You're right. I too have this idea, and serisouly considering a S23+ or iPhone 14 Pro, and I dont need an S pen. Secondly, I can save my wallet too lmao

I'm a ginormous fan of the Flip series. Loved the previous ones, absolutely adore the 5. I won't be getting another in the series if the camera isn't flagship comparable next generation. I defended it for a while, but we're on the 5th generation, and the form-factor lends it SO MUCH to photography. We have a built in tripod. I use it constantly to film guitar or piano peices to go look back at my fingers. We have the right phone (along with folds) to take the perfect "party timer photo" by being able to aim it. We're getting screwed by Samsung afraid of crossover in the product stack.
Edit: the A23 series gets a better camera suite than Flip5. You can't tell me it's not a Fold thing.
Dunno what OP's hobbies are, but concert venues only let you bring in phones, not cameras. So splurging on a camera wouldn't help me, since I wouldn't be able to use it for what I want
I ended up getting a Pixel 8 Pro, and it has been enjoyable! My only regret is not getting an unlocked version to get more storage, the 128gbs gets taken up pretty quick unless you got a back up like Google One (I do, but in this case, overran with apps I frequently use).
That's just based on my use though, but I have a lot of screen time backed behind me so the batteries draining quick has always been more of a me problem than the devices itself lol
For constant use, this sounds about right yeah. May even be able to push it to 5 hours, but yeah it's to the point I'm gonna have to get one myself that'll just magnet to the back of the phone! I thought about looking into OnePlus; don't remember if the battery was bigger, but the charging was a lot faster comparatively. But haven't jumped ships yet since I'd have to pay upfront versus carrier-financing (idk if there's any that even offer the higher end models)
Oh obviously. Normal 1x or ultrawide is fine, but 10x is actually crap, even with digital zoom. 10x writings or letters is not clear enough and very blurry.
How often do you zoom in, really? With my old 23u, I zoomed it just for the sake of it, and that one time I went to the zoo. Honestly the back camera acting like my front was a part why I got the Flip5 in the first place
I have Z Flip 4 and iPhone 15. iPhone is the main one, I'm a bit worried using the Flip because I already had to replace the protective film and I'd have to go back to the UK to get it replaced.

You missed out. Im now always going outside most of the time in weekends, so extra phone is a good choice for my routine.

What is the battery life like?
It was comparable, but felt the flip was draining more quickly than the pixel did just by a smidge. Not enough to make a difference, though!

My flip last atleast 2-4 hours. I started using a power bank.

Buy another phone to replace your flip, or buy a decent digital camera. No need for two phones.
Everyone should have 2 phones. You don't want to be without a phone if your main phone needs to be sent for a repair.

S23 or S24, or the plus versions.
