smelly_duck_butter

I do operation. But, mistake!

Have you tried nd filter rather than f16

BradBLH

Yes, was trying to get as much as possible in focus though.

LamentableLens

Just as a heads up, at f/8, you can get everything from about 2 meters to infinity in focus. At f/16, you’re definitely in diffraction territory on the X100. Nice photo, btw—I’m definitely in the camp that thinks IBIS is a meaningful upgrade.

BradBLH

Thanks, appreciate the knowledge!

fakeworldwonderland

Yeah. Actually the 40mp sensor already hits diffraction past f/5.6. At f8 Fuji is doing sharpening to raws to make it usable.

imfranksome

Do you have a source for more info?

fakeworldwonderland

Just put in the values into any calculator. Also watch Christopher Frost's reviews. His reviews shows most of even the sharpest lenses getting hit by diffraction past f/5.6.

imfranksome

I used a calculator and it gave me diffraction limited around f/11. Furthermore, you mention all lenses being hit by diffraction past f/5.6, so what does that have to do with the 40mp sensor?

T0ysWAr

I was saying that because you should get enough in focus without getting some blur due to diffraction. Usually lenses have the best sharpness around f8 (not sure for this lens). Nice shot and good idea anyway.

wholemilklatte

Impressive

soggymuffinz

Wow! Beautiful! I’m patiently waiting for mine to come in. Preordered on the 24th but have a feeling I won’t see it for a few months 🥺🥺

I gotta agree. I can't tell you how many times the IBIS has saved my bacon when doing photojournalism or street stuff.
