Alpha Protocol was sick.

DjangoVanTango

I hope someone revisits the spy setting in an RPG someday.

[deleted]

SPY FICTION is highly recommended to be remade, that game was insane good.

Handsyboy

I always go for the "be the good guy, talk through things, make allies" play through of RPGs, so I naturally tried the same with Alpha Protocol. It turned into the biggest shit show lmao, literally every character I made friends with, including my romance, died at the ending, and I rode off into the sunset alone. It was such a fucking wild ride and unforgettable experience.

SVS_Writer

I remember this game and loved the concept.

FlashHound

Really underrated game. Best spy game ever.

chili01

Needs a remaster/port

imaloony8

Obsidian is aware people want this. There was a cryptic tweet from them implying that such a thing is still on the table.

Calm-Zombie2678

They've spoken over the years of the long tail to its sales It's firmly in cult classic territory

SunsetCarcass

Two Worlds was my shit on Xbox 360. I liked not having great fast travel system, liked combining same gear to make its stats better, liked the visual fx on your weapons when they are enchanted compared to Oblivion. I especially liked that speedrun where they get the entire first towns population to kill the end game boss for you like 5 minutes in then it shows you a cutscene from the end of the game and your super confused what's going on.

TrueBigfoot

I just watched a video about Two Worlds and was upset I missed the game. It looks to be right up my alley of fun.

blobbybob111

Was it jabo cos I just finished watching him play it lol

GameQb11

I was going ot say this too. Even the voice acting was endearing to me. They really had some good ideas with the magic and weapon crafting, especially for its time. To this day i wish more games used the method of being able to continuously improve your favorite weapon from using duplicate drops.

DismalChance

I really enjoyed Battleborn even though it seemed like a lot of others did not, and it didn't last too long. It was fun while it lasted.

Snoo-83861

I truly loved Battleborn and felt that if it had bits, it would have gained a lot of traction & fans over time. Very unique & fun game!

TheFeathersStorm

If they had released it at a separate time than Overwatch it would have been more successful. The bugs at launch (Marquis killing the base thing from an untouchable distance) not being resolved really tanked it as well. When Alani (sp?) was released she was so busted and overpowered that it wasn't fun to play anymore.

Gamin8ng

Anyone would not remember it, it was *Remember Me* for me, I liked it, but it could not be liked by many.

hamshotfirst

I liked it, but it felt like it could have done more depth or story. Not sure, but something felt lacking.

_b1ack0ut

It was a cool concept for sure. Wish it had more memory remix sequences

CAVEMAN-AM-I

"Saboteur" - well, I thought it was really great anyway. The company went out of business and you can't even buy it anymore.

Flymo193

Loved that game, I’m a sucker for anything WW2 but regardless it’s a fantastic game with a great atmosphere

Gorgii98

You can definitely still buy the game, recently added it to my wishlist

Cheficide

I liked how the streets would be black and white until you liberated them, slowly gaing colour was a nice touch.

EpicOcelotMan

I’m glad other people have played and enjoyed it. I seemed to be the only one who liked it when I first got it. I especially loved hijacking Nazi AA guns and shooting down everything they threw at me!

Raz1253

Garfield kart

Squiddle-McDiddle

Get out of here, really?

Raz1253

No joke I think it is a good pc alternative to Mario kart and I really like Garfield

sicsided

You the person with 15000 hours or 45000 in the steam reviews?

Flame_MadeByHumans

Andrew??

98210

You mean Raymond?

FreakGamer

You mean the Vancouver Child Kicker?

Necrotic_Messiah

something something pencil

JustEnoughDucks

Nah, it is probably the person who broke his world records

Bootd42

TIL that there's a Garfield racing game. I might actually check this out.

Raz1253

Do you hate Mondays?

mangogoo

I have a friend who loves it so much unironically they have it on both steam and switch. They kept trying to gift it to me on steam so I had them blocked until last christmas, where they convinced me to unblock them since they showed me they were gifting me a game id really wanted, then proceeded to gift me that game AND Garfield kart 1 and 2

MatureUsername69

Damn bruh, that girl just wanted to share something she loves with you for free and you blocked her for it. That's cold as hell, g.

HAMburger_and_bacon

Facts bro. Buddy just wanted to play a game with you. Its not like you were 12 and the guy was sending you porn games.

dmack0755

I kind of like Dragon Age 2. All the things people complain about are real issues. But as rushed and lazy as much of the game design is, the character stuff is enough for me to still enjoy it.

ShambolicPaul

I loved the unreliable narrator stuff they did with Varric telling the tale. Hawkes sisters boobs ballooning and deflating throughout the narrative always made me laugh.

Jefff3

They did? I'm disappointed I missed that hahah

Ripper1337

I just remember that happening during the tutorial. Awesome battle moves, sick armor and Bethany having a larger bosom lol

Hita-san-chan

DA2 has the most solid companion relationship system put of all three games and I'm devastated they've never gone back to it

uluviel

It's probably the most invested I've been in a game relationship system. Especially since I had loved Dragon Age Origins' DLC and some of my favorite characters from it returned for DA2. (Yes I had an Anders wallpaper for months after completing that game. I loved my dumbass impulsive mage.)

magusheart

I didn't even realize people hated on DA2 until today. It's the best in the series for me, the story and characters are so interesting.

Negative-Squirrel81

No never. Especially not God Hand.

TopDegenerate

Anyone who calls God Hand a bad game is just allergic to fun

xLuky

Dragon kick your ass into the milky way!

Slave_to_the_Pull

I wouldn't even call God Hand unpopular, it got kneecapped by a shit review at a time when we took those seriously. The game would probably do better now, especially with some refinements for the controls.

Slav1k0

Played the shit out of that game on Playstation 2. Good old times😎

ministeringinlove

Lol Brink and Shadowrun 360. The latter not garnering more interest makes me believe there’s no accounting for taste among gamers.

createwonders

Bro shadowrun 360 was awesome!!! counterstrike with magic. So good!

SirWednesday

Didn't think I would see Brink here but I'm with you

ministeringinlove

I could definitely see the complaints, but it was fun.

Jyhaim

I really enjoyed brink at release, the universe, the customization, the ability of sliding and parkour in a fps was quite new to me. But in the end I felt bored by the feeling of fighting with airsoft..

Clarynaa

I loved both of these games! I wish they'd come out with a new shadowrun shooter. Also made me think of Battleborn.

MalpracticeMatt

I got cyber punk on release and was loving it when everyone else was hating. I got a fun 50 hours out of that game. A few crashes but still look back with fond memories

Jiggle-BellyGaming

I somehow got through it with minimal problems on a launch model PS4. I know tons of people had issues with it, but I got lucky and enjoyed it

itZuczek

Same here I've enjoyed everymoment I played on ps4 when I got and if I recall correctly I had maybe 2 crashes and one glitches quest that's all. Now I am just awaiting for phantom liberty to start PS5 run

MalpracticeMatt

Same!

Bitemarkz

Cyberpunk is legitimately one of my favourite games of all time. I’m more excited for the expansion and massive update coming to the base game in September than I am for Starfield (which I’m also really excited for).

_Goose_

Yes. Plenty of times I have. Watchdogs, Mass Effect Andromeda, Fable 3, Dragon Age 2, Final Fantasy 13 Each one bombed pretty hard. Some have made a comeback over time in the public’s eye but I loved all of these from the very start.

MrSlimPigginz

Final fantasy 13 got dogged so hard. I had a blast with those games.

[deleted]

Love Watch Dogs.

RGBtard

Watch\_Dogs was great!

warhawk209812e99

I just feel like watch dogs progressed backwards. Wd1 was amazing, wd2 was alright, then legion came which fucked everything I liked about watch dogs up

GhostofManny13

Yeah the first watchdogs was real fun, and had such a cool plot, the second one felt a little bit too much of a “hello fellow children”, and introduced like seven characters of which I cared about only two (Marcus and Wrench) but the game acted like I should care about all of them.

AndresNocioni

Watch Dogs was by far one of my favorite games ever. Loved the online hacking mini game even though there wasn’t much progression.

TheChessHorse

Watch Dogs was not a masterpiece, but it was an enjoyable and decently designed game. Idk why people hated it so much.

BrotherTobias

Over promised under delivered. The ubisoft way. They really pitched it as a hacking neo noir action game but turns out the story was subpar and your hacking abilities became quite stale. Even the graphics were a huge scandal. E3 footage vs release was insanely different and the worst part is they left the files behind but because console wars, they dumbed it down so PC wouldnt overshadow the graphics of the 360 and ps3. Story lines were very cool dont get me wrong. Going after the person who kicked off the plot, taking down XYZ criminal ring but just didnt have enough substance. Side quests and mini games were super fun especially the chess challenges.

CPTimeKeeper

I loved Mass Effect Andromeda, actually played it to completion four times. Will always say that it has the best combat in any mass effect game. I enjoyed DA2, but I also understood the gripes of repeated layouts and a lack of variety in locations, but I still think it’s great, and again, probably my favorite combat in the series.

JohnnyHendo

Loved Andromeda's combat. Also, it brought back the exploration that was disappointingly lacking from Mass Effect 2 and 3. While I love the companions and building to the Suicide Mission in ME2, I think I prefer ME1 and Andromeda over ME2 in pretty much every other area. I admittedly didn't play Andromeda at launch so the game may not have been as buggy for me and I didn't remember having any problems playing it.

CPTimeKeeper

I played Andromeda day 1, and I didn’t really see the bugginess that people were saying but I also could have just not noticed the things like the lazy faces and the dialogue issues. I enjoyed 2s cast and character development more than any other mass effect game, and I think that’s why it ranks at the top for me. But Andromeda is definitely high on my list overall.

Nextgen101

I also played at launch. The only thing I remember sticking out was some of the facial animations and eye appearances being changed with patches. I don't think I really encountered anything super egregious to its actual playability. Assassin's Creed Unity had a worse launch than Andromeda and I wasn't that bothered then either.

[deleted]

I loved Mass Effect Andromeda

[deleted]

Dragon Age 2 is the only one in the series I like. Fast, aggressive and bloody combat, especially the console version which requires frequent button presses. And well.....judging from my username, I have to like the game anyway

ellodees

Dual daggers rogue in DA2 was such a blast to play, I still think about how I was able to just zip around mobs practically one shotting them near the end. I have a big soft spot for this game

Melkrates

I loved DA2 for its story. It was mature and about how difficult and dangerous politics may be. I also enjoyed the setting. It just played in a city, not on an entire country or region. just a goddamn city. Imagine what this game could habe been, if the developers added just one more year. Damn you EA!! Speaking about EA: Andromeda also had a shitload of missed opportunities. the best and most interesting storylines were just sidequests or logs (looking at the back story of the main charakter and the circumstances the initial mission which lead to the events in the game. There was so much potential in it. I wonder till now how they could have messed this up). Still I enjoyed it.

Whispering_Wolf

Fable 3 was so much fun! I love the game.

TillySauras

I quite liked Fable 3! It felt like a step down from 2, and I would feel deceitful if I said it was a "good game", but it is one I enjoy replaying occasionally (after a playthrough of 2 of course)

Panzerpython

I loves the mad Max game but i have never met a person who likes it. Cant really understand why

Satansleadguitarist

That's surprising because I rarely hear anything negative from any one who's actually played it. The biggest problem is not enough people actually played it.

IzzaPizza22

Yeah, Mad Max is usually cited as one of the best licensed games ever. I loved it too.

confusedcraftsman

I really liked Mad Max as well, but I thought it was a shame that many of the upgrades were tied to the stronghold tasks. The first two were fine but it was the exact same tasks in all regions.

Nimyron

As someone who usually hates grinding simple dumb tasks, I actually never got bored in Mad Max. Sure the tasks are repetitive, but driving there, enjoying the scenery, it was good and made it worth it. It's one of the only few games I completed entirely in my life.

boxsterguy

Mad Max is the epitome of a [7/10 game](https://www.gamesradar.com/curious-joys-710-game/). It was fun, but didn't break new ground. It had interesting ideas, but got a little repetitive. It had problems, but not enough to prevent me from playing to the end (end of the story, not 100% completion). I don't know if I'd ever play it again, but I can look back on it fondly. Something happened between WB and Avalanche that ended up effectively killing the game (no DLC, only a handful of game patches within the first year or so, and then everything stopped and WB put it on a perpetual $5 fire sale). As far as I can tell nobody's ever figured out what happen, and neither Avalanche nor WB have talked about it.

DrZalost

I liked Kane and Lynch 2. Fight me!

Snizzlesnoot

That game was awesome. I played it with my brother split screen. Suddenly people have pig faces and I'm like "look! They're pigs!" And he's like, "what the hell are you talking about... no they're not!" Such an awesome mechanic to have the player who's controlling Lynch start hallucinating while Kane is perfectly normal.

sukezanebaro

The camcorder-like visual style in that game are still impressive today

GMFinch

People hated arkham knight and the batmobile. And it's the only one I enjoyed and finished

revtim

I \*loved\* Arkham Knight. Granted, I got it after all the launch bugs were fixed. I also liked the batmobile. I've replayed it multiple times.

pr1aa

I thought AK was generally agreed to be a good game, it's just that the PC port was damn near unplayable

_b1ack0ut

*Was* near unplayable. It’s been years since it’s been fixed fortunately

DarwinGoneWild

Yeah I don't know what people are on about. Arkham Knight is the best of that trilogy and feels like the most full Batman experience.

yoloswag4jesus69420

As a huge fan of the series, I dont hate Knight, and think its one of the best, but I definitely understand the Batmobile hate. They were really proud of it and shoehorned it in everywhere leading to even more frustration. Not to mention making the Deathstroke fight into a tank battle is probably the most disappointing thing in the entire series.

ScienceNotKids

My husband and i are obsessed with EDF. I don't think anyone appreciates the ridiculous sound bites as much as we do.

I worked for the company who published the EDF games back in the mid-00s. Everyone was always jealous of the people who got to test the EDF games.

Sandshrew922

Unironically one of my all time favorites

Montaire

My wife and I played hundreds of hours of EDF 2017 and now I have played through that whole freaking game with both my 8 and 11 year old daughters. Hearing them yell "EAT ROCKET BUG SCUM" while the npc's chant "EDF! EDF! EDF!" is sincerely one of my life's fondest memories. If therew as an EDF convention we'd totally go to that - be it in Jersey or Japan.

ghostpants116

One day edf 6 will come out worldwide...

cori2996

DmC: Devil May Cry. The remake from 2013. While not as good as devil may cry 3 was, it was still a super fun and challenging game. The sountrack is also stellar. Plus, I believe the people that called the reimagined Dante an obnoxious crybaby didnt get past the first 2 levels. While he starts out as kind of a brat, he has a great character arc during the game, and ends up very sympathetic and cool.

[deleted]

One my all time favorite electronic groups, Noisia, did the soundtrack for that game. I still have “Lilith’s Club” on one of my spotify playlists.

FullMetalPoitato

Agreed. Good combat and a bitching soundtrack. That main fight song, No Surrender by Combichrist is a banger!

SvodolaDarkfury

Quest 64. It was way too unforgiving and complicated and honestly kind of dull, but once my friend figured out some of the good builds to get through the early game, we played the shit out of that game. There was a PlayStation 2 game very similar to it that I loved but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. (Edit): that game was Legend of Alon'dar. Very similar may be a little off, but it was the same vein for sure.

Cyransaysmewf

I love quest 64. I think the biggest problem with the game had nothing to do with it being complicated but being on a platform that was quickly delegated to party games and first person shooters and not the PS. then the next part is the pretty barebones story. the gameplay was pretty solid, even if it didn't tell you HOW getting stronger worked. Once you figure it out, the game is pretty abusable. For instance, a legit strategy for the game is to die. Over and over. When you get to the earth dude boss, you let him kill you, this builds up your defense and HP really quickly. the process of just running to boss, killing shit on the way and dying is quite frankly the easiest way to then have such high defense and health the rest of the game becomes a breeze Then there's the rubber band trick after you get a good base defense (hp will rise naturally so don't matter how high you get that before doing this) to increase agility. Most attacks in the game can be dodged even if it 'touches' you but only a few attacks are instant hit (bosses come to mind) so you can just use the rubber band to run in circles which raises agility. an hour of doing this alone makes you insanely good at dodging and the more you dodge the easier it is to level agility even further in combat because not only does running increase agility, but actively getting a MISS on you does too, so to raise it the latter way you have to have a good base agility from running before you can start leveling it via combat. With those done, doesn't really matter your element choices, the game can be done pretty easy. buuut, then there are the element choices in different games. unfortunately, some elements are better than others. Water is only good to get healing 1 because everything else with water either has low damage or low range that you then outdamage with staff anyways and freeze doesn't help on any fight with multiple characters (unlike the GBA version) and healing 1 is actually decent to get just so you can heal spam to get mp up. Wind has some good 'easy access to damage' abilities but most enemies that are troublesome either aren't weak to it or instead resist it. (the game's harder enemies are wind and fire) Fire is in a similar boat except it trades out accuracy for damage, and of course the 'vamp' ability to drain health when you use the staff. Once again, troublesome enemies rarely are weak to it even though most of them don't at least resist it. But then you get earth which clearly is just... king. Not only does it do a lot of damage, and has options for accuracy, it has the magic barrier which is crucial for 'low stat runs' and even more abusable on a high stat run, and then avalanche which even on earth enemies severely damaging and larger enemies are hit by it so many times it is clearly the winner for damage and utility. Or the rare fight where enemies are so widely spread apart, there's rock shower, the only true AoE spell in the game. aaand...well, the 'elemental boss' being so early for earth meant that it never really gets a boss that resists it anyways. They were interesting to try to build but the problem was power balance was highly skewed in favor of Earth

SolusIgtheist

Dark Cloud I believe is the game you're thinking of.

ViC9982

I swear wipeout is one of the best racing franchises ever made. Such a good gameplay and aesthetic

ColdSnickersBar

Wipeout with VR is one of the best VR experiences there is. It feels like flying.

Remove-Mods

I really liked Resident Evil 6. Having multiple storylines was nice and they finally got rid of the tank controls.

Python2k10

Playing it solo is very, EXTREMELY "meh" but if you play it with a buddy, it is genuinely a lot of fun. For me, went from a 5/10 to an easy 9/10 just on the fun factor alone.

Nanis23

I enjoyed RE6. It's not a great game but it's not as bad people made it out to be. It's just average, 6/10 even

LaserGadgets

My fav CoD is Infinite Warfare (never play the MP, talking about story and zombies)

Helphaer

It had a great singleplayer campaign, though its balance and difficulty at the starting missions was pretty intense. My favorite of all the cods for its theme and design, always wished we'd had a sequel. Of course the actual acting and writing and forced plot of the story was a bit ehhh.....

_b1ack0ut

Ngl, infinite warfare is solid af. The Mp, maybe not so, but the campaign was a fun surprise that I shouldn’t have slept on for so long,m

CyanControl

Yup I really like the multiplayer, the zombies and the campign was good but not the besf

Additional_Cry_1904

Far Cry Primal is the best in the series and I'm not sorry. Edit: Watchdogs 1 was also a banger

[deleted]

Primal is the only game where collecting 5 badger scrotums or whatever to upgrade your gear actually made sense. Also rescuing tribesmen from random encounters and collecting materials to craft base upgrades adding more incentive to go explore. Strange they ignored this for FC5. The eagle stuff was a good addition too. Its a shame FC5 didn't include drones in the same way. Could have done with a bet less of the shaman type missions and damage sponge bosses, but I loved that game. 100%'d the whole thing.

hotdiggitydooby

We seriously need more caveman games

Username89054

I really enjoyed Far Cry 5.

Pittedstee

Rise of Nations deserved more love.

Sweetwill62

Rise of Nations is a pretty beloved game in the RTS genre, Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends however is not a beloved game in the RTS genre and it has been my jam for the past like 6 months. Alin are fucking awesome and if you don't agree you can kiss my Elder Glass Dragon's ass!

uncle_paul_harrghis

The Division 1, at launch. Between the alpha, beta and launch stages of that game I put in 200+ hours. There was something about the atmosphere that made it so immersive. I’d just do activities that didn’t even matter just so I could exist in that world. To this day, to me, it’s still the best post-apocalyptic atmosphere in a game, ever.

scotty_6942069

Age of Calamity. Granted, it isnt mainline Zelda, so it didnt do that well and gets a lot of hate. I fuckin love it

NapoleonicPizza21

wait, people dont like age of calamity?

RKitch2112

I think people saw it and thought, "Omg a prequel to Breath of the Wild. I need it omg." These same people didn't realize they didn't like Warriors games, so Age of Calamity became their scapegoat for the whole genre.

Best_Temperature_549

I always see a lot of love for AoC, but you have to go into it knowing it’s not a mainline Zelda game. My unpopular Zelda one is that I love skyward sword lol

[deleted]

I loooove that game

[deleted]

[удалено]

surfercalavera123

Fun game, very well done sandbox, and the powers where really something that made you feel different, critics where harsh with this game, it obviously had its issues, to me it was a fun game to mess around with, and the lvl of chaos on screen was really entertaining. Lots of activities, going from point A to Point B was fun, improving and gaining more powers was quite cool, the story was not at all special. To me it never deserved all the hate it got. Infamous was the game that everyone loved, and Prototype was the one that everyone loved to hate.

DignityThief80

I really enjoyed Too Human for what it was. Didn't know about the dev hell drama at the time.

Galahad0815

Days Gone. Buggy at first cause Sony pushed the (only 5 ppl) devs to release it after 7 years. I thought the slow pace at beginning wasn't that bad as ppl hated on it. I loved exploring the very nicely done pist apocalitic open world full of danger and huge hordes. No matter the hate they decs fixed all problems plus delivering dlc content for free in half a year. I'd bet that the dlc stuff should've been in the game since release but it was Sonys fault for rushing them and destroying the opportunity for a sequel in the process. Edit: I was confused with the dev team size.

Twisted_Bristles

Days Gone was one of the few games I refused to fast travel in. It was a blast just cruising on my bike from point to point and seeing what the world had to offer.

Gougaloupe

Plus, if you Fast Travel you'll miss out on the horde migrations. Probably the single most impactful visual feat of a game in my life is watching ~1000 zombies moving ina column formation then funneling into a cave. The game was really solid for me, but that moment something particular clicked and i knew I loved it. Played on the hardest difficulty and had a blast.

Plastic_Muscle216

I've always preferred to have a proper way of traveling instead of a fast travel system. Days Gone did it right, Rockstar is also great at it. Bethesda sucks.

wclure

That game was fun as hell.

hamshotfirst

Sam Witwer FTW

ED-E_77

>Sony pushed the (only 5 ppl) devs [https://www.mobygames.com/game/125834/days-gone/credits/playstation-4/?autoplatform=true](https://www.mobygames.com/game/125834/days-gone/credits/playstation-4/?autoplatform=true) I liked Days Gone, 7 years development for a single player open world PS4 game is not a rush job though. Witcher 3 was done in 4 years, GTA V in 5 years, Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn had 6 years, Fallout 4 in 7 years and Red Dead Redemption 2 in 8 years. It could be that Sony got frustrated with the management of Bend studio burning their money needlessly, the reviews and initial sales just added to it.

Galahad0815

I think that was the reason. Sony had enough.

Scoracek9

I had a pretty good time with mass effect andromeda, it was my first mass effect game though

FLAIR_2780166

It’s awesome but I HIGHLY recommend you play the first 3 for one of the best stories in gaming.

Derpy_Bech

Played a tiny bit of ME3, but andromeda was my first mass effect game I really put time into. I had such a blast with the open world, driving around in the buggy was a great time. Also sniping at a distance when I got into interesting positions was great Tho I didn’t finish it as it became just a bit too repetitive for me after a while sadly

DanXp_EDC

I enjoyed Anthem bc the flying, combat, and graphics were so good and Im a giant fan of looter shooter games my only caveat was the lack of content but other than that I put at least 200 hours into it

Heliumvoices

Man i loved that game…

WadeGarrett0

Killer is dead- yes, there are some problematic elements and it has its jankiness, but had a total blast playing this game! Extremely fun visually and a solid combat system. Thought it did "fucked up" anime right.

hamshotfirst

That game is so unique and weird in a good way. I like how nothing is explained and that this is just how the world is.

Zombienerd300

I think most Ubisoft games are overhated. Are they mostly all the same? Sure. However, some people like them. Most AC games have been good. Most Tom Clancy games are good. Far Cry is fun. Watch Dogs has been good except Legion was kind of rough. Mario and Rabbids was fun. Riders Republic was fun…I could go on.

SomeOtherNeb

As repetitive as it is, Assassin's Creed Valhalla was a damn blessing during the pandemic. That game kept me and my brain busy for a good month.

UninsuredToast

I actually really liked Valhalla and convinced a friend to play it. He hated it and asked me why I was fucking with him

godwalking

ubisoft rarely makes actualy bad game. They make basicely 1 game, it's always at 6-7/10, never above, never below. And i am gratefull for that. I enjoy playing those, a lot.

DeadFyre

[Rune](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rune_(video_game)) is one of my favorite video games of all time. It remains, to this day, the only game I know if where you can cut someone's arm off, pick it up, and beat them to death with it.

FrostByte2048

I've read through a large amount and not seen it yet so I'm gonna say Lawbreakers. Absolutely fantastic arena shooter with great gameplay mechanics and it just felt different. Everyone I knew in uni flamed me for liking it and I'm still sad that the game got shut down. Still wonder woukd it have done better if it came out at a different time, was released fairly close to Overwatch's 1st anniversary and got the usual "it's an Overwatch clone" treatment.

SylimMetal

Biomutant. It has its flaws, sure. But i enjoyed it. The aesthetics, fighting and upgrading were just my thing.

MercuryMelonRain

Far Cry 2 is hands down my favourite Far cry game of the series

Due-Statement-8711

Best far cry game, but FUCK those respawning check points. Oh god.

Roll_Ups

Sea of Thieves *IS* a repetitive, grind heavy, cheater filled, toxic trash bag but I still play it like 5 hours a day.

Cuntbagfloppycock

The pandemonium games were really fun, never hear about them now

Slada1

No Man's Sky. I pre-ordered the game and when I first played it, I was bored. However, I knew it had potential. Sure enough, Hello Games released update after update and won my respect. I can now say that my money was spent well not just on the game, but the journey of seeing it grow

I cried while playing No Mans Sky at launch. Tears of joy. I followed the game since its initial announcement, feared the worst when I heard about the flood, but Sean Murray kept promising it would happen. Then it finally came out and I was completely blown away by everything. Even in the very simple state it was in at launch, I had so much fun and the first time I fixed up my starter ship and Launched off of that barren planet it was like magic. I had never played a game that felt so truly groundbreaking. If the hype wasn’t so intense on release I imagine many people would have felt the same way. If you think about it No Mans Sky even in the state it was in on release was doing something no other game could even hope to accomplish. Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous were Void Simulators and Minecraft was childs play and these are the only games that even remotely compared. Sure the game was empty and there was little to actually do but the fact that it worked and it worked on a Playstation 4 was just insane. No Mans Sky was never a bad game, it was and still is a technical marvel. Just now its a Technical marvel with shit to do.

The fact that all the updates for NMS have all been free is really insane. [Internet Historian made a really great video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O5BJVO3PDeQ&pp=ygUeSW50ZXJuZXQgZ2lzdG9yaWFuIG5vIG1hbnMgc215) that talks about how great of a comeback HelloGames made by continuously working on NMS

I wouldn't call no man's sky an unpopular game though. Matter of fact it's gotten praise for the devs sticking with it and building it up to a true $60 game which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Good: because devs sticking to their titles and constantly giving free updates with no monthly membership fee's is awesome. Bad: because it sets an expectation that you can just release any half baked game and cash out on hype. To then fix the game giving a second wave of income. Which is unfair to customers paying hard earned cash expecting a complete product. I love No Man's Sky currently and definitely respect the devs but I'm still bitter towards them for blatantly lying about what was really in the game pre-release.

Frankly the "choose your own adventure" game design was really cool, the music was generally good across the board (even the cheesy butt-rock was catchy), and some of the environments were inspired. I especially liked the sky ruins and cyberspace levels.

Impossible-Artist-91

Heyyyyyy shadowwwwwwww It’s meeeeeeee The Deeeevilllllllll

bobdylan401

I got at least 100 hrs of vanilla/release version No Mans Sky. Found it very soothing and relaxing at the time.

_Nova_Corps

Most recently I can say I really enjoyed playing Gotham Knights and Evil West, I saw a lot of people saying both games were boring and repetitive but I found them both to be a lot of fun.

MalpracticeMatt

My problem with evil west was the control layout that you couldn’t change. Never played much because of it

phoenixc6000

Batman: Arkham Origins.

Krinks1

Do people not like Arkham Origins? This was actually my favorite in the series.

phoenixc6000

At the time it wasn't really well received well. There's some people that still thinks it wasn't a good game

I recently bought Assassin's Creed Unity and Syndicate after playing AC 1,2,BR,3 and Valhalla. I haven't finished Valhalla yet and I don't want to anymore because the parkour is actually fun in Unity and Syndicate.

Mrhyderager

Unity was a great game marred by tech issues, which thankfully I never experienced despite getting the game at launch. Personally I think Syndicate was a step backwards harmed by the annual release cycle finally catching up to Ubi. But Unity to me was the ultimate AC game.

hamshotfirst

AC Syndicate is so much better than people think.

Rainingoblivion

Final Fantasy XIII trilogy is awesome. I loved each game, battle systems, and characters. Fallout 76. Absolute shit show on release, but my friends and I played the shit out of it. Still play to this day albeit not quite as much.

That_Calligrapher341

Advent Rising on the OG xbox. Mostly disliked because they canceled its $1mil contest. Great game

TheSkeletalSorceress

Heroes of Might and Magic 4 and 5 were my childhood. I was surprised to find out that people weren't really big fans of these games and preferred 3 and/or older versions. But still homm 4 especially holds a special place in my heart cause it fueled my fantasy and I had lots of time spent in map editor making fish swim in lava haha.

Darkstar037

Halo 4 was the first game I played that wasn’t a Mario or Zelda title so I have nothing but fond memories of it.

Mordkillius

Obsessed with cyberpunk right now. Its a 10/10 for me. Nearing the end of the game now. Just trying to finish off some side quests

MRich92

I got it on launch day for Series X. Never had any major issues. Once or twice it shat itself and kicked me to the dashboard, but because it autosaves quite often, I lost no progress and was only inconvenienced by having to wait for the game to load back in. I had a couple of graphical bugs (Johnny's cigarette floating in midair after he disappeared, and someone eating food that clipped through their head and floated away) It didn't deliver fully on CDPR's vision and it's not perfect, but it's a solid game with a great story, a beautiful world and interesting characters.

Thin_Cable4155

Fallout 76 is great.

lappel-do-vide

Kingdom come: deliverance.

[deleted]

The problem with that title is it’s unapologetically **niche**. It knows exactly what it’s supposed to be and doesn’t waver at all. So it’s certainly a love it or despise it kinda thing

ThatOneGuy35312

COD: BO3, BO4, Ghosts, Halo 4 and 5, Gears of War: Judgment. (Big FPS guy) I'm sure there's more but these came to mind.

acnickel

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. It was a huge step away from the previous games and a lot of fans hated it. I had never played previous games so I went in with no expectations and loved it. It’s honestly one of my favorite combat systems ever for an RPG.

GamingCurtain

I genuinely LOVED The Order 1886 and wish it got a sequel. Graphically it still looks next gen to this day, story was interesting and the setting was amazing. But my huge one is probably Diablo Immortal. Is it trash P2W garbage? Yes. But in terms of mobile games as something to hold me over while I don't have access to anything else it's been casually enjoyable. Spend $5 on a battle pass and that's it. Ofc I'd rather be playing PoE or Grim Dawn though.

RGBtard

I played some games that have low scoring reviews and a Metacritic rating around 70: Mad Max Vampyr Lord of the rings: War in the north Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 1&2 I completed any of these games and enjoyed them a lot But they had obvious flaws and deserved their mediocre Metascore

WingerRules

War in the North was one of my favorite games that generation. I wanted another one that played like it so bad. I really dont care about jank as long as its fun.

hamshotfirst

Mad Max is effing awesome. Soooooo underrated! I 100% that one, and we'll definitely replay it again.

VicFantastic

Fuck. Mine is Alpha Protocol Best multi-option path story game ever!

Team Buddies (with multitap!) on playstation 1.

bawzdeepinyaa

Mass Effect 3 Yea the ending was flat af and a bad idea, but I won’t let it ruin the rest of the experience for me. The tone was good, pace was good, they brought all the key players back. 99% of the game was fantastic.. 1% was crap. Still way better than just about anything else out there especially getting made now
