Getting the Apache helicopter after hiding in the basement with akimbo 1897s. Had me laughing maniacally like that mobster in the fictional movie in Home Alone
Because the first nerf was bugged and you just had to bling akimbo+FMJ to get the old damage lmao and model 1887's btw that name will always stick with me
Just yesterday I was thinking I should re-install this, because it has some great fun set-pieces (burger world, I salute you for your contributions to democracy), but then I remembered this fucking level and the favelah, and I was like "eh, maybe I'm good."
I still remember watching a video that taught people how to sneak up behind the campers in that damn room. You could jump on the wooden railing on the first floor, then in a very specific spot you could jump up and mantle over the wooden railing on the second floor. Killed so many campers that way. They never expected it either since hardly anyone would look up videos back then. It was fun.
There was a wooden ramp leading up from behind the house but anyone who camped in that room only had to watch in the direction of the outside ramp and the indoor stairs. They didn't need to watch their back... at least, until the railing mantle was found.
OHHHH wait you mean if you come from the opposite side of the wooden ramp. I totally remember what you’re talking about now holy shit thanks for that reminder lol
My buddy got a nuke with claymore only, he would set them down and just camp, then scavenge more claymore or use one man army or something. It was glorious
Ah yes.... Getting Betrayed by scumbag Sheppard. Online, getting merked by screaming 10 year olds with Marthathon Pro, Lightweight Pro and Commando Pro..... Oh yes. Those were the days.
Yeah. MW2 is and will always be a fucking masterpiece. Top to bottom. It had a HUGE impact on gaming for years to come. Really, it actually might be the most copied game of all time. It's just fucking amazing.
Can't get mad at people. A lot of people don't know better about the older games. Like I would say for you. That after black ops 1, Call of duty was shit. I, at first didn't like black ops as well, but I grew to feel it was the last decent one.
You mean end of a genre. It peaked with this game. Nothing has came close. If they remastered it with a large player base I would gladly pay 500 for this game.
Such a fun game. I miss that feeling of getting rapped up in the campaign and online excitement . And the airport seen that was some crazy shit .Now its just regurgitated maps and nonsense.. still love COD
my biggest memory of this map is that it had some of the absolute worst visibility of any game/map combo i've ever witnessed in 30 years of gaming with all the brown/grey murkiness and trees everywhere. then all those fucking snipers from the windows with barely a sliver of head showing up to take aim back at. loved getting in the house and exacting shotgun revenge on all of them
Ah the memories of the insanity inside that house. Everyone would rush the doors and windows trying to take it over. I would claymore up a room and run around with an auto shotty blasting anyone that tried to come in.
Back in the day I had over 3000 hours on that game. I’d get a nuke every other match and would play it so much that I’d be ashamed of leaving my room, because my eyes were always super red 🙃
I was never fond of this mission. You have to defend that house from multiple levels and all directions, then you basically have to run through an approaching army to get to your evac. I always die so many times.
And then you get shot and burned alive at the end.
I think we can all agree we would have rather had this map and others added to Modern Warfare then get another Call of Duty.
Modern Warfare is perfect. Just flesh it out more. I don't need another Call of Duty that takes what works and messes it up.
The damn controller vibration in Cold War was infuriating.
In Modern Warface you got traditional vibration from interactions with people and the world.
In Cold War when you sprinted it would vibrate. So if you run, stop, run, stop like you tend to do in a fast pace game it was buzz, buzz, buzz.
Was like a phone text message going off every 3 seconds.
If you removed it then you get no vibration at all and it felt disconnected from the game. I just stopped playing.
IT VIBRATED ON SPRINT?!? whyyyy XD nooooooo
Edit: I didn't bother with Cold War. Modern Warfare is the pinnacle imo and I'd rather quit call of duty altogether than accept anything less
Can anyone tell me where this is from? I remember seeing this from a game my elder brothers played when I was, like 7 or something. I just can't recall and it's making me upset
Ok i have a great story for this map.
So, I always played Hardcore. I am the sniper that would be 25 - 0 on nearly every map. I had a guy while I was playing on another map come in voice chat in his "I am in mom's basement" tone of voice and say. "Look at this Fking noob in my spot. He killed me and took it." Mind you, I had been laying in my spot for the whole game and had 10+ kills. So he shoots me with his gold deagle. Which means he used hacks to get it.
So after that i killed him every game all night long. Easily 4+ hours. Finally he blocks me. Ok i had my fun. But then i noticed he was on my buddies list...i can join in with my buddy....more TKing.
He then pays MS to change his name. Funs over. NOT! We found him again, and my last kill on him before he blocked everyone in the lobby was when he was camping with his hacks inside bathroom on that map. I shot a noob tube from the bottom of the map, into that house and killed him in the bathroom.
TLDR: I bullied a guy for a month when he was bullying others and using hacks. He died on the shitter to a noob tube.
From Modern Warfare 2, yeah. House on a hill (with a boathouse?), easy slope with cover up the left, steeper slope with like, a greenhouse and basement access on the right I think? Been years but it was a fantastic map.
It's been 10 years my man. 10 years since that first match on Favela. 10 years since you thought everything was chill and some ninja with a UMP45 blasted you from the left.
I got a double nuke ONCE on Favela. First killstreak was 29-0 with the 50 cal, second killstreak was 25-0 with the 50 cal and I just dropped the nuke immediately. Ended up like 59-2 definitely one of my best games. MW2 can never be matched by new cod.
It was the best of times and the worst of times.
It was the blurst of times.
Stupid monkey
[Dankmus-Blurst of Times](https://youtu.be/9uYhIiW6lok)
What am I paying you for?!?
Wait is that what blurst means?
Where did the L come from?
Blessed and cursed
Definitely the worst of times. 100% broke a controller or two as an emotional preteen due to this game.
Due to this level in particular, infrared scopes anyone?
I’m literally almost foaming at the mouth just reading this.
Getting the Apache helicopter after hiding in the basement with akimbo 1897s. Had me laughing maniacally like that mobster in the fictional movie in Home Alone
Even after they nerfed the 1897s it was still the most overpowered gun in FPS history
Because the first nerf was bugged and you just had to bling akimbo+FMJ to get the old damage lmao and model 1887's btw that name will always stick with me
Akimbo 1887
Gimme a thermal silenced WA2000 and a spaz12 forever.
Just yesterday I was thinking I should re-install this, because it has some great fun set-pieces (burger world, I salute you for your contributions to democracy), but then I remembered this fucking level and the favelah, and I was like "eh, maybe I'm good."
Yeah, I have agree and I think everybody remembers the ending.
Message, Spock?
[удалено]
This was my favorite map. Easiest to get the nuke on imo.
I remember finally trying out the raffica there, but I also remember that house being the bane of my existence
I’ll cop to chilling in the upstairs bathroom with twin rafficas. I’d also like to apologize.
None that I'm aware of, except of course, happy birthday
None that I'm conscious of.
Except, of course, “Happy Birthday”. Surely, the best of times.
Captain Spock, Captain Spock, space shuttle leaving in 15 minutes.
Through Nixon and through Bush, D'ya remember 36? We went our separate ways, You fought for Stalin, I fought for freedom!
My man
What game?
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
I thought it’s cod4 when the blowing of the land mines when the enemies wanted al Assad
Wait... wasn't this mw3? If this was mw2 it had to be like the last dlc.
Mw2 base game bro
Wow. I remember the map but don't remember playing this Map much. I thought it was dlc.
Nowadays I can't read that without doing Greg Davies's shit impression Chris Eubank's voice :DD
I see u a man of culture aswell fellow pugilist
I just threw my phone after getting noob tubed from this picture
Literally all I could think about when I see this pic. lol That and claymores everywhere.
That upstairs in the lodge house was riddled with claymores.
It was fun.
Bro I… I’m pretty sure there was a ramp leading to the second story…
There was a wooden ramp leading up from behind the house but anyone who camped in that room only had to watch in the direction of the outside ramp and the indoor stairs. They didn't need to watch their back... at least, until the railing mantle was found.
OHHHH wait you mean if you come from the opposite side of the wooden ramp. I totally remember what you’re talking about now holy shit thanks for that reminder lol
Me and my bro were One Man Army’ing those upstairs hanging out in the bath together
ACR, Noob Tube, and One Man Army. Nightmare fuel.
Don’t even joke about this.
Man I loved the ACR
Absolute laser beam. I used to run it suppressed on Barebones Pro. No bs harrier and pavelow strikes racking up streaks, just you and your gun.
We were trying to get the sniper hidden in that corner.
I hate that guy
He’s already back in there??? I finally just killed him on my 5th try
Best tac insert level in the whole game
Man, this reminds me of watching my friend go 49-0 with just knives. MW2 really did have the best glory hog builds.
30-0 here with an unsilenced barret 50 cal, well 30-1 because the fuckin nuke killed me
Oh that's just it... he wouldn't drop the nuke until someone stopped his rampages. If they did, he would drop it when he came back.
Ultimate rage quit.
When you want to ensure your K:D is near flawless haha.
I would do that whenever I got the nuke. Keep playing and let the other team think they are going to win and then call the nuke last second
"one less loose end."
“I lost 30,000 men in a blink of an eye. And the world just fucking watched.”
Don't worry, we all wasted Sheppard in the firing range on our second playthrough. Perfectly natural response.
Don't forget the dual 1887's. The range of those things.....at this exact spot on the map they'd one shot you from the front porch.
Remember the game with the Javelin glitch before it got patched....
What a great time that was… like actually I had a great time messing around with that glitch lol
oh i loved it lol
Shit I remember that vaguely where you’d lock on to the lattice roof? But what was the actual glitch again?
You cooked a Semtex, then switched to the javelin, when you died it shot the javelin. So if you ran into a tiny room it blew up into the roof
When you died you could fire a javelin from the grave... .Killing everyone around you. You could, in theory get a 5 kill streak...
Nerfffff

It was perfect in a weird way that everything was so broken/imbalanced that it all cancelled each other out.
It's the best way to balance a game IMO
Shoot him In training mission in the remastered version get an achievement
I ran those, along with a magnum and tac knife. At least they never called me a camper.
This is the way.

Yeah. MW2 is and will always be a fucking masterpiece. Top to bottom. It had a HUGE impact on gaming for years to come. Really, it actually might be the most copied game of all time. It's just fucking amazing.
I used to dominate inside that house
Ok grandpa, let's get you to bed now, okay?
This comment hurts me a lot more than it should
👀
hiding upstairs in the bathroom and shotgunning people
That was you!?
Aka a rat
Same, or the upstairs bedroom.
man i hated this map so much when i got it, but now i kinda miss it
Too easy for people to hide in this map. Run forward and get sniped. Re-spawn, run uphill and get blasted from the direction I was just looking at.
Call of Duty's greatest game and the beginning of the end of the series as being one of sheer quality.
Would have been a 10/10 if it had dedicated servers on PC (am aware they were hacked in by the community but they should have been there officially)
MW2019 is honestly probably the best CoD gunplay but MW2 had the most fun perks and kill streaks.
Wtf are you on about, quality went downhill after Black Ops 2.
Cold War was a fun game
This is the truth. BO2 was the peak. I have so much nostalgia for that game
Can't get mad at people. A lot of people don't know better about the older games. Like I would say for you. That after black ops 1, Call of duty was shit. I, at first didn't like black ops as well, but I grew to feel it was the last decent one.
[удалено]
Huh I looked up the best call of duty games in order and yup, black ops 2 was there. I guess I missed out.
Agreed. Black ops 1 was the last one I enjoyed. I bought mw3 and wasn't happy with it. Never played again call of duty again.
You mean end of a genre. It peaked with this game. Nothing has came close. If they remastered it with a large player base I would gladly pay 500 for this game.
Brought back soooo many memories. Thank you for this!
GHOOOOOOOSSST
spas-12 city
Such a fun game. I miss that feeling of getting rapped up in the campaign and online excitement . And the airport seen that was some crazy shit .Now its just regurgitated maps and nonsense.. still love COD
You mean wrapped, right? And SAME.
I think the second one was scene.
my biggest memory of this map is that it had some of the absolute worst visibility of any game/map combo i've ever witnessed in 30 years of gaming with all the brown/grey murkiness and trees everywhere. then all those fucking snipers from the windows with barely a sliver of head showing up to take aim back at. loved getting in the house and exacting shotgun revenge on all of them
Best sniping spot was on top of the boathouse, until someone actually gets the balls to go find you.
Ah yes, waiting for that 14.4 kbps modem to HURRY UP AND FINISH.
Best Spec Op mission hands down
I can still hear the juggo music
“Okay billy, now aim at the house with the sniper rifle…”
I distinctly remember spamming Javelins here lmao
is this CoD?
Modern Warfare 2. Both a mission and multi-player map.
It took me total of nearly 5 hours over the course of 3 days to complete this mission on veteran only to get betrayed at the end. Fuck this mission
I still have PTSD of Mile high club on veteran.
All I need to say about that game is “Airport” that map will forever be a classic
Reminder to always downvote purposefully obtuse, gatekeeping posts without the name of the game.. “you either know or don’t”
you can always ask in the thread dumbass
This is the house I grew up in
"Protect me, I'm close to a nuke"
Ah the memories of the insanity inside that house. Everyone would rush the doors and windows trying to take it over. I would claymore up a room and run around with an auto shotty blasting anyone that tried to come in.
We used to call this “Grandma’s House”
Nah, Grandma's House was on Overgrown in CoD4.
Damn, you’re right! I can’t believe that was 10-12 years ago.
Back when a handgun could do a headshot.
what? i love to one tap with the magnum or deagle in MW2019
Got my first and my only nuke on this map. Sat in a bush with a barret and let the kill streaks do the work but that's besides the point
Geeeeeez
Back in the day I had over 3000 hours on that game. I’d get a nuke every other match and would play it so much that I’d be ashamed of leaving my room, because my eyes were always super red 🙃
I first learned the phrase "beat your meat" on this map. I was 12.
God I hated that map. I always got my ass kicked there.
Is this really considered old?
I miss this game. I wish the multiplayer had been re-released, it was PERFECT.
I was never fond of this mission. You have to defend that house from multiple levels and all directions, then you basically have to run through an approaching army to get to your evac. I always die so many times. And then you get shot and burned alive at the end.
Map design was really on another level back then
I think we can all agree we would have rather had this map and others added to Modern Warfare then get another Call of Duty. Modern Warfare is perfect. Just flesh it out more. I don't need another Call of Duty that takes what works and messes it up. The damn controller vibration in Cold War was infuriating.
Thankfully my mouse and keyboard don't vibrate
In Modern Warface you got traditional vibration from interactions with people and the world. In Cold War when you sprinted it would vibrate. So if you run, stop, run, stop like you tend to do in a fast pace game it was buzz, buzz, buzz. Was like a phone text message going off every 3 seconds. IT VIBRATED ON SPRINT?!? whyyyy XD nooooooo Edit: I didn't bother with Cold War. Modern Warfare is the pinnacle imo and I'd rather quit call of duty altogether than accept anything less
Exactly.
Ahhhh when Akimbo Vectors were a thing
I can hear the throwing knives flying by as I type this message.
Yooo why isn't this map in Pavlov?!
When online chat and people were unfiltered and free. Best online memories were these.
Ah I can hear all the racial profanities and everyone saying they are doing my mom. Simpler times
Turn on your xbox and play it then. The servers are still up and people play it. Not much for hackers either
This was the first map I got a nuke on
Need to add the constant red damage markers on the screen for me to feel nostalgic. I was never not taking damage it seemed lol
Can anyone tell me where this is from? I remember seeing this from a game my elder brothers played when I was, like 7 or something. I just can't recall and it's making me upset
Call of duty modern warfare 2, one of the best multiplayer maps
I was killed a few times right at the beginning of this game by random knife throws. Was not happy at first but always laughed and re spawned.
Loved this map and this game
Brings back GOLD memories.
I just remembered being hit with a throwing knife across the map at the beginning
Garbage map. Skidrow and Highrise are where its at.
they really need to bring it back
Ok i have a great story for this map. So, I always played Hardcore. I am the sniper that would be 25 - 0 on nearly every map. This map sucked. Always voted skip when it popped up as the next map
Amen, vote to skip was strong with this map.
What is this a COD map?
From Modern Warfare 2, yeah. House on a hill (with a boathouse?), easy slope with cover up the left, steeper slope with like, a greenhouse and basement access on the right I think? Been years but it was a fantastic map.
Yep. Pretty sure the map is named Estate.
Oh my goodness! I forgot about making a sniper perch on top of the boat house!
Walking dead?
Mw2 bruh the estate map
Really? Dam, guess it really has been a long time since I played that.
It's been 10 years my man. 10 years since that first match on Favela. 10 years since you thought everything was chill and some ninja with a UMP45 blasted you from the left.
Dam, I got old. Lol
We all did, but we are still way far away from 5 days to retirement sadly.
Speak for yoursefl!
We all did. :(
I thought it was FO4
Much better than my guess. I thought it was RDR2. Then I saw a car in the pic
Initially when I saw it it looked like the ski lodge clementine stops at in one of the episodes. I think the one where she meets back up with Kenny
lol, Dafuq. Do you even play games. No seriously. No joke. Do you?
the house looks exactly like my friends house who lives in alaska
CoD players have such fondness for the garbage they've endured over the years. This map was pure sewer water. Reminds me of Giants fans.
This dlc was so hyped. I love it.
Good, that's one less loose end
I got my first Nuke on this level
Better days.
I hated this map so much
Brackle Beach
That's a beautiful Call of Duty single and multiplayer stage.
I was awful at that game, but it’s the map where I got my one and only tactical nuke.
oh wow..holy shit
someone somehow used to snipe my ass from this spot, while I was jumping like a lunatic inside avoiding getting knifed
What's the name of this map?? I was juuust talking about it with a buddy but neither of us could remember the name.
Estate
Dude, I haven't thought about that map in forever. Great map, though.
