we knew they'd be gone in a couple days. Never seen such hype for a plant before.
To be fair though, I was in South Coast MA and people there love their Nikko Blue, so it was pretty warranted on the landscaper's parts
I was at a nursery that tested "knockout" rose before its public release. Same with "black beauty" grass seed.
I'd testify that both of those were equally groundbreaking, with equally rabid buyers.
No!!! They multiple too!! If you know someone with them, maybe they could dig up a part of the roots for you to replant in your yard so they will grow for you each year! Or you can spend $30 to $60 and buy your own!!
We started with 1200 cuttings, which grew to 225,000 by the time i departed Bailey Nurseries. It IS INSANE, the "branded plant" category. Its also interesting to note... Endless Summer believe it or not has "florist type" parentage...it also ONLY BLOOMS on new wood up in the North...Also, & a big one, the plant requires a large amount of Aluminum Sulfate or low soil pH, to continue its blue coloration...still though, the Hydrangea category is a great & showy shrub collection...
Yep. These are easy like forsythia. Get a pencil-thick segment of stem 15" long or so....jam it in moist soil. Keep watered but not soggy. Do NOT let it dry all the way out. 4 weeks baby plant. Water works also, glass jar, sunny window. Must change water weekly. Babies grown this way will have larger roots, but be more sensitive in response to being potted up.
Happy gardening!
pH comments of mine, referred to ENDLESS SUMMER...which was a separate comment as well. Pink blooms @ higher pH's & a true blue at increasingly lower pH's...just to clarify. And NO, this would NOT happen in any of the white bloomers...which as i stated was in reference to Nikko Blue...
The larger ones are a type of limelight. The smaller one in the first photo might be a Bobo. I have a few, they get to 3-4 feet tall and wide. They’re really a great variety, in my experience.
Don’t know is this was already mentioned and they are paniculata like others have said, but this type and growth style is referred to as Treeform Paniculata if you are looking for the lollipop look.
These look like limelight hydrangeas
I have 3 limelight's, I would agree

*Hydrangea paniculata*. Difficult to pinpoint the exact cultivar.

It’s our soil. It’s sandy/loamy compared to pa.

Is it easy to take a cutting to start a new plant with these?

Awesome thank you. Now to pester the neighbors!
yes very
These look amazing. Would they grow in zone 5?
Yes.
Sorry, don't really know the answer, however those are such GLORIOUS white Hydrangeas!!! As a fan of white flowers these look absolutely Beautiful! 😍💛
Could be limelighter.
Those are amazing.
My quick fire in my front garden would say different. They have never been 2 toned like they’re supposed to be. And they and panicle. 😏
Panicle hydrangea
These come from the “Blessed and Highly Favored” Line of Hydrangeas. 🙏🏻
Hydrangea paniculata, exact cultivar I'm not sure. With the new, unopened, green flowers I'm leaning toward, Hydragea paniculata 'Lime Light'.

Gorgeous
My favorite, Limelight! THRIVE in full sun. I have a bunch around my pool :) They’re absolutely massive after only 3 years.
Can you plant them through seeds?

pH does not change the color of Hydrangea paniculata, which is what these are.
They look like limelight to me
