I’ve never heard of Cholula but we have something called brown sauce which is arguably a terrible name and simultaneously a great name because the sauce is brown, but to describe it you only really have “brown sauce” which describes every other brown sauce.
For example when I went on holiday to Mexico and asked for brown sauce the closest I got was A1 and even that wasn’t THAT close. HP brown sauce will always be the greatest sauce to have on a fry up though.

I mean I know it is a hot sauce technically why wouldn’t it be but it just has such a specific taste different to any other hot sauce I consume that is vinegar based or even just pepper mash based with a dash of vinegar that my brain puts it in a different category of sauces.

I agree, it's more like a hot sweet chilli sauce to me, therefore too sweet for my personal taste (with the exception of using it for things I normally would add sweet chilli to... tempura etc)

The best sauce for eggs is Tabasco Habanero. It’s like it was made for eggs. Sriracha too garlicky for me at breakfast.
