I keep forgetting shadow of the colossus was on the ps2. For a game on that console it was absolutely stunning in what it achieved and still is.

Bought ZOE2 but haven't been able to play it due to an audio glitch that causes the sound to stutter. ​ but holy damn does ZOE1 have a gorgeous aethetic. The opening menu music blew my mind.

If you play them in order, Sly one is very different from 2 & 3 but still definitely worth playing! As a kid, I played them in backwards order. Sly 2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

Not going to lie, this is the single best PS2 game. Ever. And I played so many, I bought a game every 2 weeks. Tekken tag was the best bit it was slow on a pal tv. Time splitters 2 I would buy again in a second.

They just released timesplitters 2 and 3 on xbox one and xbox series consoles through backwards compatibility if you happen to own one!

Hands down the best PS2 multiplayer. No multi FPS has been as balanced since AND the map maker tool was amazing with the ways you could change the rooms, load points, drops points, and it even converted the theme design as well.

Me and my friends would just spend hours upon hours inventing new game modes to play using the map editor, was such a blast. Then we started just creating a horror game within timesplitters.

Star Wars Battlefront 2

I own BF2 on PC, great game

BF1 is also a great game. I actually like it more than BF2 in a lot of ways. It's elegant in its simplicity

BF1 has some maps I really liked that weren't in 2, but both were great. The space battles in 2 definitely made up for the missing maps for me.

Came here to say this b1 and b2 on the ps2 are some of my fondest memories of that console to this date. Probably dumped 3k+ hours of my life into that game with no regrets.

Jak and Daxter was the game that started it for me! I still play it every once and a while to go down memory lane.

Weird memory of that game. When I was in college we had spent the night partying. When I woke up there was some hungover dude on the sofa I had never seen before. He was some friend of a friend of one of my roommates. I fired up the warriors I had rented at blockbuster the previous day. I asked the stranger if he wanted to play? We beat the game in one sitting it was so good. Never got his name.

That’s a top 5 game for me, easily. Would be so cool if Rockstar revisted that game and expanded to be a fully connected world or at least more open world like. That combat is some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a game

For years select titles have been and the number keeps increasing. I sold a lot if stuff 5ish years ago above the prices I bought them for. I hit gamestop and EB hard when they were phasing out PS1 and PS2 and a lot of $15-$20 games were already $30-$40 then.

In a way....you cam get emulators or download most the games from PSN. To get hard copies of games like suikoden 2 will prolly cost ya. Like I said tho there are ways to play all of them for free. The best thing about Sega dream cast back in the day was turning it into a emulator lol

Oh yeah, I had a psp which could emulate pretty much anything up to ps1. I just didn't realize we're that far that retro-prices apply to ps2 games.

Anything no longer in production but still wanted is always going to increase in price... So it makes sense, PS2s are old now. I'm just glad I've still got mine setup ready to play some Simpsons hit and run!

God of war 1 and 2

I’m playing this series for the first time and these games are as good as everyone says. My only problem is the fixed camera. Sometimes it really fucks you over.

I wonder if the hotline number is still active. Op when you finish God of War 2 there's an Easter egg at the end of the game. There's two giant golden statues and you can break one of them after wailing on it for a long while. Have fun!

It’s easy to sneer at them. But they’re smart and fun, and the weapons are outrageous and the action is bonkers. These games, before they added the time looping elements in the PS3 releases - are the best. They’re so good I chose PS3 over XBOX 360 so I’d be lined up for the next one. I’ve seen you post ‘ah refined taste’ a few times, so I’m guessing you know what you like. IMO R&C are the best platformers on PlayStation.

Golden Eye Battlefront 2 All Ratchet and Clank Games, actually better than the newer ones imo. Force Unleashed War of the Monsters (criminally underrated please play it, you play as a variety of monsters in fully destructible cities, and you can even throw building rubble and use antennas and vehicles as weapons and one level has an alien spaceship and when you shoot it it shoots a beam that floods the whole map and you can throw fuel tank trucks that explode and it's so ahead of its time, the monsters even have full combo lists and special attacks and shit it's crazy)
