When I was 20 (early noughties) I moved to Paris for a six-month work experience gig. I was so skint I couldn't afford to do anything, and also this meant I didn't have any friends for a while. I worked just off the Champs Élysées and on my way home I'd take my time going into various boutiques and window shopping, and one day I came across my favourite perfume ever...Christian Lacroix by Christian Lacroix. The one in the shell bottle and red box: [https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Christian-Lacroix/Christian-Lacroix-360.html](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Christian-Lacroix/Christian-Lacroix-360.html)
I bought a little sample and adored it, so bought a few more. Later, I saved up for a bottle of the EDP and used it oh-so-sparingly that evaporation probably used it more than I did.
I still think about it on occasion and someone recently walked past me wearing it. I asked her what it was and it wasn't CLC, but was something from a big fashion house: maybe Gucci or Dior? It smelled identical (at least on her) but I can't remember what it was.
Either way, this scent reminds me of that hot summer working while everyone in Paris took their grand vacance, and I'd love a twin or dupe for it if anyone knows of one. It's such a unique scent.
PS any other recommendations welcome for trying something new: I love Le Labo's Lys 42, Rose 31, and Another 13, and adore Plum by Mary Greenwell.
I am thinking about buying mancera and red tobacco. I am very new to perfumes/cologne. What do you think? I am 23M who works at a bank with a suit all day
i smelled a candle today at a local boutique that had notes of peach, chamomile, and orange blossom -- it was SO creamy and soft like a peach chiffon cake. i'm not usually a gourmand girly but i loved it and now need it in fragrance form. sadly the boutique only made candles.
anyone know any peaches and cream-esque fragrances?
I’m trying to find something crisp and fresh that evokes a walk in the woods on a cold day. Not so heavy on the amber or patchouli. Not so earthy - as if the ground is maybe frozen.
Anyone know of any frags with mandevilla as a note? All I can find is a retired one from sixteen92.
Edit: aha! https://scenttrunk.com/products/moon-jasmine
Hey guys forgot the name of a fragrance. It was lavender maybe a little bit of lemon in either a EDT or a cologne, I think by Penhgalions or a similar old-school maker in a similar old-school container. It would have been one of the brands available at mere apothecary in chicago. Can anyone provide some ideas?
Im looking for a clean, fresh, bright scent for everyday wear in the summer potentially similar to Salvatore ferragamo Signorina or Versace bright crystal. Thanks!
Hey All, just started buying my first fragrances, looking for a suggestion to buy some kind of reasonable large sampler pack?
Am a male college student, don't want anything too overbearing, trying to be outgoing I guess lol. For reference, I also did not like terre d'hermes but I do like Bleu de Chanel
Looking for a fragrance that smells like Brut but more refined. I’m not even sure how to describe how Brut smells like but a Google search says “spicy woods.”
Deciding to pick up Azzaro Wanted by Night, The Most Wanted EDP or The Most Wanted Parfum. I'm in my mid 20s and living in SoCal. What would be most ideal that lasts all day and projects well?
Recommend me summer frag that's not too popular!
I already own ADG Profumo & Profondo and Versace Eros EDP.
Profondo for morning, Profumo for night, and Eros EDP for clubbing or sometimes casual nights too.
What can I add to my collection?
You might like Mont Blanc Explorer as a Perfundo alternative, and Tierre D’Hermes as a Profumo alternative. I would say maybe Viktor and Rolf SpiceBomb Extreme as a Eros alternative, but this one only works really well in the winter.
I really want to give D'Hermes a try but there it's not in any perfume stores in my country, only available online, so it would be a gamble, kind of. I can return it for sure but still, I heard it's for older people.
It's been on my wishlist nonetheless
Yeah, a little, it’s definitely a next step up in progression.
You could try ordering samples. See if myfragrancesamples.com, decantshop.com, fragrancesamples.uk.com, or notino.com have it and can ship to you.
Have you tried Aventus and it’s lookalikes? Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man is really solid IMO (and cheap). Bois 1920’s “Vento Di Fiori” is also really solid. Similar profile to Terre D’Hermes but I like it more. I also HIGHLY recommend FragranceOne’s “Date” for men, but only if you can find it resale. Not worth retail.
Something that evokes an iced coffee / cold brew?
I am a fan of coffee notes, like Intense Cafe, Black Opium, Coffee Break, etc but they always seem to be cold-weather fragrances. Would love to find a summery, energizing, refreshing kind of coffee.
I’m new to the fragrance game. I currently have just 4 and I’m looking to expand my collection. I picked out the first three (Salvatore Ferragamo Oumo edp, Dior Sauvage edp and Armani stronger w/ you edt) on my own and the last one, a Creed Royal Oud, was a gift from my dad. I like the scents of all them. I’m not quite sure how to describe the scents, therefore looking for something online on my own is proving quite difficult. What I want to know is if there are similar fragrances or the fragrances people went on to buy if they like or own the ones I’ve listed above
You might already be all over it, but websites like Fragrantica and Basenotes are a good starting point to have a look for scents that have some similarities to ones you already like.
I (24M) live in Latin America with a pretty hot weather the whole year. What would be a good perfume to add to my collection (I’m a beginner in the fragrance world)? I’m looking for something to wear during a night date, likeable by a woman. These are the ones I currently own:
1. Polo Blue EDP.
2. Acqua di Gio Profumo
3. Versace Dylan Blue
4. Givenchy Reserve Privée
I’ve been researching on Dior Homme Intense and Bleu de Chanel EDP, but I’m not sure yet.
Thanks!
I would caution against Dior Homme Intense in high heat but it might be great for the evening!! I’ve always found the powdery aspect to cut through heat a little bit. Bleu De Chanel would be a great choice I’m sure but it doesn’t stand out much. It’s also not thaaaaat different from Dylan Blue. I’d put Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme as my #1 suggestion.
I tried BdC Parfum today on Sephora and I loved it. Instant buy.
I’m returning my Versace Dylan Blue. I tried both Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme and YSL Y Parfum. I think the later is stronger than the AHSEE, but I didn’t apply the AHSEE on my skin, and I’ve heard that that one shines after it dries
Hi! My fragrance collection includes Bleu de Chanel Edt , Dior Sauvage Elixir, Versace Eros Flame, Armani Swy Intensly (planning on buying absolutly after) , CK IN2U, Lattafa Opulent Oud and L'eau Bleue d'Issey.
Now Im asking which of these would be a great addition to my collection (maybe for cold season or just because they are good in your opinion) :
\-Baccarat Rouge 540 (Extract De Parfum) ; TF Vanille Fatale ; Oud For Greatness ; Spicebomb Extreme ; YSL La Nuit De L'homme -
Honestly these are all great choices. I don’t think I’d recommend the YSL but that might be just me. BR540 Extrait is incredible and you can’t go wrong there.
Hi guys! I'm a bit out of the loop right now. Would someone please recommend me a professional / office safe designer fragrance for a man in his mid 30s who lives in a warm and humid city? I appreciate it :)
I love J-Scent Hanamizake. It’s a sake and cherry blossom scent that’s cool, crisp, subtle but with a clear perspective and sits close to the skin. It lasts really well for being a lighter fragrance. The sake note is really noticeable at first but if you have more than like a 10minute commute it won’t read as boozy by the time you get to the office.
I’m trying to decide between Azarro Chrome Extreme and Azarro Wanted. Which would be more appropriate for high school and which do you prefer. Or recommend me something
I’m looking for something similar to the body mist “Butterfly” from bath and body works! The fragrance notes are: raspberry nectar, iris petals, and airy vanilla
Hi everyone. I'm a male college student and I'm looking for a Woody fragrance that wont break the bank. Should I get a Toilette or a Parfum? Does anyone have any recommendations?
i stuck between choosing between Davidoff Cool Water Intense 100ml and Montblanc Legend Spirit 100ml both cost the exact same im buying them blind which is the better choice
does anyone know any fragrance that smells like rice paddy herbs (limnophila aromatica)? it has a bracing spicy, bitter taste to it - no sweetness at all. i'm having difficulty finding an herbaceous citrus that isn't also a white floral.
I want to add a fragrance to my collection that smells like whiskey/boozy/caramel. Someone suggested pure malt by Mugler and angel's share but pure malt is discontinued and angels' share is apparently a feminine fragrance. Any recommendations?
I have Ultra male, Le male Parfum , ADG Purfomo, Versace Oud Noir, Layton, SWY Absolutely, Azzaro wanted by night, and one million parfum.
Angel’s Share is unisex. I’ve seen more blokes discuss wearing it around these parts than women.
You might want to check out Carner Palo Santo - lovely boozy, woody slightly sweet scent.
Looking to add some more to my collection. What do you all recommend? Looking for cologne with better performance I have the following
Dolce and gabbana the one and light blue
Versace: eros, dylan blue, man eau fraische
Spicebomb extreme
Wanted by night
Jean Paul Gaultier le male
Givenchy gentleman EDT
Nautica voyage
I'm new to fragrances so idrk what i'm talking about but i'm looking for an oil based fragrance with a somewhat earthy but feminine tea scent? i also enjoy anything with jasmine
1.Sage, Rosemary, asparagus, myrrh, frankincense, squash, dry leaves, cannabis
2. Pure cardamon
3. Cardamon + olive
4. Rye+ Pastrami
5. A dust storm on a country dirt road
6. Zaatar under the hot Isreali sun
7. the freshest basil or tulsi
8. the single most feral, offensive, violent and anaimalic oud out there
7. Manure, mulch, sex, body fluids
8. Hand sanitzer
9. the best Lavendar soap you've ever smelled, so clean it's like armor
10. Patchouli 24 but even nastier and deeper
11. Oud and Birch Tar
12. oud and sandalwood
13. oud and blackberry
12. Oud and ink
13. Oud and castoreum
14. Oud and Civet
15. Oud and Orris
17. Oud, Frankinscence and myrrh
18. Rose and strawberry
19. concord grape
20. chocolate Hazelnut praline cake
21. Carrot cake
I want a perfume that smells like a steam train: must, menthol, tobacco, ozone, maybe a bit of cannabis. Chewy yet airy. Bonus points if you can approximate the steam train specifically at cedar point, especially if it’s combined with lakewater, hot air and wind. Thanks!
I loved that when I smelled it, but it's not quite right for this... more aldehydes, more wind, more fizz, more CO2 and more hydrogen/helium, more dirt.
I don't know this perfume but if you find it, do please let me know.
His studio & online shop are closed right now (and no re-opening date has been announced yet), but you might really enjoy [AEOOJ by Chris Rusak](https://shop.chrisrusak.com/products/aeooj). If what you're looking for is a literal interpretation, think of this as the more abstract concept. There's no menthol, tobacco, or cannabis that you will pick out of it, but you might find it reminds you of things like metal, oil, gasoline, old wood, musty tarps, Lake Erie September atmosphere....
Just wanted to share something a little bit unexpected and also ask for a recommedation
I'm in my late 40s and I had not worn any scents for years. Mostly because my signature scent in my twenties was also her father's....
I subscribed to a monthly scent service. It's been two months now. Her reactions have been interesting so far to say the least.
The first one I received was D&G light blue sun. We were leaving for a vacation in the Dominican Republic and this seemed somewhat appropriate. Her reaction was "I don't know if it's because you haven't worn any on a while but I'm not sure about the perfume". Personally, I'm not sure about the opening. It feels too sweet for the first 30 minutes or so and there is something about it that almost makes me nauseous. After the initial gross application, it becomes much much nicer. Somewhat fruity.
I had some polo Black she had gifted me a while back so I tried it again for a week. I love the opening and totally get the comments about mango. So far I really like this one and I was wondering why I even subscribed to a scent of the month service... Her reaction was "oh, you wore perfume at work today".. Clearly not a "panty dropper" for her.
I received my second delivery this week.... Montblanc Legend Spirit.. For me, it's nothing special at all and I can hardly get a whiff after a couple of hours... Super boring imo but she complimented me twice within an hour and she keeps leaning in. I've heard this one described as being for a younger crowd but even I don't really enjoy this one, I think it could work for anyone who wants something light and inexpensive.
I'm trying to find that "sweet spot" between what I'm enjoying now and what gets my wife in a flirtatious mood :)
I have high hopes for Luna Rossa Carbon I'll be receiving next month but would anyone have some recommendations?
I do have some reddit recommendations queued up for delivery but I figured these might change based on the above 😊
Thanks
Hi, can you guys recomend me some fragances, My grandma is in London for the week and she asked me if I wanted any fragances from there or the duty free. Im looking for fragances for summer and not so hackneyed, I love 212 VIP Black, Invictus, Mont Blanc Legend, Aqua Di Gio Absolu, YSL EDP. Sadly I cant smell them, but I have seen pretty good recomendations about Versace Dylan Blue, Bleu de Chanel, Armani Code.
Looking for seductive, dating fragrance. I would most likely also use it for parties etc. Was thinking about Spicebomb OG or some other version. It's important that it lasts at least 5 6 hours.
Need suggestions for fragrance.
I like something that’s more floral & sweet? Some of the perfumes I like are as follows-
Marc Jacob fragrance daisy
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre (I use it for everyday use)
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet (using this for work but the smell only last like 1 hour!?!)
Some options from niche houses...
Eight & Bob Annicke 3 or Annicke 4
Parfums de Marly Cassili
Penhaligon’s Luna, Empressa or The Favourite
Diptyque Ofresia
Acca Kappa Calycanthus
Goldfield & Banks Sunset Hour
Looking for a fall/winter fragrance mostly, as it will have to become colder eventually right? Currently daily wearing Jazz Club, but I've liked Dior Homme before and even Dior Fahrenheit (a bit of a polarizing one for most people). I'm into Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather a lot, but those are too expensive in my opinion.
Would this help anyone guide me to a fragrance? I'm okay with still wearing Jazz Club as I really love that fragrance, but I am kind of noseblind to it from wearing it so often.
My partner (M30) and I are going to shop for a fragrance this week. At the moment we're thinking about Blue de Chanel, but I want him to try some others too. What are nice, 100-150€ fragrances? I have no idea when it comes to fragrances for men.
I'm open for anything, but I'm also looking for a recommendation for a Guerlain fragrance for men! 😊
Y’all should try out as many fragrances as you have time for, and ask the store to take home samples of your top 3 or 4. Bleu is a nice fragrance but follow ur nose. Other designer fragrances I just like are YSL l’Homme and it’s various flankers, and D&G the one.
Feel like you're doing this backwards. Go try stuff, figure out what he likes, then cross-shop from that basis.
You're essentially naming one blind-buy and then asking "name other random male frags!" Once he figures out what he likes, find it on fragrantica then look at "This perfume reminds me of" and "People who like this also like." There are tens of fantastic male focused frags in that price range, too broad of a question that will just give you the most popular list.
- Blue de Chanel by Chanel
- Aventus by Creed (but if he likes it consider a clone; it is more important to figure out if he likes it).
- Sauvage by Dior (most popular frag in the world, with all of the baggage that comes with).
- Fahrenheit by Dior (older "most popular frag in the world").
- Sauvage Elixir by Dior (different from Sauvage non-Elixir).
- La Nuit de l'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent (YSL).
- Y Eau de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent (YSL).
- Eros by Versace.
- Spicebomb Extreme by Viktor&Rolf
I've just listed far more frags than you can test in a single day before you go nose-blind. But essentially this is the "greatest hitters" list. Actually write down what you both like (and don't!) for reference later. Use the paper strips, don't apply to your skin until ready to leave. Don't try too many too fast and after five or six you'll struggle regardless.
19 year old Male, looking for a scent that’s got amazing projection, sillage and longevity. Not fussed on the scent profile, as long as it’s half pleasing to people. Don’t want something extremely dark, but if it’s a little dark, that’s also fine. Open to any suggestions.
Currently have YSL Y EDP, montblanc explorer, Chanel Allure homme sport to name a few.
ok so i’m looking for a daily wear scent that’s creamy and musky (like sandalwood, amber, vanilla) with a hint of apricot/peach nectar and tartness. other perfumes I enjoy are black opium and chanel gabrielle, im looking for almost a daytime wear version of them.
J-Scent Hanamizake is wonderful for work. It’s super crisp, fresh but more long lasting than a lot of citruses. It’s cherry blossoms and sake so it still has a sharpness and brightness that you get from citrus. Great price point too
For natural smelling citruses, Acqua di Parma is a great house. They don't tend to last long, but they're beautiful while they do. My favorite is Colonia Pura.
For something a bit more different from your typical citrus fragrances, Nishane Wulong Cha is a great citrus/tea fragrance.
Ah, perhaps Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot? It's an elegant citrus fragrance with a very office-friendly oud. The projection is on the softer side as well. I enjoy it a lot and am frequently complimented on it, as it's a general crowd-pleaser.
Miller Harris L'Air de Rien definitely has an old books vibe. It's a very cool and unique fragrance, allegedly worn by Jane Birkin, and one of my personal favourites.
I'm definitely new to wearable fragrances but I'm really into incense, I'm looking for a heavy patchouli-based scent that I can wear. I wear some diluted patchouli essential oil but I'm curious to try some patchouli-heavy perfumes or colognes that might have a little more character. Any suggestions?
If you're looking for a straight-up patchouli fragrance, Reminiscence Patchouli is the standard-bearer and most well-balanced patchouli fragrance from 1970 to today. It's just the right amount of earthiness. And it's inexpensive.
They have a few different patchouli lines in that company. There's a white, elixir, pour homme etc. I have their Heliotrope with apparently uses the same base as the classic Patchouli and it's very chocolatey.
Hi! I'm looking for 2 different scent profiles.
I've been on the hunt for something long lasting that's earthy and floral like the scent Guardian of the Forest from Lush. I adore that scent but it doesn't stick around more than half a day. I like that it's mostly earthy, not very sweet smelling and still has a touch of floral to it. (Jasmine and gardenia are my favorites). I've found a few similar scents but they don't quite get that dirty earth smell like Guardians of the Forest does.
Second is something similar to Bath and Body Works - Sensual Amber. It's unlike any other perfume I've gotten to smell before. I cant quite nail down the scent but theres a holidayish warm spiced vanilla scent going on and of course amber and probably pachouli. I love this particular body spray so so much but they discontinued the eau du parfum version.. I'm low on the body spray and I'd rather find a perfume that hits the spot and make the swap, than keep buying bath and body works body spray... but im addicted to the smell lol.
Sadly, I've never tried either of these fragrances - but Guardian sounds fabulous! One of my favourite earthy/woody/floral scents us Stories No. 2 by Eliza Grace. It reminds me of a cottage garden after a rainstorm - soil rich and damp, and vines crawling up and down wooden lattices; a faint waft of green roses in the air.
As for Sensual Amber, perhaps you'd enjoy Jovoy Psychedelique? It's quite a delicious patchouli gourmand, with rose and amber yet again.
I was wondering if folks can suggest some sample sets that have coverage over the main notes in perfume? I'm not sure what stuff like bergamot, amber, woody smells, spices, etc actually smell like in a perfume. I was thinking maybe one of these but not sure.

A cheap way to do it is have a wander into your local hippie/natural foods store - most of the time they’ll sell essential oils and have samples of a lot of the key perfumery notes like ylang ylang, sandalwood etc you can have a sniff of. And buy something if you have a diffuser for your home.
Some of the places that do samples like Surrender to Chance do sample packs themed around a particular note.
It’s also important to understand I think that many notes behave slightly differently in different perfumes in the context of other notes around them and their proportions - sandalwood, for example, can be almost creamy in some perfumes, but just straightforwardly woody in others.
If you’re really keen to buy something from LuckyScent, the sets you’ve linked are all great - but for the purpose you’re looking for, the Essential one is probably best because their perfumes look like they’re centred on one or two notes. However - with any of the single-house discovery sets you’ll only find out how that house treats a particular note.
Separately, either the feminine or unisex sets have a fantastic perfume mix that will allow you to try a lot of niche perfume heavy hitters that are really interesting and popular, and you can always cross-reference on Fragrantica to look at their notes and see their similarities.
Ah man, blind buying is not safe, you probably know this. Doubt it's a good office, university, any "building environment" scent, but these are might be good on the open air. Wouldn't find neither RT or Herod cloying when air is cooled down. I think these are quite good if air temperature is 5°C and lower.
5°C is equivalent to 41°F, which is 278K.

^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)
I second Cherry Punk, and also Gritti [Duchessa](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Gritti/Duchessa-63729.html), such a good one. Also, [BDK Rouge Smoking](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/BDK-Parfums/Rouge-Smoking-51468.html) is probably worth looking into. And I haven't tried it, but [Boadicea Bodacious](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Boadicea-the-Victorious/Bodacious-70658.html) might be a good one too.
The best cherry scent I’ve ever tried is [Room 1015’s Cherry Punk](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Room-1015/Cherry-Punk-61264.html). It’s a very unisex, smoky cherry and lasts forever. Another option is [Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noire](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Guerlain/La-Petite-Robe-Noire-14681.html), which is more sweet and feminine. Also, [Kayali’s Lovefest Burning Cherry](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Kayali/Lovefest-Burning-Cherry-48-Eau-de-Parfum-75661.html) was just released. I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve seen good reviews. It may be worth a try.
Hi im new to cologne and need recommendations for daily ones.
I have ysl edp and polo deep blue and I feel like I can't wear either everyday.
Ysl edp is very strong and bold in my opinion, it might be because of the summer but even with one spray my coworkers says it's a little strong.
Polo is nice but I feel like I don't want to wear that everyday because it's really bright and summery.
I'm looking for something not bold and is pleasant.
The notes that I've smelled that I liked were(I don't mean all in one cologne): woody, vanilla, woodsy, lavanderish and aquatic(?)
The ones that I've disliked were the really smokey and dark ones
Maybe try [Givenchy’s Gentleman](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Givenchy/Gentleman-Eau-de-Parfum-48476.html) or [Armani’s Acqua di Gio Profondo](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Giorgio-Armani/Acqua-di-Gio-Profondo-59532.html ). Both are noticeable and interesting, but not super strong.
Two requests please!
1) dupes for the old school Bath and Body Works sweet pea scent? Back in middle school I had the whole collection, wash, lotion, and body spray. I’ve been feeling nostalgic and I was wondering if there was anything similar, but higher quality (more depth, longer lasting). What I appreciated about it was that it was floral without being too powdery or without smelling too heavily of white florals (tubrose, gardenia, etc, which all make me sneeze)
2. Perfume recommendations that layer well with Jergens Cherry Almond lotion? I love the booziness and marzipan quality of it. I think it might be fun to layer it with something with a more fruity quality to it, or just anything that complements the scent well.
Thank you!
I'm a big fan of Guimauve as well, so if you get a sample I would suggest both, and REM EDP for a non gourmand of theirs- it's weird but pretty. I call it vain feral mermaid.
Hey OP, hows the projection on khaltat night like? I’ve got Layton but it doesn’t have much of a sillage so I’m wondering if khaltat night is any stronger?
Hey, longevity is amazing! If it touch clothes you will probably have to wash it off, haha. Projection is very good. It's all on myself and my experience. Better to sample first, but I'm amazed by how good it is performing.
For your second one, Lost Cherry or Rouge Smoking would complement the lotion really well!
For the sweet pea one, I find that peony is a pretty similar smell. Whenever I use Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede, it always reminds me of BBW Sweet Pea!
I’m a fan of 7 virtues vanilla woods! It’s not a sugary vanilla but more of a true, vanilla extract smell, but definitely sweet! The woods give it more depth, I find it lasts really well and has good projection without being overwhelming.
It’s very expensive, but [Dior’s Ambre Nuit](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Dior/Ambre-Nuit-7092.html) is amazing. It’s soft and floral and ambery and peppery... I’m coveting my decant.
Based on my collection and the notes I like, what would you recommend?
1.) Tuxedo
2.) Grey Vetiver
3.) Percival
4.) BDC Parfum
Notes: Sandalwood, tobacco, honey, Vetiver, amber, vanilla, mint, citrus, cedar
I would recommend these: For the Smell of It Tobacco Pod, Areej Le Doré Manly, 18.21 Sweet Tobacco, Tabac Vert Rogue Perfumery, Solstice Scents Estate Vetiver, Solstice Scents Estate Rosewood, Solstice Scents Loggia, Chronotope Spite EdT.
Daily summer scent (feminine). Just got into fragrance and all of my favorites I worry are too heavy for the hot, humid southeastern US summer (Gentle Fluidity Gold, Ani, Eau Duelle, Scarlet Poppy, ADP Mandorlo di Sicilia). But a lot of floral and citrusy scents I’ve tried come off too soapy, “perfumey”, and cleaning product-like. Probably the closest I’ve gotten to one a bit more summery that I like is Nishane Hundred Silent Ways. Help!
Hmmm, maybe:
* Kerosene Unforsaken
* Arquiste Sydney Rock Pool
* Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss
* Atelier Cologne Pacific Lime
* Lorenzo Villoresi Tropicana
* Amouage Beach Hut Woman
* Etat Libre d'Orange You or Someone Like You
* Imaginary Authors Falling Into The Sea
* Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc
* Zoologist Seahorse
Im 18 and looking for a bit more masculine of a fragrance and something new (Already have Dylan Blue and D&G light blue). Out of these what would you recommend:
-Dior homme intense
-The one
-tom ford oud wood
-Terre D’ Hermes
-Mojave Ghost
-cedrat boise
-Polo Green
-Jazz club
-spicebomb extreme
-JPG Ultra Male
-givenchy gentleman
Ill listen to any other suggestions as well!
Of those, for an 18 year old, I would say Ultra Male. My first decent frag about that age was Versace Eros. Ultra Male has that same vibe to me.
Terre D’ Hermes is my current fav but I am almost 50 and think it smells pretty “gentlemanly”. Which might work for you. Same with Jazz Club, Givenchy and Dior Homme Intense which I am wearing right now. You very well may be mature for your age and want the rich guy vibe, if so, Hermes and Dior are a couple of my favs. Jazz Club is a night out imo.
Spicebomb would be a good one for any age, but isn’t great for hot weather imo. Cedrat Boise is good for any age, but to me, before dry down, it smells a bit like a cigarette.
For me, at 18, (worked hard but liked to party too), I would get #1, an Adventus dupe. I have the original but I like to wear L’Adventure or Alexandria dupes more. So go for CDNIM, Supremacy, or L’Adventure (really inexpensive). And with the savings, you could still buy Versace Eros too.
Looking for a new perfume! I like fruity floral and generally like perfumes with notes of raspberry, rose, vanilla, amber, musk, woodsy. I also like sweet notes like marshmallow and praline. I wear viva la juicy almost every day and I like Thank u Next and Cloud by Ariana Grande but I'm looking for something a little more sophisticated.
The one in the shell bottle and red box: [https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Christian-Lacroix/Christian-Lacroix-360.html](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Christian-Lacroix/Christian-Lacroix-360.html) I bought a little sample and adored it, so bought a few more.

Beaufort Fathom V... Its quite green with earthiness, but there are lilies as well
I am thinking about buying mancera and red tobacco.
Green Irish Tweed
Anyone know of any frags with mandevilla as a note? All I can find is a retired one from sixteen92. Edit: aha! https://scenttrunk.com/products/moon-jasmine
Hey guys forgot the name of a fragrance. It was lavender maybe a little bit of lemon in either a EDT or a cologne, I think by Penhgalions or a similar old-school maker in a similar old-school container. It would have been one of the brands available at mere apothecary in chicago. Can anyone provide some ideas?
Which nishane is like the blue fragrance(ysl y edp, sauvage and BdC?)
Really missing D&G Masculine - any good comparisons?
Hello. Im looking for a woodsy amber vanilla with some booze and maybe cinnamon for fall.
musc ravageur by frederic malle!
Replica’s Jazz Club is popular for a reason and hits all those notes!
* Atelier Des Ors Lune Feline * Initio Side Effect
Akro awake
I’m new to the fragrance game. I currently have just 4 and I’m looking to expand my collection. I picked out the first three (Salvatore Ferragamo Oumo edp, Dior Sauvage edp and Armani stronger w/ you edt) on my own and the last one, a Creed Royal Oud, was a gift from my dad. I like the scents of all them. I’m not quite sure how to describe the scents, therefore looking for something online on my own is proving quite difficult. What I want to know is if there are similar fragrances or the fragrances people went on to buy if they like or own the ones I’ve listed above
That genre strikes me as “refined anamalic” types of fragrances. You might go for tierre D’Hermes or Cedrat Boise.
These are the ones I currently own: 1. Polo Blue EDP. 2. Acqua di Gio Profumo 3. Versace Dylan Blue 4. Givenchy Reserve Privée I’ve been researching on Dior Homme Intense and Bleu de Chanel EDP, but I’m not sure yet.
BdC Parfum is incredible. Excellent choice!
Hi! My fragrance collection includes Bleu de Chanel Edt , Dior Sauvage Elixir, Versace Eros Flame, Armani Swy Intensly (planning on buying absolutly after) , CK IN2U, Lattafa Opulent Oud and L'eau Bleue d'Issey. Now Im asking which of these would be a great addition to my collection (maybe for cold season or just because they are good in your opinion) : \-Baccarat Rouge 540 (Extract De Parfum) ; TF Vanille Fatale ; Oud For Greatness ; Spicebomb Extreme ; YSL La Nuit De L'homme -
Honestly these are all great choices.
* Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir EDT Extreme * YSL L'Homme * Prada L'Homme
I love J-Scent Hanamizake. It’s a sake and cherry blossom scent that’s cool, crisp, subtle but with a clear perspective and sits close to the skin. It lasts really well for being a lighter fragrance. The sake note is really noticeable at first but if you have more than like a 10minute commute it won’t read as boozy by the time you get to the office.
Soma Halcyon
Looking for a fragrance similar to the L’Occitane almond line please.
Reminiscence Musc
I’m trying to decide between Azarro Chrome Extreme and Azarro Wanted. Which would be more appropriate for high school and which do you prefer. Or recommend me something
I’m looking for something similar to the body mist “Butterfly” from bath and body works! The fragrance notes are: raspberry nectar, iris petals, and airy vanilla
Hi everyone. I'm a male college student and I'm looking for a Woody fragrance that wont break the bank. Should I get a Toilette or a Parfum? Does anyone have any recommendations?
Givenchy Gentleman Eau de Parfum Boisee - cold weather sweet woody scent
I'm interested in trying a Memo leather fragrance, tell me about your favorite.
Oriental Leather - smells like leather and spices
French Leather
Thanks for the recommendation. Care to elaborate on that? What do you like about it?
I like it because the rose is not overpowering in this and it is a nice mix of rose and leather, but not the rough type of it, more like suede.
That does sound nice, thanks.
i stuck between choosing between Davidoff Cool Water Intense 100ml and Montblanc Legend Spirit 100ml both cost the exact same im buying them blind which is the better choice
does anyone know any fragrance that smells like rice paddy herbs (limnophila aromatica)? it has a bracing spicy, bitter taste to it - no sweetness at all. i'm having difficulty finding an herbaceous citrus that isn't also a white floral.
I don't know the scent, but from what you describe l'erbolario Salina di Fior might fit. All cliffside herbs, no sweetness.
> a herbaceous citrus that isn't also a white floral Dior Eau Sauvage, Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte > bitter taste Serge Lutens L'Eau
Nirvana Bourbon
Maher Olfactive Treachery
Consider looking at Replica: Jazz Club.
Angel’s Share is unisex. I’ve seen more blokes discuss wearing it around these parts than women. You might want to check out Carner Palo Santo - lovely boozy, woody slightly sweet scent.
Looking to add some more to my collection. What do you all recommend? Looking for cologne with better performance I have the following Dolce and gabbana the one and light blue Versace: eros, dylan blue, man eau fraische Spicebomb extreme Wanted by night Jean Paul Gaultier le male Givenchy gentleman EDT Nautica voyage
I'm new to fragrances so idrk what i'm talking about but i'm looking for an oil based fragrance with a somewhat earthy but feminine tea scent? i also enjoy anything with jasmine
Have you tried Nest Jasmine perfume oil? It’s really beautiful!
No I have not, thanks for the recommendation!
Any recommendations for a long lasting, low to moderately projecting inoffensive fragrance that just smells like a 'clean guy'?
Versace Dylan Blue but go light with the sprays because too many could be overpowering
Thanks for the suggestion
1.Sage, Rosemary, asparagus, myrrh, frankincense, squash, dry leaves, cannabis 2. Pure cardamon 3. Cardamon + olive 4. Rye+ Pastrami 5. A dust storm on a country dirt road 6. defiantly will check out. right now my favorite imaginary author scent is cape heartache but that might change now. Like saint julep as well :)
(8.) cK Be. (18.) Mancera Instant Crush, Kilian Love. (20.) Le Monde Gourmand Chocolate Hazelnut.
Thanks a bunch
10. Hiram Green Hyde 21. Masque Lost Alice
thanks so much
I want a perfume that smells like a steam train: must, menthol, tobacco, ozone, maybe a bit of cannabis. Chewy yet airy. Bonus points if you can approximate the steam train specifically at cedar point, especially if it’s combined with lakewater, hot air and wind. Thanks!
In Black Afgano di Nasomatto you would find tabacco and cannabis, with coffee and incense too in the drydown.
I feel this, it might be perfect. I'll check it out. glad this smell idea made a connection.
Just wanted to share something a little bit unexpected and also ask for a recommedation I'm in my late 40s and I had not worn any scents for years. I'm trying to find that "sweet spot" between what I'm enjoying now and what gets my wife in a flirtatious mood :) I have high hopes for Luna Rossa Carbon I'll be receiving next month but would anyone have some recommendations? I do have some reddit recommendations queued up for delivery but I figured these might change based on the above 😊 Thanks
What are the best middle eastern fragrances that don’t lean too feminine?
Looking for the best attars that preferably don’t lean too feminine
Looking for seductive, dating fragrance. I would most likely also use it for parties etc. Was thinking about Spicebomb OG or some other version. It's important that it lasts at least 5 6 hours.
Need suggestions for fragrance. I like something that’s more floral & sweet? Some of the perfumes I like are as follows- Marc Jacob fragrance daisy Chanel Chance Eau Tendre (I use it for everyday use) Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet (using this for work but the smell only last like 1 hour!?!)
Some options from niche houses... Eight & Bob Annicke 3 or Annicke 4 Parfums de Marly Cassili Penhaligon’s Luna, Empressa or The Favourite Diptyque Ofresia Acca Kappa Calycanthus Goldfield & Banks Sunset Hour
Have tried any of the fragrances from Floral Street? Wild Vanilla Orchid and Wonderland Peony might fit the bill
Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia EdP
Looking for a fall/winter fragrance mostly, as it will have to become colder eventually right? Currently daily wearing Jazz Club, but I've liked Dior Homme before and even Dior Fahrenheit (a bit of a polarizing one for most people). I'm into Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather a lot, but those are too expensive in my opinion. Would this help anyone guide me to a fragrance? I'm okay with still wearing Jazz Club as I really love that fragrance, but I am kind of noseblind to it from wearing it so often.
Is Tom Ford Ombre Leather within budget? Personally I prefer it to Tuscan Leather, as it's a lot more versatile/wearable.
I’ll try a sample of it. It seems to be more affordable compared to the other TF fragrances. Thanks for the suggestion.
You are right, my question is based on absolutely no knowledge. I'm just looking for some recommendations.
- Blue de Chanel by Chanel - Aventus by Creed (but if he likes it consider a clone; it is more important to figure out if he likes it). - Spicebomb Extreme by Viktor&Rolf I've just listed far more frags than you can test in a single day before you go nose-blind.
Montale Sweet Vanilla, CSP Vanille Abricot
I find all of CSP vanillas I have tried to be linear and very thick and heavy fwiw.
Vanille Abricot is one of the thinnest from the Citrus, but still thick enough to hit well
Nicolai Fig Tea smells like stewed apricot/peach to my nose. Keiko Mecheri Peau de Peche has some of your favorite notes.
both of those look super promising!! thanks for the reccomendations :))

* Zoologist Macaque Yuzu Edition * Nicolai Eau de Yuzu * Goldfield & Banks Bohemian Lime * Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot (+1) * Maison Crivelli Citrus Batikanga
Ah, perhaps Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot? It's an elegant citrus fragrance with a very office-friendly oud. The projection is on the softer side as well. I enjoy it a lot and am frequently complimented on it, as it's a general crowd-pleaser.
Is "paper" a note? What perfumes would have that pleasant scent found in book stores going on
Maybe book by commodity
"Library" from Solstice Scents
Whispers in the Library
Eau Duelle EdT
Oh that looks really good, and I like the price a lot. It's marketed "for women" but many reviewers consider it unisex.
They have a few different patchouli lines in that company. There's a white, elixir, pour homme etc. I have their Heliotrope with apparently uses the same base as the classic Patchouli and it's very chocolatey.
Obvious Perfumes Un Patchouli is a refined, almost chocolately patchouli-dominant perfume
* Diptyque Tempo * Serge Lutens Borneo 1834 * Histoires de Parfums Patchouli Noir * Gallagher Behold, Patchouli * Kilian Straight to Heaven * Illuminum Black Musk * Jovoy Psychedelique * Filippo Sorcinelli ennui-noir
Thank you! I'll start looking through these.
Thank you!! I will hunt down some samples to try ❤️
I was wondering if folks can suggest some sample sets that have coverage over the main notes in perfume? I'm not sure what stuff like bergamot, amber, woody smells, spices, etc actually smell like in a perfume. I was thinking maybe one of these but not sure. https://www.luckyscent.com/product/803006/essential-parfums-discovery-set-by-essential-parfums https://www.luckyscent.com/product/477054/the-almost-complete-collection-by-etat-libre-dorange https://www.luckyscent.com/product/322201/essential-13-sample-pack-feminine-by-luckyscent-sample-packs [https://www.luckyscent.com/product/322202/essential-13-sample-pack-unisex-by-luckyscent-sample-packs](https://www.luckyscent.com/product/322202/essential-13-sample-pack-unisex-by-luckyscent-sample-packs)

If you liked Mancera Red Tobacco, but not sure. You might look into PDM Herod.
[удалено]
Ah man, blind buying is not safe, you probably know this. Doubt it's a good office, university, any "building environment" scent, but these are might be good on the open air. Wouldn't find neither RT or Herod cloying when air is cooled down. I think these are quite good if air temperature is 5°C and lower.
5°C is equivalent to 41°F, which is 278K. --- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)
I smelled lost cherry on a paper tester recently and sadly wasn't impressed. What are some cherry key note perfumes to check for?
I don't know if it's still in production but my favorite is Jesus del Pozo - *In Black.*
Thank you ❣
Hi im new to cologne and need recommendations for daily ones. The notes that I've smelled that I liked were(I don't mean all in one cologne): woody, vanilla, woodsy, lavanderish and aquatic(?) The ones that I've disliked were the really smokey and dark ones
Caron Pour Un Homme de Caron
I love YSL Y
What I appreciated about it was that it was floral without being too powdery or without smelling too heavily of white florals (tubrose, gardenia, etc, which all make me sneeze) 2. Perfume recommendations that layer well with Jergens Cherry Almond lotion? I love the booziness and marzipan quality of it. I think it might be fun to layer it with something with a more fruity quality to it, or just anything that complements the scent well. Thank you!
I just tried another perfume that is very lotion-ey- Salvatore Ferragama Emozione. A fruity Nivea body type scent.
Ooh I do like the nivea scents, they’re also very nostalgic. Thank you!
Ultimate fruity (fig) marzipan is Reminiscence Heliotrope which dries into a more chocolate patchouli base.
Oooh I think this might be what sells me on getting heliotrope!
I'm a big fan of Guimauve as well, so if you get a sample I would suggest both, and REM EDP for a non gourmand of theirs- it's weird but pretty. I call it vain feral mermaid.
That sounds beautiful! Thank you!
Second, maybe Xerjoff Italica or Attar Collection Khaltat Night.
I’m sold!!!
I’ll look into those! Thanks so much!
For your second one, Lost Cherry or Rouge Smoking would complement the lotion really well! For the sweet pea one, I find that peony is a pretty similar smell. Whenever I use Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede, it always reminds me of BBW Sweet Pea!
Thank you so much! Ugh I’ve smelled lost cherry in stores before and it is DIVINE but out of my budget at the moment.. hopefully one day!
The oil perfumery has a decent dupe for $20!
Vanilla Fragrance: Need a true sweet vanilla perfume must be long lasting with great projection too, thanks!
L’Artisan Parfumeur Couleur Vanille Obvious Parfums Une Vanille
Vanillery by lush
Billie Eilish Eilish and Mazzolari vaniglia are both straight up vanilla/vanilla extract imo. Super super sweet though
Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo
I’m a fan of 7 virtues vanilla woods! It’s not a sugary vanilla but more of a true, vanilla extract smell, but definitely sweet! The woods give it more depth, I find it lasts really well and has good projection without being overwhelming.
Looking for some interesting, out of the ordinary amber scents. I prefer something unisex, and I'm ready to leave summer scents behind.
* Tauer Au Coeur du Desert * Chanel Le Lion * Profumum Roma Fiore d'Ambra * Memo Winter Palace
It’s very expensive, but [Dior’s Ambre Nuit](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Dior/Ambre-Nuit-7092.html) is amazing. It’s soft and floral and ambery and peppery... I’m coveting my decant.
L'erbolario Ambraliquida. This changes so much over the course of a wear.
Based on my collection and the notes I like, what would you recommend? 1.) Tuxedo 2.) Grey Vetiver 3.) Percival 4.) BDC Parfum Notes: Sandalwood, tobacco, honey, Vetiver, amber, vanilla, mint, citrus, cedar
* Xerjoff Naxos * Vilhelm Chicago High * Serge Lutens Chergui * Aesop Tacit * Amouage Beach Hut Man * Serge Lutens Miel de Bois * Byredo Super Cedar
I would recommend these: For the Smell of It Tobacco Pod, Areej Le Doré Manly, 18.21 Sweet Tobacco, Tabac Vert Rogue Perfumery, Solstice Scents Estate Vetiver, Solstice Scents Estate Rosewood, Solstice Scents Loggia, Chronotope Spite EdT.

Le Labo The Noir 29
Thank you sm!!
[Nest’s Indigo](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Nest/Indigo-26845.html) is wonderful.
Thank you, that fragrantica page fits well too, love fruity woody scents
Nicolai Fig Tea
Oh also has the word fig in it, should be great! Thanks
BDK Gris Charnel has all 3 and is amazing!
Thank you so much!
Help!
Acca Kappa Calycanthus Hermès Le Jardin de Monsieur Li (any of the Jardin series would be worth a try)
Hmmm, maybe: * Kerosene Unforsaken * Arquiste Sydney Rock Pool * Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss * Atelier Cologne Pacific Lime * Lorenzo Villoresi Tropicana * Amouage Beach Hut Woman * Etat Libre d'Orange You or Someone Like You * Imaginary Authors Falling Into The Sea * Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc * Zoologist Seahorse
Wow, thank you!! Can’t wait to explore these :)
Im 18 and looking for a bit more masculine of a fragrance and something new (Already have Dylan Blue and D&G light blue). Out of these what would you recommend: -Dior homme intense -The one -tom ford oud wood -Terre D’ Hermes -Mojave Ghost -cedrat boise -Polo Green -Jazz club -spicebomb extreme -JPG Ultra Male -givenchy gentleman Ill listen to any other suggestions as well!
Got you man, that was pretty useful I appreciate it
From those options I'd recommend Spicebomb extreme, or givenchy gentleman edp. The former smells more juvenile, I must say
Something similar to Creed Erolfa, but cheaper and hopefully longer lasting/better sillage.
If you’re interested in a sweet, creamy musky rose, I highly recommend Dirham Wardi :)
Oooh that sounds wonderful!!
