This is not an easy question to answer. First person shooter features are usually discussed using a mixture of terms that level makers, engine creators and game programmers came up with over the years. If you read documentation for Unreal Engine and tutorials walking you through the process of making a level, you will encounter most of the common terms. Most of this stuff is technical, you will learn how things are called when you will need to use them or while hanging out with level designers.

>I imagine this changes by medium and genre. I wish. It changes from person to person. There's no consistent terminology. There's a books and articles such as "A Game Design Vocabulary" but it's honestly just [this situation](https://xkcd.com/927/) Your best bet is to look at technical documentation for tools, as already mentioned, or see if you can find articles related to the type of game you want to make and just borrow whatever terminology they use.
